Date of Service: Wednesday, 12/13/23(Longer More Detailed Review Can Be Found on Yelp)I took my car into AAMCO because the transmission was slipping. This shop was less expensive than others I had called. Most that I asked if any of the diagnostic fee would go towards the repair, said, No, that would not include the cost of the repair. That was a hard pass for me! I started thinking, What happened to the days when a diagnostic fee would count towards the cost of repair if a new customer is having the work done at your shop? Finally, I contacted this AAMCO. From the moment I contacted them, they were very communicative. Not only was the diagnostic fee significantly less than any of the other places I had called, but Greg, the owner, also advised me the diagnostic fee would be applied to the cost of repair (basically waiving the diagnostic fee) and the diagnosis was promised in up to 24 hours rather 2 days like the other places! NOW, THAT S WHAT I M TALKING ABOUT!!I was emailed and communicated with consistently by Greg McBride, the owner regarding anything status-related.I received a quote via email. The price was less than I expected to have to pay to replace my transmission. I was greeted very politely and professionally by Doug Sharpton, who is equally as kind and helpful when you meet him in the office at the shop s front desk. (Greg s wife, Gigi and her cute little dog were there too!) They all made me comfortable enough to believe they cared about my car and are in the business of prompt and professional repair, rather than being there to take advantage of someone.Greg and Doug each always seemed very concerned and caring even about my only having the one car and knowing how crucial it was that I have the car back as soon as possible. (He often referred to my car as your baby which implied he cared for a person s vehicle as much as they do.) I contacted them on December 11th. I was nervous that I wouldn t have my car for the Christmas holiday, but I was praying for the best.I dropped the car off on Wednesday, 12/13 and they ordered the part (a used transmission), which we expected would arrive by the end of the week. They predicted having my car back by the following Tuesday, 12/19 at the latest. On Monday, 12/18, Greg notified me via email that the part was expected to arrive on Friday, 12/15, but didn t get delivered. Gigi called the vendor to attempt to get the part dropped off the same day. Then, there was the issue with the wrong part having arrived. On Tuesday, 12/19, I was becoming more sure I d be without my car for Christmas. I emailed Greg again and he advised me that my transmission was in and with any luck, I should have the car back by Thursday, 12/21. He also mentioned they would be working on Friday, 12/22 for the purpose of getting customers their cars back before they closed for the weekend and for the holiday. (I consider that very considerate!)On Friday, 12/22, I received a call from Doug that my car was ready for pick up and I was so ecstatic that even though it was raining, I took off running to their shop which was about 15 20 minutes from where I live, in the rain! It didn t even matter at that point!I arrived at the shop, got the key and headed out to the car. As soon as I sat down in the seat I noticed a long crack in the windshield. I went back inside to ask Doug how this could happen. He assured me he would speak to Greg and that I should take the car so I would at least have transportation during the holiday. Hesitantly, I agreed. On 12/28, the windshield was ordered and repaired on 1/3/24.Although, this is probably not a typical occurrence for this shop, I am thoroughly pleased with the degree of professionalism, consistency in communication, character and quality of care this shop provided with the entire process. They made it right! The ultimate result is, my transmission works great, my car is running fine, and I have a nicely repaired windshield. I appreciate the integrity of the owner and the courtesy and professionalism of the staff.

Gigi was very knowledgable and helped with going over the maintenance needed to keep my car running! They had a quick turn-around time, and I can already feel the car running more smoothly. The mechanics called and updated me on the progress of my car and did great work.

Brought my son's car in because of some leaking and low fluid. They got right on his car and it was just a transmission plug that had come off. They topped the fluids and replaced the cap. I very much appreciate this. They had rebuilt this transmission before (runs great) but it was around a year ago. Great customer service. Will definitely recommend them and return for my transmission needs in the future.

I had the transmission go on my 2014 Ford Escape and Greg and his team rebuilt it. Job was done quickly with plenty ofcommunication. I have referred several friends with no complaints. Greg has always been available, responsive and knowledgeable when I have reached out to him with questions.

Absolutely garbage. I called a week prior and spoke to Greg about my elco. So I brought it up there. Said the shift cable needed to be replaced. Waited a week and then was told I'd get an estimate for a different transmission, like a 700r4. Never got the estimate, GG says she emailed it last Friday. She either can't read or doesn't care about the information she puts in. The transmission builder was rude as all get out. Zero communication. I work for a shop, we just dont deal with transmission rebuilds.I know how it is, but you run a poor excuse of a business and you hire people with poor attitudes. I will tell every single customer that inquires about a transmission to NEVER go to you. That's about 60-70 people A DAY. If you can't do something, be honest, don't waste people's time. There is no coming back from this. I hope EVERY single person looking at these reviews sees this one and doesn't even bother to talk to y'all. I don't think I've ever had this type of poor service from ANY place of business. Pathetic is what describes this shop.*Edit*After reading your response. I asked you to rebuild the transmission over the phone, you said yes. I told you what car it was and the motor and what I was trying to do. You literally just said you rebuild custom transmissions in your response. Like I said before, be honest about the work you can do so you don't waste people's times. Apparently I'm not the only one this has happened to. Your excuses are poor just like the work.

