My husband and I have vacationed at this beautiful place every summer for the past 5 years and have nothing but wonderful things to say about it! You have breath-taking views no matter what spot you are parked in. The bathrooms and showers are kept very clean. The grounds are always perfectly maintained. The management and staff are so welcoming and always quick to greet you with a smile. There are endless activities to enjoy around the park (fishing, paddle boarding, hiking, rafting, horseback riding). We look forward to our stay every summer. Truly, there is no place like Wagonhammer! :)

We love this RV park. Simple, quiet, and enjoyable. You're just 20 minutes from Salmon, ID if you have to go out to eat or get groceries. The RV park sits on a nice part of the Salmon River. The river was shallow enough and calm enough to get right in.The owners are extremely friendly. You can tell they love what they do.Don't miss the happy hour on Fridays. BYOB and shareable appetizer.Nearby activities: Many local adventure companies nearby to take a leisure float or a whitewater rafting trip down the Salmon River.Food & drinks: The gift shop has drinks for sale. Three miles down the road at North Fork, ID there is a general store. It is a little pricey, but things you find in a convenience store. The other way down the road, about 20 minutes is Salmon, ID. They have a Saveway grocery store.Noteworthy details: The overall park is nice, but the spots without sewer hookups are the best. Right on the river. There is a dump on site. I believe it is free if your spot doesn't have a sewer hookup. For everyone else, it is $10.

The site we originally reserved was unavailable due to a problem with the water supply. We were given a choice of alternative spots and are delighted with the place next to the bridge and little creek just outside our door!Woke up to a beautiful fall day with fantastic colors in the morning mist. What a special place this is.

I booked this campground because they advertised as pet friendly. It was the exact opposite for me. I stayed with my one year old puppy, and my 10 year old very well trained border collie. I saw other dogs off leash, and yet I got thrown out because my well trained dog was off leash for a few minutes while I was training her and my puppy was barking. He was not barking during the quiet hours. Just during the day. These people are hypocrites.Noteworthy details: None

Great campground! Beautiful sites on the Salmon River. Campers can fish and swim behind their sites. Owners are so friendly and accommodating, and truly make you feel welcome. The registration office also features lots of gift items and fun women s clothing, jewelry, handbags and accessories. Some shirts for men as well. They were nice enough to let us sit in their lodge to have a zoom meeting we needed to happen because wifi is stronger there than at the campsites. They also have a selection of cold local brews to buy. Cute town of Salmon is a 20 minute drive. Such a peaceful spot with spacious RV sites.

I normally prefer to camp in Forest Service campgrounds vs RV parks, but I was super pleased with my 1 night stay at Wagonhammer RV Park en route from Colorado to Montana. I felt a little spoiled ! The owners, Kathy & Jeff, were so nice & accommodating & the park is pristine. The river sites have water & electric and are all on grass next to the beautiful Salmon River & stream. The women s bathroom/bath house was very clean & new appearing and they have a great little gift shop as well. Sites 31,32,35,36,37 seem like the primo sites just feet from the river. I may return one day knowing what a nice park this is & explore more of quaint North Fork, ID.

We have been to this park once before and liked it enough to come again. They have THE BEST dog park of any RV park! Some sites do not have full hookups, but we had power and water which is fine with us. The Owners/staff are GREAT. If you need to stop on the way south, or spend some time in this area, this IS the place to stay, especially if you have a dog!

Truly the heart of Idaho. If you re traveling through the Salmon area w/an RV this is the only place to stay. Amazing grounds among the cottonwoods right on the River of No Return. Base yourself at the Wagonhammer and enjoy day trips hiking/biking local trails, floating/kayaking/rafting/paddle boarding the Salmon, or just sit outside and watch what eagles and osprey soar above. Make sure you partake in their Happy Appy and share some appetizers and cocktails with locals and new friends. Jeff and Kathy will treat you like family and the Wagonhammer always feels like home.

What a WONDERFUL RV Park, RV sites were right next to a beautiful river. All sites had a firepit, but could not use it because of the forest fire risk. Deer crossed the river and got some nice pictures. Could have stayed many days just listening and watching the river, with the mountains in the background.Walkability: Beautiful trails around the campgroundNoteworthy details: RV set up right next to the river

We were given a fantastic site on the river. Campground is well kept and spacious. The views are excellent. Really appreciated the high service level to make sure our stay was great. One of the best private campgrounds we have ever been in.

Beautiful location, friendly staff, and fair price! We loved our stay at Wagonhammer. The staff was super great to work with, the facilities were great, and they had dog island for our pup to run around without a leash. It didn t feel like a cramped RV park and we had a beautiful river front spot. The lodge was fully stocked with lots of different items from local stores.Highly suggest staying here. Lots of ghost towns nearby too!

Ok, from the second we arrived, met with friendly folks, super nice. The views are great, sites are clean. We had a site that backed up to creek but the electric and water were on opposite side of what we needed. They gave us a pull thru so I would not have to dig out 50 amp extension cord and hose. They actually drove me around so I could pick an open site that I wanted.Awesome people, we will not forget this place and will be back but for a longer time. The views are beautiful, laundromat is super clean, 4 washers and dryers.Elk herd gave us a visit the first night.

I just literally can t thank my lucky stars we came across this gem when vacation planning. What a gold mine! Beautiful spot in the valley, the river spots are not to be beat! (No sewage on river front FYI). And the literal best part.....DOG ISLAND! It s an entire off leash exploration area for everyone right over the private bridge! Wonderful hosts, wonderful stay, will return!

