I have been a client of DR. D's for many years. Mike is above all else honest. He never gives you anything your car doesn't need. His shop is immaculate and organized, fair priced and efficient. Your car is always ready when he says it will be and I have never had to take my car back to have it tweaked. He does it right the first time. I would recommend this business to anyone.

Doctor D's auto clinic Is it amazing shop. Mike check me in at the front counter and it was very personable... Kolter They're mechanic knows his stuff. I was having clutches shoes. And they took care of it very swiftly and very affordably. I recommend this shop for your domestic japanese cars and trucks.

I have repaired and maintained my in-laws vehicles for decades. However, when I m not in town or something that I don t have the tools or patience for is needed, we ve used these guys. They are very honest and reasonably priced. They ll tell you if something is worth fixing or not, instead of just taking you to the cleaners.Independent shops like this sometimes don t have the best of reputation or staff, but Doctor D s can be trusted.

These guys are amazing! I had A Lot of work done on my Chevy Silverado and they were very fairly priced and did top notch work. Everything went very smoothly. I highly recommend Mike. He is an honest, knowledgeable and dependable mechanic. I've taken a couple different vehicles here, one of which is my primary vehicle, my truck, multiple times (different thing each time). They're direct, don't blow smoke, and have been able to complete repairs quickly. Never had an issue where I felt I was being overcharged, even when I was super vague about an issue, they fixed the immediate problem and didn't go fishing to find more problems just to charge more. They've never done anything without explaining what needs to be done, how much it will cost and having me explicitly say I wanted the work done. As of now, they're the only mechanic I'll take my any car to.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes

I have been taking my vehicles to Dr. D's since 2010. I actually found Mike because I was looking for a mechanic & a friend recommended the mechanic next door to Dr.D's! That mechanic was too busy to look at our car, so we checked next door--so glad I did. In the beginning, when repairs were needed I would get estimates from Dr.D's and then check around town with other mechanics to see if I could get a better price. I quickly discovered that Mike was ALWAYS the cheapest. As several other reviewers mentioned, he only does what needs to be done without adding on extras & convincing you that you need to get them done. Mike always calls after looking at your vehicle, explains everything that needs to be done & exactly how much it will cost, and then lets you decide what you want him to do before doing any work.In addition to being affordable, Mike is honest. Several times I have asked for his opinion on what I should do, and he always gives me an honest answer, even at the risk of losing money for his business. For example, our current vehicle went into his shop for a repair (just 2-3 months after a $900 repair was done) and he called me saying that this repair would cost $525. I asked him if he thought this vehicle would continue to have these costly repairs in the future, and if he recommended that I should sell the car or if it would last me another year until I can finish school. He told me he noticed several other $200-400 repairs that will need to be done in the near future & recommended that I get rid of the car. How many mechanics might have kept quiet about those other repairs, knowing that I would keep bringing the vehicle back to pay him $200-400 each time one of the repairs was needed?In my opinion, Mike & Dr. D's Auto Clinic is the best in Pocatello. I have referred many friends to them, and I will continue to do so. I am a lifelong customer and encourage anyone who wants a mechanic they can trust & build a relationship with to use Dr. D's. They will take good care of you & your vehicles.

I've been taking my cars to Doctor D's for nearly 20 years and have always found Mike to be honest, fair, and competent; the three most important things when selecting a mechanic. I've owned foreign and domestic cars and found that Mike can handle virtually any scenario presented to him with a vehicle. I never buy a car without bringing it to him first to check it out and to give me his opinion on the condition and whether it would be a smart purchase or not. On a side note, there was one time I left my car on his lot on a Friday and forgot about some luggage I left in the trunk that I needed for a flight on Saturday. I was able to get a hold of Mike and he came over to the shop early on Saturday morning to get me access to my car. A lot of guys wouldn't make themselves available for that, but Mike did. Lastly, one of my cars came with lifetime oil changes from the dealer I bought it from. Whenever I take my car into the dealer they will give me a list of items they recommend getting done to the car. I always take the car straight to Doctor D's where he either does the work for less money or let's me know the work doesn't need done for a while. A mechanic that looks out for my interest financially? Yep, that is Mike at Doctor D's for you and why he is my mechanic.

We take our cars here we they need an extra serving of love. Mike is a great guy and an awesome mechanic. And his prices are very fair.

Only have good to say about Dr D's. Have a few thing worked on at Dr D's and they do a great job. Mike at Dr D's quotes me one price and then it is less when I get the bill. If you need work done on your vehicle I would recomend Dr D's.

Great place. I've taken my vehicles there several times. They are quick and inexpensive. Mike always listens to me and answer my questions with out being condescending. He stands behind their work and has never fixed anything without letting me know first. I absolutely recommend him and his crew.

New in town and didn't know where to take the car. Got an estimate from a shop back home and it was outrageous ($660) so we decided to wait until after we made the move as the repair wasn't critical. Well winter is here and the repair needed to be done. Just happened to notice Doctor D's and pulled in. The mechanic Mike only replaced what was needed instead of trying to sell a bunch of extra crap! Total bill was $190! This is my new repair shop in my new town!

Best car shop in town! Was told by another shop I needed a new heater core in my Yukon Xl, total bill was going to be $1400! A friend recommend Dr D's and Mike to us, turns out all yukon needed was to have it flushed out totaling $100. The heater works better now than it did the day we bought it! Highly recommend Dr. D's! He won't sell you what you don't need, and will save you so much money! Will not go any where else! Very grateful for his help!

I was traveling through Idaho and my son got really sick and we were stranded for a few days in Pocatello. Of course my car had to break down too! I took my car in 4 times for the same issue (coolant leak), because I wanted him to get it right. After 4 times, it still leaks coolant. He's either super shady or extremely incompetent.This is 4 times within months. Not years.Very bad experience 4 out of 5 times I've gone there. 1 star per visit that actually ended with a proper resolution.

Great experience going in. Mike was quick to get my car worked on. They had the best budget prices in Pocatello to get the belt replaced. I look forward to coming back here to get my cars fixed.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. DO NOT GO HERE! My family got stranded while on a road trip and were waiting in the grass outside while they checked the car out. The guys just gets up and leaves, locks everything up in the middle of the day and never comes back. All of my family's belongings were in the car; medicines, clothes, phone chargers, etc. He refuses to answer his phone so they walked to and paid for a hotel. He also knew they were from out of town and had no where to go, and that they were just outside! Then the next day he calls and says, "Sorry for the misunderstanding." He then tells them they will need a rental car but will order the parts while gone. Well, that was a week ago. My family comes back to Pocatello to get the car and he decides to tell them now that he doesn't know how to fix it. And not only that, but that he can't help them get to a different mechanic that can. Again over voicemail because he is too much of a coward to answer his phone or tell us in person. I am disgusted with this business and his thoughtlessness. If I could stand outside his business with signs deterring customers I would! DO NOT GO HERE, he is a crook and a lazy a$$!

My experiences started out well, but then I had a problem he couldn't really diagnose or fix. He called me, saying it was fixed, and when I went to pick it up it stalled again in his parking lot. He also was unexpectedly closed when I needed to pick up my car, which left me and my family in a lurch over the weekend.

Had a water pump replaced 2 years ago, it had to be replaced again last week. They were not very helpful in trying to get the info, had to call the parts supplier myself after it became aparent I would not get much help from these guys. Don't take your vehicle here. They don't stand by their work, and will not help you after the fact.

Salt of the Earth! Mike Deschamps at Doctor D s auto repair is the real deal! Back on the road home in less than 2 hours and did a complete wheel bearing replacement. Thank you!
