Auto Cool is a hard working group of professionals. Nothing more miserable than an AC that is not working in sweltering Georgia heat. Took my 16 year old Honda Civic in with a intermittent problem w the AC. They analyzed everything, changed out the relay, and adjusted the gap, and refreshed the freon. After driving a few days, the problem still persisted. Called Brad back, and took it back in...upon closer inspection and running the system extensively, they discovered the condenser was not working properly. They order the correct Honda condenser and credited what I had paid on previous service visit. Older cars can be hard to diagnose w intermittent issues, but these guys are good. I took my vehicle in at 9am and they had it diagnosed less than 2 1/2 hours. Of course I'm very thankful it was something simple this time. I would like to thank them for their honesty and great service. I will return in the future.

These guys know what they're doing!! Experts all around. I drive from the other side of Atlanta. It is worth it when they fix it right the first time. Never a bad experience.

I was having problems with ac for 4 months, finally I went to the dealer for Lincoln. They quoted me $2400.00 for a new ac compressor which I thought was not the problem. I decided to keep searching for a solution. A church member had the same problem, air compressor was not stay on to allow freon to be fill in his Cadillac. He took his car in after getting a quote to fix for over $750.00. He went to Auto Cool to get it fixed for under $500.00. I got my car fixed in less than 3 hours for $461.00. My air has been not working properly for about 6 months and I had been dreading taking it to get fixed. I finally decided to bring it to Auto Cool first thing this morning. They were so friendly and communicative. Although it ended up being a bigger fix than I anticipated, they were still able to get it done in one day (the day before a major holiday as well). Beautiful work. Notice the elegant routing of the coolant lines over the radiator cowl. Before and After Photo's. Work on my Nearly Original 1976 GMC Sprint CS (El Camino sybling). Before and after AC restoration by Auto Cool. Prompt Service, Reasonable prices. They have earned their excellent reputation among classic car owners in GA.

I went to this shop today Because my air wasn't blowing out of my front vents in my van. Did you do a visual inspection and no charge. Then they call me in about 15 minutes and let me know that it would be $110 an hour to fix my van. They told me that I have to leave it with them and they don't know how long it's going to take to fix the problem. Well I do not play those type games. You all can charge me what you want to charge me keep my van for however long. I left and took my van to another shop and I paid them $50 to fix my van. It did not take long at all and now air is blowing out of my vents again.

After 25 years the air conditioning in my 1998 Honda Accord finally failed. I chose Auto cool in Smyrna to repair my Vehicle's air conditioner.Due to the vehicle's age, the issues with this air conditioner were quite extensive.The Personnel at Auto Cool did what they could to restore my vehicle's air conditioning. On my way home after they had repaired the recirculation door and other issues on the air conditioner I was quite satisfied with their repair.Services: A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

A buddy told me about this place several years ago when I was having intermittent AC issues. Took my Z there and they diagnosed the problem at no cost and was able to get me my AC back! (needed a new compressor)Fast forward several years, dad's truck has no AC. Drop it off and they quickly diagnosed the issue and had it fixed the same day. And I loved how they explained the next steps and why they would do each thing, without me having to ask them why.I'll be back for my future AC needs, that's for sure!

I am pleased with their honesty and I recommend their services. I left my car to get the ac repaired and it took them a while to do so, but when I got my car back, something was wrong with it. The car was not shifting gears. I contacted them and asked them to take a quick look to see if maybe some wire or something may have accidentally been disconnected. They did take my car back in, took a look at it and fixed the problem at no charge. I was very happy about that! My car never had any problem before and I had just done maintenance on it a few days before, so it had to be something that happen when they fixed the ac. Thank you for being trustworthy! The only little thing that I would like to say is, for the price of the service, I think they could have put in a new ac compressor. But its ok because they offer a 1 year warranty for the service, which is great! Thank you!Service: A/C installation & repair

