Holy wow! Driving up into the Sylvan Valley Lodge at dusk and seeing it for the first time with all its lights lit was a breathtakingly beautiful sight! It is such a gorgeous property! Then we walked in and were greeted by an open and friendly staff and proceeded upstairs to find our HUGE and perfect room! The only thing that was better than our room was the gigantic common area that boasts floor to ceiling windows overlooking a mountain view. The property is second to none. And we had already decided to return based on how wonderful the amenities were but then we entered the gift shop! It is filled with unique finds and hosted by the property manager, Brandi. She is such a warm and kind person who is genuinely interested in her guests and in ensuring that your stay has been perfect. I am incredibly impressed by her management of both the property and by her customer service!I cannot recommend Sylvan Valley highly enough!!! Just go see for yourself!Rooms: Spacious, large closet space, luxuriousNearby activities: Close to Helen and Cleveland

Positive and negative experience. The location of this lodge was perfect for visiting Helen. Not in the bustle of the town, but only a short drive away. The lodge itself was very nice and I love the contactless check in. I loved the small, homey feel. The complimentary coffee and snacks were nice as well. My first issue was check in. On the paperwork, it states that rooms will be ready no later than 3pm, however, we were not given our room code until 3:08pm. I paid almost $200 for 1 night in a king suite, but I just didn t feel it was worth that price. It was a super tiny and outdated room. The shower head was about to fall out of the wall and was spraying water everywhere. There were bug traps under the bed. Overall, it was nice and I would book again, however, the rooms could use some tlc for that price.

Our Stay, 5 January 2024, was less comfortable than expected for the price of "The Suite'. The impressive website description makes it sound so much better than what it really was.Firstly... it was clean and gives a B&B vibe with very nice decor and most comforts of home... like Microwave, Refrigerator, Coffeemaker and even Free snacks and Quick Breakfast options. Also there is WiFi and Steaming TV's for both the downstairs and the upstairs areas. However, what is not explained in the description is that this Suite, which is supposed to accommodate up to 5 people, only has (1) one small bathroom on the lower level that must be shared amongst everyone. So the persons staying in the "Master Bedroom", that is located upstairs, must to go downstairs just to access the bathroom. Which means they will most likely wake up everyone else just to use the restroom and have they can have NO Privacy!Additionally, the Master Bedroom Mattress is Extra Extra Firm which makes it Very Hard for the average or aging persons to sleep comfortably. We had wished it was way softer for a more comfortable and relaxing visit, especially for the price of stay. My wife even ended up sleeping on the sectional foam couch... which was only big enough for one (1) petite person and I had to sleep alone. Which ruined our romantic vacation.Until a bathroom is added to the upstairs Master Area I cannot in good conscious recommend this "Suite" to anyone. It's Very Disappointing that we could not have a private area of our own!!! Let's not forget a softer mattress!!!!

We stayed at Sylvan Valley Lodge & Cellars Sept 29-Oct 1 and it was the best experience! Lucy gave us great recommendations in town for dinner and we did the complimentary wine tasting our second night. Scott and Lucy were incredible at explaining the wines and they were so friendly! The room was perfect, the bed was comfortable and the wines were wonderful! We even bought two bottles to bring home with us. The experience at Sylvan Valley Lodge and Cellars made our second anniversary unbelievable.Rooms: The room was perfect! He he d was comfortable, the tv had cable, the WiFi was great (especially considering the area), and the hot tub was perfect!Nearby activities: Helen and Cleveland are both wonderful towns with plenty to do. We are at Spuce 55 and it was delicious! We also went to JumpinGoat at the recommendation of the owner (I think) and it was a great experience with an incredible view!Walkability: It is a few minutes of a drive to get into Cleveland or Helen, but it s well worth it. It s out of the hustle, bustle and noise of Helen, but close enough to get there within 5 minutes.Food & drinks: We only had the wine, but it did not disappoint!

We spent our 29th Wedding Anniversary weekend here! Oh my Gosh, what a Diamond in the Valley!! It was our first time at a Bed n Breakfast. We were not looking for mega hotel type of rooms. The rooms were cozy, comfortable and relaxing. The manager, Charlie-Anne, was the Best Hostess I have EVER encountered, talked to, or gotten to know. Lucy, the bar and wine tasting host was complimentary to Charlie-Anne. I don't remember the cleaning staffs names but the mother and daughter team were like your Favorite Auntie you know. We rested, ate, loved on each other, and had a Wonderful time! We can't wait to come back to stay a little longer!Rooms: Super cozy and clean!Nearby activities: Close to town with easy accessFood & drinks: Great breakfast, music, and wine

If you want a getaway that is calm and peaceful, but still have access to the all the things north Georgia has to offer this is the place to stay! We loved everything about this it! We had a great time wine tasting and listening to the live music. If you want to eat at one of their other properties, they will get the reservation for you. Overall 10/10 experience and highly recommend!

This lodge was very nice. There was even a separate building where people could have weddings. When you walk in the door of the lodge the smell of the place itself was really good. Our room was lovely, large, and very clean! The bed and bedding was so comfortable. Annie (the manager), Gail, and Colette all went out of there way to be as informative and helpful as possible. The staff made sure we had ice and everything else we needed for our stay. The only thing was that we stayed during the week and the tasting room and gift shop wasn't open while we were there, but maybe next time! Overall it was a beautiful stay with very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here! You won't be disappointed.

