Ordered a $4800 T5 Hydraulic clutch kit for my 65 Mustang. Ordered the kit with a gentleman named Russ. Started off well. However, MANY items he sent were wrong for my application. I did explain everything in detail what I needed. Wrongs items were fluid, clutch kit, flywheel, clutch fork, and shifter assembly (which I had to grind to make work). I got back in touch with them multiple times trying to explain some of the parts I received from them were wrong. The flywheel for example, was probably a cheap Chinese junk pos that wasn t the correct weight. Had it on the car driving for not even 300 miles and it vibrated my car to pieces. The clutch kit was for a coyote, and the clutch fork was for an SN Mustang. Eventually ordered the correct parts through local parts stores and fixed all my issues. However, the return process has been an UTTER NIGHTMARE. I sent back a package in a new clutch box than I had to get which contained an incorrect clutch kit, clutch fork, and a Speedo cable that I did not need. I sent it in the mail by UPS, dropped it off and waited. Heard back a little while longer and was notified they had received the package but the package was COMPLETELY Empty. Over $400 worth of parts just happened to vanish. ModernDriveline claims they didn t tamper with the package and will not initiate a claim through UPS to assist me with this situation. Out of many of the customer service reps I ve spoken too I felt have all been trying to dismiss this incident and will not return my calls or help me when I actually get through to someone.Second note, the flywheel. Was wrong and I sent it back. Attached here you can see the level of pettiness Russ responded after he saw what flywheel I have sent back.Overall the parts I need reimbursed for totals just over $500 and these guys are making no effort to correct this.In conclusion, I had high hopes for this company to have an almost seamless process. Started off on cloud 9 but quickly fell down to nothing. I wish ModernDriveline will see this and actually care to get in touch and attempt to make this right.

Cannot say enough good things about these guys. Bruce and his crew not only provide great products and advice, but also outstanding tech support and customer service. If you're in need of a new transmission or are looking to do a swap, these are the guys and gals you want to work with.It's been two years now and I still cannot say enough about this company and the level of service they provide. You can buy a Tremec transmission a lot of places, but I don't know why you'd go anywhere else.Service: Transmission

We have done two conversions with Modern Driveline, one on a 68' Fastback Mustang with a 428FE, and another 66' Corvette with an Aluminum 427. They have been the most technical and helpful of all of the vendors we've used for various different applications. The quality of their machining and parts are outstanding. They always fit and they look fantastic as well. Thank you to Paul and Bruce!

I m a novice with transmissions. Working with Bret and Bruce made the whole process simple - they helped me not only with executing on the tremec 6 speed, but ensuring everything I needed to mate it to my BBC 496 in my 66 chevelle was discussed , scoped out and provided. I will not be going anywhere else for my next project, and the next one, and next one :) Please don t hesitate to reach out they helped me tremendously and I m so happy I have my chevelle on the streets!Service: Transmission

This was my first attempt at an auto to manual conversion. I decided to do it as a COVID project. Modern Driveline made it simple with their kit for my vehicle (1967 Chevrolet Camaro). It included everything I needed and clear instructions on how to perform the process. They were patient and helpful with my phone calls and emails.I'd highly recommend this organization for anyone who is considering an automatic to manual conversion.Service: Transmission

Customer service here is exceptional! Drove from Seattle to there shop in idaho for tko 600 overhaul.they had it done in one day ,Mark there technician is top notch, and a pleasure doing with Bruce and the guys there are experts in their feild.highly recommend Modern driveline.

I bought a Tremec 5 Speed with hydraulic clutch it was a easy Chang out put this in my 64 F100 with a 223 they make it so easy and Modern Driveline do you understand and make happen I don t do this for a living I do service on equipment, but not automobiles best thing I ever did change that old truck immensely

I would stay away from MDL. Got a kit from them told me the clutch would work and it didn't. Nothing but problems. Gave me the wrong clutch for my kit and didn t even honor their mess up and send me the correct clutch. Went back and fourth with them for two years, they didn't honor anything kept selling me parts stating it would fix it, which it never did. Took it to multiple shops around me saying it's the clutch. They wouldn't even make it right withme. Spent over $6000 with and they didn t do anything to help. Every time I would call they would go on how these transmissions and clutches need to be installed with the correct measurements for it to work. UPDATEDefinitely something isn t adding up when me and my tech listened to them. But every time i would replace my slave this would happen. They noted, and still same issue. But when i replaced my clutch from their single to twin that problem went away.Service: Transmission

Purchased the Tremec T5 for my 65 Mustang. Modern Driveline thought of everything going from a C4 Automatic to a 5-speed. From the transminssion, to the clutch pedal, down to the clip that secures the speedometer gear! It was all inclusive and was not in need of any forgotton or missing parts. The new T-5 provides a whole new driving experience! In addition to the complete kit that was provided, it's the intangibles that I got from MD that made the installation easier. Matthew went out of his way to provide personal photos of his install (coincidently he had the same car and did a similar changeout), that helped me when I had questions. He searched the web providing a very handy diagram that helped a great deal. Thanks again for a great product and service!

