I highly recommend Rick and Northwest Auto to anyone looking for reliable, timely, honest, and reasonably priced car services! I needed a smog check but had a check engine light on, took my car to three other shops and paid for services that never remedied the problem. I found out about Northwest Auto and Rick had my car serviced and repaired same day, no check engine light returned, I had the car smogged, and he called that evening after hours to follow up! A great guy and an honest and talented mechanic. Thanks Rick! I'll be back if my old girl has any more issues! And I'll recommend you to anyone who needs car care!

I had a very good experience with Northwest Auto Repair in Garden City. My catalytic converters had gone bad and Rick was very accommodating by accepting the parts I had provided for him to use. While he was working on my truck he found that the secondary converters had also gone bad, and he was patient enough to wait for more parts to arrive that I ordered while my truck was in the shop. He got it up and running once the parts came in with no trouble and even working with me on the price of the labor.

I am so happy I finally found a mechanic that I can trust! Rick was very helpful, easy to talk to about my needs. I had the rear end of my truck go out, and after I had it towed to him, he got right on fixing it for me. His prices are the best, and all parts and labor are LIFETIME warranty! No one can beat that in town. I am a single mom, and having my vehicle is a must. When repairs need to be done, I know that I am not going to have to pay 3 times what it should be! I have referred all my family and friends to Rick. My dad just recently had his engine rebuilt there and it came off without a hitch. Thank you Rick, for all you being such a great mechanic.

I live in southeast Boise and always drive to Garden City because of the service I receive at Northwest Auto Repair. I am a college student from out of state, which has its disadvantages when it comes to finding a reliable auto shop. I have now had my car serviced twice at Northwest Auto and would recommend it to anyone. The staff is understanding and friendly and the prices are VERY reasonable.The mechanics are genuinely in it to help you get back on the road again safely.

Five Gold Stars -I was shopping around for a quote and timely installation of a new clutch. I was planning to go out of town for freelance job I got.I had been to a few different auto repair places that I felt didn't seem to know how to help me exactly. So I pulled out my iPhones and opened up Google Maps. That's when and where I discovered North West Auto Repair.I noticed that it had 5 really good reviews. From what I was reading in the reviews, I thought they did more minor repairs but thought I'd see what they thought of my problem.Upon arrival, Rick and his very knowledgable staff of mechanics diagnosed my problem (walking me through the trouble shooting process). They even addressed some other concerns that I didn't even know about.I gave them my time constraints and they came back with an extremely reasonable quote on price and labor.The work has been done and now my car drives good as new.I will and am definitely recommending North West Auto Repair to anyone in need of some auto repairs done by honest and hardworking mechanics in the Boise area.I will definitely be going back for my future car care and maintenance needs.

I had taken my truck to Rick with Northwest auto repair thinking the starter needed replaced. Turned out to just be the battery terminals, saved me over $250! Excellent service and very honest. Highly recommended.

What can I say, Rich is as honest as they come. I was on the last leg of my cross country trip with bad wheel bearings and drive axles and asked him to help me make it safe so I can get home. He not only helped me immediately, but also corrected me and only fixed what he thought needed fixing. He found no reason to over charge me or fix things that didn't need fixing. He also told me some things that I ought to look out for in the future after I make it home.He is simply a hard working trustworthy person who knows his craft and is willing to actually help his customers. I wish he was my home mechanic because I would come back in a heart beat. Very reasonable prices, honest evaluations, and genuine interaction. This place is the best.

Talk about a HONEST shop!!! I took my 08 impala to them with some work that another big name "shop" had told me that I needed to do. Northwest said they could do the work and their qoute was less so after I had done some research on their shop and saw what others thought of them I dropped the car off. A $300 job turned into a phone call saying that it was nothing more then a loose part. No work needed, my car was just fine. Northwest tighted the part, and when I asked how much I owed them for their time, their answer was... nothing. HONEST, HARDWORKING. I can not say enough about these guys!!!Thanks,Joel

The best repair shop I've been to. They were very kind and helpful. They will help you with your car repair needs without trying to rip you off like most places. They have the lowest prices, which is crucial to me being a recent graduate on a budget. Also very honest and upfront.

Yes, well I had an emergency situation looked up a place and drove straight there. I told them everything I could about my car and trouble, they were extremely kind and offered to help at no charge. Then when pressed for what he thought would be wrong and was it worth putting money into he said it might be a thermostat, and that it would cost 200, thinking well that's not bad. Then left. Then went home talked to someone who said that's a 10 dollar part that takes 10 mins to change. So I did more research and found out a couple of things yes it is a 10 dollar part and takes 15 mins. If you've got tools and patients to watch, a you tube video and don't mind getting dirty. I also checked them out with Bibb. There were no bad reviews. But then I asked Google if that would cause my car to idle to high because it was and from what I read no. Now suspecting my car is a flood car and that was not disclosed to me by the person selling it and having told this to the mechanic. What would you think? Well I know what I think. He thinks his time and experience is worth 190 an hour and plus that won't solve 2 other problems I have. I'd say he might of tried nickel and diming me dry. So while he did 1 nice thing doesn't mean they won't try to cheat you. More disturbing is this is common practice with mechanics. Sorry I won't go there again. My bad I tipped him 25 but that's okay. He did help me in an emergency and so I'm okay with my part

Rick Anderson told me what the problem was for free, told me the estimate, fixed the problem, he charged what he said he would charge me, and guaranteed the work.Both cars are working great and I will be taking all my auto needs to him. Great service, honest, prompt.
