I would never bring my vehicle here again!! I went in for a safety inspection, and the guy was difficult and rude from the start. I should have gone with my 1st instinct after speaking with the guy face to face, but I didn't. I was anxious to get my vehicle inspection done on my only off day instead of continuing to search other companies and hopes that they had availability that day, so I stayed here. Not only did he charge me an arm and a leg for some simple stuff like windshield wipers, but his customer service was Horrible. Next time I need a safety inspection done, I will drive on the other side of the island and pay double before I deal with this guy's customer service again.

Great shop! I took my truck here on a Sunday morning and the team here had it back up and running the same day. I highly recommend this shop to anyone on the island. Also they are military friendly!#SupportLocalBusinesses

This is the best place to get your car repaired. Coolant leak, engine oil leak, transmission repair. John is professional works fast. He charges $160 an hour. But gets the job done fast. I replaced my whole coolant system for only $900. In the dealership if would be more like $2-3k. He does oil change, inspection, and lots of other stuff. He does pretty much anything with the car. Highly recommend. Greta place. Fair price.

I was recommended by another auto shop next door to seek car repair services from GEARS. Ever since I was given the recommendation I have been catered to with honesty and respect and had work done on multiple cars (my own and my husband s) in a timely manner. My husband informed me that he needed a safety inspection this week and asked if I knew anyone and when I sent him John s number from GEARS, he was accommodated right away and was able to handle all of his business to bring his car current and legal in one day due to GEARS timeliness. GEARS always gives genuine feedback, especially on older cars and has proven time and time again that the company is worth your business. Thank you for your kindness and customer service. I will be leaving island soon but felt the need to leave an honest review to encourage others to use their services. GEARS always returns missed calls, is never pushy, very accommodating, and make the entire inspection/ repair process feel comfortable and honest. John was awesome. Got us in on a Sunday, same day for Hawaii State vehicle inspection. Very professional and well versed on state laws. Was able to fix our windshield wipers and we were in and out within 30 minutes. Would suggest him to anyone in the Waipahu/Kapolei area! Will be back to do business with him again.

This shop is absolutely heaven sent! I called from the mainland, and the mechanic showed my husband so much love and aloha in a time of need! John took my truck on short notice on Thanksgiving week. He serviced my truck's transmission very fast and did not come across as one of those mechanics who want to make more out of each customer. He is very professional, has reasonable pricing and I would highly recomend coming here for any auto servicing needs he offers. Thanks John!Service: Transmission

Was able to repair and fix the mistakes I made while trying to replace my AC compressor. One of the few shops that is willing to work on European Diesel cars and he put me first and doing the repair in the least expensive way and the most beneficial way for me.

I needed to get my vehicle safety checked and normally a lot of places are closed on Sundays for Vehicle safety inspection. I called GEARS hoping they would take an appointment on a Sunday. I spoke to John and said he would gladly take me in. He saved the day. Thank you John! Awesome customer service. John is one solid bradda at G.e.a.r.s Automotive. He got my truck running and knew I didn't have the biggest budget it get it in tip top shape.
