For starters, Uncle Steve always answers the phone. In Hawaii, that alone is almost worth 5 stars. Beyond this, he does very high-quality work at better prices than I've found elsewhere. He's thorough and attentive, and he has fixed issues for me before that were small and with no additional charge. I've had Uncle Steve work on my vehicles a handful of times now and he has secured my business for life.

This man single handedly restored my faith in the ability of repair shops to have integrity and fair pricing. I've used him twice and he impressed me the second time around even more than the first. I will never use another macanic as long as he is in business.

Bottom Line Up Front: Steve went way out of his way to help without asking for a cent.Steve (who I presume owns the shop) let me bend his ear for 15 minutes about the car trouble I was having. He then asked me to give him my cell number and a couple of hours... during that time he researched the potential problems and realized that the dealership was the best path because of a recall on my vehicle he found for me. He referred away a potential customer because it was best for the customer.He was not dismissive when I described to him the noises my car made. He talked through the types of noises and helped me to better articulate the situation.He was genuinely nice about the bad day I was having... which if you are frantically looking for a repair shop it is a bad day and you can really use nice people.Fingers crossed that I will not need Steve's help in the future, but there is no question that I would return based upon his customer service alone.Thank you Steve for time and guidance. You saved me upwards of $6,000.

Steve is the best. He is very knowledgeable. He is the most honest, reasonable & reliable mechanic around. He worked on my husbands 74 Volkswagen Bus that was having various issues. Didn't keep the vehicle longer than needed. Fixed the issue & got us on the road again in no time. Will continue going back.

Have taken different cars to Steve, over more than 20 years. He is honest and reliable. Does a great job. The only downside is that he is very busy and it can take a couple of days before he can fit you in. For which reason, I probably should not recommend him! ;-)

These guys are great! They won't "fix" things that are not broken just to make a buck. Been going here for many years and Steve is very knowledgeable. I can call him and ask for advice and he would tell me what to look for. Being a mechanic myself years ago, I know what he is talking about is the real deal.

Was referred to Steve about 3 years ago by a friend who has taken her cars to him for many years. Since then, he has fixed and worked on all 3 of my cars (Honda Accord, Jeep Grand Cherokee , Ford SportTrac), as well as my family members vehicles.The first car I took to him was my Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has this problem of dying out intermittently. I had taken it to multiple mechanics/shops, and they all seemed to have a different diagnosis. So many things were "fixed" or replaced, without solving the problem. I would have junked it long ago but couldn't part with it for sentimental reasons. Then after my friend told me about Steve I gave him a call and explained to him the symptoms. Right away he had an idea of what the problem was. Not even 48 hours later Jeep was fixed ans i was driving it home. Plus it didn't break the bank! Gotta admit, I was a little skeptical because I had been through this before with so many other mechanics. It's now been 3 years and my car has NEVER DIED OUT SINCE!Like other reviewers have stated... Steve is very EXPERIENCED and KNOWLEDGEABLE, super HONEST, more than FAIR with his prices (I don't even price around anymore) and so PLEASANT to work with.Thanks Steve, please don't ever retire!

Extremely good service, diagnosed a loose under carriage that made horrible sound like a broken wheel bearing. Also they replaced a broken hood latch release cable and hood arm. Steve, who owns Windward Auto Repair, has helped me w/my cars since he opened his business and my sons were little. My sons are grown now, and I still rely on Steve to check on my cars. His reputation among my friends is solid for honesty and reliability, affordability...and to boot he has the most likeable personality. I already knew what was wrong with my truck and Windward Automotive Repair was the only mechanic shop that would give me an estimate on the labor without taking it in for a "full diagnostics". Steve was honest about needing to replace my clutch as well. He really works with your budget. I highly recomend them!

I highly recommend windward auto repair as a top tier choice on the eastside of Oahu as they offer timely service with good repair work that gets to solving your issue. I was impressed by how fast they were with my car and I wilk be referring WAR to family and friends.

He does everything, as Google expects me to answer every question? See 47 more. Google is without support point blank! STEVE DOESN'T NEED REVIEWS AS HE'S WAY TOO BUSY TO BE EVEN CONCERNED ABOUT IT.
