I have been going to Krage Service Center in Addison, IL. for at least 10-12 years(may be more) and never regretted. It started off as filling up gas, then oil changes, as it was very near from my work place. The staff (Richard, Kevin, Luis and all) have always been friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, honest and easy to work with. Recently, they attended to our situation promptly (my daughter was traveling and needed a new ignition switch). They took care of it in a day and my daughter was on her way back without any worries. Very happy with the experience. Great service as always.

I expect to be informed about potential charges before a mechanic touches my car.Krage's surprised me with a charge for a preliminary estimate AFTER they looked at my car. The charge was for just a preliminary, verbal estimate. It wasn't even a written estimate. No repairs were attempted or done.I went there for a second opinion on a heating issue. I had already received a diagnosis and estimate from my mechanic - Without a charge. He suggested that I get another opinion, which I didn't think was necessary. But someone happened to recommend Krage's, so I thought I'd check them out.After Krage's looked at my car, they told me they would charge for just looking at it. I told them that I've never paid for an estimate before.The response was that anywhere you go, you have to pay for an appointment. For example: a doctor's office or a dealership.True. However, at a doctor's office they tell you before you are seen whether you have a copay through insurance or how much you will pay out of pocket. When you go to a dealership, they give you in writing how much they're going to charge, even if it's for just looking at the problem. It is unprofessional to surprise a potential customer with a charge.If they had been honest and upfront, I would not have stayed for their opinion. I could have gone to Merlin's, who would do it without charge or not spent my time in another mechanic's waiting room at all. As I already said, this was not something I needed. I went to Krage's because I wanted to experience this company that someone had recommended.Obviously, they have lost a potential customer.(I'm sure they will post a rebuttal. I want to be clear that they reduced the charge, but still asked me to pay. They should have not charged me at all. I might have gone back to them.)

Very helpful. They take their time when explaining the issue(s), and always get permission, with an accurate estimate, before starting work in my car. Vic is an honest mechanic and has had my family's business for years. Highly recommend.

When is a Gas Station , NOT-a Gas Station ? ?When an Owner/ Manager/consummate Good-Man Vic takes chargein exuding a display of Customer-Serviceat a business not traditionallyknown for helping a Customer.The simple act of (my)adding Air pressureto a low tire- led to Vic insisting he help,and telling me he d checkALL 4 tires; & offered me insideto wash my hands of brake-dust, which led to discovering we BOTH were small-dog owners, and was amazed how-Nice- a person Vic is.Listen- I ve read others Reviews,but if I ever havean Automotive issue,I d drive from CHICAGO-to-Addisonto get Vic s shop fix what s needed.

Krage's is fantastic! They are trustworthy, timely, and provide fantastic service. I brought my van in and didn't know what was wrong, it kept shutting down when going above 40 mph. I thought it would take days to fix but Louis turned it around in just a few hours. I went from feeling like my van life was over to being back on the road. I would highly recommend taking your vehicle here if you encounter a problem with your auto and they were reasonably priced to boot!

Service center is great! Getting gas not so much! KEEP RECEIPT PAPER IN YOUR PUMPS!! I get it if people come in they might buy something, but instead it just annoys the heck out of me! I stopped coming for awhile and stopped in last night, thinking ok maybe they fixed it. Nope! 20 degrees outside and you want people running in and out and all around. I m done! And so is my fleet of vehicles that we have a Mobil account. Time is money! If people are going to buy something in the store they will!

I was there last week. The staff is friendly, but what really stood out was the owner. It was ridiculously cold, I started the pump and walked inside to make a purchase. When I returned to my car, the man filling up on the opposite side of me was putting the pump back and closing my gas cap. He said politely "You looked cold and like you wouldn't want to smell like gas." (I was Dressed up for an important meeting) He then told me he was the owner and that they appreciated my business. I was shocked at how nice this was. People are not that polite anymore and he was correct on both accounts! :) I will always return to this location and the very polite, considerate owner made my day just a bit better. Thank you!

My tire pressure gauge light came on. I was in Elmhurst, so I stopped at a BP at York and Butterfield. The guy inside told me it would be a while and to sit in my car and wait.No help there.I went across the street to a Shell station.They did not have a tire gaugeAnd their machine that cost a dollar did not have a tire gauge either.The guy told me he didn't want to over inflate my tires so he couldn't help.I decided to go ahead and drive homeAnd thought to stop atKrage's.They were not only extremely nice there, but t they checked the pressure in all four of my tires and found the culprit. It was down to 20%!!I've been goingI've been going to this service station for over 30 years. They are always exceptional!Service: Tires

I am not very knowledgeable about cars so I always get nervous going to get my oil change and car fixed. However everyone here made me feel really comfortable! Very friendly crew that informed me thoroughly. Went in for an oil change, to get my tires repaired, and a brake check. They did it all quickly.

I went to these clowns 2 years ago with 2 problems: Lifters were sticking on the engine and the A/c wasn't working.2 years later: The A/C still is not working after 10 plus attempts and over $4,000.$16,000 later I am on my third engine. the first had the same problems my original engine had, the 2nd engine locked up on 294 with less than 900 mile on it (Japser Engine=Junk, check out their negative reviews) and the third engine (it has cost me over $3,000 and 5 plus trips to have it serviced) cannot go over 80 MPH and I have to burn premium gas.I don't know how these dart throwers stay in business?Anything beyond an oil change you are taking your chances with these idiots!!!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

My go to. Honest car shop. Says it all. They tell you what you need, what you don't, and do good work quickly. Great for full repair service or to fix a flat, this is the place to go.

They don't call to give you quotes on how much work will cost! $700-$800 bill went up to $1300 without giving me a different quote. If I could give them a 0 star I would.
