Took my vehicle here when the alternator died. I was referred to Sun Power by a good friend and I see why they have a 4.9 star rating. I don't see many reapir shops with this high of a rating. After being referred here and seeing all the positive reviews, i felt good about taking my car here. I will be using this shop for future repairs on my vehicle for sure. This is an EXCELLENT repair shop. It took about a week or so to schedule my vehicle, so be prepared for that. I probably could have dropped it off anytime, but they are so busy, it was better to have it scheduled. In my opinion it is worth the wait. I took my vehicle in on a Monday, they diagnosed the problem and got my vehicle back to me on Tuesday. Quick service and done right! John was super helpful and took great care of my vehicle. Everyone who works here is very friendly. I ended up getting the battery and belt replaced along with the alternator. AND just like the other reviews say, they don't try and force unwanted or unneeded repairs on you. I really like that. Very honest and trustworthy shop. They will call you and tell you what repairs are being done and when you can expect to have it done. I feel the repair costs are fair and reasonable. Definitely better than taking it to a dealership shop. I would recommend Sun Power to anyone that needs work done on their vehicle.

I've taken my car in twice now, and I've had great experiences both times.They're honest and transparent, and extremely nice and helpful. They worked with my extended warranty company, and provided very fast service. Definitely the best mechanic I've ever been to.Their pricing seems pretty comparable to other places. To replace my cooling fan was about $600 including parts, labor, sales tax, diagnosis, and shop fees. To replace my starter was about $400. Definitely recommend them.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Sun Power is the best mechanic shop in town, hands down! This business is ran on integrity and I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else. Being a female I've experienced places taking advantage because they assume I don't know anything about cars. My experience with Sun Power is that they treat all of their customers with respect and are honest about repairs and the costs associated. I've been doing business with them for 20+ years and they have always done a stand up job. I would absolutely recommend them to all of my friends and family.

These guys are great! They know what they are doing, they are very friendly, I go in here when I am working on my own truck and have a question. They have always been willing to take a look and give me some advice! Two thumbs up!!

Traveling from Arizona home to Alberta, Canada and my car started squealing. Despite being so busy they squeezed me in. They found the problem and were able to fix it. So glad I chose this place from reading their reviews. Great customer service. Definitely five stars! Thank you so much for your help!

I took my car in to have a wheel bearing replaced they accidentally replaced the wrong one though it did need to be replaced I was going to come back and have the other one replaced because I couldn't afford to do both at the time but when I got there they said they were already replacing the other one at no additional cost I know it was a mistake and I would have had to replace the other one anyway but that was one of the most honest and nicest things they could have done I really appreciate it thank you

Can t say enough about this place My son recently moved to Idaho from PA and had an issue with his car I called Sun Power to see if they could take a look at.. They got him in there that day and took care of the issue I highly recommend this place and very thankful they got him in as fast as they did

Called to inquire price on a 2 wheel alignment, he said it's same price as 4 wheel alignment. When I asked why, he hung up on me.

This is definitely my go to place anytime I need something worked on for my vehicles. Fair honest prices and they work hard to keep you happy. They may get busy but they are always worth the wait for the quality of work they perform.Most of all they listen to the customer and explain all the options.Thanks again from a very satisfied customer!

Sunpower is hands down the best automotive repair company in the city, dare I say within a hundred mile radius. They are friendly, knowledgeable, their prices are more than fair, and they don't try to upsell you. They are also quick and efficient . Superb service. It's a while to wait for an appointment, but WELL worth it. Great, personal service, honest feedback about what does and doesn't need done. They performed a synthetic oil change and replaced sparkplugs on my Prius. I heard rattling several days after tune up and asked if it was related. It wasn't related to their work, but they diagnosed it quickly and graciously fixed it without charge. I can't express how happy I am to have found Sun Power. Honest mechanic! Need I say more? Be prepared to make an appointment and wait about a week or so to get your car looked at, because everyone else loves Sunpower Automotive, too! They ve literally sent us home telling us the work wasn t needed at the time and that we could wait on it. These guys are the best. I rolled into town half-way through a trip, with my engine a horrible noise. It was just around close, and no other places were open. They stayed late and ran some tests! Got me the information I needed to get safely on my way 11/10

I am happy everyone else got the service they needed. I can't say the same for us.. I was a little disapointed in how things went. We were told it was fine, took it home and than it wouldn't start again, I had to get a second tow after towing it there the first place, I will not use them again. However, I will at least give applause for not charging us, otherwise I would have been super angry.

