5 hours for an oil change... 1 Star is generous. Will not be coming back to this location. Had an appointment for the change at 10am, overheard a conversation around 12pm that they had 2 people call out sick. If they had just told me this when I first came I would've rescheduled no problem at all. I asked the desk around 12:30pm if there was an update and they said it's currently in the shop being worked on. Well here we are 3:15pm just got the car back. 8 months pregnant and haven't eaten all day because never did I think an oil change would take so long. There were people here after me for way more complicated services and they all finished before me. And I believe the only reason I got it back is because I went and told them I needed to leave at 3pm done or not (and it was still another 15 minutes past). I was very nice about it because it's not the desk workers fault but here I am venting online because it was absolutely ridiculous. Communicate with your customers so they can make informed decisions before you trap them there for an entire day!!

I had been going to Costco for years for my tires. The cost seemed so much better but the service was torturous. And you would have better luck getting Jesus on the phone than the tire center. On top of it, trying to go back for rotation was impossible unless you live in Kona. I tried Goodyear this time since I work in Hilo and the cost for a comparable tire with install was less than Costco, and I also got an alignment. Staff were friendly and efficient and my car was done in 2 hours. No secret fees, or extra charges. It was a great experience and will be easy to go back for rotations, etc. I m sold.

I don't even know where to start!Showed up at 2 PM for an appointment to get my front rotors replaced.At 5 PM, they call me saying the "parts didn't come in" and it won't get done today--but also, they've already taken my brakes off and the tech has gone home, so SURPRISE they're going to hold my car overnight...leaving me stranded in Hilo with no place to stay.In what universe is it OK to start a small, routine job, leave it half-finished, and tell your customer "Oh, by the way, better find a hotel for the night because we lied to you"?!?After some strong pushback from me, the parts magically appeared and they got it done before closing time.If you don't have time to do a job, just say so--don't waste your customers' time and cause them panic attacks by randomly announcing they're not going to make it home tonight.

Horrible planning. Called to see if they had 2 tires in stock, which they did. They asked if I wanted to just come in or make an appointment. I said I ll make an appointment so it can be faster. THEY suggested 12pm which worked for me. I check in at 11:55 and told them I ll wait for the car. 1:30 pm approaches and I take a walk outside to see my car just the way I left it, still untouched. They take the car in shortly after. The car is then not completed until 3:28pm. 3.5 hour wait to replace 2 tires! I had this same issue with Goodyear before and the only reason I came back was because I wanted matching tires. Never again. Not worth the wait.

I had an appointment for 10 am, I walk around for 1.5 hours to come back and hear they haven t even started my oil change. Give me a some sort of incentive and make it right then I can change the review.Not a bad establishment, as I have come a few times before but they dropped the ball big time

We had a flat while checking out this beautiful island, and these guys were very professional and courteous. They got our tire replaced (hole in sidewall) in a very timely manner. The bonus was that they had the tire size we needed for our car when a lot of places we checked didn't. I highly recommend them for your tire needs!

This is the second time i have done business with the Hilo office. Each time the wait to get my car has been double the quoted amount of time. And when I made a comment, I was just given excuses. I told them I would not be coming back again. It's their loss!

Got my truck towed to goodyear, with an appointment, and ETA. I wanted, imagine, MATCHING TIRES... They didnt have any Goodyears in stock. 3 empty bays at least, choke employees chatting idly outside, said 40 minutes to an hour... hour and change, walking in the rain, theres my truck still sitting there.. nothing... sent everyone to lunch at 3... Just spent $50 more at FIRESTONE for better tires. Guess Ill match those here on out. Thanks

Really really nice staff - but i dropped my car off for a tire rotation at 8am, never heard anything, called 6 hours later and they JUST started working on it. What was the point of an 8am reservation?

This place took care of us when no one else could, and saved us an entire tow truck trip back into town. The price was also just right. Special thanks to Christopher and Josiah, who stayed a little longer than required, in order to complete the job. I was in a pickle. Da kine of pickle where the engine oil warning light starts flickering like a 911 call.So, I called Goodyear on Kilauea and spoke with one of their crew. I told them my situation. I needed to have Goldilocks back ASAP so I could get back to work the next day.Dude calmed me down telling me to bring in the car first thing, leave it for the day, and they would find a slot to get me into the rotation.This ended up working well since I got to spend an afternoon wandering around downtown Hilo exploring the local shops and vibes.A few hours later, I got the phone call the car was ready and I'd be back on the road again cruising into work.The price was fair but the service was even better than I expected.Da Kine that gives me hope for another Goodyear. Mahalo.

