Outstanding transmission service. Both mine and my wife's transmissions were serviced here and we both had an excellent experience. The repairs made were reasonable and well explained. It took about 3 weeks for a complete rebuild, which included the time it took for the parts to arrive from the mainland. They have a deal with Enterprise Rental Cars where if you get a rental you pay at a much lower rate (~$33 a day) if you have a work order.Overall, I'd highly suggest this place for your transmission needs!

Top tier family owned shop. No nonsense, no ripoff. It's so refreshing to do business with honest people! Their work has the best prices and highest quality. Always worth the investment in waiting time.

mann i really really needed my transmission fixed and i took my 2010 crown victoria to john at pearlcity trans on the 8th of march they told me it would take two weeks and it was done by mon the 18th!! when he called me i was so surprised the got it done so quick ! i love how my car drives now i can finally reverse into stalks without being embarrassed that i can t. the professionalism and kindness & aloha that was shown to me by john and STAFF @ PCT is amazing and first class! i HIGHLY recommend taking your vehicle to them for any transmission problems. i d give them 10 s but it only allows 5. thank you guys so h for fixing my baby

I've owned and managed autoglass repair companies for 30 years. I've been in almost every automotive shop in Oahu at one time or another. I can tell you first hand Pearl City transmission knows their stuff. Vevy professional. Clean. Organized. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you for the great service John!

I actually came here several months ago because I had a problem with my transmission slipping. I had taken it to two different shops prior and the first one told me nothing was wrong (clearly didn't even check) and the next shop temporarily fixed it and it started slipping again about two months later and when I went to take it back they basically ghosted me. So, I ended up calling here and I brought my car in. They held it for about a week or two which was no problem because I had another car and they made sure everything was fixed and the problem was resolved. Their customer service was excellent and always communicated with me what the status was. When I came to pick up my car, they showed me exactly what was wrong and what they fixed and also said they took it for a test drive to make sure it was running smoothly which I greatly appreciated. The repair ended up being cheaper than I thought as well. Great service all around, 10/10 recommend.Service: Transmission repair

Short version: Nice people. Bad diagnosis. Won t work aftermarket.The faculty was generous and patient. After dropping my car they said they don t work on aftermarket parts.(short throw shifter). Transmission was leaking and told me they can t fix because aftermarket stuff. Was told it was leaking from certain place(which was not). Ended up buying the part they said. Dropped trans. The part was fine and didnt need replaced. :(

The company is family owned and operated and they work together and that makes a difference because they all have a hand in the success and customer service of the company that is their own. I could say so many things about the owner John and his willingness to hear the customer and respond with words of encouragement but truth without it only being for his families personal gain at the cost of lying to a customer. Old School value company even their employees are courteous and helpful.

They did an outstanding job on my 68 mercury cougar rear diff and axle seals. They put 4.11 gears and new wheel axle seals and bearings. When I tell you the Rtv bead seal they put on the diff was so flawless and perfect they fix my axle leak also. They have a great warranty and even did a 30 day follow up to ensure they quality was top notch. I can honestly say they did a heck of a job on my car. Money well spent. Thanks frank!!!

During some very trying times, PCT was very easy to work with and did a quality job quickly to repair and replace multiple issues on my truck including transmission and other 4x4 components.These guys are talented, and guaranteed the work on my lifted truck.I ll return here if I ever need repair again on my trucks.Services: Transmission, Transmission repair

Great service. Roughly 2 week wait for appointment. They do a great job and are friendly. If you need the work, don't hesitate make the appointment.

Frank is the man! We took our car in thinking it was the transmission and before spending a bunch of money on the work he told us a few things to get fixed much cheaper that is causing the issues instead. He directed us to a shop that would take care of us too.

Had excellent service from very knowledgeable staff. Part failure 6 months after my transmission was rebuilt. Pearl city transmission stood behind there work and took care of the issue.Honest people.

I would never recommend this shop to anyone.My stupid 3rd party insurance company denied my auto claim and these guys charged me 1500 just to put the trans together to tow out.I had 5 other shops tell me they would have installed a used transmission for me for 1000 plus the transmission.First I asked him if he wanted to buy it for 1500, the cost of the "repairs" and he said yes. Then a couple days later he said no he wanted his 1500.These yahooos told me it would be another 900 on top of the 1500 to put in a used transmission plus the cost of the part. Meaning it would cost 3000 for a transmission replacement that 5 other shops told me 1000 in labor max.I was trying to sell the car or decide to replace the transmission and he wouldnt stay open past 5 to let people take a look at it, he wouldnt help me out at all and even denied letting people in "his shop" for "insurance " reasons.He is a nice guy, nice shop but only cares about being nice to take you for as much money as humanly possible.Stay away at all costs.*********************************************************Since the owner replied Ill add in an Edit!1. The shop said they would buy my car for $500, well below what they would part it out for, then a week later the owner said never mind. (Because I said other people were offering me 2k and he knew he couldn t screw me over)2. The people who were looking at buying the car were originally told they were not allowed to view the car so I had to plead with the shop to allow them to look at it. The owner said due to insurance reasons they cant come in the shop then he allowed them so is it against your insurance to allow them and you eventually break your own rules OR were you lying and just trying to make it hard for me to sell it? Either way you did what you could do to block potential clients from looking at the car.3. The shop told me it would be another 1,000 to install a used transmission when they already had the old one out, how would it cost almost more to install a new transmission when all they had to do was hook up the transmission? Money Grab4. I tried to tell the owner put the car together and make it towable for over a week however he went out on vacation and didn t return any calls, I have my call log to your shop asking for someone to call me back. He sat on it so he could charge me fees 5. They charged me another 400 to make the car towable and they told the person buying the car it would be towable. When he showed up with tow straps the owner of the shop just put the transmission in the trunk and locked the door, meaning the batter was unhooked and the inter car was 100% inoperable thanks to them NOT putting anything together like they said they would and CHARGE me for. Luckily the guy who bought it was patient and got a tow dolly to get it to his house.6. The person who bought the car was a very nice military guy who new his stuff. Luckily he knew that the shop tried to KEEP some of my parts so they can SELL them for a profit. Had the guy who bought it not have immediately took the transmission out of the TRUNK and make sure all the pieces were there the shop would have essentially STOLEN over $500 in parts.7. I said up front that I was iffy on the Third party warranty and my suspicions became evident during this whole ordeal and I wont be buying another extended warranty again, however I was not told at the beginning of this ordeal that A. The owner was going to NOT allow people to come in the shop to look at the car B. The owner could have put a used transmission in the car for 1000 TOTAL (He told me that AFTER he charged me 1100) C. The owner tried to STEAL the core and other parts of the carAgain, these shop owners were nice at first, however once they had my car apart it was apparent they were just nickel and diming someone. Then at the very end they tried to STEAL my parts.

Got my jeeps clutch replaced here very fast service, car was in and out in 4 days, very nice people every time I was in the shop. Would recommend for clutch/transmission repairs.
