I've had good experiences everytime I come here for the most part. Everyone is polite and helpful. Sometimes the lines are a little bit longer, never more than 30 minutes. Most times I come here I wait less than 5 minutes.

We were there two days in a row and were helped by Connie. (Rhymes with Bonni) She was great to deal with and helped us out without being frustrated with our stupidity! We sorta got it worked out by our second day! Anyhow, great experience.

Every time I go into this office it's a struggle. The lady with the short hair is rude, and today told me that She dosent care that paperwork is filled out according to procedure, she just won't process it. She makes up rules on the fly; today, my notarized document wasn't up to her standards because I used a diftrent pen to fill out my section than the owner of the car did on his (I mailed the form out of state to the owner). I was told that I should come back and speak to anybody but her. Paperwork is either right or wrong, not up for her to make new rules. Funny thing js that when I went back through the hour line to speak to someone else, got my car registered no problem. She has refused to accept law enforcment Vin inspections because she wants to see the car herself, then won't walk out to see the car when I trailer It in. She had refused to let me apply for a personalized plate and told me I get the standard 7B plate or leave because she won't do the extra paperwork. Also she had given me 3 "you are being investigated for title fraud" forms over the years and nothing ever comes of them. I buy 30 year old junk trucks for $600 and get them road worthy again, I'm not faking bills of sale.

There was a wait, (but not bad compared with other state DMVs I have used, more staff would relieve some pressure) Staff is friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, I have come to this office twice in the last two weeks only to have to leave without getting my business taken care of. The cue was too long for me to accomplish my task during my lunch hour. I am not able to take care of my business online, so I am not sure how I am going to get it done with such long lines.

I give 2 stars because once you finally make it, the folks are nice. The wait times are wild and not acceptable. Not sure if it is the hourly employees mantra or lack of care or terrible leadership but this is a shame. Each time it has taken over 2 hours. Wow just wow.

sat there for 4 hours for them to tell me that my document (on an email) was invalid and they needed the original to be faxed to them... amoungst about a dozen other things. archaic and slow. the epitome of all the worst things about a dmv.

The people are amazing, do make sure you call and verify all the info you need before going in. You could wait a couple hours and if you don't have the proper paperwork you will have to come back. If they call your number and you don't come they will skip it, if you come back and they have skipped you. You will have to take another number, its the DNV what do you expect. The workers don't make the rules and I am sure they don't want to hear you complain about the wait because everyone else is complaining.

The wait times have been stupid for years, most of the time ladies do a really good job of helping me out with a smile when I know it is tough. Sarah help me out today on a vin check and all I heard was scoffing and horrible noises that she had to get up and go outside. When we got back inside she actually made a comment about how she would never buy a car out of California. She was probably having a bad day, hopefully things go better the rest of week.

I ve been there for a variety of services 5 times in the last year and can say this is the best DMV experience I have ever had. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The wait can be long at times so an advance phone call is advised if you are on a tight timeframe. Definitely make sure you know what documents are needed before waiting in line too. The take a number system works well and is efficient. Thank you DMV staff, you are appreciated.

The clerks are great, however the wait times are in the hours. My last time was a 3 hr wait. Commissioners need to get off there. . .

I highly recommend not having high expectations. I waited a little around 2 hours, with a baby and restless toddler. I walked around the mall trying to keep them happy and occupied. I was hungry and tired as were they. The dmv has a beep that goes off when it s the next person. I knew I had about 5 people in front of me, and was walking back around the mall toward dmv when I heard about 3 beeps in a row, really fast and close together. I thought it was odd, that they wouldn t give people more time to get inside. I was literally trying to run but my toddler was having a meltdown that mommy was leaving him. When I arrived, a few short moments later, they had already moved on to 2 ahead of me. I went inside and when I talked to Courtney, and handed her my ticket, she wouldn t help me. I explained that I was trying to keep my babies happy for 2 hours walking around the mall and had headed back in plenty of time, but she had no concern or care for me whatsoever. I asked her specifically for mercy, as it s difficult to do such errands with babies. She said no. If i was being unreasonable, raising my voice or something similar, I would understand her attitude. But I was my usual polite, gentle self. So please don t waste your time with attempting a trip with littles, but especially don t expect anyone courteous or having good customer service. I spent my 30 minute drive home crying, and my husband will be going in instead of me. I hope he gets to talk to Courtney. People will be shown the same mercy they show to others in life.Another thing is I have called this location in the past to inquire about a registration and they told me over the phone they weren t allowed to help me (because at that time I had lived in Kootenai). I found out later this was an outright lie. It is required for any state dmv to help you.Very disappointed for how much I love bonner county. I will not be returning to this dmv. I would rather wait in a virtual line for kootenai county for 2 days, and be treated very professionally as I always have been in Cda.

