Great service, timely and most of all HONEST folks. Car repairs, especially transmissions, can be costly and, to be honest, hard to find good, Ole Honest folks these days. Well I personally know 1st hand this place is the real deal. Then, if all that wasn't good enough, their estimate was more than the actual cost of the rebuild. I will trust no one more than these folks at Roswell Transmission.

After 14 years, the transmission on my beloved Mini Cooper failed, and I did not want to part with it. I'm writing this review because it's been over three months since I had a new transmission rebuilt by Gary and his team and I'm pleased with the quality of the work and how my car drives. As a woman, I'm always concerned about being taken advantage of by car mechanics, but from the beginning, Gary made me feel safe and protected. If you are looking for a business that is trustworthy, professional, knowledgeable, and experienced then I highly recommend Roswell Transmission without reservation. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy my car no doubt for many years to come!Service: Transmission replacement

Seriously great guys and great service. Gary and team did a fantastic job getting our car operational. I will say, we had to call the first few days to make sure everything was on schedule (they seem very busy!), But after that it was smooth sailing. Thankful for them and the team.

I was impressed with the exceptional service I received from Garry. I needed my transmission re programmed, and with all the shops I called in the area no one was willing to help me but this one did. Thank you so much for helping me out, and I will definitely be coming back.

Gary has some issue going on over there. He will lie as long as you let him lie to you. He will keep your car for as long as you let him making excuse after excuse. He will waste all of your time. The constant lies are laughable. I don t know how he s lasting there as a mechanic. Absolutely disgraceful

Roswell Transmission was the 4th mechanic to look at my 2004 Acura MDX. The first three mechanics (including two from the Acura dealership) all agreed that the transmission needed to be replaced. Roswell Transmission looked at it and said the transmission was fine but that two engine mounts needed to be replaced. They were right, after the engine mounts were changed it was back to running great. I appreciate Gary and Roswell Transmission taking to time to figure out what the actual issue was and getting it fixed.Service: Transmission repair

Place is unorganized, have cars everywhere. Their mechanic Josh says he spends about 2hrs a day just playing "musical cars." Anyways, dropped my truck off and it sat there for 3 weeks and all they did was move it a couple times. Gary has too much going on.I was not in a hurry and told him this, but none of the timetables we discussed were followed through with.Gary wasted 3 weeks of my time.

Great repair shop. After reading several reviews I decided to give Roswell Transmission a call to get my 750li BMW transmission repaired. I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled to share my experience with Roswell Transmission Repair. The dealership quote was ridiculously overpriced and I wanted a transmission specialist to perform the work. After talking with Gary for about 30 minutes I decided to go with his services. I explained to him i needed my car ready and working on a certain date because I had business in florida. He agreed that he could have it fixed and running in good shape. I paid $170.00 in diagnostics fees to the dealership and it was not accurate. Gary diagnosed the problem replaced the parts on my transmission , discovered some other problems that i thought was suspect because the dealership told me it was another problem that needed to be repaired. I later found out thru Gary they were incorrect. They told me i needed a valley coolant pan and the problem was the water pump. I argued wth Gary and told him I didn't need a water pump because I had just replaced the pump two years ago. I don't know what happened but he replaced it anyway. I went in for a transmission repair and there were other issues popping up and i said this guy is trying the old bait and switch trick. I was not happy with that and I needed my vehicle back , but I waited patiently. They were busy.He told me I needed to replace the sensor on the lower hose and I didn't need a hose as the dealership suggested along with some other things. Bottom line is this .. I had a wonderful experience with Roswell Transmission. They saved me a lot of money and after paying a bit more than I originally anticipated, which was significantly lower that the dealership, I was very impressed with their work. My wife and I went home , put our luggage in the car and drove to Miami Florida. The car ran like it was brand new. No leaks period. I have since put over 5k miles on the car in less that 40 days and it still runs better than it did before. Gary advised me to let him keep it additional day before giving it back to me and I'm glad i listened to him.His top mechanic Josh worked on my vehicle and he is very familiar with those bimmers. I'm going back . I live in Stone Mountain but I will drive or have my vehicle towed if needed to Roswell Transmission Shop. They have a new customer. My new mechanic is Josh. Good service..... Down to earth folks. You just have to be patient at times but they take pride in their work and Gary is a really knowledgable guy. He's not out there to rip you off. He may cuss at time but he has christian values. They just don't do transmissions and they offer warranties with their work and products. I'm very happy with my experience.Services: Transmission repair, Oil change

I have used this business on two occasions and will forever use them as long as I'm in this area. It can be hard to find a good honest mechanic but Roswell Transmission is good. I had major issues with my car pertaining to my transmission, electrical issues as well as my car battery and they were absolutely professional and right on time when it came to a diagnosis and a remedy. They fixed my car and the price was was very reasonable especially related to the amount of work I had done. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is seeking a trustworthy mechanic.Services: Transmission, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery, Oil change

