It was a pleasure to work with Ray at Master mechanix. I Just purchased a 1976 C3 Corvette. It Needed a new radiator, all new fluids, and break work done.I just got the car back today and it s running Great! Breaks were REALLY bad before but now are perfect, and the overall sound of the engine is running much cleaner as well. I m super happy with his work and his prices. I ll be returning for his expertise in the future.

This place is great. Brought my 2011 camaro ss in for some routine maintenance. They found a few other problems. Glad they found them. 2 bad coolant hoses. Going back on Thursday to have those fixed. Ray is a cool guy. Very knowledgeable about cars. Will be bringing all my vehicles here for future repairs and maintenance.

This is the best mechanic shop I have had a pleasure dealing with. They replaced my engine quickly and made sure everything was top notch, also took care of things I didn't even know was wrong and/or tried doing myself and wasn't very successful at. They also did it for a fair price, I would 100% recommend using this company. Ray was kind enough to work us into their busy schedule. They promptly identified and fixed what was wrong with our car, and the total price for the inspection and repair was fair and reasonable. My husband and I are full-time RV rs and traveling through Idaho. We were on I -15 near Lava Hot Springs, ID when our truck began to lose power on the hills. My husband could not get it over 2500 RPMS even with the gas peddle to the floor. Our truck has been a work horse for 3 1/2 years of pulling our fifth-wheel and we have never experienced a problem towing even in the Rockies. We are making our way to Alaska this summer and will be traveling through high mountain passes so this was especially concerning to us. We pulled over at a gas station and I called 9 different auto repair shops (on a Friday afternoon) and none of them could help us. I called Master Mechanix and Ryan answered the phone. At first he said they were all booked up, but when he heard our predicament he came back to the phone and said that Ray the owner said to bring it in. So we hauled our fifth-wheel there and dropped it on the side street while they worked on diagnosing our problem. Turns out it was user error and we had bad gasoline in the fuel tank. They discovered this and educated us on gasoline here in the Western Mountain states. That was a very valuable lesson. Everyone we spoke to including the technician Mike that actually worked on our truck, was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. These are the guys you want working on your vehicle!!! I ve brought both of my cars here to Ray and work has been done quickly and reasonably priced. He takes the time to explain what needs to be done, gives options when options are available, and is honest in all his work. Would recommend Ray to anyone and will be continuing my business here!!

I broke down on the way through Pocatello. I didn t know anything about any of the mechanics in the area, the tow shop recommended this one, so since it was after hours and I just needed to get off the side of the road I went with it. Spoke to Ray the next day, and he said he would try to work it into his busy schedule which was already scheduled a couple weeks out. I understood being scheduled out, but I wasn t really happy about his apathetic attitude. I heard him on the phone; when I went to pick up my luggage out of the car, scheduling a car for service the next week. However, I felt stuck with having already towed it to this shop and needing to get back to work. After a week I checked back with him to see where things were with the car, and he told us it was one problem; that he fixed for $350, and after that he then told us it was the transmission which was going to cost $2000-$4200. Knowing the history of our car we knew it couldn t be our transmission, so we paid him for the work he had said he did and took it to a different shop. It was obvious at this point that he didn t really know what was wrong and was fixing things out of a process of elimination and charging us for it. We don t have the money for him to do that, so after taking it to the other place they took 2 days of testing out our car s systems and found that the work he said he had done still needed to be adjusted, and that our catalytic converter was plugged. Our transmission was completely fine. I hate to think how much money we would have sank into this car before he found the actual problem.Service: Exhaust

