In spite of the busy season, Jimmy got me in right away and had my water pump and radiator replaced in no time. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic who truly just wants to diagnose and fix your car problems in a timely manner look no further! I've never felt more comfortable at a mechanic shop. Excellent service and truly good people.

On June 6th 2023 we had a huge lightning strike that went down through a tree and fried the electrical on our Suzuki Quad 700. Only the headlights, hand warmers and winch still worked. Someone from a cycle shop that we've dealt with for many years referred us to Alpine Auto & Off Road Repair. We took it to Jimmy Hinderman on June 14th. He said it needed a new ECU unit and he needed money up front to order it. He acknowledged on his estimate that it was shorted due to a lightning strike and he ALSO knew that it was an insurance claim. Throughout the summer he would not communicate or answer our calls--we explained that we were afraid the Insurance Co. would close the books on it if we didn't get something done soon. We tried getting a hold of him several times--when we did reach him he was vague and after many excuses did indicate that he was looking for more parts. By September 5th we'd had enough of his excuses and told him we were picking it up which we did. At that time we asked Jimmy for the old ECU & his response was that he'd already thrown it in the trash. Another mechanic said that it is a common practice to hold on to the old part and give it back to the customer. We went directly from his shop to another shop about 8 mi. away on paved streets. The guys at the new repair shop assured us that a NEW ECU unit was NOT installed. Either a used one was put in or the old one was still in the Quad. They knew that because there was dust and dirt in it and of course it was dead. We sent Jimmy a letter & a text telling him these things and asking for proof that he installed a new one; a sales receipt within those dates, shipping order verifying it was shipped to Alpine, a work order of work done--NO RESPONSE. I included a cc to my Insurance Adjuster as well, but of course they will not pay for a second one and the second repair shop needed a new ECU before they can get it repaired. Jimmy's last words to us as we were picking up our quad was: This isn't how I do business." Well, it's exactly how he did business with us! We feel that Jimmy cheated us out of a whole summer, plus a great sum of money ($984.28). We are in our 70's and 80's and we feel he took advantage! The guy who first referred us said he won't refer him again! If it were possible to give lower than 1 star, that's what he'd get. We don't want to see anyone else scammed by him!R. & J. Paulson