Super pleased with AAMCO of Newnan! Took our 2008 Infiniti QX56 in that was making noises after another mechanic said it needed new suspension and new transmission. Since the car is a little older, we weren t interested in investing thousands of dollars into it. Gigi and guys at AAMCO said the car is completely safe to drive, transmission is fine and sent us on our way with peace of mind it was only a loose heat shield and no charge for the time they spent on it. When everyone seems to be looking for ways to extract money, this was such a pleasant surprise! It is fantastic to find an honest mechanic!! We highly recommend them!!

They tried to scam me into paying $5000 for a transmission rebuild that I did not need! And they basically stole $175 from me. By charging me $300 instead of the 125 diagnostic fee. Crooks!

Doug was awesome, polite, friendly and professional. The lady told me to hush when I tried to tell her it wasn't over heating anymore because I fixed my failing thermostat on my 6L80. The Transmission Tech seemed irritated. I declined the diagnostic, got my keys and took my truck back home. They said they don't do a transmission flush/exchange, but their website says that they do. I'll just change my pan fluid myself again and again until the fluid is clean again and then change the filter on the last change:Copy/Paste from the website.Power Purge and Maintenance ServicesAt AAMCO Newnan, GA, our Power Purge and Power Purge Plus Transmission Flush (Fluid Exchange) services are far and away the most complete transmission maintenance services you can provide for your vehicle. These services will essentially replace all of your broken down and timeworn transmission fluid with new, clean fluid to help your transmission perform better and longer. In addition to draining the fluids, the expert techs at AAMCO Newnan, GA will check and exchange essentially all of the aged fluid from the transmission system with our leading-edge and patented Power Purge equipment.AAMCO Newnan, GA's Power Purge Service includes: A Transmission Vehicle Courtesy Check for your transmission and associated systems. Brought my car in for transmission work and later had to bring it back because it was making a lot of noise. Turns out a bracket was loose from the work that they did. That's fine since they fixed it without a hassle. What I don't like is how they stressed to me my brakes needed to be changed. They made it seem as if it was dangerous for me to go any further. They knew I was unable to check on it myself because I'm disabled and in a wheelchair. They claimed "it's metal on metal" as if there were no pads left. Even the looks on their faces made it seem really concerning. I took car to a trusted shop to have the brakes replaced and was told they were perfectly fine. I advised the second shop what I was told about the brakes and they even went back to double check. Again, the trusted shop told me their was nothing wrong. So, be careful with what you allow them to do. They will lie and finesse you out of your money in a heartbeat.

In no time I felt completely at home and knew I was not only working with knowledgable mechanics I was treated like a lady and a valued client. The engine light went on in my Mini and I wanted to be sure that continuing to drive would not damage the engine. Aron and his staff were outstanding.

Extremely unprofessional and shady at its best. My son took his truck to get his transmission fixed. Paid 6500.00 and he started having trouble with and the truck is rarely driven. He took it back today and manger sitting in her car smoking and wouldn t come in. He was telling the worker the problem, the manager came in and interrupted and said she was the person in charge I needed to be talking to her. (Didn t understand where that came from) and said my warranty is only good there no where else. I verified through corporate differently, all new employees in three months . How she speaks to customers is a good indication they don t need the business. Take you vehicle elsewhere consumer beware . Reporting BBB and consumer affairs of Ga.Service: Transmission

I've been needing to write this review a few months ago. Unfortunately the service here was awful, here's my experience that I hope no one ever has to go through. The repairs that was required was for my transmission to be fixed. I was fine with that but here's the issues that came with their business.1. Timing- constantly telling us false dates that our car would be ready for pick up (ongoing within a month)2. Lying- car starts rattling after being received by them for "transmission repair", told us it was one issue that was completely irrelevant to what was confirmed to be the actual problem, which I confrmed with my own diagnostic from a dealership company.3. Disrespect/disgusting- leaving oily used condom in car!4. Transmission tears up again. It's not even worth tangling yourself up with them. Just please read reviews and be cautious of who you trust. I'm terribly hurt and disappointed by this experience because of the respect, patience, sacrifices that we gave just to be treated like trash.NO ONE DESERVES THIS TYPE OF TREATMENTService: Transmission

