A1 was recommended by my Transmission Builder back home in Tampa Florida. I called them up asking a few questions to find out why my Trucks transmission was running a little on the hotter side. Mitch basically diagnosed it over the phone from what I was describing him, the culprit was a burnt up Fan Clutch. Fast forward to today, I call Mitch again asking when I would be able to get in the shop since they typically have a 2-3 week lead time for service. Not only was Mitch able to squeeze me in today, he had the part sitting there waiting for me after ordering it this morning. Had the brand new part in and truck back up and running within an hour including a new belt tensioner and belt that was one long drive away from failing.I cannot give this place enough stars, they made a lifetime customer with not only their service and mechanical knowledge but also treating me like one of their own. Offering some great food cooked by none other than the owner himself as I waited for the truck to be finished up. Chris and his shop were amazing to work with. He helped my Son and I with our 1987 Bronco project. He expertly diagnosed a significant unknown issue and worked with us on other miscellaneous issues and roadblocks (none of them caused by Chris).He went above and beyond on the job, yet his final price was the same as what he quoted at the beginning. Chris answers the phone promptly and communicated with us during the rebuild. I know he had more time in this rebuild than he originally estimated (again not due to Chris).The transmission looks new and my Son was so thrilled to finally drive the project truck after over 2 years of restoration work. I followed my 16 year old home from the shop, and at a red light my Son turned around and looked at me through the back window. He had a huge smile on his face and gave me a big thumbs up. Chris helped make this possible. I will definitely use A-1 Performance Transmissions in the future.

Looked around extensively to get a new 68RFE. Every big name transmission shop seem to have a long lead time and would cost nearly $10,000. I needed a transmission now. I know that when it comes to transmissions and diesel trucks you get what you pay for. So I knew I was going to spend a lot of cash to fix this truck. I stumbled upon A1 transmissions. After seeing all the work done to their transmissions, it was almost too good to be true. I told them I would need one soon as possible. They had me one built in less than a week. So I took the gamble and purchased a transmission from these guys. And boy do I have nothing but great things to say. Trans is performing better than I could imagine and the best part is not only does it come with jam up warranty, but I paid far less than what this transmission is worth. These guys are awesome. Super clean shop! Cleaned around and under truck while it was being worked on. Chris knows his stuff! Knew exactly what our issue was before examining truck, and was spot on! Workers were clean and polite. Staff nice to our kids. We were stranded with this issue, and the shop made a spot to fit us in so we could get back to our 20+ hour drive!!! Highly recommend!

I thought I had entered into a neurological surgery center or perhaps an electronics clean facility like they make chips in with no dust. This is the most spotless well organized work on anything to do with the car place I've ever been in my life... So if their quality of work which I've heard is impeccable is commensurate with level of cleanliness organization and attention to detail on their facility then ... I can pretty much count on it being a job well done.Seriously somebody took a picnic lunch and go over there and eat in the main area of the shopping you won't want to drop a crumb... I have never been treated so amazingly anywhere as I was by A1 Transmission. This being the first time ever using Chris, he worked on my car maybe 20 minutes but IMMEDIATLY he made me feel as though we were family. He was so honest, thorough, and was such a blessing to me at just the right time. I could not of been treated any better, and that's the truth. He is now my ALL time go-2 auto mechanic and I would refer him to anyone. I can't thank Chris and his team enough for their genuine gracious service and warm hearts.

Got my 7.3 OBS back today shifts smooth.I crawled under the truck and was amazed at how good the install was . These guys know there business and went the extra mile ! I would highly recommend them for your transmission needs!Thanks for the extras on the lights and driveshafts.

Had a Ford F250 diesel that needed transmission work. Seen a video on Chris and his shop, A1 Performance Transmission. I called Chris and told him that I was tired of my wife calling me from the highway broken down while hauling horses. Chris said if I could get the truck to him he would have it done in a week or two at the most. I told Chris I could have it to him on Monday around lunch. He called me on Friday morning and said it would be ready by lunch. It was!!! Thanks Chris and A1 Performance Transmission for talking the talk and then backing it up. We now have a bullet proof transmission on our Ford F250. The wife is happy!!!

I am sorry, but this is what happened to me:But a built trany for 99 7.3, which i told them i use it for hotshot, they said fine no problem, put a mishimoto radiator, new overdrive switch have them installed, trany lost a gear in the first 40 k, towing downtime, they fixed again, not even 30 k miles again, same thing happen again, they blamed the torque convertor company, i lost tens of thousands of dollars, they fixed, it broken again .they fixed, they said this time not gonna happen again, it did, again around 20-40 k miles, they stopped answered my calls or my emails!Bought a 4500 usd trany, broke 4 times, no reimbursment for nothing ridiculous

When it s my truck broke down we find a local mechanic ... he promised us to fix the truck and give us warranty ... Drive my truck for 300 miles and I broke down again ... upset don t know what to do I got a number for A 1 transmission and I spoke with Chris. I throw my vehicle to the shop in after a few days to make a trip to the shop to find out talk to him .. The shop is extremely clean ...he s really explaining everything to me at the details when I pick up my vehicle I got a amazing performance from the truck ...thank you KRIS and thank you crew to do everything fast .. highly recommended .. Chris at A-1 rebuilt my transmission in my 2003 F150 SVT Lightning and did an awesome job at a fantastic price. They do all sorts of auto repairs for me. No one else will ever touch one of my vehicles again.

I can t say enough good things about Chris Garrett and A1 Transmission. This man goes above and beyond for his customers which is a rare thing these days. If you need any transmission work done, especially if it s a 4R100 out of a Lightning or SuperDuty, Chris is your man. He truly cares about turning out a quality product.

Took my 2010 GMC Sierra to Chris and his team with a messed up transmission with only having 116,000 on the odo! Needless to say Chris and his team have my truck running better than brand new! Thanks so much for making me like my truck again! Would highly recommend A1 to anyone having issue with there transmission. Thanks again guys!

The entire team at A1 is exactly that, A1! Super friendly, extremelly welcoming, and know what they are doing. It was a long time coming for me to get my bulletproof'd 4r100 and as Chris said, built to handle the punishment. Highly, highly recommend anyone and everyone to go to Chris and A1.

Chris and staff treated me like family both times I've dealt with them1st build is a e4od behind a turbo ford lightning makin 800 to tires2nd build is my duramax work truck. My allison trans has never shifted better! I tow daily and heavy with it

I take my 7,3 to A1 transmission shop CrisPaid 5000$ with cooler, Transmision shift like off road truck, have 2 different leaks, missing one boltNo power for towing running high rpm whentow override light blinks of on this is going on for month i think he need to put me on payroll, he is nice guy but!!!!! Tomorrow is last chance to fix i hope he will

WISH I CAN GIVE CHRIS AND HIS CREW 10 STARS. IF YOU HAVE A 4R100 TRANS THAT HAS ISSUES, CHRIS IS THE MAN. HE REBUILDS THEM HIMSELF, SO YOU HAVE THE SHOP OWNERS PERSONAL TOUCH ON THE REBUILD. THE BULLETPROOFING IS WORTH EVERY DIME. I DROVE BACK TO DE FROM GA IN MY LIFTED 4X4 E350 CAMPER VAN. IT FELT LIKE I WAS DRIVING A BIG OLD CADDY. SHIFTING WAS SMOOTH..EXCELERATION WAS EXCELLENT. THANKS CHRIS.
