Grant recently installed a harness bar, restraints, seat, coilovers, and an aluminum oil pan. His attention to detail and commitment to customer service is unlike any shop I have ever been too. Don t waste your money somewhere else, just go to Southside Auto works, you won t regret it.

I can't recommend Grant enough!! He is one of only a couple of people I trust to work on my VWs. His knowledge of VWs and Audis is second to none. I have been very involved with the Atlanta VW community for several years now, and I have not once heard of a negative experience from any of the hundreds of fellow enthusiasts I know. It is exceedingly difficult to find a mechanic that is trustworthy, highly skilled, passionate about their work, fairly priced, and has your best interests in mind. Grant exemplifies all of these qualities, which is why (despite living an hour away), I will continue to trust him with my cars!

My first experience with Southside Autowerks was a couple weeks ago and I can't say enough of how impressed I was. As long as I own a VW I will be going to Southside anytime I need maintenance on my vehicle. Shout out to Grant who was super friendly, fast and obviously very knowledgeable! Thanks for a great job!

I live in Stone Mountain GA, and these guys are good are more than a one hour and a half drive away from me. Why would I drive so far for a Mechanic and how did I find Southside Autowerks to begin with?I drive an 2015 Audi S3 and its been my very first sports sedan and have holds a lot of sentimental value to me. It has an APR stage 2 tune on it and I have lots of planned modifications I want to make in the future. It was important for me to find a mechanic who is familiar with APR tunes and familiar with working on the MQB platforms and EA888 engines, so I searched online for one and found Southside Autowerks from there. Knowing that they had a tech who have worked for APR directly was appealing to me.It also feels like they just have the best prices. My prior mechanic is good, but his prices are always high even though they claim to save you money by performing quick and efficient work that reduces cost in labor. This was another APR certified shop where I got my APR tune to begin with. The service prices eventually chased me away from them to another mechanic shop I liked that works on a lot of custom supercars. Though I like him, he charged very low prices, but the final price always ended up being higher when the job is done. I don't recall a time where the price stayed what he quoted as there were always some kind of complication that extended the labor time which drove up the prices.This brings me to Southside Autowerks. I had two big jobs on weighing on my mind to complete but didn't know if I actually needed them, well one of them at least. The intake carbon clean-up and the timing chain service as my car was nearly 112K miles at the time. My first mechanic charged me an arm and a leg for the carbon cleanup because he bundles it with replacing the water pump. My second mechanic quoted half the price, but I already knew it was going to be higher than what he quoted and that would be without the water pump replacement. Southside Autowerks undercut the quoted price of my second mechanic by $100 and the best thing is, that is what I paid when the job was done. Not only did Grant, the owner do the job himself, but he allowed me to see the state of the intake manifold before and after the job completed. The intake valves were so caked up with carbon, it was unrecognizable. He went over the procedure he would be undertaking, and it was very meticulous. He was very knowledgeable and seemed to be very motivated about his work. He restored the shine and luster of the intake valves. As for my timing chain, my other two mechanics quoted me a extremely high price that I knew I needed time to prepare and save for. Grant didn't give me a quote at that time but told me that I have time, the mileage didn't determine when the timing chain was service was due and it was something that is relatively easy to check for during an oil change.I was so happy about honest and courteous service I received that I paid arm and a leg to get my car towed to their shop when I had a bad oil leak that dumped all my engine oil out of my engine on the way to work. I normally due my own oil changes and botched it this time when the oil filter O ring seal got cut when tightening the oil filter housing. Luckily for me I used Ceratec additive to my oil that protected the vital components during that critical time. Grant and Patrick were able to identify the problem quickly and fixed and replenished my oil cheaply. Since It was an unplanned trip to their shop, I thought it would be held overnight but Patrick called me back and told me my car was ready for pick-up about 40 minutes later when I was getting a ride home.Their low prices were no fluke when I went back to them for my transmission and Haldex service. They undercut my previous mechanic by a large amount as I was price shopping. At that point I've made up my mind to make Southside Autowerks my main mechanics. I will always give them my business first as I trust them and they do a fine job.

I used to live in Newnan but moved back into ATL. I still return to Grant and only let him work on my VW jetta. I would rather drive over an hour to make sure my car is serviced by a knowledgeable and reliable mechanic. I can't recommend this shop for your VW or Audi work.I also often will work remote in the waiting room with the wifi and they have snacks and drinks available while you wait.

I had a great time at my appointment! Grant is an awesome mechanic. I purchased my Audi A5 3 years ago and have been getting it serviced at a Volkswagen dealership in Columbus. I started having check engine light problems and I took to back to Volkswagen. I watched them look at my car for 10 mins and then drop it and I waited another hour afterwards. Only for the mechanic to tell the service advisor that I had a bad turbo. The estimated price was about $2000, me losing all hope I was about to try to trade in my car for a new one and someone referred Grant to me. So, I decided to get a second opinion. Grant was on it right away he diagnosed the problem and set me up an appointment to fix it. I had an intake leak and my car was consuming a lot of oil. He not only realized that I had the wrong pcv vavle for my car which was manufactured in china but he also found that I had a hose that was not properly secured! That the mechanic from Volkswagen completely missed, now I am also getting a refund back from Volkswagen and Grant also gave me a fantastic price. I couldn t be more thankful especially with Christmas coming soon. I would definitely recommend anyone with an Audi/Volkswagen to check out Grant s shop!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Grant at Southside Autowerks does top-notch work at a reasonable price! Based on numerous recommendations from the Four Rings ATL Facebook group, I made an appointment with Southside Autowerks to get H&R Sport lowering springs installed on my 2013 Audi RS5. When I arrived, Grant came out and welcomed me, immediately started examining my car to see if there would be any rubbing issues (which I voiced as a concern when making the appointment), and walked me through what he was seeing. Both he and the receptionist were very friendly and the waiting room was nice and air-conditioned with a TV and free drinks. The job took about 3 hours (which is what they told me it would take) and the end result is exactly what I wanted. You can tell that Grant is a first-class mechanic with great attention to detail. I highly recommend Southside Autowerks for any Audi RS owners looking to get some suspension work done.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