First: I have to give credit to these guys - they did a great job of fitting in an inspection on a vehicle I was purchasing. I was calling from out of town to purchase a vehicle down the street from them and they were able to do an inspection on the same day I asked for it. They charged a reasonable price and seemed to be pretty professional and responsive.Unfortunately: I specifically asked the folks here to check vehicle body issues as it had previously been in an accident - they reported that there were no issues they could see. The first thing I noticed after picking up the vehicle was that the driver side door sits about 1/4" lower than the passenger door from where it was damaged and repaired. This causes some seemingly obvious sealing issues - if the vehicle was road tested it would be pretty easy to hear from the road noise alone. Annoying but fixable. In fact I wouldn't have left a review if this was the only issue.My major issue: The shop missed a rotten rear brake hose that actually split at the caliper on the interstate less than 72 hours after their inspection (within the first few hundred miles of leaving their shop), resulting in loss of brake system pressure at 80mph. Obviously this could have easily ended in a serious accident. The only reason I'm not making this a 1 star review is that the hose may have rotted from the inside and not been easily visible from the outside for inspection. I can't conclusively say that this was something that could have been caught because I can't see what it looked like before the failure. I can say that heating up the brake fluid on a road test and then giving it a vigorous stomp probably would have made the hose fail in their shop rather than on the interstate.

After my truck broke down Mr. Ray went out of his way to take care of my issues. He stayed late Friday and drove 2hrs on Saturday to pick up a computer for my truck to get me back on the road. He also called a few days later just to check in to make sure all was good. This was hands down the best mechanic shop I have ever been to!

I used to deliver car parts to Ray at Master Mechanix 15 years ago and he was always pleasant to deal with. Having moved back to Pocatello after 11 years in Salt Lake, I recently had some car issues that needed to get worked out, and Ray was the first to come to mind.Great experience. He was able to get my car in very quickly, and I had my car back the same day.I used to go through a very reasonably priced shop in Salt Lake and they had given me a quote to fix an A/C component in my car. Master Mechanix was able to fix and weld a piece of my exhaust, AND fix the A/C issue, all for 20% less than what the other shop quoted me to just fix the A/C. Very reasonably priced, and they did good work.

Ray is professional, polite, and listens! I have brought several cars into Master Mechanix over the years and I have always been treated with respect. Most of all, I appreciate Ray's candid honesty about auto work. I just recently purchased a car, and I had Master Mechanix provide a detailed diagnostic of the two vehicles I was choosing between. Thus, I knew what I was potentially buying. I cannot express how helpful this was in my purchasing decision!

My husband and I were traveling our 16 month old daughter from Rexburg to Tooele on Friday during Labor Day weekend when our AC suddenly quit working. I called mechanics to see if they could quickly look at and repair our car. While Master Mechanix was booked and was behind business, they looked at our car, resolved the issue and were quick about it! So thankful for them!! Nice little souvenir/gift shop inside to look at while we were waiting to hear back about our car.

Short version, Ray is the most honest mechanic I've ever met. He saved me no less than $1200 for an unnecessary repair that a dealer told me was required immediately.Longer version, I was stationed in Virginia and before moving to my next assignment and driving cross-country, I took my Toyota Tundra to the local dealership for an oil change. When they told me my water pump was leaking and needed replaced ASAP, I thought it was a little sketchy. Temps had been fine; no leaks on the garage floor; no apparent evidence of a leak. I rolled the dice and declined the repair (which was quoted at $1200 for the part, not including labor). When I got to Idaho, I asked a family member who they'd recommended so I could get a second opinion. When I took my truck to Ray, I told him that if he found any evidence of a leak to just pull the trigger and replace the pump. He easily could have "found a leak" and I would have been forced to grimace as I handed him my credit card. Not only did he fail to find a leak, he took pictures to prove that all was right with the pump.Full disclosure, since he didn't do any repairs I can't attest to the quality of his work. But honesty/integrity aren't always the first qualities that come to mind with mechanics. Ray's honesty is beyond reproach. I'd take any of my vehicles to him without a second thought.Thanks, Ray!

I have brought several of my vehicles in to Master Mechanix for troubleshooting and repair over the last 15 years I have lived in the Pocatello area. Their pricing is very reasonable, the repairs are quick and I have never been disappointed or unsatisfied with the service. Their work is always top notch! Ray always takes the time to explain options, pricing and repair time and doesn't ever attempt to "pile on" a bunch of other work. I continuously recommend Master Mechanix to family and friends.

Ray has worked on two vehicles for me. Both experiences went great. Pricing was fair and honest. Ray was a pleasure to work with. He even took care of an annoying howl in me 65 Corvair. The "mechanic" who sold me the car was totally wrong about the noise but Ray diagnosed and fixed it for less than $100.00. Thanks for the great service!