On our way down to my grandpas funeral we stopped in Pocatello to fill up on gas and I noticed that I was leaking oil fairly bad. So we stopped for the night so we could get it looked at, as I feared it was the rear main seal leaking. Turns out John was able to fix the problem by tightening my oil filter a full rotation and a half. Saving me time that I don t have to waste. They were very prompt and got me in and out in less than 20 minutes. They are some true life savers over at Sun Power! Thank you again for setting my mind at ease so I can get back on the road. Wish I lived here because you guys would be my go to mechanics! I highly recommend these guys to anyone.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My car decided to have issues out of nowhere, as they often do, in winter no less and when the engine light came on I knew it was time to get it checked out. I went to a different mechanic in town but the price they were charging was outrageous. I ended up trying to find a better deal and came across Sun Power Automotive after googling mechanics online and called them to explain my situation. The combined cost of the diagnostic and work done on my car was over $100 cheaper than just the work the other place was going to charge for (and that's not including their $80 diagnostic that I had to pay that made me look for somewhere cheaper in the first place).The employees at Sun Power Automotive are some of the friendliest and nicest people I have met. They seem to genuinely care and that's hard to come by these days and they are fair and knowledgeable. They were very accommodating with me when I was having issues finding time around my own schedule to get in and see them and were very patient when I kept bouncing around times I could go. I highly recommend this place. You can't beat the prices, which are fair and honest, and they don't give you the run around. They also have the sweetest dog ever that hangs out there and greets you when you arrive.

The friendliest, quickest mechanic experience I've ever had! My engine light came on 2 hours into a long road trip, I came in on a moments noticed. They squeezed me in to get the problem fixed, were so kind and patient with all my questions and got us back on the road. They even squeezed us in to get us taken care of during an incredibly busy time. I cannot thank them enough for saving the day! If I lived closer, they would be my go-tos!! 10/10 for service and experience. Thanks, guys!!

My truck broke down while on my way through from out of town. I came here based on reviews, since I was completely unfamiliar with the area. Turns out it was a blown transmission, but they were able to find a really great deal on a used part which made it worth repairing. They're great communicators, which is rare for an auto shop, and they really bent over backward to make sure I was taken care of even though they knew I was from out of town. 100% recommend.

Updating my review from 5 to a 3. I had made numerous appointments for a vehicle inspection and was left high and dry. I was basically told that they were too busy even though we had scheduled in advance and then made prior arrangements ahead of time. This was very disappointing as I needed their help for disabled family member. I realize companies get busy and overwhelmed but this is not the service I've been accustomed to receiving here.Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

I am extremely satisfied with these guys! This was my first time taking my car to an actual shop and I was really worried that I would be taken advantage of because I am inexperienced with most car related things but these guys explained everything thoroughly to me. They were honest with what absolutely needed fixing and what I could hold off on for the moment. I am so grateful and will definitely be coming back for their service!

Nearby Discount Tire recommended Sun Power for service. I went over and got some estimates, but as I was traveling from out of town, I ended up having to hit the road sooner than I could get on the shop's schedule (a sign of a trusted shop!). From my brief experience, the customer service seems top notch, and I would definitely recommend heading over to Sun Power if you need some work done.

This is a great shop. I'm a recent transplant to Idaho and was looking for a shop I could trust. I got bids several locations and this was the best price with the best warranty. Not only that the service was amazing. They will go out their way to ensure you know what the problem is and how quickly the repair needs to be done for your safety. In short, they are my family's car care and I highly recommend them.

I have gone to sun power a couple of times and each time I have been super impressed. Today they had my truck back within five minutes of me checking in. They found out it was not a major issue and my belt needed to be cleaned. They cleaned the belt and had me on my way in less than 10 minutes. They didn t even charge me for the service. I will not be taking my vehicles anywhere else. I would recommend sun power to anyone and everyone.

My former mechanic retired, so for the last while I have been looking for a new place to go. Saw that Sun Power Auto had great reviews, decided to take it there and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly customer support and timely service. Clean and organized shop. Overall great first experience and plan to take my vehicle back to them in the future.

My heater core in my jeep wrangler went out and it took them less than a day to fix it. It was great it now works amazingly and the repair was priced really well, which is good because I couldn't pay an outrageous amount for a fix and it needed to get done. I'm very happy with their works.

Went in and told them I needed spark plugs, valve adjustment, and an O2 sensor. These guys were honest enough to inspect the sensor and plugs and tell me that the valve adjustment alone would fix the problem and the other components would last a while longer. Could have easily tripled my bill if they wanted to. They ve earned my trust and did a great job. Will definitely use them again in the future.
