Excellent diagnostics and repairs. Rick has taken care of my boats for years from motor to outdrive to trailer. I have never had any issues with their work. Highly recommend for all of your boating needs!

Rick, his son, and his dad are good folks. I m a tournament angler and have owned everything from OMC to several Mercs. They seem to always have the part I need, which is great because I can t stand being off the water and normally need it NOW. Nice to talk shop with them!

Rick and his team are very helpful. They were willing to stay after hours one time to help with an emergency due to my throttle lever in the engine. I had a 2 day tournament and he fixed me up. He also doesn't sale you what you don't need and saved me money but not doing so, being honest about not needing the more expensive products. Rick has a new customer in me.Services: General installation, Water pump service, Engine repair, Battery inspection/service, Boat trailer service

They charged me 70 dollars for a carb rebuild kit that cost 9 dollars online. I understand making a profit but not all off one customer. They are good at what they do but need to be a little more gentle with the markupsService: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Rick and Nick were great on diagnosing and fixing my engine problem quickly once they got to my boat.Great to work with and communicated the issue and resolution so that should it happen again, I would know what to do.Haven't had to use a marine repair before this, but now that I have, I know where I'll be taking my boat for services and repair from now on.I appreciate the good customer service. The lengthy wait was worth the service.Service: Engine repair

took my boat there to fix a leak and and check electrical connections to make sure everything is right, they tell me 3 days it takes 3 weeks, after 2 weeks i have to start hounding them, half the time they dont know where my boat even is on the lot and they lose my work order so dont know what theyre supposed to be doing to it, they don't find my leak but say the fix the electrical connections, take it to another shop they find the leak in 15 minutes and charges me less to actually fix the leak, then I take the family to the lake Sunday and my boat didn't charge because an electrical connection came completely loose from the battery. After this I had enough and call them nicely explaining the sitatuation asking for a refund of my 125.00 since nothing was fixed, I am met with I'm not getting my f'n refund and being cussed out. I run a repair business myself so understand the frustrations that can come with it but this customer service is unacceptable and what could have been just a simple refund and turn the other way turned into this. Eventually after threatening to contact the BBB, I was offered 80 dollars and not wanting to argue further took it, well I get there to get my refund this morning and they immediately say 65 and I'm a liar. After multiple chances and I hate being the one to slander any company especially local but this is unacceptable and I plan to make it known.

Would not recommend this place. Had my boat there for six weeks for them to troubleshoot every week I would call them at least one or two times to check up and every time they told me they would get to it by the end of the week. Finally after six weeks they called me and told me their diagnostic machine was not working so they couldn t do anything because they couldn t figure out what was wrong. Took it to another place and had a diagnosis within three days and they didn t even hook it up to a machine to figure out what was wrong. I am a reasonable person and understanding but truly felt like it was very subpar business.Service: Engine repair

I contacted the guys at Sewell Marine on a Thursday about some gel-coat repair on my Ranger. Talked to Rick over the phone and was assured that they could help me with my situation. I made him aware that I was about an hour and a half away and that I would be there the next day. Upon arrival I was put off onto a very young teenager to look at what was needed. Eventually Rick did come to look at what was needed. I was then informed they were not able to do what I really needed, he said they did not do gel-coat repair, but they could do a "block sand and buff out." I was looking for something better than that. I asked Rick for a written estimate and he made one out, but he charged me $20.00 for the estimate. All total they spent 10 to 15 minutes with me. I have NEVER had to pay for an estimate in my life, as well as charging one myself as I have been in the automotive repair and around body shops all my life. This was truly a waste of my time and effort and was charged $20.00 also. I found a place in east Alabama that is a professional shop that will be helping me with my problem.

I had Sewell Marine do an engine service and troubleshoot of a miss in the engine in my inboard ski boat. They finished the work, fixed a couple of other small problems they found, and did it all in a week. The price was perfectly fair and they couldn't have been nicer. The other reviewers complaining about "the old man" are absolutely wrong. He is as nice and accommodating as any business owner I have ever dealt with. I will definitely use them again.

Let me start by saying this is the firat time I have used these guys. I took my 96 Javelin with a 175 Evinrude Intruder to them for some fuel issues. They figured out what it was and fixed the issue. They also fixed a chip on my gelcoat. What stood out to me is they didn't throw a bunch of parts at it. They actually looked for the problem and repair it. Will definitely be my boat mechanic from now on. I will be recommending as well!

Ricky Sewell and his dad Mr. Sewell are great friendly people who will help you with all your boating needs. They have years of experience. I just finished rebuilding my boat motor and they help me with all the parts and advise with what I needed. Help me determine the cause of the motor failure. Keith is their mechanic that really help me a lot during the process of rebuilding my motor. Just an all around experience.

Honest pricing. They take a while as they are always backed up, but they will work to get your boat fixed, even if it takes a while.

Sewell Marine had in stock linkage parts for my 1973 Evinrude 70 horsepower o/b. These guys never let me down when it comes to Johnson and Evinrude no matter what the engine year is. Good job guys thanks again!

I have been dealing with Sewell Marine for many years now and I have always been treated with great respect and friendship. I have had my boat serviced and yes there are times it has taken a little longer than expected, however that is only because while working on it they found a few things that needed to be addressed. I received a call and made the decision to repair those items as well. Were they legitimate concerns, yes, am I glad they were repaired, yes.Sewell Marine is a small town marina that has lasted through the years by strong relationships, good service, and a willingness to help out their fellow boaters.

This is most unprofessional shop I have ever been to. They don't give you a time frame of service tell you they will call when ready. Then they lost my key for my ignition and won't replace switch. They say I didn't leave one but I know I did how else would they crank the motor. the old man that runs the shop is rude and disrespectful and won't give any info on motor. Please if you read this review do not go there or recommend anyone thanks.Unhappy customer

Couldn't be more pleased. Brought my 25 yr old Suzuki in and left with it running as well as it did when new and at a price I felt was very reasonable.. Keith spent alot of time with me before I left helping with another problem I forgot to mention at no charge. I would recommend heavily..

I should have listened to the reviews and my gut feeling upon calling Sewell Marine, but I took my boat there anyways. Absolutely terrible experience...took two weeks beyond promise date and they didn't even fix what was asked of them. Total incompetence and completely disorganized.

Not true at all. All engine needed was a new fuel line and primer bulb. Cost me a total of $150. Sewell lied and took advantage of me.