Modern Driveline is a absolutely impeccable company. I have a 1967 mustang that I recently installed a T5 transmission into it from a donor car. The extent of my mechanical knowledge on vehicles has always been oil changes, brake pads and rotors and small easy bolt on applications so this task was a bit intimidating to me at first. I read countless articles and watched many videos before I attempted the swap myself. I called Modern Driveline on multiple occasions to ask questions that may have been obvious, but they never hesitated to walk me through anything I wanted to know. They never made me feel dumb and always supported my project even through I did not purchase the transmission from them. Some companies won't even answer a question if the product wasn't purchased through them. They offered tons of resources to and first hand knowledge to help me not only understand how it works, but what to look for. When I was ready to purchase parts to complete my swap, they gave me everything that I needed and even offer a military discount. I could go on and on with plenty of examples, I cannot recommend this company enough and will continue to support them with my business.Service: Transmission

Thanks for great parts and service. I finished two T5 installs one in a 65 Mustang and one in a 32 Ford coupe. Everything went smoothly with these complete kits. Both these cars run great.

I was very happy with your assistance throughout my purchase and installation of the T5. You were helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate your patience working with a novice like myself.I am extremely pleased with the performance of the transmission! The car s performance is dramatically better. Before, it was a struggle for the car to do more than about 55 mph, making interstate driving nerve racking. Now, with the 5 speed, it cruises along with traffic at 80 mph and at less than 2400 rpm. I purchased a transmission from Modern Driveline and had an issue with it. Bruce and his crew Alan and Paul worked with me and took care of the issue. I have enjoyed working with modern driveline on my build. They supplied me with a t56 and all the required items to make it fit my SBF Factory Five Coupe build. MDL tech has really helped getting my car driving. There have been a lot of unique problems they have helped me solve on such a customized build. Would highly recommend!

Converting my 89 Foxbody Mustang to a T-56 and I m glad I called modern. I spoke with Bruce who went through all the parts I would need and answered all my questions. He was very knowledgeable and didn t try to sell me anything I didn t need. He even saved me money on shipping by telling me I could pick up the kit from a local UPS freight shipping depot. Everything showed up packaged neatly and arrived with no damage. Had to call a couple of times with tech questions and when I did they spoke to me like I was family, resolving any issues. Whoever you speak to takes their time to resolve the issue, I ve never been rushed off the phone. Great guys, I highly recommend.

Customer of 18 years says this is The Place! I bought my transmission, cross member and cable clutch from Bruce 17 years ago. My cable clutch is one of the best mods I've made in terms of driveability.Have not had a single issue (despite the fact that my car has seen many hard miles on track and off). Yet when I've had questions Bruce has always been available, knowledgeable and honest about what he thinks would work best for me. He supports his customers with integrity and honesty and I could not ask for a better partner to help me get what's right for my car.Over the years, I've seen Bruce at Open Track events with the Shelby club, sometimes walking the paddock saying Hi to many customers, sometimes strapping in for a session, answering a question for someone who might be considering a swap or, just as likely, getting his hands dirty helping someone with an issue that has popped up (we are NOT easy on our cars).The only thing I can add is a huge Thank You to Bruce for making sure I picked what I needed to keep my car going and for being such a stand up guy.

For the past 16 years the T5 Bruce built for me has performed flawlessly in my 1953 Studebaker hot rod. Superior product, excellent technical knowledge, great follow up, superior customer service, and fair pricing. What's not to like? Growing from working out of a two car garage into a major player in the aftermarket driveline arena and exhibiting at SEMA doesn't happen by accident. MDL is the "go-to" provider for 5 and 6 speed driveline hardware and advice. You won't be disappointed.

Recently ordered a T45 for my 96 cobra not too long ago. I had no issues with the shipping and payment process, and I did not have to wait too long for the transmission. With the transmission now installed and a few hundred miles on it, I was relieved to find no mechanical problems during operation. I purchased a Tremec TKO 5-speed wide-ratio transmission for my 1967 Mustang from Modern Driveline in December 2022. They took their time to answer my questions and put together a quote based on my specific gear ratio and driveline preferences. Every component of the package fit perfectly; and is well designed.Tremec had a factory mix up @ year end; mixing up a few transmissions in the factory shipping boxes; and when I discovered the error; three months into my winter project; Bruce had a replacement out of their shop that same day. All of my follow up questions post sale have been answered; and I will recommend MDL to anyone looking to add performance and value to their classic ride. 1965 Ranchero - 3 speed...... To Mod Drive Line 4+1 (5 speed) Ordered all the stuff needed. They know what they are talking about. I was able to reuse my factory bell housing (Plan on pulling the Bell Housing) and clutch set up (10"). Needed to cut a hole in the floor for the shifter (use a zip wheel). Well made Well sold Well shipped Well supported.If/when I do another upgrade these guys are who I will call. Finding a Shop that does exactly what they say and they know what they are doing - Priceless. Service: Transmission

I'm restoring a '66 Mustang that had a MDL hydraulic master / slave clutch installed incorrectly when I bought it. Even though I wasn't the person that originally bought the clutch, MDL technical support (specifically, Bruce) spent 30 minutes talking me through some possible solutions based on my situation. His expert advice proved invaluable as I now have an unbelievably smooth working clutch in my Mustang! Can't thank Bruce and MDL enough for the awesome customer service.
