It s unfortunate that this business has gone so downhill. Unfortunately I believe the owner to be friendly enough but over extends himself and his ability. The first year 2020 or 2021 I sent my new snowlblower to him to get winterized after season . I got it back within a month. 2023 about April or May I dropped off the same blower just for a tune up and winterization. Between then and now (November 20,2023) I stopped by the store at least 5-6 times. 4-5 of those times being the last 4 weeks. Each time him saying that it was really simple and he saved the easy stuff for last, and then another line was got parts ordered to do the carb. Today I go to pick it up and he acts confused and now is saying he couldn t repair it because there was no snow to test it. I told him I was just there to get my stuff, no more excuses. Sad that someone would run a business this way. I will never go back. To Ken s Rec World I go and hope for a better experience .

Mr. Mower is not a very nice person and his goal is to make the most money possible instead of taking the time to find the part and fix machines. We go to EZ Parts & Mower Repair on Pole Line Rd now. Small business owner run by one person. He listens to voicemails and does his best to answer the phone. Great place to buy the parts you need if DIY as well. Charges a fair price, may go over the quote if you need a part that wouldn't be much more instead of waiting for you to call back. Fantastic small engine mechanic.

Took my Toro lawnmower here to have ONE wheel replaced. I was quoted about $65 for the part and minimal labor fee. It took two weeks for the part to come in, which is understandable. I called them the day the part arrived and was told that it would be ready that day... I didn't hear anything from them for five more business days. Finally I called them and they told me it was ready. When I arrived to pick it up, I was charged $95 because they had replaced both wheels and charged me for both parts. I explained that I specifically asked for only ONE wheel and had expected to be notified if there were to be additional charges/replacement parts. The owner explained that they had replaced both wheels because the gears and drive system wouldn't work properly with one old wheel and one brand new one. I told him that if they had called me before to notify me of the additional replacement I probably would have OK'd it, but they didn't bother. They removed the extra wheel and put the old one back on and charged me what they had originally quoted... I understand the reason why they replaced the other wheel, but it is VERY important for a repair business to ALWAYS notify their customers when additional work or parts are needed. I felt this was a bad business practice and would encourage the owner in the future to ALWAYS notify customers when there are additional parts/ repairs needed.

We couldn't keep the pilot light lit in our gas fireplace. Mr. Mower sent out a technician to work on it. 250 plus $ later everything seemed to be fine for about a week. We called Mr Mower and told him the problem what's not fixed, he said he was booked and he said he would put us on a list and get back to us. That was in November. He has yet to get back to us and we don't want him to because we've got the issue resolved without his help. His technician was very nice and I think he figured he had the problem solved. To be honest with you, I'm not sure how he stays in business.

I had a good experience a year ago and so I thought I would try them again. They have had my mower for almost a month and they never call me with an update. I have called so many time and no one answers and they don't have an answering machine to leave a message so I guess they expect you to just keep calling and calling until they get around to answering. When you do get ahold of someone they don't have answers and they can never tell you the cost of their work. I have tried to get my mower back but they wont finish the work and they won't call me or ever answer the phone. I'm at a total lost here. I'm going to have to drive to their location tomorrow, this is ridiculous.

What a Joke! After purchasing a top line gas stove/fireplace from these guys two years ago, I still cannot get service from them. I have been made promises to come out and fix the fan rattle and gas smell for multiple times and no call no show, just excuses when I call them back. A month ago I went over to see if I could get my stove looked at and the owner said yes and made an appointment so I took that day off work only to get a call 5 minutes before they were supposed to be there when I received a call telling me that I would have to pay for the warranty service because he said they are not getting paid from the manufacturer. This frustrated of course after waiting on false promises for two years. I told that I would come down to his shop so I could discuss this with him and he told that he would call the Sherriff if I did come down. I went down anyway and he told me to call the manufacture myself and figure the service my fireplace needed I said that he should stand by what he sold but all I got were more excuses. I asked if he was an authorized dealer for Napoleon stoves and I just a shady response of well no but yes. I left angry because of the refusal of service and the pile of excuses i was given. I highly suggest that you dig deep before you buy anything from Mr. Mower in Pocatello By the way it would not let give 0 stars so I had give them a undeserved 1.

