Extremely Disappointing Experience with Custom Autos in Idaho FallsI recently had a truly horrendous experience with Custom Autos in Idaho Falls, that I feel compelled to share. As someone who relies on their truck for work, I had high expectations when I ordered a part from them. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare.I initially reached out to Custom Autos to order a part that they assured me was readily available, and I was required to pay a hefty 50% upfront. Trusting their word, I eagerly waited for the part to arrive, fully aware that every day my truck was out of commission, I was losing money.I was told that the part would take no more than three weeks to arrive, so I patiently bided my time. Those three weeks were agonizing, with the financial toll of my inoperable truck weighing heavily on me. After the promised timeframe elapsed, I began making inquiries about the status of my order, and this is where my ordeal took a truly frustrating turn.Each time I called Custom Autos during the 3rd and 4th weeks, it felt like I was getting the runaround. I made two calls in the third week and was told I would receive a call back. The fourth week brought four more calls with the same elusive responses. Finally, after days of persistent inquiries, I was informed that they couldn't secure the part. The contempt in the employee's voice during this conversation was palpable, leaving me feeling utterly disrespected and disregarded as a customer.In an attempt to lighten the mood, I asked if I would receive any compensation for the considerable time and money I had lost, such as a simple gesture like a sticker or something similar. However, I was rudely cut off before I could even finish my sentence, further adding to my disappointment.To make matters worse, I was then informed that I would need to take time off work to visit the Custom Autos shop in person to obtain my refund. This was particularly aggravating since I had initially paid for the part over the phone, and it seemed like a needless inconvenience.In summary, my experience with Custom Autos in Idaho Falls was an absolute disaster. The false promises, the lack of communication, the contemptuous attitude, and the unnecessary hurdles in obtaining a refund have left me deeply dissatisfied. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with Custom Autos to think twice and explore alternative options. This ordeal has cost me time, money, and patience, and I hope my review prevents others from enduring a similar ordeal.

Where do I start? I scheduled an appointment, drove 55 miles each way to find out they didn t have a spring compressor which was needed to replace the spings on my coil overs. So they rescheduled me for the following week. I show up at the scheduled appointment time today. I spent 7 hours at their shop waiting for a 3 hour max job. I was charged 59< more than the Ford dealer quoted to do the job. I asked for pricing on multiple occasions before the work started. Communication was terrible. Do not go here

I'm happy and impressed about how fair the pricing for five windows on my truck was. The tint was exactly what I asked for, and the job was done in a timely manner.

I am extremely pleased with the guy s desire to go above and beyond their already fair and competitive prices and warranty durations. I purchased some accessories for my truck a few years ago at Custom. One part was not functioning properly, but the employees took the time to fix it at no cost where there was no additional equipment to purchase.

I got my truck bed rhino lined from them and it looks amazing!!!!!! I have an older truck and there was some bare metal over my rails on my bed and some rust under my old liner. They took care of the rust and were able to go over my rails to cover all the bare metal. My truck has never looked better!!!!!