YOU GUYZ ARE DA BOMB!!! Efficient, quick, friendly. Just On it!!!Had tires done. Gave them the wrong tire size but he managed to stay with the quote. He didn't have to since it was my error but he did! Added an Oil change when I checked in without a hitch. All done and on the road within two hours. I like that!!!! Was expecting to be there at least half a day. Will definitely return for my auto needs!!!

Our brake caliper was very loose so we stopped into the shop. Even though they were already closed, Chris and David diagnosed the problem and fixed it. They are so knowledgeable and helpful, I highly recommend them!

Took my 2001 XJ8 jaguar there for an oil change the day before my husband s funeral in 2021. We picked it up and drove it less than a quarter-mile when it started acting up badly then drove it back to the shop where they kept it overnight and checked it out . Disclaimed any responsibility stating that the check engine light was on when we dropped it off and any engine problems were not their responsibility.We drove it into their facility in perfect running condition and had to have it towed home where it s still sitting in my garage not being driven. I suspect that the oil was overfilled fouling out the plugs. An expensive repair on this type of car.

We took our truck in to get the tire mounted and aligned. 2 months later the valve stem bursted out of the back driver side tire. So we took it in to get fixed. They charged us to fix it. When they were done fixing the tire they called to say that they broke one lug nut and will charge us 400 dollars to fix it even though it was their fault. Today, 6 months later, the valve blew again so we called them to let them know and they stated that since it keeps coming off that it is a big issue and they will have to make another hole and weld the old valve hole shut. Therefore, we went to Firestone because I am done with GoodYear and they stated that GoodYear should have put a high pressure valve not low pressure. While looking at the other tires, they all have different valves. Just a heads up, go elsewhere. They will waste your time and money.

When you feel something s wrong with your car, you feel jittery and worried it may suddenly break down as you re driving in Hilo or Kona or wherever on the Big Island. So. you bring it to the shop and someone immediately looks at the problem and solves it with expertise. Nothing very serious yet. I drive away feeling happy and beyond satisfied with the customer service extended to me by Goodyear Hilo personnel. They re great, very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend!

I showed up at 3pm not knowing what was wrong with my car. It was vibrating like crazy, especially at high speeds, worse when I applied the brakes. I asked them to check and see if my tires are balanced and in good shape. I figured if it wasn t tires it might be a sticky brake caliper. Well, they squeezed me in, to balance and inspect my tires. Turns out the front tires were off balance so they balanced them. They didn t charge me because I have Goodyear tires. (I didn t know about that!)What a happy end to a harrowing day! The woman at the desk was friendly and helpful. All around good experience. Will definitely go back.

I drove an hour for my appointment only to find my tires were not in stock nor did they have any tires which would fit. This is completely unacceptable. The web site should check inventory at the schedule location and the shop should be screening the appointments to make sure they can do the service.

Went without an appointment due to a flat tire. Tire needed replacing. Wound up with 4 new tires for a fair price plus free installation. Thanks Chris D!

Brought the family 4Runner in for 4 new tires and wheel alignment. They were busy but we got in as a walk-in. We really needed to change the tires and they helped us so much by taking on the job on top of the other appointments. Friendly and knowledgeable customer service from Ben Legaspi, the technicians did a fast job and we were back on the road. I drove from the other side of the island to this place, specifically, and I will again.

Poor customer service in!!!questions: how can you as a company do a simple OIL CHANGE that takes over 2 hours?The other thing is : when I asked why it takes over 2 hours to do an oil change? The excuse I got was luck of staff !Well if you don't have full staff..well here's a thought: hire staff..!!!!!

Early Sunday morning I went to Goodyear Hilo to get a flat fixed. Although they were not able to fix the flat, Kylee and Shaysi were super helpful and courteous! They went over and beyond to allow me to have a positive experience. Thank you!
