I want to share my unique and amazing experience with Ross and his crew. It s refreshing in this day and age to come across a business that showed concern for my particular situation.I am a 40ft HotShot that delivers freight. Coming into Idaho Falls, I noticed I had a fuel leak which was very concerning. So I called around to other diesel repair shops in the area and ROSS DEISEL is the only business that showed concern and told me to bring it in the next morning. So when I got there at 8am Ross showed up and proceeded to diagnose the issue and within 2 minutes he found #1 injector fuel line had a pin hole leak. Which is definitely not common on a 6.7 Cummins diesel. So his staff proceeded to call around trying to find a fuel line. Since this isn t a common problem, they weren t able to find one in the area. It would have taken a day or two to receive a new one, which will have put me in a real bind, unbeknownst to him Ross. So imagine my surprise when I heard Ross say to one of his mechanics to take a fuel line from a truck out back so they can get me on the road as quicklyas possible. So within 80 minutes I was back on the road. I was able to make my deliveries on time. I can t express enough gratitude to Ross and his knowledgeable staff for making what started out as a nightmare into a Sunshine day.

Ross's Diesel was amazing. They repaired my truck after a different shop said they already fixed it. They were able to get started on it right away and didn't let it sit in the parking lot for 2 weeks like the other shop did. The final bill was less than I expected it to be. They were also not annoyed by me calling in to get updates on it. I will be taking all my vehicles there for repairs.

I was once at this facility and a customer came in and wanted a second opinion for a $3,000 dealer price quote to remove his transmission and replace a seal. While he waited Ross had a mechanic put it up on one of the 12 hoists. 20 min later he returned to say that it was just the bolt that held the dip stick tube had come loose and the tube came up and was leaking. He had replaced the bolt and all was fixed. All places would charge a minimum hourly rate. When the customer asked how much he owed Ross replied, No charge. I love what I do and I am just happy it was such a small thing that and I could help . The customer looked him in the eye, shook his hand and said, You are the first honest mechanic repair place I have seen in the 40 years I have owned a vehicle .Since then I have used him exclusively for diesel pick up truck repairs. He has always provided 10/10 customer service and a fair price. His shop is not the cheapest nor the most expensive. What I can tell you is that it will be honestly explained, no diagnostic fee, my experience and a quality job that he will stake his reputation. I believe he works on gas vehicles. His reputation is from diesel pickups. They lift the body off of them for major repairs because it is better to get to loosen and tighten bolts in a proper manner. It saves time and money for the customer.

Can not say enough good things about this shop and crew!! Driving from Canada en route to Mexico and our front drive shaft started failing - with a quick phone call Ross and his crew got us right in and helped rebuild it while we were gone. On our way back north they got us right in, installed it and back on the road. Clean shop - great prices - super helpful friendly crew. They go above and beyond! Wish we lived closer cuz we ll be customers for life!

3/4 miles from my destination in Idaho Falls, check engine light comes on and the pickup goes into limp mode.I spend the entire day prior to my visit to Ross' talking to the dealership, who told me that they couldn't even look at my pickup for nearly 3 weeks, then once I convinced them to pull the fault code, which lead to them tell me that the PCM and the turbo have to be replaced at an estimated cost of $6,000.Here I am, 800 miles away from home few days before Christmas and I can't even drive or leave my vehicle without a repair commitment and rent a car to get home in time.Ross' satisfied customer parked next to me overhears my conversation and approaches me to make his recommendation. I call Ross' and since it's late, they ask me to come in the morning.I've had the pleasure of meeting the crew at Ross' for exactly 20 minutes, while Ross himself had already diagnosed the problem, drove to pick up the part and install it... ALL IN 20 MINUTES!Cost: Less than $300, majority of which was the cost of the part.Who do you think I'll visit next time I need to service my pickup while I am in Idaho Falls?Ross' Diesel & Auto Repair... that's who!

When you're away from home and have car trouble, you hope you'll find a good mechanic. From the initial phone call to driving away, we were treated with courtesy and professionalism. The crew at Ross' fixed our pickup, treated us more than fairly and we were back on the road. Highly recommend them!