So close to a five star campground if it were not for the swarming mosquitoes anywhere in the shade. Grounds were well taken care of, owners so very nice and helpful, showers and restrooms spotless and free, great little laundry room, and cute gift shop. Lots of boat launches up and down river for kayaking.very peaceful. One down side was the lack of nice swimming area in the campground. Spots were side by side so little in the way of privacy. Wi-Fi was weak but worked. No cell service for Verizon. Nearest town with groceries etc. is in Salmon so stock up before you go.

Really nice park. Definitely would return. Nice and clean restrooms laundry area clean. The front row on the river really nice but no sewer hookups. We had full hookups but the trees in this area are really a mess. Flowering Plum berries made a real mess of table and patio area. Very nice staff!

Fantastic RV park on the Salmon River just two miles south of North Fork, ID. Available sites with full hook-ups in the center of the park and water / electric sites on the river with grass areas. A dump is available for these sites for a $10 fee or a free dump is within 3 miles to the North. Great bath facilities and laundry facilities for $2.00 per wash and $2.00 per dryer load. Friday night stay? Make it to happy appy at the lodge to socialize with the owners / hosts / and other RVer's. Great off-road trails throughout the area. Wildlife sightings include elk, big horn sheep, bald eagles, osprey, black bear. You will enjoy your stay at the Wagonhammer RV park.

This is our second year spending a week here and it is always a wonderful place to relax. The owners and people who work here are always fun to talk to and take care of the park nicely! We will continue to come back and enjoy this place when we can! You will not be disappointed. Just remember to plan ahead with space types and dumping because you cannot dump on the river side. Enjoy!

This park is located in the most beautiful area surrounded by mountains that are home to all kinds of birds and animals. The park it's self is a wonderful property staffed with friendly and kind people. You will be made to feel right at home before you even get to your site.If you bring along your dog make sure to go to Dog Island. It is a wonderful spot where you can take off the leash and explore. A small word of caution, keep an eye on the pace of the river as it can run fast in the spring. There are so many things to do and see in the area. If you are a history buff, Lewis and Clark were in this area and most of the places are marked or on a trail. If you like to bird watch you have a front row seat to watch Bald and Golden Eagles. Not to mention the host of song birds that call Wagonhammer home. Watch out for the Kill Deer, they nest in the ground and will chase you away!On the way into Salmon we came across a herd of cows being moved to another pasture. They were right there on the side of the road, walking along. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. I loved my time at Wagonhammer RV Park.

This camp site is very nice. Easy to pull in even with a big rig. The people running the desk and management were really who made the experience awesome though. We booked for two nights and ended up having to leave early because my son got sick. The management kindly refunded the second day due to the circumstance even though it was clearly part of their policies. I didn't expect them to be so generous but the favor will be remembered and I'll be sure to recommend them to all my friends and family! I'll also be returning next summer. Thanks Wagonhammer!

We stayed for three nights in a 2/1 split in June 2020. Our spot was near the walking bridge to the island. Beautiful setting! Just like a park! And the island is where you can take your pups to roam off leash. What campground allows that?!! On the way back through the Salmon area we were able to get the same spot. Wifi is very spotty, but that's okay; we enjoyed the scenery. Owners are very friendly! We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful place to stay. We had a mishap with booking the wrong night and they were wonderful about making the change and getting us in for the night. Beautiful and very clean bathrooms. The river is close by and had a fun bridge over it. There was also an adorable gazebo that was fun to sit under and watch the river while enjoying a cold drink. The grounds were beautiful and the teepees looked like they would have been fun to stay the night in as well.

I ve stayed at this campground with my family several times now. We love the North Fork area. There is a lot to do from fishing, hiking, hunting, and UTV riding. This is a very clean campground. All of the camp sites offer electricity and water hookups. Only a few of them have sewer dumps. They have a cool lodge, clean bathrooms and showers (fairly newly remodeled), and a store. It s roughly 15 min north of Salmon and 5 min south of the North Fork lodge. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The Salmon river runs right against camp. You will usually see wildlife. This is a great place to bring your pets. My biggest gripe is the WiFi. There is absolutely no cell reception of any kind (confirmed through several visits). I have Verizon. The WiFi is extremely (I don t use that word lightly) limited. They told me they get Century Link (literally the worst internet provider on the face of this earth) and it s roughly 1 MB down at the top end. It worked for about 2 total hours during our whole 4 days stay this last time. 3 years ago they told me they were getting a big upgrade. It hasn t happened yet. However, WiFi is just a convenience and not a necessity. If you stay here, simply plan on not having the ability to send/receive texts or look at maps online. Otherwise, it s a great place!

Beautiful location and views, right on the river. Nice open grass spaces. Lodge was nice, check in was easy. There is an awesome island where you can take your dog off leash, that was a treat. In the center of the park is a huge grassy tree filled area. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot with a fair amount of water pressure. Our site was a back in, creekside site, which was beautiful! We had water hook up and electrical. The lack of WiFi was a challenge for our tweens. No ability to get quarters from r machines unless you have cash, so we had to wait to go into Salmon 20 miles away, to get cash for quarters for the machinea. Laundry is nice but limited hours. It was VERY clear and stressed that the lodge closed at 6 and all laundry must be completed by then, which makes it hard to do something that day if you must stay and tend to laundry (which we prefer to do at night)Our site did not have shade from trees, which some did have. Our picnic table was wobbly and seemed like it may fall apart when we moved it. The sewer disposal available at the park, cost an extra $10 to use, which was a little silly to us.Overall, we did enjoy this park, it was a beautiful place, and we would stay there again (without our kids, they need more amenities and we prefer kid centric places with our kids). To be honest, they did play some in the stream...we took advantage of the owners/Managers local knowledge and took a rafting adventure trip on the Salmon river into the Frank Church river of no return wilderness. This trip was really fun and included lunch and a stop at an old gold mine attended by an authentic 85+ year old sourdough....VERY COOL and much enjoyed!
