We had a major cooling system failure on our way back from WA to AZ in our RoadTrek motorhome. Every shop was 2 to 3 weeks out for repair. Including Mountain Home Car Car. Mike got us in and back on the road in under 24 hours. At a very reasonable and fair price to boot. Even hauled us and our 3 dogs to the Motel. Highly recommended this owner, crew and shop. These guys are fantastic. We always do our own wrenching on our vehicles and on our farm equipment. When an engine light came on and we could not figure out the problem with our truck we took it in and the next day they had diagnosed everything and not only fixed everything, but told us how to better maintain the engine. Their price was very affordable, and they not only solved the mystery for us, but they fixed the problems. Their service was very friendly, and they earned our business. I would recommend anyone to these honest mechanics. they did great work and had a great price and I believe they are people that you can trust and depend on.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Auto maintenance

We have been having our maintenance done on our car for the last 3 years and they have been great. We were looking on trading our car in and they were more than willing to check out the cars we were interested in for a very reasonable fee. The first one had some issues and we SAW with our own eyes the issues. Took it back to the dealer with a written write out of the issues and and the dealer was unwilling to assist in the issues. Got the 2nd car we wanted took it in and all was great and we will DEFINETELY keep using these awesome guys for our maintenance on our car. Honest and up front so happy to have them as our mechanics.

The true family owned business ran on principle. Knowledgeable welcoming staff, who will never just sell you something. The owners Mike and Tabitha, the best type of people, honest and down to earth, really good people , who do their best to help and give back to the community. Their service writer's are honest and will only shoot you straight. Mark and rudy truly have the customer in mind and their technicians are competent and very knowledgeable. Mountain home car care has is deep rooted part of the community. You can never go wrong trusting them with your car or your wallet. They do their absolute best, no denying that. Pricing is great for the service. If your military or first responder, they will be grateful for you business and you'll feel it. Recently my van started smoking and I came in panicked. The owner was there and he was so kind and helpful and stayed to fix my van before a long weekend. Him taking the time out for our family showed me he really cares for people and the cars in this small community! I will always use them for my car needs!!

I had an amazing experience here, everyone was super polite. I m always a bit nervous going into a mechanics as a woman, but they gave an appropriate quote for a taillight, and got me in about 1.5-2 weeks and had it fixed within about 3 hours, and even did a full inspection for free! The communication was always top tier, and I will definitely be coming back for any further maintenance!

Refused to work on my car because #BlackLivesMatter was written on the hood.Also, after writing this review he called me to tell me he is going to impound my car for illegal parking (after I told him I had a tow on the way).Police have been called.

The check engine light came on my RV. I was from out of town and they were kind enough to run a diagnostic test even though it was almost closing time. Mike and the team got me in quickly and got me back on the road in no time. I was moving my family back to Florida and had some coolant system issues, they found the issue and got the truck fixed quickly. They even gave me a call to see how everything went with the truck and the trip home. Outstanding team!!! Thanks!

We had a minor accident just west of Mountain Home on Sunday. Everything seemed fine, but we soon heard a scraping sound from our left rear wheel. Monday morning our car was taken to Mountain Home Car Care Center. We still had 350 more miles to go on our trip so we needed to know if the damage was repairable, or if we should get a rental car. Mountain Home Car Care Center was kind enough to promptly take a look at our car. The damage turned out to be minor and they fixed it quickly. Not only that, but they were kind enough to have someone pick us up at the hotel so we didn't have to walk three miles to their shop. We were back on the road later that day. The price we were charged was fair. We had a great experience and would highly recommend their services. I hope we don't have an accident again. But it's nice to know that if we do, and we're near Mounatin Home, we know right where to go.

I was very impressed with Mountain Home Car Car Centers service. I brought my Honda in to have an oil change and fix a minor leak from where the oil screws in. I also asked to have the transmission flushed as it was over 50k since it was last flushed. They looked at the fluid and determined it wasn't worth the added cost. Unlike allot of mechanics they didn't just flush it for the money they actually called me to make sure I wanted serviced as the fluid was still in good shape! They also checked and replaced the air filter as it was filthy. They didn't price gouge and they did a good job.

I was looking for a place to change my oil, and their website said walk-ins were welcomed. It turns out that was a lie. Of course, I could tell the dude at the counter had a problem with me the second I walked in. Guess they're too good for my money. Do yourself a favor and just avoid this place unless you're one of the good ol boys .

