Charged me 190 after 1.5hrs of getting nothing done. I brought the wrong part but even a different shop was able to identify that before touching my vehicle. Fishy practice or just idiots

Amazing service and honest, hardworking individuals. It was great working with David, he was very helpful and upfront about what they could do to help. It seems you get your moneys worth here, as they are honest and will do what s best for your situation.

Overall Patient & Understanding,It's very difficult to find a "Car Wizard" in Hawaii, because of the overwhelming number of cars, and not enough mechanics to work on them and still be honest with you. Firestone on Scholfield Barracks drew the last straw after they sabotaged my Lightning pickup, and with my old 93 Jeep Sahara with over 207k miles I was desperate to find someone confident enough to work it. I found Sykes Automotive after months of searching for the "Jeep Guy" and realized he also can work on Lightnings too. To summarize, he and his crew were able to improve my pickup with better engine cooling, idling, ride quality, and engine management. With my Jeep it was fixing my brakes, engine seal replacement, steering, and suspension.It's quite costly like everything else on the island, but was willing to pay for it. Honesty and overall longevity for the cars was and is my goal. Unfortunately because of the island weather and location, getting my Jeep ready for the long haul back to mainland was not done. Unfortunately during my multiple trips up and down the island for VPC paperwork the roads injured my Jeep further. While still operating shows signs of overheating and blown head gasket due to the oil change that was never made, and a broken whiper motor that was never replaced(driving in the rain).My only complaint was the lack of communication between us, which ultimately boils down to time management. David if your still reading this, sorry for the long review message, and also recommend getting someone to help you manage you appointments in the future. I can tell you get easily swamped during projects and micromanaging so much can take a toll over time, and make you forget other customers. Also thank you and keep up the good work. Great place, I brought my Jeep in with a busted radiator at 2 in the afternoon and it was ready for pickup at 9 the next morning. The guys even stayed late that night to get it done. The team sent text updates with photos during the process which I think is great customer service.

David and his team take care of my nonprofit vehicles and do an outstanding job. I ve never once had an issue they fit me in even when they re already busy communication is outstanding. He s honest, hard-working, incredible quality, knows his stuff. Most recently, the back door of my Rescue van broke I took it to the dealership and they struggled to diagnose what the problem was recommending things that they weren t sure was going to fix it. although I would have to special order the parts, wait for them to come in, try it and if it didn t work, they couldn t take the part back because they were special order. Instead, I went to Sykes automotive. Within two minutes of pulling up . David told me what the problem was and how he could fix it and he left me that day with a workable solution so my door would work until he could finish the final repair with the parts. I was able to still use my van and he was able to repair it perfectly. Blew my mind. The dealership couldn t even do this. If I could give him 10 stars, I would if you re looking for an honest shop with a gifted mechanic and a team, that really cares and prices that are reasonable and you can afford go see them. You won t be disappointed.

David was awesome, friendly, and very accommodating. He managed to squeeze my 22 Pathfinder in to get some new tires mounted. Thank you David and the team over at Sykes Automotive. Highly recommended. I know I ll be bringing my vehicles here for maintenance from now on.Service: TiresService: Tires

So good. I'm new to the Island and inherently have distrust for anything automotive outside of big name dealerships...Well was I wrong. The owner (and shop) was responsive, fast, thorough, and attempted to save me money where he could. They actually did more than I expected for the $$. So seldom are my expectations exceeded...Well Sykes Automotive did just that. Please give them a chance, you will not be disappointed.

First off let me say David and his team are extremely awesome. I ve used his service twice this year, one to fix a sensor in my Jeep and the second to replace the starter. The last one being the most recent. I only have one vehicle and in such short notice I popped in his shop with no appointment just needing help . That same day he was able to squeeze me in for an emergency fix. I cannot be happier with their service. Definitely a life saver. Thank you David and team!!

I found this company while researching for a shop that would repair Volkswagens. I saw the great ratings so I called them. David wasn't in so I ended up speaking to Paul.I was so impressed and thankful of the effort Paul put in, in getting me an estimate and also went out of his way to explain what the work entailed which ended up that they could not take on this job because of certain factors that may not given me an great experience. His detailed explanation of why they couldn't do it, impressed me since other companies would have just said, "we can't do it" or worst, they end up risking it, and trying to do it and it ends up a mess!!!Thank you Paul......You're a terrific representative of David's company and I'll be endorsing you to others!!Carlan

My car broke down with the check engine light on after hours near this shop. David at Sykes was working after hours and was beyond kind and willing to help. The next day he ran a diag test for free and had the car repaired that same day. He was quick to communicate and thorough in explaining what had happened with the car. I would absolutely recommend this shop and David's work to anyone looking for kind, thorough, helpful and proficient work. These guys are amazing. David has saved me twice now when I've had issues on the road. Super friendly and personable, really reasonable pricing, and great to do business with. Absolutely trust them with both of my vehicles and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Even though there was no time for repairs here, I was able to get the computer scanned quick, which helped me get direction for repairs.2nd visit and needed direction on what to do about a check engine light on different vehicle seems a sensor maybe bad or such. almost no wait after I called & arrived and quick check and reset looks to be at least a temporary fix.