Best prices in town, owner is very knowledgeable. He is very detailed and he explained the whole process from beginning to end. My car had the famous cold start issue that happens to the vw 2.0 turbo, because of the carbon build up. He let me take pictures of the issue of my car. The dealer wanted $900 to fix the car. He actually Walnut blasted the carbon off my valves The dealer would only use a chemical which would not give the same result. No more check engine light (because of misfires). He even topped off my fluids as in antifreeze and windshield wiper fluid. It's the small things that make a big difference in customer service. I highly recommend this shop. I plan on using this shop for all my needs for my 2013 Jetta GLI.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Just moved into town from FL.. had the car serviced in FL before our move and they forgot to fix one of the bulbs. Came to Southside they completed the job for FREE ( he only asked for an handshake) and had me out in 5 minutes. Will definitely be back.

Easily the best place to take your VW, AUDI, or Porsche in the Metro Atlanta area! Super helpful, very timely, always goes the extra mile to make sure it's done 100% correct, not just good enough. He is the only person I trust to work on my VW. You will not regret having him work on your VW, AUDI, or Porsche! Pictures are of the head in my shop, his shop is immaculate!

I have a 2007 Audi A3 that I've put extensive time and money in maintaining. The dealership advised that they no longer serviced vehicles of that age, but thankfully a service representative referred me to Southside Autowerks.The folks at Southside are so friendly, and Grant, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable. You show up for your appointment and Grant gets you in and out.Also, their rates are fair and very reasonable!I am 1000 percent pleased, and they have a new customer for life!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Grant was awesome and really knows his stuff. He also fixed a problem I had and only charged me for parts. I'm setting about 5 or 6 inches off the ground now. He hooked me up with some eibach lowering springs.

I have had several jobs done by Grant at Southside Autowerks. He is the most knowledgeable VW tech in the Atlanta area and does excellent work. He has always been on time and professional. Grant is phenomenal! He helped fix an oil leak on my Volkswagen Atlas, he was quick, he explained what happened & how he fixed it. He was honest about what was needed or what I did not need. Grant knows his stuff. Will not trust anyone else with my new Atlas. Takes the extra minute to do it right.Impressed by Grant's knowledge and organization. Everything is tidy and orderly. The best part, he uses his torque wrench and knows off the top of his head the torque spec for everything including drain plug and oil filter. Also uses only approved products not just what comes out of the tank. On my 19 Atlas only the VW oil is authorized, so that's what he uses.

If you own a Volkswagen it needs to be serviced here. Grant is great, he explains things well to customers. I was referred by a mutual friend to Southside Autowerks, who insisted they were the best .... he was not wrong! I went in to have my 2015 A4 55k inspection. I was met by both Grant and Jamie upon my arrival. Both were very friendly and professional. Office is clean and inviting. Grant spoke with me numerous times during the inspection to ensure I was aware of what I would be needing in coming months (tire tread status, brake pad condition, brake fluid water %). I was very pleased with my experience and would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone! Worth the hour drive 100%!Service: Vehicle Inspection

As a VW owner, you need to find a good independent shop that specializes in the brandz especially when out of warranty.Fortunately there are a few really good shops in GA. Ill likely give a similar review to 1 other shop.This shop is one of the best in the Southeast and easily worth the 40 miles I have to drive to visit.Grant is called "the wizard" and it's well deserved. His rates are fair when you consider he is a guru level master tech.Highly recommend bringing your VW/Audi here.

This is not a review that I am writing lightly, and I believe a huge recognition is in order for Grant at Southside Autowerks for doing an OUTSTANDING job working on my 2016 Audi S4. I had a long laundry list of maintenance done to my car, plus had a few aftermarket upgrades installed. If you ever find yourself looking for a great shop to use and a mechanic that thoroughly knows their stuff about VW/Audi, Southside Autowerks is certainly the place you should take your vehicle. I am thoroughly pleased with how my car was taken care of, how well it is now performing, and how valued I feel as a customer. It's absolutely safe to say that I have a new favorite/home shop that I will always be using from this point forward.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I love Southside Autowerkz, they are the best shop in the metro atlanta area. Grant is a wizard when it comes to Audi/VW and he is an honest mechanic. I have been communicating with Grant over the past few weeks about bring my car in for a few upgrades, he has been so great in answering my questions and being responsive and polite. I haven t taken my car into the shop yet for the work but he has already earned my business! I can tell that my vehicle will be in the best hands and I m so glad to have found Southside Autowerks!! Grant did an amazing job on my Audi everything is perfect with it! Best part is after all the work was done you can t even tell it was touched! Not a single fingerprint on the entire car.