Not happy. Pulled after recommendation as our generator on motor home not working. Put a second year apprentice on job and then another person arrived and could not find the problem. Messed around for an hour we then paid the account plus oil.we provided oil . They changed spark plugs and said it was fixed. We questioned why it still didn't work.were told to drive 2-3 hours and it would settle. Guess what- still didn't work.Arrived at twin falls and hire company found another mechanic. The generator need major overhaul. Took two days and company who did the work hooked us up to power, provided access to stay in our camper and were honest and kind. The mower man was recommened. I am convinced they knew the job was beyond them but took the money anyway.Bad experience! Not impressed.

Called because we needed our gas stove fixed. We were told they were the only authorized dealer in Pocatello. Called and set up an appointment and was told we would receive a call from the tech. Never received a call. After a week of waiting attempted at least 5 calls during business hours. No one ever answered the phone and you can t leave a voicemail. Called Kool Heating Guys and they were on it. I will never deal with these clowns again!!

Took my money, gave me wrong part for pellet stove, only source of heat, snowing, a week to get the part, paid in advance, part was not the right one, he never reorder the correct one. Going on 2nd week, no heat, he cussed me out, lots of f bombs. Finally, ended up useing another company, and correct part was ordered , stove fixed by another company in 3 days.I'd still be out of money, and no heat, if I had not called Harth and home, salt lake city.

Hi, I just wanted you to be aware of the service that we were provided from Mr. Mower in Chubbuck. We are first time customers to your establishment. When I called to make the appointment, they said they didn't go by appointments but that they could come pick up our lawn mower the next day. (Great!). I was also told that to look at it was $40, if we chose to fix it with the information that they give us, OR they would apply the $40 to the work that needs to be done on the machine. So, we opt to have them come pick up our lawn mower on Monday (April 27), he asked my husband what was wrong with it and he gave him a breakdown of the concerns. The man also asked my husband if we wanted the oil changed in it, my husband told him that he would have to speak with me about it first; learning that it was an extra $70 and we still didn't know what the diagnosis was yet. The man left with our mower. He called back about 30 minutes later and realized that he hadn't gotten any of our information. My husband let him know his name, etc.A couple days go by and we haven't heard anything, I believe this was Wednesday and my husband called to check in, the person seemed very annoyed and said that they would call us by the end of the week. Okay... Friday comes and goes. We still haven't heard anything. I finally call on Monday (May 4) and ask what is going on. They don't have my name (or my husbands) in the system... can't find the lawn mower that belongs to me. Finally we get it straightened out and we figure out which one is mine. The man says, "Oh it's fixed, I can drop it off tomorrow." I'm like... I don't even know what was wrong with it. I don't even know what you have done to it. He says, "Oh we adjusted the valves and gave it an oil change just like your husband said to." I told him that my husband did not approve him to perform the oil change. I was not happy. I asked him what the total was since I had only approved a $40 charge of diagnosing the lawn mower. He said, "$174.46."There was ZERO communication with us. Zero. I handed the phone to my husband and he told him that he never approved the oil change and all we were told was, "Oh."We dipped into our savings and paid the bill. The man said he would drop it off the next day (Today, May 5) at 10am. Never showed up. Called my husband close to noon and told him that they had forgot and would be here within 30 minutes. 45 minutes later he shows up. I want an invoice of all the charges and services done on the machine, I ask the man for an invoice when he drops it off. He doesn't have one. So I ask for an email address and this is where we are at...UPDATE: Husband called and talked to Kris to try to resolve it and he didn't want to resolve anything. Said that they didn't call us back to tell us what was wrong because our lawn mower was already in the bay and to have to put everything back and work on other mowers for us to just "approve" it would be a waste of their time. My husband even asked who approved the services and he said he didn't know because there was no signature by it... Hmm, that's because it wasn't approved and shouldn't have been done.