Pros: Great customer service and expediency. I needed to have my transmission oil serviced due to an incident when changing my engine oil. They helped me out, the price was reasonable, and overall the customer experience was great.Cons: The reason for my three stars is because only days after this service, I noticed a MASSIVE oil leak. At further investigation, I found that the oil drain plug was only finger tight. Fortunately my oil level was still well within limits, however due to this mistake, it could of cost me a whole lot more had I not known what to look for.All-in-all I have nothing against these people, and will probably go to them again when next I have an issue. That said, there needs to be an emphasis on the importance of proper maintenance. This simple thing shouldn't have become an issue and hopefully was just a fluke. Please use some extra attention to detail in the future Mt. Home Car Care Center.

Mountain Home car care is the best, the mechanic even pointed out hose's that need replacing soon, I love that they bring things to your attention so it can be fixed and not wait till something happens and it costs you a arm, leg later on.

These were great! I went in for an oil change and they found my air conditioning system was leaking. The total came up to over $1,000 but Rudy looked into my coverage and luckily I had an extended warranty that covered it! I walked out paying a small fraction of the cost! They easily could have left it at that but that 1 question saved me $1,000.Follow up: My A/C wasn t getting cold when I turned it on when it finally was warm out this past week. They got it in when it worked best for me and although they couldn t find anything wrong, they went ahead and did an evac & recharge at no cost.Highly recommend for anything from oil change to replacing a radiator! Thank you!Also, the inside was very clean and boasted an outdoorsy feel!

Had to get my engine replaced a couple of weeks ago, and these guys were amazing. Danny, Cory, Allen, and the rest of the guys are great. Kept me in the loop the whole time, and called me to inform me of other parts that needed to be replaced. Also, had a distributor issue and these guys got me back on the road in ~3 hours, including time for diagnostics and ordering the parts. Will definitely be going back.

Mountain Home Car Care has worked on three different cars for me since I started going there some years ago. They always communicate clearly and in a timely manner about the work that's needed.My most recent issue involved an electrical problem with a 30-year-old car (@ 200,000 miles). Pinning down the precise issue and replacing necessary parts might have been prohibitively expensive, but they found a creative way to work around it and got me up and running again in no time. The cost was very affordable.They've been in business for a long time, and it seems to me that it's for a good reason. I've not been disappointed yet, and will continue to take my cars to Mountain Home Car Care.

We were on an extended trip from Seattle to New Orleans in our camper band, and nearby it started making odd noises. These people did some work on the van including replacing the harmonic balancer and the radiator and another item, within 24 hours and got us back on the road, which was great, because we had to be in New Orleans for a wedding. Plus, they found after they completed the work that they had billed us twice for disassembling part of the front end to do individual pieces and cut the bill down by $300. Top-flight people. Very nice, efficient, professional, and effective. Use them!Service: General repairs & maintenance

The people were nice and quick, but they have 100% mark up on their parts! We needed a new alternator in a Pontiac Sunfire and the parts were 80 to 119 dollars depending on the warranty and they charged us $250 Just for the part (total bill was more). I do not feel that is honest!

Great service. Cheaper than any of the dealerships in the area, including Boise. The only reason I gave it 4 starts was because I was told it would take 2 hours and they took over 6. They did great work though and will be bringing my car back for future repairs!

I was referred here by a best friend of a mechanic there, told they would look out for me. $900 later I now have a blown car engine. At no point was I warned that their repairs could result in me not having a car or that the car was not worth repairing. I feel any car mechanic that can take the last of your money and leave you with no car, and then say with no remorse, "Too bad about your luck, not our problem." is certainly not a professional or looking out for you.

I highly recommend Mountain Home Car Care Center to anyone in the area needing their car worked on. They fixed my AC in no time and it has been doing great ever since. In addition, they provide very affordable pricing for each service available.

I took my vehicle here today which I purchased over the weekend. They were very honest with me said transmission was about to go out. I took it here for an oil change and possibly a transmission flush but since it's about to go out they suggested not to put more money into it.The oil didnt look bad anyway. I appreciate the fact they didn't try and rip me off like most mechanics would especially being a female. I would recommend them to anyone

We took out BMW here to have it diagnosed and where pleased. We then called to get a quote on our Subaru and the mechanic is the back ground was swear about us and asking how we F@%&ing knew it was a blown head gasket. Mountain Home Car Care Center did a great job at replacing my sensors because my check engine light kept coming on. They also helped me replace my serpentine belt and did that at a great price. I recommend this place to my friends all the time.

My daughter and her friends were driving through the Mountain Home area and had an issue with their muffler. Not only did Dave K look at their car right away - he fixed the simple repair and got them on their way at no cost! This is the kind of shop that makes America Great!! Thank you Dave!!
