Just stayed at Sheraton resort and loved it!! Such a great location and very family friendly! My kids loved being able to run from beach to pool and there were plenty of chairs at pool and you could rent beach chairs too which was nice option. Room was on owners side and had ocean view and was great size with comfy beds and nice kitchen and living room to relax in after day at the pool. We really enjoyed the coffee shop and pool side service and also ate at Lava s one night and enjoyed the food there as well and felt the menu had good variety. The activities available for kids was so fun and included lei making, hula lessons, surf lessons and even pond fishing which my kids loved and caught a few fish! Lastly one of our fave things to do on the resort was see the luau! The dancers/performers performed beautifully and the music and band were very talented too! The fire dance was awesome! Highly recommend this resort for couples and families and we will be coming back!Nearby activities: 20 min away to marina to do snorkel or catamaran cruises. Also about 30-40 min away from hiking in Waimea canyon state park!

We had a wonderful experience with our family of three kids and two adults at this hotel. The proximity and cleanliness of the beach were fantastic, making it an ideal spot for kids. The pools were also a highlight, providing great entertainment. On-site, there are two restaurants, though the food tends to be on the expensive side. However, the service and quality more than make up for it. Overall, a great family-friendly destination. They updated our room from a garden view to an ocean view for free. Very impressed with the customer service.Rooms: Very clean and spacious with amazing viewsNearby activities: Great onsite activities for kids and adults. Clean beach at the resort and golfing opportunities are a few minutes away.Food & drinks: There are two restaurants, though the food tends to be on the expensive side. However, the service and quality more than make up for it.

This hotel is stunning, with a perfect location, well-maintained grounds, and a friendly and helpful staff. All of the rooms have balconies, some with garden views while others are right by the water, allowing guests to soak up the sun by the pool or on the beach during the day. In the evenings, you can take a leisurely walk by the beach and enjoy the beautiful sunset. At night, you can hear the waves, which makes it easy to fall asleep. The premises have a couple of restaurants, so if you don't want to venture out, This place is perfect for both couples and families.Upon check-in, we were greeted with a box of delicious macadamia chocolates, refreshing guava juice, and a sun protection kit. They offer both valet and self-parking options.Safety: We felt safe at any time around this location

I was pleasantly surprised by this resort. It has a gorgeous beachfront location, service was always prompt and friendly from all the staff (special shout out to CIARA at the front desk!! And ERIC our bellman! ) The rooms are very spacious and have a luxe feel. We booked a double queen oceanfront room and we were on the right hand side of the resort, away from the pool, which was wonderfully quiet and peaceful! Beautiful large lanai and double sinks in the vanity area (perfect for friends traveling together), rainfall shower, beautiful pool and Jacuzzi...what more could you want? Would def stay here again!Only suggestion would be to put screens on the sliding doors to the lanai! We wanted to listen to the ocean but with no screen the bugs get in

First, let me say this resort is absolutely gorgeous and the resort is certainly located on a beautiful beach. The staff has been great from the start. On day one at check-in they offered us an amazing promotion since we were staying for 7 nights. After the semi-less process we accessed our spacious, luxury and beautiful villa. Since this was our first family vacation to Hawaii we chose a 2 bedroom villa. Yes, it was pricey but very well worth it. I d never put a price on any family vacation as memories are very important to us. Also, it s my son s birthday trip and he chose this beautiful place.Even though we still have a few more days to go everything has been great so far and we love the Marriott family. The island is beautiful and the food has been so good everywhere.Nearby activities: In the shopping centers near by we ve been able to book snorkeling and zip lining. We also experience a family friendly Luau the first time on the resort.Walkability: If you would like to enjoy the weather and walk the resort is close to a few shopping centers. We ve walked to Starbucks twice.Food & drinks: The carrot cake that they serve at the Lava is amazing!!!!! I ve had it three nights in a row. The best carrot cake I ve tasted so far. Just a few words to describe the cake: Juicy, mouth watering, big, fluffy and delicious.