We had a weekend team retreat at Sylvan Valley Lodge and Cellars, and it was a great crowdpleaser. It s a small lodge (eight rooms, I think). Our party of nine enjoyed the rooms, wine tasting, dinner, and breakfasts. The staff were all friendly and provided a warm welcome. A special treat was meeting chef Madeline Medon, executive chef at Kaya Vineyard and winery (a sister location), who gave us an impromptu motivational speech. We were able to use a section of the dining room that was closed off to provide a meeting space, and it worked well for us. Thanks to all for making it a very special weekend.

Honestly an amazing experience. If you re traveling through Helen, this place is the perfect place as it it just outside the downtown bustling area and is very serene and a nice break from the lively life in the town. I booked a room through a third party website and was given a courtesy call that the room I requested was not available but was still accommodated with an upgrade. Our reservation came with a complimentary wine tasting. We staying in a cabin. It was very clean and the hot tub was worth everything. There s a lot more to come from what I hear about this growing business. If you re traveling though Helen, this is this place you need to book.

My mom and I did a wine tasting and loved it! All of the staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable, and our server Kristen was amazing! She was so helpful and friendly!! Our favorites were the stainless steel Chardonnay and the Cabernet Franc. Very cozy indoors with a great view outside. I would highly recommend visiting on the weekend when they have live music! We will definitely be back!!

Unpleasant stay. For the cost of this resort, there was nothing peaceful about our room. It was listed as a premium or superior king room, yet there was no hospitality whatsoever. My first impression of this location was whimsical and idealistic with the wooded area surrounding these beautiful cabins. Unfortunately the king bed was sunken in and there were four broken bed frame feet along with an AC unit that was leaking water. It drenched the carpet on my side of the room, so every time I would get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom my feet would get soaked. DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 16! I am not an expert on any other rooms in this resort, just the one my husband and I stayed in.I am so happy to be going home! Helen, GA is beautiful and the mountains were beyond picturesque! Please be careful when choosing this resort/lodge. Do not go with the non-refundable option like we did. I would have moved on to an actual vineyard/resort in Dahlonega and would have gladly spent more money if it meant being able to get an actual good nights sleep. We got maybe 2/4 days good night sleep. And it s impossible to be able to go on a hiking trip when you don t have any sleep to energize you for something like that.

I had most of the guests at my wedding staying at Sylvan. These were clients and family from all over the world. I am blown away from the cleanliness, ease of parking, but most of all, the availability of the owner Ginevra at any hour. She even drove my parents 3 times to town. This is the best hotel in the area, and they even have a separate bridal room to get ready in. The surroundings are beautiful and some of the rooms have jacuzzi. There are also two unbelievably beautiful cabins. Their wine is incredible as well. I d give ten stars if I could.

The place was very cute and the folks that worked there were very pleasant. However Lucas indicated to us that we were getting a freshly renovated room. It clearly was not. There were cracks in all the tile and the floor was not properly finished. That wasn t the biggest problem I drop some thing and looked under the bed and there was about 10 weeks of dust and debris underneath the bed. This room has not been even cleaned properly in the last 10 months much less refurbished. I was also very disappointed to get snowed at the last second by having an email the day before were coming in saying that there was a $15 resort fee per day. If you re going to charge a resort fee for a resort included in the price don t sandbag people the day before they re coming in. Haley at the wine counter was excellent and very hospitable.

My husband and I spent our first weekend after of the shelter-in-place order was lifted in Georgia at the Sylvan Valley Lodge. This was the perfect destination to ease back into the new normal thanks to the fabulous owners, Ginevra and John, and their chef, Robert. They were hospitable and professional. We enjoyed an evening sipping wine, including mead, from their winery and participating in a round of karaoke. We slept very well on the comfy king mattress with buttery soft sheets and perfectly fluffy pillows. Breakfast was phenomenal including a selection of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, maple syrup and jams. Ginevra s specialty blend of coffee hit the spot. The location was convenient to all our favorite wineries. We highly recommend a stay at the Sylvan Valley Lodge!

Just returned from a weekend retreat and wine tasting tour at Sylvan Valley Lodge near Helen, Georgia. We chose this spot because of it's central location to many of the North Georgia wineries we planned to visit. We were enchanted with the accommodations, the yummy made-to-order breakfasts and the warm hospitality of the owners. We stayed in Cabin 21 which had been freshly renovated - comfy furniture, room to spread out and a balcony all our own. We arrived in time for a tasting of the Lodge's own wine label, Frolicking Faerie. The owners are just completing a wedding special event spot which is picture perfect.

If you are looking for a quiet B&B close to Helen, this is the place to go. Rooms are clean, breakfast is absolutely delicious and the owners are AMAZING!! You can tell they put their heart and soul into the lodge. Definitely will be staying again in the near future. You have to do a wine tasting as well. They offer a great selection

The lodge was nice, but not spectacular. The owner went out of his way to immediately correct a window crank issue, and then a TV reception issue. The room was nice, and the property is lovely. Both the balcony and the patio are a lovely place in the evening to enjoy a bottle of wine and relax. The view is incredible, but the lodge is very close to the road, and traffic noises kind of spoiled the ambience The breakfast is EXCELLENT. The thin pancakes are like crepes, and the best I have had in a long time, served with a personal size bottle of maple syrup. The sausage is very good, with a touch of spicy. I prefer decaf coffee, but they do not offer it. The orange juice seemed like fresh squeezed. If not, it was very good. The wine tasting was intimate, as there were only 3 couples, but the cheese and crackers left a lot to be desired. I believe the lodge is an enormous undertaking, and requires all the heart and soul the owners have, but I don't believe it is worth $165.00 a night. Fortunately, we had a Living Social deal that was far less costly. Good luck to the owners of Sylvan Lodge. Both wonderful people.