Incompetent or scamming a few extra bucks. Was quoted a price for repairs. When I picked up, it was $250 more than what I was quoted. After talking to them, they refused to honor the original quote and could not give an explanation why it was more. Also, they had to jumpstart the truck when I picked it up, batteries dead. Batteries continue to be a problem, and they want to charge me for diagnostics and repairs. There were no problems with the batteries when it was dropped off. Multiple problems with repairs that were supposed to be fixed. Bottom line, either don't use them or check the work they do very closely. Get everything in writing. It's a shame when these shops take advantage of people. Hope the extra $250 and time I wasted was worth the future business they lost.

They did good work at a fairly reasonable rate. They accommodated me sourcing my own remanufactured parts so that I could save some $$. They had no problem getting my shipping labels printed to send back my core charges after the work was done. Great shop overall.

We broke down just outside of Idaho Falls. Had our truck and camper towed to Ross . Ross was fabulous as well as all of the employees there. He had the starter replaced in no time and even ran out for the part. We have never had such great service from any other auto repair shop! Idaho Falls is so fortunate to have Ross!

We live in a small town with an all volunteer ambulance group with two ambulances. One for responding to the main calls and the other as backup. We had the water pump go out on our main ambulance and had some upcoming events that required both ambulances. We contacted Ross and explained the problem and he got the ambulance in the next morning. Ross put one of his best people on the job and he got the job done in less than 5 hours. Ross was more than fair on all of the work. I liked how we were treated and the speedy repairs. I can only highly recommend Ross" Diesel for their fair treatment and great work. Highly recommend!!!!!

Best in the business!! Ross amd his crew know diesel engines. Very helpful and considerate. We broke down he came to our rescue!! My husband wnats to bring it back to get some engine upgrades. We live 800 miles away.

I have known Ross for many of years. Trust this individual, no doubt, he is a straight shooter. With that said, running a business now days is not easy. You can't make everyone happy and some times someone may slip through the cracks. If you are looking for diesel repair, hands down this is the guy you are looking for.07.20.2323Sent a message to Ross 150 miles from town when my truck went into limp mode headed toward Idaho Falls. As busy as it was he made sure that he had the time to help me out yet again as I had a 900 mile trip back to my house. In and out in a day and back on the road. Great place to bring your vehicle without a doubt. Ross went out of his way to make sure that we got back on the road. He let us park our camper at his shop.. He came out on a Sunday and check our truck out and got us back on the road on Monday. He came and picked us up at our hotel. Cannot speak highly enough of Ross Diesel & Auto! Our Dodge Grand Caravan had spent long amounts of time at three different shops in the area over the course of four months and nobody was able to figure out why it was having trouble starting. It was so frustrating and I was nervous to drive the van anywhere with my young children for fear of being stranded somewhere. Ross Diesel & Auto took the time needed and dug deeper than the other shops did and were finally able to fix the problem. Our van is now running better than it ever has. They helped restore peace of mind about our van and I m so grateful!! We will take all of our cars to them!

I made an "APPOINTMENT" to have them diagnose a hard to start vehicle. Five days after appointment I had not heard anything from the business. When I called they stated they would call me when they looked at it. I told them it didn't make any sense to have appointments if they weren't going to keep the appointment. I went and got my vehicle because I didn't want it stored in an unsecured lot under a pile of snow indefinitely with not having been looked at. I assume they were too busy. I cannot comment on their work as I did not use them but the business end is run poorly. If your OK with them not honoring an appointment disregard my review. My truck never saw the inside of your shop and you didn't look at it until I told you I was coming to get it and we both know it.

I m so glad I found this business. I had a low oil pressure light come on in my work truck and I drove straight to their shop. They looked at it right away and had me back on the road the very next day. Thank you guys so much for keeping my business rolling. I cannot say more good thinks about this shop. My car broke down and I was hours away from home or anywhere I knew. Ross s made me feel comfortable while I waited to hear about what was wrong with my car. When it turned out my car needed weeks worth of work they made sure I had accommodations to get home and back to the shop. They are so friendly and accommodating. While on vacation and 1100 miles from home our truck broke down (that we use to haul our 5th wheel). No one in the Grand Teton NP area was willing to help us out or even take a look at it. We started calling farther out and the 2 friendly ladies at the front desk said they would be willing to look at our truck and see what they could do. The owner, Ross, was amazing and did everything he could to get us back on the road. Ross along with an amazing diesel mechanic got us up and running even though they were swamped! I would give this place 10 stars if I could! It was such a breath of fresh air to see that there are still good, caring people in this world. I wish we had a Ross' Diesel back home. Thank you again for the kindness you showed us!

