This is a fantastic campground on the weekends. During the week, you have logging trucks on the main roads, using compression breaks. Not their fault. The campsites, bathrooms, water stations, and lake are very clean and well maintained. It's a shame they have decided to allow small gas motors on the lake. Nice family camping.Restrooms: Lots of outhouses spread around all through the area.1Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed. They must be kept in the campsites or on a leash.Picnic area: There are some picnic areas by the lake. Mostly camping.

Awesome location! Full hookups! Spaces are tight compared to Forest Service spots but the atmosphere and full hookups for a great price made up for it. The hosts at the Campground were great! Only good for RVs as there are no bathroom amenities on site. The General Store and the Log Lodge restaurant were just a quick walk and both had great food and service. The Huckleberry Ice-cream and pancakes were to die for. Great fishing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and quad riding all right there. We will be back!

We had so much fun at this place; our first visit but we will definitely be back! Super friendly people, great hosts, close to hiking and seconds away from the reservoir! Fun local restaurant and bar, and wonderful huckleberry ice cream to be had at the Elk River Lodge & General Store! What a treasure!

The only reason I give this review 2 stars - is because the teenage boy that checked us in was very nice and the room was clean - other than that 0 stars. We reserved through Whispering Pines a room with two double beds - the double beds would have been fine for us and I did inform them I was bringing my two dogs and asked if I should be concerned or know anything. I did not receive an answer so assumed this wouldn't be a problem - once they close their store, you must access the room from the back of the building, through a door that is "always" unlocked via a very steep, long stairway - ok, we carried our 14.5 year old goldendoodle and luggage up the steep stairs and tried to settle in. #7 - the room with two double beds is basically a closet - there is no air conditioning or window to get any air flow. No fan. My husband and I realized there was no way we could leave our dogs in that room while we attended the wedding that we came to town for the next day. We couldn't breath in the room, much less leave our dogs in there to attend the wedding. We got back into our air conditioned car and tried to figure out what to do. We called - the manager wouldn't get on the phone and made the nice teenage boy inform us there was "no way" to give us a refund on the room - even for the second night that was booked. So we drove the 3 hours back home and missed my nephews wedding. (there were no others rooms anywhere close at this point) - Very disappointed in the way we were treated and expected to stay in a sauna - I am not sure how the stairs could even meet a fire code. Please ask many questions if you have to stay with this establishment or bring your tent - you would be safer.

The spots are small but everyone is friendly. Great location.Be aware that they don't have any restrooms or showers. They also don't advertise that they do. But have you ever been to a campground that doesn't have a bathroom somewhere? Not an issue if you're in something self contained but was a surprise to sue in our pop-up.

Horrible horrible horrible service. I called in Feb 2020 for a reservation in Aug 2020. I reserved spot 26, which I was told was a long pull thru spot for my 45 foot 5th wheel. I called and confirmed 2 weeks prior to arriving to ensure they were still open due to Covid and that I still had my spot. I was told everything was a go. Upon arrival today (after a 3 hour drive one way) I was informed they gave my spot to their cousin and they wanted to put me in a 30 foot back-in spot. The owner Steve said it would it fit because it was actually 2 spaces. Upon looking at the spot there was no way. It was 2 spots, but only 30 foot deep spots side by side. Needless to say we left and it was a total waste of time. I asked why they didn t call me to cancel and they had no response. Steve even hid out when I went into their office/store for a refund. While I was there I looked a spot 26 and it is not a pull thru. It is a parallel parking spot. THIS IS A TOTAL UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS! If any business deserves 0 stars this is it.