Gary and his technician Josh really took care of me. Excellent experience. People generally write reviews when they are pissed off so I thought I would write about how these guys went out of their way to help me. We bought a 1949 Chevy truck and it is in bad shape. It has a factory shifter on a replacement small block engine and it is a mess. They were very up front about what they could and couldn't do and what they thought I should and shouldn't do. They didn't talk down to me, weren't cocky but were nice, helpful and friendly. They knew I was under a bit of a time schedule and they helped me meet my deadline. They did what they said which was to get it "working" and we now have a plan for how to fix it permanently. I was treated fairly and charged a reasonable price. I can understand how for some people a transmission repair can be difficult because there are so many variations and parts that have to be ordered and you have to find them. For me, I knew that and came in with a plan to get it working and then repair it permanently.

Gary rebuilt my transmission a year ago, just recently had to replace my radiator. Called him up for a reference and found out they did all that work in house -- took him 3 days, found some serious issues and handled them all like a pro. Got my jeep back and it rides great, no issues! Definitely recommend for a trustworthy repair shop!

WORST COMPANY EVER! It took more than one month to get my car back and they charged $500 more than we discussed constantly. This is the story. We chose this company because they said it took about 3-5 business days to repair the transmission and it will cost between $2,500-$2,800 which is cheaper than any other company I talked with. They got my car 1 week before Christmas, so after one whole week I called Gary to ask if it was ready but it wasn t so I gave them another week(while being respectful & understanding the whole time). After waiting another week I called them again and besides of telling me my vehicle is finished they asked me questions such as why the car broke down, if it made a sound, etc. those were questions they should've asked me beforehand and I realized they haven t started on the car yet. When they told me the transmission was completely burned I asked to make sure the price was still the same and they said it was. Another week went by so I proceeded to call them once again. Gary explained how they had to order new part for the car which should come in the same day but it came in 2 days later and when it did arrive they told me the wrong part came in. He made so many excuses on why it wasn t finished yet and expected me to be okay with it but no excuses were valid to have my car for so long. 3 or 4 days later they said the car is fixed but they have to test drive it before I come pick it up. Next day they said it was leaking,(didn t explain to me what was leaking) so they had to fix it and they should be done by 2:30 the next day. Next day I called but the car was still not ready for pick up! I finally got my car back January 22th and they charged me $3,312. I tried to save money but I endedUp spending more on money and time. I had to use Lyft multiple times to work because of the unfulfilled promises the owner Gary made to me. If he wasn't unable to do the car for whatever reason then it would ve been completely fine I would ve went to another company who would have been more professional and communicated better with me. Gary would also say he would call me back in 30 minutes but wouldn t call the rest of the day. I gave them plenty of time, and I always treated them with kindness but I was taken advantage for that. I will be contacting a better business bureau to let you people know about this ridiculous company. Save your money and time by going somewhere else, best of wishesService: Transmission

I hate to write a bad review, and only do when someone has earned it as Gary has done at this point.I turned in my truck to get the clutch done as well as some other work just before Thanksgiving 2016.The truck sat at his shop for a full month and he never did one single thing to it.I called him three separate times, and three separate times he gave me a deadline when he would have the truck fixed. All three times he did not fix the truck. In fact he didn't do anything to the truck. He ended up giving me the keys back not charging me anything, Because he didn't do anything to the truck.Unfortunately, on two of the three times when he said my truck would be fixed I scheduled jobs that I've been had to hire a subcontractor to come and clean up the debris. That cost me $900. I'm very disappointed and will never take a truck back to Gary again. At the end of the day Gary if you give someone your word, you get yourself underneath the truck and you do what it takes to honor your word. If you're unwilling to come in on the weekend to honor your word, then I'm going to tell the world about it. You had a month to fix my truck and you didn't even Do one single thing on the list. You also didn't bother to call me on either of the 3 times when you said that the truck would be ready to give me a warning that it actually would not be ready.I don't like giving people bad reviews but in this case you've earned it. I would not recommend anyone take their truck to you to get fixed until you turn around your ways. You cost me money simply because of inconsideration. I'm not going to sue you for the $900 but I sure feel like it. It's real money out of my pocket because you decided not to be considerate enough to take care of someone who put their trust in you and your word. You violated that trust and I think that people should know about that.

Had a transmission rebuilt about a year ago on a GMC 1500 Sierra pickup. Gary was very straight-forward and quoted a pretty fair price based upon the research I'd done before I came in for an estimate. He made the same service/upgrade recommendations almost to the letter that I'd read online in various GMC/Chevy truck forums and nothing more. Was a refreshing change from the typical over-selling that is rampant in the business. To my surprise, he was able to finish the job in a day and its been perfect ever since. Thanks Gary!

