I cannot say enough good things about Gathagan's. Eric was super friendly from the beginning to end. He explained everything in detail until I understood what was going on, and could make a decision that best worked for me. He was upfront about costs and options, and even told me when he didn't recommend doing something I had initially requested. I loved the link to view pictures and the ability to click on the work I approved or denied. It made me feel like we were in the process of getting a solution to my car problems, together. Will definitely be bringing future vehicles in!

Love Gathagan! Laura is awesome and accommodating, and Eric can repair just about anything! We've never been disappointed with any repairs... we have aged vehicles because we hate car payments, so we stay up on maintenance and repairs come up occasionally. Eric gets them fixed perfectly every time and does a thorough job! It's a place we can trust!Thank you both!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Excellent service, communication and without a doubt one of the most honest mechanics I've ever worked with. Living on the other side of the state I was worried about finding a place to diagnose and fix my daughter's car. Fantastic experience. Quick service. Reasonable price. Took extra care in putting protective wrap on steering wheel, seats and protective mats on floors. Went above and beyond typical customer service. Awesome service, will be my go to shop from now on. I m a mobile welder and rely on having my truck working properly every day. I got a second quote from Gathagan, and he was able to diagnose what was actually wrong with my truck which turned out to be 1/3 the cost of the misdiagnosed repair. Got my truck in, diagnosed, and fixed the same day.

Warning : You will be charged a minimum of one hour to look at the problem and work up a price.And you must pay in full to get your car back.I understand that this may be common practice, but a forewarning would have saved me $120.00 because I would NOT have left my car there in the first place.

I ended up not even using this shop. He was extremely helpful and pointed me in the right direction. Took the time and advised me absolutely free of charge on a very high performance engine issue. Nice to see customer service still exists.

Eric is AMAZING, extremely engaged in his customers, he was able to get us in same day, get the truck fixed and running with a few hours. We thought it was just a serpentine belt, he ended needing to put a new water pump in it with some other items and did it all quickly. His prices are great, nothing outrageous, no extreme over charges. If we ever have any problems again with any of our vehicles we will be going to him.

Eric is a very comprehensive mechanic who has a genuine focus on problem solving vehicle issues and problems. This is a clean, professional "garage" in the most traditional approach to customer service.While we've entrusted these folks with routine fluids' maintenance, they have twice addressed potentially-serious issues with plain English explanations, complete testing, diagnostics, printed service reports and recommendations.Grateful having access to this garage for my personal vehicle. Highly-recommend Gathagan Automotive for any and all vehicle needs.

Great service. Second time going back to him and again gave me a truthful accurate pricing. He fixed it really fast! Great communication on my car, notifying me about it throughout the day. Gets back to me fast! My car is driving great now. He's very nice and friendly and professional. Will go back again! Made everything such an easy non stressful process. Want an honest trustworthy knowledge machanic? He's your guy.

I am not one to post reviews, but I feel I should give credit, where credit is due. This review is for anyone looking for some honesty. Took my vehicle here based on recommendations of being honest and fair pricing. I can say communication was good and they were honest about what was wrong (as I knew beforehand). However when it came to pricing, watch out people! The part was marked up 3.5 times the cost, $61 part marked up $209.96 (not including labor). I understand 2 times, maybe 2.5 times, but 3.5 times the cost!! If you want to get taken advantage of, without being taken to dinner first, this is the place for you! It was not a difficult repair, but don't have time to do it myself, so decided to support a local business based on recommendations. I can't imagine the markup on some of these more complex time intensive repairs!! First and last time using this company.

I had the radiator go out on my pickup just before the 4th of July weekend...I called him in the afternoon on the Friday before the 4th and Eric got me in the next week after the holiday. I like the way he does business, it was done on time, and for what I felt was a very reasonable price. I highly recommend.

Our car broke down in Meridian, we are from Pocatello and had to find a mechanic who could take care of our car while we were not in town. After reading a TON of google reviews of all the local mechanic shops, we decided to go with Gathagan. Eric took great care of our car and got it running again. He communicated well and kept me updated with everything going on. ( Everything had to be communicated over the phone.) Although it was such a stressful situation, I'm glad we went to Gathagan Automotive, as they helped take some of the stress out of it. We will definitely recommend family and friends (and whoever else happens to break down in the Treasure Valley) to them.

Excellent communication and service. The work was completed when promised and no additional costs were incurred without consultation. I took my car to him for a second opinion and he was honest and forthright about the repairs that were needed and those that could wait. I highly recommend this shop.

Knowledgeable. Honest. Doesn t try to oversell you. He ll tell you what your car needs and he ll get it done the right way. If I ever need anything by done to either of my cars, I call him first to see what he recommends. If he doesn t do it (tires) he gives a recommendation of a place to take it and a brand to get that is cheaper but still reliable.

Called them to see if they can get me in same day. Not only they seen my car same day but got it fixed and running! With only having one car it was nice to have them take the time (when there busy) to help our family out! Will be coming back in the future *lets hope not any time soon!

In October 2019 we arrived in Meridian from Utah and noticed the next morning tons of oil on the ground from the front to the back of car! He was able to take a look the same day and it was a compromised oil filter. He said the dent in it that eventually cracked was likely due to tightening the filter with a wrench from where I got an oil change. (Don't worry it wasnt even on this side of the Mississippi!) Anyway, since I had a new one in the trunk he put it on and sent us on our way. Free of charge! Good guy. We will be bringing in our car for another part repair this month. THANKS AGAIN!!!

My wife and I highly recommend Gathagan Automotive and especially Eric the owner! Eric is fair, does fantastic work and is very patient while communicating exactly what needs to be done to properly repair our vehicle. We highly recommend Gathagan Automotive for any auto repair needs in Kuna, Nampa, South Boise or South Meridian!

Smaller shop with engaged owner. Very reasonable pricing for labor and he had my car diagnosed and fixed within a day. I would highly recommend and will go back there for any of my auto repairs.

Gathagan Automotive is a prompt and a no-nonsense Mechanic business that you leave without breaking the bank or ever leaving you feeling robbed. A car is how you get to work, helps you make memories, and all around important to your life. I came to Gathagan for a second opinion on a problem my vehicle was having. They were so accommodating and were able to figure out what was going on. It ended up being something that wasn t a problem and they didn t charge me for checking it out! I don t feel like a nuisance or a number here. I will definitely be back!
