Dowdy s got my car in same day and was fantastic to work with! Dan was so helpful, communicative, and transparent. He spent the time to answer all of my questions. Positive experience from start to finish. I will definitely bring my car back to them in the future.

We have had a few things going wrong with our truck and Dowdys have been wonderful to work with! Robert was wonderful to work with and explained things as we go. We were able to do things in steps by what needed to be done the most, to what can wait. I fully trust this automotive shop, which isn't easy to do these days. We won't go anywhere else!

I've been using them since I quit working on my own vehicles, they seem to be a very reputable. My 2004 Suburban just came out of the shop, it needed pretty much everything done. Robert was a great help.Addendum as of 2/25/24. $7000 later. Within a week of getting the vehicle back it started leaking oil, AGAIN. They took it back in, only to tell me it needed a bunch of new stuff done. 2 weeks later I got the car back and was told all leaks are fixed. I sent an email with pictures to show the oil was still leaking, ZERO response. This is my new oil leak it was only 2 1" drops when I brought it in originally. I will never use them again nor recommend them.Addendum 2: I was sent a personal email from Dan, the store manager, on 2/28/24. Dan acknowledged that he was unaware of the previous email I sent and just become aware of it. He asked me to bring the vehicle back in so he could go over everything. I couldn't believe the lengths this gentleman was willing to go through to ensure my vehicle was properly fixed. Dan, at the shops cost, completely went through the entire under carriage of my Suburban and repaired every last leak of oil. This is called customer satisfaction. I will continue using them now that I see the effort put forth to I was happy with the service. Thanks again Dan, you are truly appreciated. Brad

It was my first time using Dowdy's services for oil and filter and checks for any leak. I was so impressed by how professional they are. They did my car in about an hour, and gave me detailed info with pictures of what they did and what my car would need in the future. They were quick, professional and friendly. They definitely deserve a 5. They already have me as a loyal customer.

Dowdys in Meridian off South Meridian road does amazing work. Both service managers , Dan and Robert were amazing at quoting me prior to work being done on my car since I am on a limited income which made it easier to adjust myself of what was most important to fix and what could wait til later . In addition, their quotes were $500 and even $1,000 dollars less than other auto mechanic shops nearby that I called .I am so glad that I called around to get quotes from others. As a result , I will be returning to Dowdys for any and all repairs now and in future until either my car dies or me .

When our 2020 Ford Explorer needed a repair, Dowdy s got us right in compared to 5 weeks at the Ford dealer. They diagnosed our problem and ordered the part. When the part arrived the actual cost of the repair was less than the estimate. We were very impressed with their service and professionalism.

The TEAM at Dowd s (S Meridian) is great (professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly). Took my 1998 RAV4 in for a pre trip inspection and brake repair. No one wants to breakdown on the road especially on an out of state trip. They documented, including pics, all their finding and provided solid recommendations. Found the pricing fair, up front with no hidden or add on cost and work completed within their provided window. I trust my car in the hands of these Technicians. You should give them a try; won t be disappointed.

Dan Rowe is a hero!I'm a expeditor and had to drop off a freight ASAP. Dan was awesome enough to stop what he was doing and made sure I was squared away to hit the road and not be late.We need more folks like him

I m a member of Idaho fitness factory which is right next-door to dowdy s automotive. I decided to take my car to dowdy s because they are right next-door. They have worked on my 2015 Toyota forerunner on several occasions and I have been completely satisfied with their work. The gentleman in the office, particularly Scott, are very friendly and helpful and they will provide you with rides to and from the garage if you need it. Highly recommend.

I asked around on Nextdoor app for a good mechanic in town and Dowdy was strongly recommended. My car wasn't starting (cranking, but not turning over). I had checked the engine air filter, fuel pump relay fuse, and battery and all were good, so was worried this would be a costly fuel pump repair. I had it towed in a day early and they were able to quickly diagnose the issue as a dirty fuel sensor and fixed the issue during the diagnostic. Prices are fair and people are honest! They are busy and appointments can be booked pretty far out but worth the wait if you can manage it.

Totally my preferred mechanic. They always keep me in the loop on what the situation is (pictures included!) with what's wrong and how it effects my car's performance. Their interface is very easy to navigate when they submit you a summary and what your preferred approach to the issues are. Dowdy s Meridian South has been my go to mechanic for the last 4 years. They have always done excellent work on our vehicles. The customer service from the staff is unparalleled. I know that I am always going to be taken care of in a timely manner and for a fair price. Went to them for a second opinion after being quoted a crazy high amount for services elsewhere they were kind, thorough and not pushy at all they explained their findings and we ended up using them as their quotes were much more reasonable

Great place to get service done. I followed technician Justin from his last shop to Dowdy's and it's worth the drive from Boise to get my vehicles repaired. Dan at the front desk is a pleasure to work with as well. Highly recommend Dowdy's in Meridian.

Dan at the desk is always so helpful . We have 3 cars and have always taken them to Dowdy s. They are honest and have reasonable prices . I don t like paying a price for shop disposal and clean up, as I have never seen that before but I guess it is worth the price to have a mechanic you can count on . We are long time customers of Dowdy's - mostly of the store in south Meridian at 1890 S Meridian Rd. We ended up taking one of our vehicles to the other Dowdy's in north Meridian and encountered some frustrating interactions and experiences (among other things that frustrated us to no end, we were told to call around to dealerships and find our own part - and an aftermarket part wasn't an option even though the manufacturers timeline for the part was unknown). We thus stopped by our usual Dowdy's to inquire if that was normal and/or if they had any other suggestions. The manager helped us out with the other Dowdy's location. After that intervention, we then had a great experience with the south Meridian Dowdy's too. We've always been super pleased with Dowdy's as a whole, and although interactions with a new location started a bit rocky, the company as a whole ended up being the top-notch service we've come to expect and appreciate. (Although I'm hesitant saying that because they are already so incredibly busy all the time I don't want to draw others to them! haha!).

Motor and Transmission leaks, A/C not working. Diagnostic test to find problems, provide quote and completed work. Robert keep us informed of progress and when work done. Highly recommend Dowdy to anyone needing repairs of any type. Great guys to work with and excellent customer service.GV

I was very impressed with the excellent customer service, their knowledge and the accuracy in findings coupled with the clear explanation offering detailed evidence with images. My first time and they earned me as a loyal customer if that's the norm of what I should expect everytime I visit them.