Gary, the owner, is a straight shooter. He has rebuilt two transmissions for me. One was an old Ford Bronco and the other was a BMW 550i. His prices are fair and he does quality work. I would recommend Roswell Transmission to my friends.

I live in Gwinnett, my clutch went out in Roswell, and couldn't afford to tow it back to my side of town.I called my mechanic uncle in Alabama & he told me how much it should cost if I could find an honest mechanic.I googled "transmission service" and they were the first company listed.Gary asked what my car had been doing and without knowing my geographical and financial clusterf***, quoted me about $50 less than what my uncle told me to expect up here.It only took about a day and they basically had to take my car apart and put it back together.I will recommend the shop to anyone that needs transmission work.

Gary at Roswell Transmission will go out of his way to ensure you are happy with his work/repairs and that the job is done right! We had a transmission rebuilt in and Acura MDX. There were additional unforeseen issues that came up after the rebuild and Roswell Transmission/Gary did not hesitate to pull the transmission again, identify the unforeseen additional issue, and resolve it to our complete satisfaction. We are very satisfied with the shop, the owner and the completed job. We highly recommend them for any service/rebuild work you may need on your transmission. They will be honest and fair from start to finish.

Beware. Car seemed un-repaired. Poor customer service. When I pulled up, the car was still leaking, hood was up and I had to bicker with one of the mechanics to be able to see the work that was done before I paid. They overcharged for parts ordered (can easily find locally or online for almost 50% less), made repairs that I did not request, and did not return phone calls when I was merely asking the amount to pay. When I was first diagnosed, I was asked if I would want to replace my thermostat (the current one was still functional). I said that I did not have the money to replace it at this time, so please do not install it. When I got the bill, I saw where they charged me for the thermostat, but not the labor. Somehow, I got a $50 discount, but I don't know why...this service was terrible. As I was leaving, I had two mechanics still looking at my car with the hood open as if they weren't even finished with the job. This took ELEVEN days to complete a job to only replace a radiator.Would I recommend Roswell Transmission? Absolutely not. Also, they charged $28.95 for one gallon of antifreeze. Seriously? I hope this is the best that money can get. If it is, you might want to suggest a more economical item to your customers. This was awfully expensive and painful.Never go to Roswell Transmission.

Needed transmission work done on our box truck. Gary and his team worked diligently to get the truck back on the road as quickly as possible and for a price under what was originally quoted. I HIGHLY recommend this company for their honest work!

After two years of wonder why my transmission did not sound right. I figured out that $2400 to rebuild a transmission didn't include replacing pump, which is the most important part for a transmissions live. I am personally very disappointed that it was not replaced. It cost me $150 for a pump. I guess I should have told them how to do there jobs so that it would be done right. Other than that great job.

Roswell Transmission and Car Care rebuilt the transmission in our 2003 Hyundai Elantra a month ago (July 2016). The owner, Gary, was very friendly and personable. He was able to explain technical information at a level I could understand. Gary quoted me a reasonable price and his mechanics did excellent work. The Elantra is driving great and we are very happy that we chose this establishment. I will continue to take my vehicles to Roswell Transmission and Care Care. From: Jeff and Angela Poppert ...... update April 2017 not really sure how to update posts on google. 9 months later the elantra is still running great. I highly recommend gary' s team for Transmission work. Update June 2018, Elantra is still running Great! This week I took my Dodge Intrepid in because it had a stuck CV Axle. I had tried removing it with a puller, but it was not coming out. I put the old axle back in and took it to Roswell Transmission. They were able to torch the old axle off and install a new axle. As with my previous experience, the service was honest and friendly, the pricing was reasonable, and the work was excellent. Thank you Gary!

I called this shop to find out the cost of an AC repair and spoke with someone who was very nice. The shop is in my neighborhood so I went by to schedule an appointment. The Man Behind the Counter, whether the employer himself or an employee, did not even acknowledge me. He was in conversation with a customer on something that had nothing to do with cars. I was embarrassed waiting so long just to be acknowledged. I decided to leave and walked out the door. No attempt was made to say to me "Oh, I'm sorry, how can I help you?" I don't know what I did to be treated that way. I will not go there again.I am not one to write reviews but I've never been treated as if I was invisible, not even being acknowledged, never mind asking me what my car issue was.

Took my vehicle here years ago, they overcharged me and took 2 weeks to repair. My car caught fire on the way home on 400 due to them leaving the cap off the transmission fluid, then they didn t want to take responsibility for it. Unethical people who took advantage.