These guys was great. A/C went out on my 2014 Chevy Silverado. I took it to Auto Cool because I was told they did great work. And they did! I took it in one day and they worked with my extended warranty company. Jerry called me on the phone the same day, told me the problem, cost the warranty covered and my cost. The next morning they had me ready to go. Great staff and easy to work with and very reasonable prices. Will sure use Auto Cool again if I ever need any auto a/c work done.Service: Repair HVAC

They are a group of elderly experienced A/C experts. They believe they are so good at what they do that customer service is not all that important to them. They barely replied my "Good Morning" greeting. I believe they did my A/C good (All they did was add freon) but they mentioned I had a leak somewhere and were going to charge me btw $800-$1200 (this part, I believe may be their hustle, cos I witnessed them call another customer and say exactly the same thing they told me). I told em just cupple my engine back wt d freon refill like that. I'm in between about how I feel about them. I don't know that I will go back though.

This place was amazing! Been to the the dealership 3 times to fix the ac and no luck spent thousands of dollars. Came to auto cool and they diagnosed and fixed the issue for $350. Amazing would recommend

Had high hopes for this place, waited a few months until I was visiting family in the area because I had confidence a specialist would be able to diagnose and replace a small part rather than recommending to replace the compressor/dryer/etc.The car has a scroll and vane type compressor with a fairly new compressor/dryer (about 4 years old) with a widely known issue that the scroll valve wears out quickly. The diagnosis I received is "compressor is not pumping good" and a quote of $1500 to replace the compressor/dryer/recharge the system. The system doesn't pressurize correctly below 2,000 rpm, but cools exceptionally well when not at idle. Very disappointing for what is likely a $9 part. I understand that refrigerant recovery tools, and disposal, are expensive, and that running a shop takes a significant investment, so I was expecting about $400+ for labor and a $10 part, but I'm definitely not willing to hand over $1500 for "compressor is not pumping good" to replace essentially the entire working side of a fairly new system.I am however happy they didn't charge a diagnostic fee, although I already knew the "compressor is not pumping good" and it would've been a big shock if the refrigerant were low (I never even put gauges on it to check because the symptoms were so specific to the scroll valve, and the system o-rings were all replaced along with the compressor 4 years ago).Probably still a good place to get your auto ac repaired, just my personal experience was disappointing. Will report back and remove this complaint if the scroll valve doesn't fix my problem

These guys are PROS. Super quick fix of pretty much my entire AC set up. If you have warranty coverage please let them know before they start lol all around a great experience. Extremely efficient and thorough. I took an Accord to Auto Cool in which several components had been replaced at no less than 3 other shops, but still no one could get the A/C to blow cold. They diagnosed the problem in 2 hours & had the car ready to go the next day for a reasonable price. I only wished I had just brought the Accord here after the 1st shop attempted to repair it. I could ve saved months & about a $1000 in useless repairs.Service: Air conditioning

Could not be happier with the service Auto Cool provided. Before coming to Auto Cool, I took my vehicle to another reputable local shop where I was highly quoted for an AC job I didn t need. The guys at Auto Cool knew exactly what my car needed without the up-charge or additional unnecessary work. Will absolutely return if I need their services again in the future.

Review: Read other reviews. Tis true, Brad is rude.*** UPDATE: Found a place to fix my AC for much cheaper. It seems AUTOCOOL was as I stated, telling me to repair things that didn't need fixing too!They'll charge you for a diagnostic and tell you to repair the whole shebang.Diagnostic $88.Quote $1594 + tax.Having previously replaced my compressor 10 years ago for $1000 tax included, I was blown away by the quote. The quote was however replacement of the compressor and condenser.I priced the more expensive parts online as a kit for $500 shipped. When I inquired about the pricing Brad said"Any 12 year old with a smartphone can do that..." and he went on to justify the charges saying workers comp, building, blah blah blah.I paid my diagnostic fee and picked up my car. I got money in the bank. I'll happily pay 1600 to another garage cause Brad was salty.AutoLame.Service: Vehicle Inspection

These guys fixed my AC system for $1200 less than another place that quoted me for the issue. Their expertise led them to conclude that only replacing the compressor was necessary, as opposed to also replacing the condenser and expansion valve. They worked quickly and in a professional manner that gave me confidence they'd get the job done. If I ever have AC or heating problems again, I will be taking my car right back here.Service: Air conditioning

The original estimate was about $250. I was impressed with their honesty when they told me it was an issue only the dealership could fix. They then charged us only $50 for a diagnostic.

