The visitor center has a beautiful collection of beaded Nez Perce items. A presentation of tribal history is shown in the theater which is large and comfortable. They also have a selection of books and souvenirs for purchase. I have been twice and would go again. Definitely recommend.

Worth a quick stop to learn a bit about the Nez Perce Indians. The types of tools the used, and a bit of their philosophy of life. You may also note the lack of the wheel and axle. An invention developed thousands of years before the arrival of the Europeans to North America.

FREE and very interesting!! A great air conditioned place to stroll through and take a travel break at. Lots to see, touch and learn in this small location. The friendly knowledgeable staff and the beautiful park surrounding the center were the icing on the cake.

This place is absolutely amazing. I'm so glad I took plenty of time to come and see this place it is huge with some beautiful Nez Perce cultural exhibits , hiking trails, old buildings , bridges and cemeteries and a park with big grassy area and old trees.. There's a wonderful beach along the Clearwater river that I had all to myself. Definitely worth stopping by..

Very interesting and a great learning location. I was surprised the video they showed didn't really include much history but instead focused on the Nez Perce of today. I was expecting and hoping for more of a historical story.

The Visitor Center made a great first stop on an auto tour of the Nez Perce Historical Trail through Idaho, Washington and Oregon. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, relating practical information on what to visit as well as fascinating details about the route and the history. The center also has a good selection of books on Nez Perce history, lots of useful brochures and maps, an auditorium showing a short film that summarizes the history as well as displays of Nez Perce cultural items.

What a nice experience this museum was! A really good movie and interesting displays. We especially liked the woman there that explained quilling and explained more about the Next Perce people. I highly recommend visiting this museum, especially if you have kids. Lots of items to touch!

We came here thinking there would be picnic tables and shade and a park, since that is what we saw photos of on google maps. We didn t find that but ate at a table under the shade of the building, still not what we wanted. The kids had fun at the museum type things inside for free. On our way out we drove down the road and found what we were expecting, a big park with lots of shade and tables and the old store and church and all. I wish there were better signs to show that those things are down the road a bit. Cool little visitors center though.

This review is mostly for the visitor center, as the park spans many miles and is made up of many historical sites throughout the quad-state area. The museum is small, but filled with beautiful pieces of historical and cultural value from the Nez Perce people. A short 20 minute video is well worth your time. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable.

You do not want to miss this! More than a roadside stop & reading a sign. Wonderful rangers, highly informative modern video on the history of Nez Perce people, wonderful Junior Ranger program and hands on displays for kids of all ages or the young at heart! Definitely on our top ten National Park stops! Our 11 & 12 year olds & even us adults learned so much!! An added bonus was being able to pick up the Lewis and Clark Junior Ranger books to work on as we continue our travels. Kudos to a staff that cares and to everyone who has made this Visitor Center as special as it is!

This was such a cool place! We got to see the salmon spawning and my kiddos got to become junior rangers! Tara, the park ranger there, was so helpful and my kids adored her. I am sad that we didn't have time to fully explore the outdoor areas. We'll be back to Lewiston specifically to do that!

I love visiting as many historic sites as possible. This one helps integrate the history of the Nez Pearce and dovetails with the history of the Lewis & Clark expedition too.The visitor center is not the first site in the tour of the reservation. I recommend checking NPS.gov for info first. There are 26 sites in total.