5 star staff, very friendly! I was impressed by this so much due to the high volume of people, who some of them grumbly due to long wait times. Not a lot they can do about not having enough help in their office. But they remained calm, and cheerful in spite of the situation. To give you an idea of how busy they are on a daily basis, I was there 1hr prior to opening, and there were 16 people ahead of me already. Yikes! To say this area is growing is an understatement.

There was a bit of a wait today, but Shannon explained that several other locations in the area have been shut down or are on appointments only. It was not terrible for the number of people sitting there. It was nice having seating for everybody.Shannon was super sweet and answered all our questions with a smiling face and happy attitude. She seemed very knowledgeable. Thanks.

Very helpful! They were swamped last year with Covid and new employees. The lines are shorter now. They do a fantastic job and much better than a lot of other places. If you have some problems with your documentation they will help you get on the right track. Yes, you may have to come back but at least you will have a direction to go. Keep up the great work!

Busy as usual but overall it is to be expected. Friendly and helpful. Wait time was about 20 minutes but not bad. It might be helpful to have someone out in the lobby answering questions and making sure customers have what paperwork and info they need before waiting in line. No one wants to wait 30 minutes to find out they need more paperwork or info only to wait another 30 minutes once they do.

Pretty different than being in a larger metro area. Fun seeing folks that rarely leave the woods trying to navigate the world of state governance. Expect a good 2 hour visit. If you're getting new plates, park in the back. It'll get you points with the overworked staff and get you through a little quicker

When i called the Dmv, the lady told me all I needed for what i was doing was my drivers license. Sounded easy enough. So when i get there after waiting in the line I m told i need my title as well. It shows that they don t know what they are doing and there is no accountability. Then she says as I walk out. Have a nice day . Well too bad they already ruined it.SignedSteven mix ( irritated customer)

Went here as a new state resident to transfer my vehicle to Idaho. It was a long wait, about 2 hours, but once it was your turn it was very quick. The employees were very friendly. It would be a 5 start if the wait wasn't so long.

Had 3 vehicles and a trailer from out of state, we went 2 days in a row. The people that work there are awesome. Both days in and out in 1/2 hr. So easy!!!!

Got there early no seats. Sat on the platform. Having a conversation with my wife. She says they called 18, we were 17. We ran to the room.16 came in late also, got served. His person just said "did they call your number"? They would not serve us. Got a new number 44. They'll say it was necessary, but they were not loud enough. Hard ball

Best DMV I have ever experienced. It is sometimes crowded, as it was yesterday. That is not their fault. I decided not to wait yesterday. Came back at 8:45 this morning and was served immediately. My contact was Shelly. She was pleasant, as she has been previously when I have come here. My need was taken care of in less than 5 minutes. In the past I have had more complex needs, but they have always been courteous and efficient, and have been very helpful.

I feel the people there are very helpful and doing such a great job. People that don t like it are welcome to try at a different county. Nothing will get done because it is all by appointments only and if they have to council you back to square one. Give the clerks a little respect and you be amazed at how they treat you.

Hardly ever a wait, and even if the ladies are not always smiling they are always helpful. UPDATE, apparently my review got out because now they are super busy all the time. Sandpoint, it's time to move into a bigger building with more awesome employees!

Friendly enough staff. The wait time is usually ridiculouslyyy long lines, so bring a book and prepared to wait in the tiny little uncomfortable seating section... for 2-3 hours.

Spent the whole day waiting, only to find out they gave me incorrect info over the phone and that I'm going to have to come back tomorrow. I drove all the way from Spokane and will have to do it again because of this.It can't seriously be this hard to manage a queue of people. Is it too much to ask for an online queue system?

With what they charge in taxes. Why is it they can t hire enough people to have a reasonable wait time?

Great experience. Shari was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and so nice. We registered our truck easily and quickly. Our advice is do your homework and come prepared with all the necessary documents to accomplish your task.

Be prepared to wait most of the day. Today they're handing out pieces of scrap paper with hand written numbers on them.......

They close at 5 but don't take anyone after 3? What a joke