Customers beware of this shop.I was on vacation when my truck broke. I had it towed the AAMCO Newman location hopeful for a proper repair. The cause of the damage was misdiagnosed and the breakdown re-occurred within 15 days. When I spoke with Aaron he became irritable and told me he was NOT going to honor the repair and refused to admit the mistake. Aside from this when I picked up my vehicle from the shop there was grease/oil on my seats, steering wheel, and dash, as well as, mold in my carpet and on my floor mats. This repair also took nearly 8 wks and many deadlines were given to me were completely missed. Again BEWARE of this shopService: Transmission

Unfortunately, I have to leave a poor review. We brought our car in for a used transmission replacement. While there were some issues that came up causing the replacement to take much longer than expected, the service and communication at this shop is terrible. We had to call them to find out our vehicle was "ready" as they didn't keep us posted with the status. However, when we came to pick it up, my fiance sat there for 2 hours to find out our car in fact wasn't ready and that there were further issues with the transmission so they had to keep it. He then had to Uber home. After several weeks with no word, we finally called to check on the status and they told us it was complete. Again, we had to call them to find out our car was ready to go. We told them that we would pick it up the next morning before the shop opened and to leave the key in the car. We got there the next morning to find the car unlocked, no key, steering wheel off centered, and battery dead. Luckily, we had jumper cables or my fiance would've been stuck there again. Later that morning, he called and told them about the issues we had and that we were missing our key in which they said they would mail it to us. A week went by and still no key. AGAIN, my fiance had to call to which they replied the key was being mailed out last Tues. It's now Wednesday of the following week and we still have no key.So, to make this long story short, this complaint has nothing to due with the price of the transmission and what was done by the shop to complete the job. There is no communication from this shop whatsoever and untruthful responses when we have called. We still have not received our key in the mail which I'm starting to believe they just lost because every time we have called asking where it was, they have replied to us that they are putting it in the mail. To the owner, please get an office manager to communicate with customers and make sure the schedule is correct.Service: Transmission

Honest guys, willing to work.I called all around Newnan for someone to look at my Class-C RV, but all the RV guys referred me to auto mechanics, and all the auto mechanics referred me to RV guys. Found AAMCO, called them, and they said it shouldn't be a problem, but they would need to look at it to make sure it would fit on the lift. Took it by, and without ever actually needing the lift, they took a quick look and could see that I didn't really have any issues where my concern was. They asked if there was anything else they could do, offered advice on a couple more tiny quirks of old RVs, and sent me happily on my way. They didn't tell me I needed a bunch of extra work, and they didn't charge me hundreds of dollars for a consultation. If I ever do need some work done on the RV, I'll go here for sure.

I just had my clutch replaced here today and had a great experience. Aaron helped me out with financing options, to make sure we could get it done as soon as possible. The clutch was fully replaced and ready for pick up in less than 24 hours. I will definitely be going back if I have any more car problems.

Look.. Go here for your transmission issues. Aaron was very patient with me. Most importantly, he was HONEST and the job was done RIGHT..Price may be more but you get what you pay for. Hope to do a followup review after a few months, but as of now, I WILL be returning for any transmission needs I have for any of my cars. Great job, great staff.

I ve used several aamcos and by far had best experience with this one.Aron was the service advisor and did great on working the best deal possible. I had a 2012 f450 and the transmission was shot. Gave me a great turn around of less than a week and beat other shops by a pretty good bit. I will definitely start making the extra drive to them for my needsService: Transmission

Greg this is not a issue with the warranty company. The warranty company directed me to your shop so I read your reviews and went there Wednesday morning and drop the vehicle off for a battery. Two days later the vehicle has not moved from where I parked it when I brought it in. Your guys have not even bother to pull in my vehicle to test or diagnose the battery issue at all. I spoke with the warranty company they said they were waiting to hear from the repair shop (your shop) to approve repairs, that they would approve as soon as they knew what they had to pay and warranty but as of 4:00pm Thursday have not heard a word from your shop. This is not a problem with the warranty company this is a problem with a vehicle sitting at your shop for two day for a battery something that can easily be taken care of in a few hours and that s being generous. There is no excuse for this so please do not try and put blame on someone else or make excuses.Service: Battery

I'm still contemplating suing them for wasting my time and money I should have took heed the first time they did the same thing or at least when I went this time and the guy Rob, Ross...(whatever) was playing with something in his hand tat was not an auto part the, the phone rang and he told the person he was on the other line with whomever they inquired. I believe the mechanic is knowledgeable because of all the work I got done elsewhere, it was primarily what the said it was of mine. They just had my car sitting there for nearly two weeks w/o touching it.. and I use my car for work. Oh! Let me correct that! The phone liar told me that my car was pulling because the oil needed changing (he saw the old oil tag from a year ago and ran with that, when infact, I went to a mom-n-pop shop and got my oil changed 3 time before then.