Went in to Custom Auto looking for advice on a gas tuner for a Ram truck. I knew their reputation for all things diesel but went in hoping they also new something about gas. They didn't disappoint. They sold me what they recommended and installed it a few days later. It was everything I had hoped for. They were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Took my Wrangler in here about 5-6 months ago to get it rhino lined new lights installed and have a suspension put on. Overall the rhino lining it's done well dispension was a 4 inch suspension ordered from Quadratec 100% compatible with Jeep wranglers it is actually stamped with the Jeep logo. I sent them the imagery of the suspension in advance and they said that they've never seen a suspension like this one before. That made me nervous but they insisted that is something they could do.once the suspension was installed I went to drive it and my jeep was all over the road so they suggested needing a sway bar. I purchased the most expensive and b fish sway bar that jeep recommends for a Wrangler again ordered from Quadratec which is a Jeep affiliated site. What's the sway bar is received they began to install it and then notified me that they were not comfortable with the installation of this sway bar and said they couldn't finish it leaving it undrivable. from there I had to get it towed to gorilla performance to finish the installation of the sway bar and upon getting it to gorilla I was informed that the electrical work was the worst electrical job they've ever seen and when going back through to check the lights several of the lights did not work. I also noticed that my rear-view camera was not working when they took the Jeep apart to redo the rhino lining they snapped the wiring for my rear-view camera and they never fixed it or replaced it they just left it broken. When I brought the electrical work the diamond age camera and two of my lights were never painted when I brought these discrepancies up to the owner he said he would work with me to have these things compensated and then he stopped getting back to me. Since this time I put thousands of dollars into my Jeep attempting to get it to drive correctly I am now learning from the mechanic who has it now that all of the issues tie back to the suspension being improperly installed. that should have been other things replaced to accommodate the suspension and they were never brought to my attention nor did they properly align certain aspects that make the suspension work properly. Since they had my Jeep it is never been the same it is still not safe to drive about 40 miles an hour I'm going to have to pay someone to basically uninstall and reinstall suspension properly as well as make all the necessary adjustments. I don't believe the shop has any business installing custom parts they do a phenomenal job with the rhino lining but every part I gave them to install they quote on quote have never seen any part like it before yet they still chose to attempt to install it leaving my vehicle unsafe to be on the road. I'll be going back to speak with the owner to try and make some civil arrangement for me to be compensated for the improper work that they did however I am not expecting them to cooperate and I do expect to have to file a civil lawsuit against the shop. I strongly recommend against taking your vehicle if it's a custom work vehicle to this shop for anything other than the rhino line.

Received a remote start for Christmas from Best Buy and they coulnt install it for four months. I called Custom Auto and they got me the same device and installed within the week. The service staff was friendly and the completed the job 2 hours earlier than expected. Thank you Custom Auto!

I called today and asked the installer if he could install a new grill on my 2005 Ford Mustang. He told me no, we won't install any parts that you bought online. I said even if it is a direct replacement part and made by Ford? He said yeah, you'll have to buy it from us. That's ridiculous. I understand if it was an aftermarket part but a part made by Ford and a direct replacement for the one that is on it, that's just stupid. Basically they just want to over charge and rip us off on price of parts. Then he added "oh yea and we don't work on Mustangs either...kind of a double wammy" he said. Absolutely rude. Then he said this is custom truck shop. I said that's funny. I thought the name of your business was Custom Auto, not Custom Truck. Why have the name of Auto if you don't work on Automobiles (cars)? I know I was treated rudely and the shop shows all signs of a scam. I would not recommend the shop and based on others reviews it's pretty obvious I'm not the only 1 that feels that way. Thank God I didn't have to do business with these tards. Avoid at all costs.

Hands down most AMAZING people to work with to get something done on your vehicle. Friendly and know what you need or want for your vehicle. I am a female and they are the only shop that didn't treat me like I was dumb! So I recommend!

Buyer beware..dishonest. Ordered Yakima rack with my truck topper because I already own many Yakima components. I also asked for longer bars and was told this would not be a problem. Topper was installed with another brand of rack and short bars. THEN I was informed they do not put Yakima on this brand of topper...but they would be happy to sell me longer bars and other needed components at full price.

Went in looking for a new latch handle for my shell the sales person said in all my years experience with shells I have never seen one like that he also said Wild things would not have one either... Well guess what Wild thing had a solution to my problem and fixed me up as well as being very helpful.Don't bother going to Custom Auto go to Wild things instead.

They're my neighbors so I've seen them put trucks together from the ground up and go to the truck show up with these with these incredible monsters that are just things you cannot believe very friendly service anytime I talk to any of these guys it's been nice just good people

I needed a custom tool box for my truck, they found it right away, had it here in 2 days. The price was comparable to the standard ones you can pick up at Home Depot too.