Stayed in a 2 queen ocean front room overlooking the pool. Very nice place, beach and pool areas are great. Only complaint about the room is no screen door on lanai. There was a letter in the room asking to not leave the lanai door open. When we stay in Hawaii we always like to leave the door open to hear the sound of the ocean. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Our room had amazing views. The pool area is relaxing and right by the beach. Pool towels available. Poolside food and drinks are brought by servers if you want. bathroom located by pool. Snorkel rentals, cabana rentals, and surf lessons available. There are plenty of walkable eating options not on property. Service was so great and all staff were friendly and accommodating. All our needs were met. Free self-parking and paid valet is available also. We would come back here again.Rooms: Room was and oceanview with plenty of spaceNearby activities: two shopping areas within walking distance. Restaurants within walking distance. Several beaches - poipu and shipwreck nearby.Spouting horn and a couples minutes drive away.Safety: Never felt unsafe.Walkability: restaurants and shops within walking distance

Air conditioning unit was not working properly in room and we had to sleep on top of my sheets. Maintenance came by and said it was working, they said we could move to a different type of room but we had paid for a large ocean view room. We also had tons of stuff with a 1 year old and it would have been a major hassle to move so we decided to stick it out. The next day housekeeping came in and said it was very hot and wanted to know if we wanted them to call maintenance. I told them we already did and that maintenance said there was nothing to fix. They stated the identical adjacent rooms were much cooler and that our AC was not blowing hard enough. I complained to management ended up comping us $150, which is pretty small considering the price of the rooms (~$500 a night). I don t really think they made things right. I wouldn t stay here again.

The room was pretty disappointing, especially for a family there was very little storage and everything was cramped and outdated. Floor could have been anything other than carpet because it just holds the smell of damp. If we go back to Kauai I would rather book the Marriott down the road, it had a better room and the overall layout of the resort was better.

What a fun experience! I was able to tag along while my wife attended a work conference. The hotel is situated in a nice location that straddles the line between a true escape and the comforts of suburbia. The landscape and views make for a great Kodak moment, yet it's nestled in a standard hotel/residential/business district. It's not a detractor, rather just the facts...but hey, you're still in Hawaii and it's close to shopping and many hotspots. Remember, very little in Kauai is overly commercialized and therefore this is a nice balance. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Sheraton. Expect a casual-elevated luxurious stay where flip-flops & wingtips cross paths.

The resort is absolutely beautiful! We stayed in a garden view room for 5 nights and an ocean front for 2 nights. It was definitely worth splurging for the two nights! Housekeeping is fantastic and the front desk has been great. The pool is really nice and the cabanas on the beach are worth the daily charge. Not very many children which has been fantastic being on our honeymoon! The restaurant can be very hit or miss. The food is average at best and since it s the only restaurant on the resort open all week it gets very busy especially at breakfast. This is the only reason I deducted a star

I redeemed my Mariott points to stay here and it was a great decision. The hotel is so nice and relaxing. The location is unbeatable at Poipu beach. The onsite restaurant serves a good breakfast, the rooms are wonderful (the bed is so comfy). I got upgraded to an Ocean View room and it was lovely. The amenities are great and the beach is great to swim and boogie board.

The rooms and property are very clean and well kept. Our room had a good air conditioner, mini fridge, coffee maker, and a screen door. We were not in a suite. It was a standard guest room. We were on the ground floor and the room was very quiet. The whole island has a roach problem due to the moisture but you can tell they spray a barrier so any bugs that crawl in from the doors being open quickly die. There weren't any bugs issues in our room. We ate at both Rum Fire and Lavas. Lavas was our favorite. There are coin operated washer and dryers for guest use that we did end up using. Each load is $4.25. The private beach has nice powder soft sand and is not too populated. Also has a great location to shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend staying here. This is a nice resort.Food & drinks: The food is top notch. The seafood is fresh, the cocktails are great, and everything was perfectly cooked. It is on the pricy side though.

I've never had Platinum status mean so little in 10 years of staying at Marriott properties. To start - status was not recognized on check in. To finish - no late check out (on a Monday - seriously?). And loads of terrible service in between. At Lava breakfast looked amazing and tasted delicious but was luke warm all 3 days. It looked like they didn't have enough front of house staff. We showed up at Rum Fire at 8:15 and you would have thought we kicked the dog of the two employees at the check in stand.Absolutely terrible experience for 70k points per night - myself and my spouse are both lifetime platinum - if this is what Marriott is now we will be cancelling our Bonvoy cards and finding a hotel to build status with that appreciates loyalty.