I looked at the reviews online and decided to give Master Mechanix a try and was not disappointed. They fixed my truck in like a quarter of the time I was expecting and at a incredibly reasonable price. Ever since I have been driving I have never had Good experiences with mechanics but this is the exception. They were very nice and did not try and sell me a bunch of stuff I did not need. Next time any of my vehicles has a problem I know where I will be going.

I had my vehicle towed here for repairs after a breakdown on the freeway a few weeks ago and, although they were a little backed up due to bad weather, they figured the problem out quickly and let me know exactly what to expect in cost. The part that broke was still under warranty by the manufacturer, so Master Mechanix took care of the work and warranty reimbursement with me only having to pay for the initial diagnosis! Very happy with how everything went and would recommend these guys to anyone. Thanks!

My car broke down in Pocatello (I live in Blackfoot) and a friend recommended Master Mechanix. They fit me in right away and were very friendly and FAST with the repair. I also had them fix my check engine light problem and when I picked it up the light came back on. It was another minor problem and they fixed it free of charge, again in a very timely fashion. Very pleased with these guys! I'll be back for sure. Most of all, I like that they treat me just like any other person and don't assume I'm completely ignorant to cars just because I'm a young female!

Expert service. I found them when looking through google reviews and decided to try them. I have gone back every time my motorhome needs service. All repairs have been done right the first time and I never have to go back for the same issue. Every oil change they check out a list of items and they know exactly what pressure is in each tire and let me know if it is not the same as on the sticker. They cost more then some, but you do not have to go back because of poor repairs. I highly recommend them.

They are the most honest people I have taken my car to. When my cars are done they always show me the parts the replace. They explain things very well to make you understand diffidently to someone that does not know a lot about cars. We needed to get my grandsons truck in for repairs and called a couple of places but couldn't get in for a couple of weeks so my son said call Master Mechanix so I did. Ray said bring it right over and had it fixed in a couple of hrs. And the charge was very reasonable. He is definitely our new mechanic. Fast and courteous service!

Best general mechanic I've ever been to. I've always gone to the dealership where I've got my car because they are they only ones i trust even though they are very expensive. i came here because the dealership said they didn't have the parts to do the job and recommended master mechanix. very fast and cheap. very happy with the service and will go back in the future.

While staying in Pocatello for a few days, my car developed an oil leak. I searched online for local auto repair shops and picked this one based on the great reviews it got in Google. I was not disappointed. I made an appointment for the next morning. They took my car in right away, quickly found the problem and repaired it. They also noted a couple of other problems and asked if I wanted them fixed. No pressure at all; just good honest service at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

I moved to Pocatello in 2011, so I was a out of towner. Master Mechanic was mentioned to me by another satisfied customer as a excellent source for my auto repair needs. That in itself is a plus, in that they already have a list of satisfied clientele ready to spread the word for them.I've used Master Mechanic on several occasions all dealing with either my 1998 Durango, or just lately, a wiring problem on my utility trailer. On each occasion they have given me all the information I needed to make the proper choice of repair. Their shop rate is reasonable, and I don't feel that I've been gouged for any prices I've paid for parts to repair my rigs either. In fact, they seem to go out of their way to give me a good deal and experience by providing several scenarios for me to choose as far as replacing and pricing of parts, ect.All in all, I'm very pleased with Master Mechanic, and will continue to bring my auto repair needs to them.Jon

After reading several Google reviews, we tried out Master Mechanix. Just as others have said, these guys are extremely down-to-earth, honest, and open. They did high-quality work on our car and were neither pushy or sales-y. They were also willing to explain everything that was going on, even to laymen like us. They have DEFINITELY won our trust and loyalty

Highly recommend Master Mechanix. Ray just completed repairs on a Kia Rondo. Repairs needed were accurately diagnosed, pricing was honest, and repairs were completed in a timely manner. Car runs much better.

Mechanics unaware of what was wrong made the problem worse ruined my engine. when I took it back to them after driving 3 miles they refused to give a refund or fix it had to replace the engine. Daves automotive had to put a new engine in. Dont trust them with your vehicle unless is a minor problem.
