Kevin's Auto guys are real professionals. They accurately diagnosed issues others had misdiagnosed. They do repairs and maintenance at a very fair prices. Olina is on it and she understands customer services. Keep up the good work. I'll see you at my next appointment.

Pretty good shop, a little hard to find, but almost competent work and they will only try to screw you over once every couple years. When they do decide to screw you over, though, they really pull out all the stops. They tried to tell me I needed 1,200 worth of work done on my ABS system, so I took it elsewhere and it only cost about $250, and have not had any problems in the 2 years since.

Both my wife and I have taken our vehicles to Kevin's for repairs and general maintenance and are extremely satisfied with the quality and workmanship they provided.Additional to my bad starter, I had thought that I needed to have my transmission fluid and filter changed, and they indicated that it was just fine and not necessary at this time.For those looking for an automotive mechanic here in Hilo Hawaii, I found them to be very honest, reasonably priced and only repairing what was actually needed. They'll have our future business!

Both Kevin and Hanna, proprietors of Kevin's Auto & Truck Repair, treat you like family. They keep you current about the repairs necessary to the vehicle, charge reasonable prices and the quality of work is outstanding! After ten years of agony trying various repair shops , including the local Jeep dealership, I believe Kevin's provides a level of service second to none in Hilo.

Any time I had an unexpected repair, or needed to get my annual safety check done, Kevin has been more than accommodating. He guarantees his work, which I never question. He does good jobs and knows what he's doing. Truly, an outstanding automotive shop.

Complete scammers - told me my battery was dead and charged me 176 for a new generic battery and when I got home the truck wouldn't start had to jump the "new" battery everytime and also my blinkers and electrical was off - luckily I kept the old battery that Kevin said was dead. I put the old battery in the truck and bam it started right up and didn't need a jump had both batteries tested at sears and was told my old one was fine and new one was a garbage battery not even rated for the truck. I called Kevin and he dodged me for a week then had someone tell me they only do paper check returns one day a week between 9-4 . Funny thing at no point did he even question that he sold me a dead battery and that mine was fine as if he knew he was scamming me and just got caught - I walked in and he rudely gave me my money back when I refused to return in a week to get a paper check refund -

The level of service and transparency at Kevins has been great, friendly phone staff with an emphasis on safety. Would recommend if new to the area or unsatisfied with your current shop.

KEVIN ,YOU DID ALOT OF WORK ,BRAKES, TRANSMISSION,OIL SERVICE....HOWEVER YOU MISDIAGNOSED THE STARTING ISSUE AND YOU CHARGED MY WIFE AND I APPROXIMATELY 1300.FOR A REPAIR THAT MADE ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE TO OUR PROBLEM...OTHER THEN IN THE TYME OF THE PANDEMIC YOU TOOK 1300.FOR A REPAIR THAT DID NOT NEED TO BE DONE...THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP ETC THAT YOU REPLACED...FOR ME ITS NOT THAT YOU DID THIS ,MISDIAGNOSIS CAN HAPPEN,,,WHAT DISSAPOINTS MY WIFE N I IS THE FACT THAT YOU NEVER LIVED UP TO YOUR MISTAKE,IN FACT YOU NEVER EVEN MENTIONED IT .YOU NEVER TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. THEN AFTER YOU HAVING EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO,YOU DIDNT...INSTEAD YOU CAME TO MY HOME SPENT A FEW MINUTES LOOKING AT THE CAR AND THEN SHOOK MY HAND AS IF ALL WAS WELL...I HAD ALOT OF FAITH IN YOUR BUSSNESS, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THERES NO WAY I COULD DO BUSINESS WITH YOU AGAIN...THE ONLY DIFFERENCE THAT REPAIR MADE WAS MOVING 1300. FROM OUR POCKETS TO YOURS WITH NOTHING IN RETURN .IN THE END A NEIGHBOR NAMED DAVID BAKER,DIAGNOSED THE REAL PROBLEM AND HAD IT RUNNING IN LESS THEN 2 HOURS WITHOUT ANY PARTS BEING REPLACED...IT WAS ELECTRICAL.

I used to go to this shop and they do repairs at a good price. But both times I was there I told them I wanted something else done to my car in the future and could they do an estimate? They promised to call and email the estimate but in both cases never did, so I stopped going there.
