The guys here at Gears Transmission have been great with me! I had taken my car to 3-4 different mechanics before I found these guys, and Stephen and John really made sure that I was taken care of. They communicated things with me throughout the whole process. They are excellent at customer service. Stephen answered all of my questions and was very patient with me. My experience there was excellent! They had me in and out in no time. So glad I found a place that will be honest with me. I really believe you can trust them.

The people at Gears do great work and everyone is friendly. With that being said I dropped my vehicle off the first or second week of January. I was called and told what was wrong with it and was told if I paid half that day or the very next day it would be done by the following week so I did. I didn t hear anything the following week so I called and was told they are running a little behind and it will be done the following week. Once again I didn t hear anything so I called the following week. Same story. That proceeded to be the same story for the next 3-4 weeks. Finally I told them I have to have a better ETA and wanted to know what all was left to be done. So then I get a call back that same day and was told a part was on back order till the beginning of April. In my head that tells me every week I was calling and was being told it would be done the following week that the guy was not actually checking in on that and was just telling me that. End of March rolls around and I decided to call just to check in and see if we are still on track for that part being in. When I called I ended up speaking to a different guy than normal and he told me that part is actually coming in that day or the next and they would have my vehicle done the following week, that I was the top priority since my vehicle had been there for so long. The following week I hear nothing so I call at the end of that week and was told Finally got the part in man. I can promise you it will be done next week by Thursday or Friday. I promise you. You have my word on it. Here it is the following week on Thursday so I decide to call just to see if it will be done today or if it s going to be done tomorrow. Hard to believe but I am once again told it will be done the following week and I am promised once again that it will be done by then. Trust as far as a timeline stand point goes no longer exists. These guys are super nice and do great work but if you are needing your vehicle back in a timely manner I would take caution on taking it here. Mine has been there for three months now. Hopefully come next week I will actually be able to pick up my vehicle. We will see! Last year I took my vehicle to them to have the transmission rebuilt and they did a great job and did it in the time they said they would.

I found myself just off the highway with vehicle broken down coupled with pulling our RV. It was early evening and I had no idea where the heck I was because I am from AR. After no answers and voice machines, I got a live voice. Stephen went to work. He found a tow company to tow both the vehicle and RV to his place of business. He also gave us permission to sleep in our RV for the night at his place. First thing in morning he diagnosed the problem and got the parts there ASAP. He had us back on the road by 10AM. Outstanding. Outstanding. Outstanding.

Took my 2015 Ford F350 To gears for a new transmission and could not be happier. The entire process was flawless, and now my truck shifts smoother than ever and you can t beat their warranty.

I cannot recommend this place enough! My entire transmission went out in my car while traveling out of town. The guys here not only went and picked my car up from the dealership it had been towed to but also went out of their way to get the repairs done quickly so I could get back on the road and all for a fraction of what the dealership was going to charge. I could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I don't write reviews often, but I felt I must after visiting Gears Transmission. These folks are fantastic! I had new wheels and tires along with a lift installed on my 2008 4Runner. The truck looks great and the service was 100% incredible, not to mention they beat every quote I had! When my truck was done, it was nice and clean and to add they even tinted my windows! I been driving my 2002 ford ranger (STANTHEMAN) which gears transmission would know it as. The transmission overhaul they installed has done great for the truck the last two weeks that I drove it. They also did a tune-up and a couple other things to help the performance of the old ford ranger. The shifter on the column had a lot of slop in it so they replaced steering column which has been great also. I usually don t drive this truck everyday but just wanted to make sure it was good for my grandma. I can say without a doubt the truck has been great after all their work on it! Traveling from MS for work, my car overheated. The folks at Gears were over the top kind, made me feel important, and my situation mattered to them. They immediately diagnosed the issue, ordered parts, and had me back on the road faster than they had quoted me. No doubt the place to go in the Chattanooga area for your car needs! This is one of the best. I have had my jeep grand Cherokee in the shop twice. The first time they did my transmission and I have had a great experience with them. They go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. This is the best shop I have used for my jeep. Yes it's a little pricey but everything is going up. Steven is the one I call if I have any questions or problems. This will be the only place I will use from now on to fix the jeep. Thanks guys for all the hard work and keeping me on the road. May God continue to bless this shop and the people that work there.