Beautiful quiet and right on the ocean. A perfect place for our first visit to Hawaii. Everything is quite open and the scenery is lovely. The rooms were well equipped so we could make our own meals /wash our clothes. The location isn't far by drive from many adventures, whatever you are looking for. Would definitely come back here!Walkability: Quick walk right to the beach! We had our own car but there were some nearby shops you might be able to walk toNoteworthy details: Their beach has giant waves! Fun once you get the hang of getting in and out without getting knocked over, but probably not for toddlers. Even the cheaper garden view was quite lovely. We loved to eat out on our deck and enjoy the atmosphere.

A disappointing stay. Old rooms, minimal maintenance. Dirty hallways. Dirty elevators. Rooms were clean and maintained properly. We did not look forward to going to our room at night because it was so basic and old. Don't recommend it.Rooms: Old rooms that need more maintenance.Walkability: If you have a rental car, parking is a disaster. They claim to offer parking JUST for their guests. Unfortunately, other beach goers that are NOT their guests take all the parking and they told me they could not do anything about it. They offered me Valet parking which sounded great till you realize that from the valet drop off to our room was a 300 yard walk (3 football fields). They were very rude about the parking situation and we had to park at another parking lot that was over 500 yards from our room.We will never be back to this place as they don't take care of their guests and were often rude explaining their own shortcomings.Noteworthy details: Hallways and elevators are dirty and messy.

Would love to stay here again. Wonderful oceanfront views and the beach wasnt overcrowded. We got to see monk seals and the green sea turtles right come right onto shore. Perfect location and not too far from our ATV tour, the national tropical botanical gardens, and Na Pali boat tours. Shops and good eats are close, Lava's kids menu is free for kids under 10y/o. Put me in pig tails, and give me a lollipop because we're coming back!Nearby activities: Kipu Ranch Adventures offers ATV tours to catch great views without the hike. Tour guides are knowledgeable on the history of the area, and several movies have been filmed on the island. Poipu Beach has turtles that sleep on the shore every night. During the sunset, you can watch up to 50 turtles come ashore. National Tropical Botanical Gardens only a few minute drive away, self guided, and bus tour options. Great location for taking pictures and waterfall views at the end.Safety: I felt comfortable walking alone at night and early mornings. Tiki torches and motion activated lights along the scenic walking paths.Noteworthy details: We got to watch the Luau from our balcony! However, only a small section of rooms are at a good viewing point, so we really lucked out on this one. It was a really good show and with food and drinks the price would have been worth it. Book early because seats fill up at least 30 days ahead of time, which is the only reason why we didn't get tickets.

We got some chocolates at the counter. Our room was a studio and we had everything we could need on our trip. Their room service was amazing. Staff talked really nice every time we passed through. Location of their restaurants is amazing. We went late night to just sit around the beach and it was so mesmerizing. Would recommend it always.

Needs a renovation, on-site dining options not good. Definitely needs better quality food. Pool very small compared to the size of hotel and the number of guests wanting to use it.Food & drinks: Not great, very disappointed.

Great location if you like surfin beach, staff where very attentive and friendly, expect the hostess at the beach restaurant who was very miserable and unhappy each day and 3rd day of me been Intentionally happy, I gave up on her negatively and went somewhere else. Seemed like she did not care about her job or the guests and only smiled when a manger walked past.Room was a bit cluttered and not enough space to hang your cloths or even draw space for $600 a night, so kept it in the suitcase

Our villa was 1 bedroom with a lockoff to make it 2 beds/2 bath. it was newly remodeled. Ground floor villas do NOT have screen doors. I asked for screens and they told me "no" so I asked to be moved. We ended up on the 4th floor with screens . But the move was inconvenient and the next day which cut into our fun time. They also do not have tables on lanai. We like to eat outside so that was a little weird and there was no dining table in the Villa. All the villas are across the street from beach/ocean so no views. If you just want a regular room you can get ocean front but not as an owner.. also weird. The location is great and we had a wonderful time on the island.