I had a diesel exhaust system check engine light come on. It said I would be limited in speed soon. Ross's team made me an appointment within a week and the day I brought my truck in they had the diagnosis within an hour. They gave me a super reasonable repair price and once I gave them the go ahead they ordered the parts. My truck was ready the next morning. Absolutely Amazing. This is where I will be taking all my trucks . Thanks again for the great service!

I was in IF for the day coming from Jackson. Leaving an intersection my Cummins Ram started running really rough. Ross' fortunately was the nearest shop to me. They got me in found the problem and ordered a part overnight. Got me going and home the next day. I wish they were closer to me so I had a trustworthy diesel mechanic to help keep my truck running.

I love taking my pickup to Ross!! He is always there is answer my questions and gives me honest answers! The first time I took my pickup there we had to get a part that wouldn t show up until Saturday, I let him know I needed my pickup Saturday morning to head to a rodeo, he made sure the part got on the truck to come up went in early Saturday morning (on his day off!) and had it fixed in plenty of time for me to get in the ride to my rodeo. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs great work! I ve never had one issue with them here. Having a diesel I thought I d be limited to good mechanics but it always goes to Ross whenever I have issues. I m very pleased with them!

Ross and his crew are top notch, his service writer is very friendly and personable, I took my diesel in there for some control arms and glow plug, she called me 30 min before closing and said it needed 3 glow plugs instead of 1, and it would take them until tomorrow to get it done as it called for 1.5 hrs I explained that wouldn't work and i would have to bring it back. I was on my way to pick it up and she called me back and said they were able to get it all done and it was ready to go. They were able to get everything done on it that it needed, and it hasn't had a single problem since.I recommend them to anyone who needs work on their vehicles, especially diesel.Outstanding customer service from her and the techs. Good work Ross!

This shop is great. I was delivering a travel trailer and my radiator sprung a major leak. The owner was more than willing to help me get my truck up and going ASAP. They got the parts overnight and had me back on the road in just a few hours. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shop. The young ladies up front were very nice and friendly too. I have a 2013 GMC diesel pickup which had a check engine light on. I'm traveling on vacation from CA to WY to MT towing a 5th wheel. The check engine light started in the Jackson Hole area and I tried to have repair shops there diagnose and fix my truck's problem but they were too busy to take care of me without delaying my travels. From Wyoming, I decided to call the Idaho Falls GMC dealership but they too were two weeks out even though I explained that I was a traveler and couldn't wait that long. I asked them to recommend another garage and they directed me to other GMC dealers in Idaho. Pocatello and points beyond would be too far out of my way so I asked them to recommend a good local independent and they said ROSS' DIESEL. I checked their google reviews, 4.8 out of 5 stars. I called and talked to Jeff. He said bring the truck in as soon as I got into town. I did that the following day and saw how busy they were when I drove in. Their parking lot was full of trucks and cars waiting for repairs. But I was taken care of by Ross. I could tell right away that Ross knew diesel engines just by the way he was diagnosing the error codes. After consulting his computer, Ross knew exactly what it would take to fix the non-correlation of the exhaust gas temperature sensors and the bad glow plug. To my great surprise, Ross said he could fix my truck the next day and I could be on my way. He ordered the parts that he needed from Salt Lake City and had them shipped overnight. I left my truck with him that evening after dinner. The next morning at 10:28 am, my truck was done. I picked up my truck a little before lunch time, paid the bill, which was not unreasonable, and tried to give Ross enough cash to buy four pizzas for his crew as a token of my appreciation for a job well done and a job done faster than I could have hoped for. Ross refused to take the tip. Not only does Ross know diesel engines, he's an honorable man as well.If you are reading this review, do not hesitate to give Ross' Diesel and Auto Repair your business. Excellent, honest repair shops that specialize in diesel and charge a reasonable price are hard to come by. I give Ross 10 stars!