The folks there squeezed me in while on a road trip and got me on the road again in a very timely fashion doing a complete rebuild ! Unfortunately a new part failed about 8 months later and I needed a repair in St Petersburg and Gears honored thier warranty in a very professional and courteous manner ! I highly recommend them ! Gears was excellent service! I saw great reviews on Jeep/ Dodge cars and decided to give it a shot! When I gave them a call they were very caring and knowledgeable about my car. My Jeep Cherokee Limited is riding like new again! I went in thinking I needed a transmission flush, but I ended up needing my engine mounts replaced. It took a few days, but the wait was worth it.So far so good! The guys there are super friendly and attentive as well!

I called gears and explained to them the main problem I was having when you accelerate in my truck it makes a ringing noise and lags switching gears and they said sounds like it s the transfer case then they said they would reseal my transfer case for free yet they charged me $351.00 for something they said they would do for free . Now they have blocked me on facebook and from calling them personally and they said it would only be a couple of weeks yet I was out of a vehicle for a month while I have a disabled wife who has dr appointments every week I explained this to them and they made all kinds of excuses and then when I get there to pick up my truck they say they have had to jump my battery off in my truck every time they had to crank it yet I spent two hours yesterday with the radio going and it crunk up fine doesn t take common sense to figure out I m very disappointed and I m going to seek legal action against them for services not rendered and I strongly recommend not using this company because they lie and manipulate and tried to tell me that I didn t tell them it was making that noise when my wife was sitting next to me while I was on the phone and explaining it to them and that s the whole reason I called them because it sounds like the transmission and it s under warranty until December also under their warranty they say they will provide a rental car to u while they are working on ur vehicle this is also a lie and they are supposed to cover the tow bill under warranty and I had to pay that as well so please please I strongly advise you to use a different company . I would hate to see them take advantage of any one else it s wrong and we already struggling in this economy to have this place make it worse on peopleService: Transmission

Had my tuned up 2007 2500 6.7 diesel Dodge get a stage 1 build here. Great communication, answered phone every time I called. About 1k miles in and it shifts better and feels solid. Will update if that changes, but at this point recommend these guys, especially if you have a tuned up truck!

Gears is the only transmission shop I will use or recommend.My husband was pulling into the driveway one night and his truck was making lots of noise and throwing transmission codes.He called Gears and they took his truck the very next morning. They had it diagnosed and repaired a day later and we could not be more thankful for their professionalism and costumer service.Thank you Gears!

Hands down the best transmission shop around! They go above and beyond to ensure the transmissions they build are the toughest yet smoothest around. So much so that they offer a 100K mile nation-wide warranty on all builds!! VERY few shops can do that.... That tells you all you need to know. Simply tell them what you need your vehicle to do and they will design the perfect build for you. Even their "stock" builds include items that other shops would charge extra for. My truck pulls like a dozer and is smooth as silk while doing it! Don't go anywhere else!Service: Transmission

I can not say enough about this wonderful company. My son s Cadillac needed a transmission! It was BAD! Gears took such good care of us and got him back on the road. Been here 2 separate times wit 2 separate vehicles. It is whatnit is price wise. The work is pretty decent. The second time here was to long for me.. I know it's a business and other cars need repairs also. Overall I'll do business with them again i believe

They helped get this bad boy back on the road after I turned the 4L60E into slush around 215K miles. They rebuilt it completely and didn't just crate swap it. Just ask when you need to bring it in for serving to keep the 3 year warranty up.

Gears has rebuilt the trans in my green 4x4 and replaced the trans and internals of the trans in my 2007 BMW. Wouldn't go anywhere else, guys have more knowledge than other trans shops in the area and will take care of you. A+++

Just got my transmission for my Trailblazer SS rebuilt. I wasn t sure who around town worked with Car Shield but to my surprise, Gears did! Not only did Jon handle everything with them, he also kept me informed of what was going on along the way. My SS has never ran better! Thanks Gears!