I brought in my mustang which had a massive leak behind the dash. They diagnosed the problem quickly and told me exactly what was wrong and needed replacement and didn't try to sell me on anything else.They were on time, exactly on budget with their quoted price, and fixed the problem quickly. On top of that, they had to completely disassemble my dash and I'm quite impressed that I don't appear to have any rattles from that, though only time will tell for sure.The nature of the beast with HVAC issues is that they are pricey, but I feel confident with the quality and comfortable with the service and would definitely use them again in the future.Services: Repair HVAC, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning

I would highly recommend this place. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and they won't try to rip you off. I took my Mazda in because the AC was blowing warm air. They diagnosed my issue and told me my car is probably still under warranty and to take it to a Mazda dealership to get the issue fixed with the condenser. I took it to Mazda and sure enough it was under warranty. So HUGE props to them for being honest and advising me to do what was best for me and my wallet! Great place with excellent customer service.

I really wished I listened to the bad reviews, could ve saved myself the headache and wasted time. The first time I went I asked to see what was going on with my ac, since it didn t work(free service). Then they came back hours later to say I d need to get the paid option to check it and they look deeper into it. I had to come back for the second time as I don t have more hours to wait. When I came back the second time they a diagnostic which they said my compressor had internal computer failures. Priced my labor at around 950 I said fine I ll come back because that labor would take a day to do and they had to order my part. I asked if they were sure that s all it was and that s what they told me. Come to the day of my repair and they re taking it apart and then they come and say we ll we didn t expect that there would be more wrong with your ac system ( even though I paid them to check and see why it wasn t working) so then they said they needed to replace my whole system and it would be twice the price they stated before. Now I didn t have a problem paying the price of the repair but I at that point I didn t trust them whatsoever, since I already had it checked by them and it seems they didn t check it properly and made me wait for hours for nothing. I decided to go with another repair service. The last time I allowed a mechanical shop to do everything this shop did while they were changing out my engine they did they broke my ac and took no fault in it. Sorry I just cause trust anymore people who don t know what integrity means. Just my experience maybe yours will be different.

I had a terrible experience with customer service here. I am not normally one to post but I could not believe the way I was spoken to on the phone. I went to another mechanic after the fact who charged me significantly less for the problem I had with my AC in my car. My biggest issue here was not the work but the way they talk and handle their customers.

Always thankful for car shops like these. These guys are very professional, and super helpful. When my compressor and sensor went bad, they didn't just say "this went bad and needs to be replaced". They explained the reasoning to a level I could understand, and why the bad parts were causing the symptoms that my truck was having. If you have A/C issues, take your car here. Went to Auto Cool this afternoon. Jay and team took great care of my Kia that hasn t been running cold air in ages. Super quick diagnostic, thorough explanation of what was needed and suggested I had plenty of time before the hot months set in and work would be needed. I decided to get the work today given they had the part in stock, and the team was speedy and great. Friendly group, excellent work. If you need auto air conditioner work this is the place to go!

Great mechanics. Clearly and easily described the problem with my A/C and presented me with options. Fantastic work.Came back a year later with a different vehicle. Brad fixed my leaf after the dealer said I needed a new heat pump. Cannot recommend this shop enough. 10/10 service.

We ve had two different cars repaired here - each with different kinds of air conditioning problems. Both times the cost was a fraction of what the dealer was going to charge and they were so professional and quick to make the repairs. They are kind, honest and hardworking. Can t ask for more. Very grateful!
