Highly recommend Ron & the team at RNS. Was chasing a few tricky issues on my old Tacoma. Sure enough they got to the bottom of it and had me out of there just in time for the holiday weekend. Ron took the time to explain what they tried and why, and even showed me one of the parts he pulled out to explain why it needed replacement. Super transparent, top shelf service.

Honest and hardworking! They have so many clients their shop is practically bursting at the seams! If you schedule a safety check, call to set the appt. a couple of weeks in advance at least!

I dropped off my 09 frontier cause my brakes gave up on me. Dropped it off Sunday morning, got a call on Monday morning that it ll be ready for pick up that afternoon. Other auto shops in the area prices were outrageous and told me it would take a couple days. Local own, local ran auto shop with good prices and fast service. Mahalo RNS! Service: Brakes

Got a brand new AC system from them and it broke conveniently 1 month after the warranty expired. Cost me 2600 to get done and it only lasted a year. Make it right guys

If you are in the windward side and need a saftey inspection done for a trailer or vehicle, RNS is one of the most lagit, fast and efficient shops I've been to on Oahu. Interactions with the staffs were always friendly and professional. The online appointment system is easy to use and I was able to book one within the same week. I will bring all my vehicles here now and I highly recommend you do too.

I'm incredibly happy with my experience at RNS. The mechanics were all friendly and a joy to do business with. I came here for the first time for a safety, and I'm definitely coming here for my safety inspections from now on! They were quick and efficient about it. After taking a look at their prices, which are very reasonable, I plan to take my vehicle here for any repairs or maintenance I need in the future as well! I definitely recommend RNS Automotive for you car needs!

Helped put on a new mirror on my car that I got delivered in the mail. Fully functional with window controls.I always go to RNS if I can help it.Great people and very helpful. Be patient about parking, not everthing around their location belongs to them, so you need to find a parking spot either in front or at a facility that isn't open.Business Location has a coffee shop near the entrance of the facilities. If you're in for a wait, head over there on foot if you don't have someone to pick you up.Aloha!

Young lady working at the front was so rude and incompetent. Couldn t even answer the simplest car questions and gave serious attitude.�Poor service & ruined my experience. Plenty other auto shops in this area.

This place is great. We took our car here for oil change, brake check, and tune up.We received a call that we needed spark plugs (totally expected this) and were told rear brakes could be done but it was early and we could certainly wait on this service. Wow!We were also told that our safety had expired and they had time to do it if we wanted. Terrific!Our entire family uses this shop.

**JEEP OWNERS** If you have one that is modified, look elsewhere. Regardless of having tire coverage & mud flaps...it goes way beyond that at RNS Automotive. I researched the rules that guide what is required for a Honolulu County safety inspection to pass & had made my vehicle conform however, the gentleman conducting the inspection started citing a plethora of items that, "in his opinion" (literal quote) didn't meet the safety criteria. I stated that I had read the rules, and asked where he was citing the needed corrections from because they weren't listed in the HRS. The answer was "it's up to me as the inspector". So basically, it's a moving target & who you know or how they feel that day I guess. I would assume they'd probably do just fine on a fully stock car, but after ~45 seconds they wouldn't touch my rig with a10' pole. For reference, I am ASE Certified in Auto Maintenance and Light Repair as well as Manual Drivetrain and Axles so I know my way around a car. RNS, if you could please respond to this post & provide the reference for the extra rules your techs are enforcing (e.g. minimum 3rd brake light size, fender flare material requirement, width of front bumper, etc.) it would greatly benefit many future potential customers. I will happily eat crow if I'm proven incorrect & applaud you for doing a good job. All I would like to know is where these rules are.Service: Vehicle Inspection

Wow! This is THE PLACE TO GO in Kailua for auto repair. I went there today and met J the mechanic and Ron the owner. Both had a great attitude, very professional and I am excited to use them again in the future! Thank for taking great care of my car.

Arrived at appointed time for annual vehicle inspection. Inspector from the shop told me he would not do the inspection because he would have to fail it. He told me that all back windows (5) were over-tinted (meter readings of 16) and recommended professional removal at an estimated $150. I made such an appt for two days later. That technician's meter readings were a law-compliant 29 and he added that they did not even look over tinted. I returned to RNS where different individuals used two different meters whose reasons were inconsistent from teens to 29 to 100. The previous inspector from the shop finally came outside and acknowledged to me and his co-workers that a new meter was on order and expected next week. Without any apology or apparent regret for my inconvenience or potentially wasted tint-removal money, he told me to come back later. Instead I went to another local business where the meter readings were 29 and successfully completed the inspection. Other office staff were friendly and helpful.