The guy seemed really nice, came and tapped on our pellet stove and got it working..... For a little bit. Then it went out. So I called the owner and ask for a refund because within 6 hours it stopped working for the same problem. He said he would send someone out again but said that the stove was working when they left so it was fixed. It was not his fault that it wasn't working again. All they did was tap the fan but didn't actually fix it. Then he hung up on me while I was talking about the problem. I called back and he said I thought we were done talking even we were. They were rude and cheated me out of money and I have to pay someone who would actually fix the problem!

They didn't fix anything I asked them to. Charged me for things I didn't ask them to do, including sharpening of my blade, which clearly had not been done. They charged me $91 for a tune up and nothing more. I could have done all of that on my own. I had very specific issues which they didn't address at all.Take your money to anyone else. I wish I had asked around first, because everyone I know does not like this place. To top it off I waited over a week to get the mower back, and they never called to say it was done. I had to call them.

I dropped off the mower on Saturday 9/10/2013. They called Monday afternoon with an estimate to replace the thermostat.I called Tuesday and requested work be performed. Called the following Monday for repair status. Mower had been ready since Wed but I was never notified.Picked up mower. Took home and started mowing the lawn. Within 2 minutes of starting the mower started to rattle and sounded like metal on metal. Checked the blade and everything looked tight.Took back to the shop the next day and explained the situation. The manager (owner?) stated that it was the thermostat that was rattling and that is what I should expect from an entry level mower. (mower is only a little over a year old)I explained that it didn't rattle before the repair. He said they didn't replace the thermostat and that the choke arm had been positioned incorrectly and was holding the choke open (my mistake when I pulled the carb off)I confirmed that the thermostat had not been replaced and said that the overall problem I was having wasn't fixed then but the issue I had brought it in for was fixed. he told me I should have told them the problem so they could have investigated further. He reluctantly took the top part of the mower off to show me that the thermostat was the issue with the rattling. Seemed very put off by having to do this. When he pulled the top case off, a small plate on the side fell over. It had not been tightened and was laying against the top of the motor as it was spinning. They claimed they didn't take that part off (which is possible) but failed to reassemble it correctly as it clips to the top section and would not rub against the motor even of the bolt wasn't tightened.Tightened the bolt and reassembled. Mower ran great and was quiet again.Went home and finished mowing. Later that week looked at the receipt and saw that they had charged me $22 for a new thermostat, that the manager stated that they didn't replace.Went to the facility on 9/27/2013 to ask whether they did or did not replace it. The kid at the counter said the work order stated that they did replace it, but the manager and mechanic were not in. He expected the manager in that afternoon and would have him call me. That was several days ago and have never heard a word back from them. They just seem to busy to do a thorough job on the repairs and don't really seem to care about the customer after the service. Will not use them again.

Anybody that I had ever asked said that they were good to work with. The place is in a new building. It's very clean organized. Also fairly easy to get to. The gentleman that is older I believed to be the owner lacks in communication skills and is not very courteous. The only reason that I am giving them a 3-star is because they were nice enough to lend me a mower so that my 16 year old could get a job done that he had started, for that I'm very grateful. The miscommunication that followed this act not so much but we did get it resolved in the end and overall I believe that this business may have potential for change.

I am very dissatisfied in the quality of service and outlandish charges for questionable work done on my Ryobi 4 cycle weed whip. It was supposed to be a spring tune-up, new filters, string, but when I picked it up I had problems starting it, it will not idle, the guard was loose and no new line was installed, but charged $65.00 ... Now I am faced with a $110 bill for my lawn mower for oil change, tune-up and a new blade. Both are only 2 years old and were in very good condition, I had planned to drop my 3500 watt generator for service & a small snow blower, but after seeing what is charged for unsatisfactory workmanship I will seek a reputable small engine shop or just double their charges and buy new every other year. This has been a horrible & costly experience for a disabled veteran. I would not recommend this place to anyone

They weren t very friendly. When we went to pick up a weed trimmer (after it was there for a week) they charged us $40 just for doing a check up. They hadn t actually done any work on it, and said it would was going to cost us another $40-50 to get get the small part we needed installed. Do not recommend this place. They were lazy and unhelpful.

