These folks are awesome. Santos was very helpful and his team went out of their way to fit me in and installed a new clutch on my modified Xterra. Most shops in Chicago metro area won t touch modified trucks/cars. They even installed my aftermarket specialty parts that I provided. Also, the price came back 30% less than I was quoted. Best shop I have found in the metro area. I can t recommend them enough! Thanks AC Transmission.

Absolutely 110% satisfied with customer service and personal experience, transmission came in completely shot and this company did amazing work on my 2009 Mitsubishi lancer Manuel Trans. It shifts like when I first bought it and feels brand new. I had my motor swapped at 200k then the clutch went and had my buddy do that but I knew what was going on was much worse and ended up being a bunch of broken parts in the transmission. They fixed everything in a reasonable amount of time, even while sourcing some near impossible parts to get. My lancer is a popular you see them everywhere but the Manuel version is rare. Anyways Highly recommend for any transmission rebuilding!

BE CAREFUL IF YOU RE A YOUNG WOMAN. Walked in there a year ago because my transmission was leaking oil. Left my car and got a call later. Man on the phone said my transmission looked bent in an unnatural angle and that it looked like someone had wedged a tool in there. Was quoted $3000I came to pick it up so I can get a second opinion and a man working there kindly told me to put it off and that he would be willing to refill my oil from time to time.Sounded fishy, so I got a second opinion.The oil cap was cracked. $80 fix.They saw a teen girl walking in and thought they could make a quick buck.

Had my 2012 Yukon Transmisson rebuilt there in 2019. Only lasted 25,000 miles before it had to be rebuilt again at another shop. Attomic rebuilt it and did an amazing job . Found out AC never fully rebuilt it correctly and fully . For the same price I payed I got the job done the right way at attomic . I don t recommend AC

I thought I had a transmission issue, turned out it was electrical. Trust is a major factor when getting your car fixed and glad they didn't perform work that wasn't needed. They came to me highly recommended and I would definitely refer anyone to them.

Great shop. Had my clutch replaced here well over a year ago, so this review is also praising how well their work held up. The cost was less than half of what I was quoted at other shops, and they use quality parts. They are nice and straightforward people, and the car was done when they said it would be. AC Transmission does good work and I highly recommended them. Ask for Santo.Service: Transmission

AC was recommended by Tom at George's Auto in Westchester to take a look at what I thought was transmission issues with my Silverado. Just like George's these people are completely honest. Took me on a drive with my truck while diagnostics were plugged in. Told me everything seemed normal and 6 speeds sometimes have some knocks during downshifting. Told me if it got worse they would take another look. Btw brought truck before this to Aamco and told me I need a rebuilt transmission for $6200!!Thank you so much and I will recommend you to everyone I know if they are having transmission issues.

High praise for AC Transmission my 2009 Chevrolet Silverado had loud grinding noise in reverse it was the transfer case had it rebuilt at a price lower than expected and a fast repair. Santo and his dad were very nice helpful people a pleasure to do business with I would definitely recommend and go back for future service. Thank you Joe

This shop should be the model that every repair shop follows. HONESTY ! We all need & want more money. But Dominick says listen I m not gonna take your money for something you don t need. Santos is the man for having great people there.

I sublet all my trans repairs and rebuilds to AC Transmission exclusively for my auto repair shop. Prices are fair, turn around time is always faster than expected and with over 50 rebuilds sent there, I have only had a couple of minor issues that turn out to be part failures....OUT OF WARRANTY.... and they ALWAYS stand behind their work. Even when it is OUT OF WARRANTY. They have been in business over 40 years and have employees that have been there since they opened. You cant buy employee loyalty like that. The employees are obviously treated well or they would move on. I have been a loyal customer for 7 years and once I found AC, I NEVER looked for another trans shop. Nobody comes close to the professionalism of this company. Family owned businesses that can stand the test of time and keep up with the fastest moving technology on Earth...... Now that is impressive.I love this place!!!!

I have been doing business with the owner Tony since the late 1970's early 1980's. I was a Dealership Service Manager and used to send him our used car work. In 2018 they put a transmission in my high mileage Sonata. 148K later it was still operating great when I traded it in at 298K in 2021. Honest man - outstanding work.

We have been taking our service vans there for all our transmission needs. The staff is great. Very knowledgeable, honest, and work hard to get things done, and keep my vans on the road. Will continue to use them and recommend to others in need. You do not find too many places that stand behind their work like they do.

The best transmission place in Illinois. Wonderful customer service, great price and honest feedback on the repair. The owner Mr. Tony is very knowledgeble and humble person. Keep up the good work sir. There are only few people like him in automobile field. I would highly reccomend this place.

I had a problem with a 2009 Honda Civic and went in for a diagnosis. They performed a scan of the computer and took the car for a drive to see what the problem was. The conclusion was that the transmission was slipping and told me that it would need to be rebuild or replaced ($2.5k estimate). Before spending that much, I was able to change out the clutch pressure switches and it resolved the problem. It cost me $120 (Honda OEM parts) to do this and luckily I have enough experience to try this before spending all that money or scrapping the car. It s disappointing that their diagnosis was to suggest the very expensive repair before trying to resolve the root cause and less expensive problem.

Amazing! They ran my codes, there was nothing wrong with my transmission, they refused to take my money. I drive Lyft, and as a guitarist i drive at least 3-500 miles a week, so I thought i should look into getting it serviced. Just a great experience, that kind of integrity is a rare thing these days. Thank you guys!

My husband and have been using AC Transmission as our main car maintenance people for years. We live in the city now and still go back to Addison, since we trust Tony and his crew!They're a small shop and the team there treats me like family. I never have to worry about them being dishonest either. They really are a quality shop and I'm happy to have found such a great repair shop. I'd recommend them to anyone!

After the dealer wouldn't honor my warranty 18 miles over the limit, I was referred to AC. In and out service. Honored their phone quote even though it took them longer. Definitely recommend this shop to everyone with transmission issues.

I've come here twice now and have been pleasantly surprised with their fast repair turnaround time and reasonable pricing. Some shops might try to rip you off. This one won't.

Transmission on 1995 dodge truck started failing. Old rusty 2 wheel drive runs good use in sloppy weather. Transmission shifts great motors runs good not worth putting a rebuilt transmission in it. But still happy quality job fair price way cheaper than going to dealer and buying new. Happy with my decission. Good beater 187k miles.

Never give 5 stars but this place is amazing. I had 9 transmissions done in 5 years. No one could figure out what was going wrong. But ac took the time out and figured it all out. Definitely would recommend to EVERYONE!

I ve been dealing with them for over 30 years. I m a mechanic and I wouldn t trust anyone else with my vehicles for transmission work. They stand behind their work. They re the best around.

My lexus es 300 had a transmission fluid leaking. After checked up by several auto service shops, I chose AC transmission to repair it. Tony, the boss, and other mechanics are very friendly and professional. He brought me to the garage(large, well-equipped) and explained the details to me. Finally, the price was also fair. Highly recommended!

Worst place to ever get a transmission rebuilt at. Nothing but problems. Had to take my truck back 5 times to get it "fixed" and it's still not right! Then had a hard time getting it back in for them to "fix" it again.It was you guys. I went through another shop. I'm sure you remember my dually.

Like the warranty, quick to work with. Had to call for follow up on completion but brief and easy to work with. Good price.