Great experience!Called before hand and got an accurate estimate and was a much better price than the dealership.They called and let me know when there were delays and explained when they additional they encountered when doing the job as well as their recommendations.I felt they were extremely honest and professional! I would recommend to anyone on Oahu!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Oil change

If I could give them 10 stars I would. If you want good honest and affordable work, this is the place to go. I can't say enough good things about my experience. Ron is so kind and down to earth. After receiving a $3000 estimate from one of the local chain car shops, I was overwhelmed with anxiety. Ron was comforting and after him and the mechanics took a look at it, they were able to diagnose the problem, and correct everything needed for only $1000. With a number of repairs being needed, I was expecting a few days turn around, but instead they had it ready by end of day the same day I dropped it off. The mechanics are kind, patient, and skilled and they did everything they could to make the repairs as affordable as possible for me. I will refer all my friends here and return for all my future car needs. RnS is a total gem on this island!

Made an appointment for standard 60k service and they wouldn t give a quote over the phone. Said I had to come in and they would look at my factory maintenance requirements and then give me a price. Showed up to the appointment with print out of the requirements and they still wouldn t give me a price. Had me sign a form that says I authorize them to make all necessary repairs. I took my keys back and will go somewhere that is more up front and honest. Even the dealer, as overpriced as they are, will give you an immediate quote. Also, no where to park and their garage bay was already full of cars even though I was 1st appointment of the day. Tells me they are way behind schedule.

I made an appointment to have my safety inspection done. A few days before the appointment my car decided to start over heating. I added coolant hoping that would solve the problem, but to no avail. I mentioned that I was having a problem with it over heating when I had finished getting the safety done. I asked if I could make an appointment if it continued to over heat. Ron said of course, and be sure not to drive it while it's over heating or I could damage other things. I thanked him and left. I got maybe a mile down the road and it (surprise) started to over heat. I turned around, stopped quite a few times to cool the engine down, and took it right back to them. I didn't have an appointment, but I wasn't in a hurry as I thankfully had a back up vehicle. I told them to take their time, and I'd just wait to hear from them when they got to it and it was done. I was just super thankful they would be able to help me. I got a phone call from them that afternoon telling me it was fixed and ready for pickup. What I thought was going to just be a quick safety inspection and that's all I would need to visit them for, turned into them gaining another customer who will be referring them to others as well. My experience with RNS was great, and I was super pleased with their customer service and accommodating me. I'll definitely be returning!

RNS is an honest auto mechanic that will only do the work that is needed. They are good about explaining what needs to be done and why. They even look for ways to save customers money and explain that. For example, I needed a new door lock. They explained that they could either install a new lock or rekey the old one to save me $100. This is illustrative of the approach they take towards customer service. They do what they say they will do. This is an honest mechanic that I would (and have) readily recommend.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Engine repair

This shop is full of some of the most respectable and honest mechanics I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. On a couple of occasions I have come in suspecting major problems with my truck. All signs have pointed two major issues in the past and I would have been none the wiser if they would have replaced and or charge me for those parts. However they were honest and very trustworthy and on each occasion I have walked out of their shop spending less than $100. If you are looking for a mechanic that will not pull the wool over your eyes and charge you a fair price for work and services rendered please visit RNS Automotive!!

Horrible experience there this morning. I made an appointment for an oil change. They told me it would take an hour. After 50 minutes of waiting, with my two kids, they hadn't even pulled it into the garage. A woman in the office told me that she didn't have an appointment but that they told her she could have my spot and I could wait a little longer. How nice of them to offer her my spot. Again I had two kids and a scheduled appointment. Horrible horrible customer service. They didn't even apologize to me for the delay and not following the appointment time. I will never be going back to RPN again.

RNS is the best in Oahu, for sure. They know what they're doing, very efficient, and they're happy to refer us to other great places to fix my car when there's outside of their expertise.Honest, efficient, reliable, and reasonable. THE BEST

These folks are so honest! They are very careful in their work, give you an honest opinion about what needs to be done and when. I wouldn't go anyplace else with my Jaguar. I'm a senior citizen widow and I trust them to treat me fairly.

My car broke down on the side of the road. Knowing the reputation of RNS and satisfaction from one previous service, I had the tow truck take me to RNS. They were already closed so I left my car out front and dropped off my key in the night drop box with an explanation of what happened. When I called them the next morning (only 10 minutes after they opened) they said they were already working on my car and had a general idea of what was wrong. They replaced my coolant pump and fixed up my car that day! I was super happy!