When I picked up my mower the gasket was in upside down he said he walked behind it how he could have it didn't run he said he cleaned it it was filthy the blade was bent it was supposed to be a complete overhaul then they kept it for 3 weeks saying that the manufacturer had to make a blade charged me $108 when I got tired of waiting for them to call me I went in and picked it up took me 20 minutes for them to take the blade back off ended up with no blade on the machine then after one mowing the wheel fell off it was a mess I do not recommend mr. Mower

Our pellet stove quit working on February 2nd and my husband took it to them to fix. $650. later, it worked 1 week and blew the part they just replaced. 8 months later, they say they're still waiting on the part.

My zdrive snapper was running bad. It took them a week to diagnose paid 80.00 for a carb job took it home with Same issues within an hour. With no confidence I took it to another repair shop immediately. They pulled the shroud off of engine to access the carburetor and found large mouse nest and 2 dead mice. Still trying to figure out what a carb job is, maybe a healthy spray of carb cleaner.Very unsatisfied!!!!

My husband took his rototiller in because it would not go into gear. He was greater by another man who said it would be cheaper for my husband to buy a new one and acted like he didn't even want to look at it for him. My husband ended up taking the tiller home and took it apart to find the shear pin (simple fix) had broke. The only reason we decided to take it in was becase we didn't have the time to tear it apart until we didn't have a choice. I will NEVER go there again nor will I EVER refer people there. They acted like they did not want our service.

Pretty bad customer service. I dropped off a trimmer for some repairs. Without even looking at it they told me it would be about $50- 60. When it was done they told me it was $120. When I asked why they didn't call me before they made the repairs, the woman responded that they don't have time to call their customers about the costs and that I hadn't specifically instructed them to call me about the increased costs. I assumed that was pretty normal. She argued with me about it and in the end I took my trimmer back and to someone else. Don't see myself going back here anytime soon.

You don't need to read this review to know not to do business with this man. Ask around town, you'll hear about how bad the service is...Everytime I mention the name, people who were born and raised here, know the bad reputation this family owned company has. A small job will take weeks, and then end up with an excuse why it can't be done...He will nickel and dime you for incomplete work, and treat you like an unimportant costomer...Never returning your calls, blowing you off while he has YOUR property in his possession. The only way I could get ahold of "Mr. Chris Mower" was to stop by the store...weeks and weeks went by, unreturned calls, trips to the store to be followed by excuse after excuse. Finally my patients ran out and I took my business elsewhere. If you do choose to do business with this man...and when he treats you the same way, do me a favor and leave a reveiw. So other people don't have to deal with this headache. There are fantastic, honest shops out there, but this isn't one of them.

Called Mr. Mower regarding a problem with my Quadrafire stove. He was very courteous and patiently explained how to fix the issue over the phone. Priceless advice at no charge. Thanks!

DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!!!!!! I took a hose in and asked if they had a replacement. The owner took the hose and preceded to complain about how no one ever has a part number and said how stupid do people have to be . This went on for a couple of minutes while I stood at the counter while rummaging thru boxes. Then he told me come back with a model number.

Lawn mower repairs done at a fair price. They are a busy place but they will usually have it done when told. I appreciate that they will pick up, work on and deliver my riding mower.

To make a long story short...... I gave them my weed wacker. They Gave it back to me, and charged me. Well, I had to take it back......... Told them to call me back about it 4 times(at least). Was also told they would call me back4 times by a rather RUDE girl who told me I need patience. They had it for over 3 months...... they then called me to come pick it up, and said we can t fix it, come pay for it ...........lol. What a joke of a business.

I have used Chris and his crew for 15yrs and these guys know there business. If you want to deal with experts in the industry, get the best product for the price, and have someone to help you out when you need repairs or questions answered, then this is the place. Don't be fooled, there prices are the same as the box stores, they just sell better products and service it.

This is an updated review, because the first time they worked on my mower, it was great, but this time they have had my lawnmower for almost a year and they will not answer their phone. Pretty pathetic way to do business!

Had my work cultivator for two months. Kept telling me the part was coming. Finally went there to see what was the hold up and he said he couldn t get the part. He told me to quit buying cheap Chinese tools even though I didn t buy it. Would not recommend them.