After paying over $7,300.00 for transmission repair on my E350 Mercedes, I discovered a serious rattle. After having it checked, it was discovered Aamco left parts off my car causing metal brackets to vibrate and rattle. It has been over 2 months since taking my car back, and still no resolution. "The parts are on order" after over 2 months. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed in the service of this location. Definitely do not recommend them for quality service.Service: Transmission

I called this business, because they had really good reviews. There is a reason why they do. My brakes started grinding and I needed to get them worked on ASAP. They fit me in right away. Within 30 minutes they told me the problem and the price. They were reasonable, had quick service and couldn't have been nicer. I highly recommend them!

When the brakes on our Town & Country started squealing I googled and found Newnan AAMCO. They were incredibly friendly, scheduled my free inspection for the very next day, and got me and my 2 year old in and out in a timely fashion. The quote they gave was reasonably priced and since they had such good customer service, I came back the following week to have the repairs done.Sean and the rest of the staff were really great. They remembered me, made a point to come shake my hand and even gave me a discount card for next time! The brake job was excellent and the mechanics were very good. I will definitely be back!

Stop, no, and don't go here!Dropped off my Subaru for transmission issues. Waited most of the week and never heard anything from AAMCO. Finally called and the service advisor said we haven't looked at it yet. A short time later he called back informing me the car needed a transmission. Asked for an estimate which took several more days to get, and of course I had to call and ask for it also. After several more calls throughout the trans replacement one of them finally resulted in me being told it was finished. This was on the 30th of October and the service advisor had asked for payment over the phone saying everything was completed. Guessing they wanted this job on the October books. I informed him we would just pick up the car the following Monday. When I arrived at 0800 my car was not outside and was still in the shop. The service advisor told me they still had to put oil in the trans and then it would be completed. Seemed odd because he had just told me it was ready the Friday before. I waited two hours and finally asked what was going on. ( during this time I got to listen to a younger skinny kid that worked there vomit in the bathroom) The service advisor informed me that the valve body was bad on the used trans and that it would now have to be replaced. Now I had to Uber home at $35.00 because my car wasn't ready. Many weeks went by and each resulted in no phone call, my only updates came from me calling. To make a long story short, over a month for this transmission install. One of my calls finally resulted in the car being finished again, of course I asked if it was ready-ready this time. The service advisor said yes and asked when I was going to pick it up. I asked him if he could leave the keys in the car and lock it as I would be picking it up early the following morning. When I arrived the following morning I found my car unlocked, no keys, and battery dead. ( most likely because it sat in their shop for over a month) I placed a call the following day asking where my key is and the service advisor says he forgot to put it in the car, so I asked if he could mail it to me. He said yes, and a week later still no key. So I call back again and ask about the key, he tells me its in his hand and mailing it now. I still have no 2nd key to my car as of Dec 9th.Yes, as of today the transmission seems to be working. But my steering wheel is off, and no it wasn't that way when it was dropped off. Guessing you had to drop the undercarriage and being told the upper strut mounts could cause this issue. Of course there is no way I would ever bring this car back to this location, so we deal with it.Service: Transmission

Aaron replaced my sons transmission after a back and forth on the price he quoted me originally. That should of been when I walked away. The transmission clicks so loudly we brought back in. While in the parking lot for 2 days he informs me I ll need a tow because my alternator went out! He states him nor tech hears anything. This is when I loose my patience. He then says yes I drove it again and hear the noise and states it s my exhaust. It wasn t! I tell him we will just come on and pick up the car. When my 2 sons drive up he comes out with a woman staying the battery problem looks like it s from the subs. We get it home and battery is running 100%!! be warned! $2500 later we have a ticking transmission and false claims for more work needed. I told him I plan to report to corporate and he states to go ahead they aren t going to do anything. My dad works for them as well in McDonough. Hope they don t do business like this too!

Aron and his Team have personally helped me immensely, provided great Technical knowledge, and have went above and beyond in their efforts to not only maintain their current Quality levels but have also been engaged in ensuring the future Quality of their service thru R&D Trials (customer approved) and continuing education. Having this type of Product Improvement Technical knowledge, where their ability to improve the Quality of their transmissions beyond that of OE, is assurance that your vehicle will stay on the road!During my numerous visits to this location, I have witnessed a few customer interactions where customers were bringing in their vehicles to be serviced for one reason or another. It was welcoming to see this Team go well above and beyond to share their knowledge in detail to a customer explaining the Root Causes of their transmission issues and the inner most workings/mechanics of a transmission. Speaking from previous personal experiences at other Auto Repair Shops; I'm not sure if there is anything worse than walking into a shop with a vehicle issue, uneducated in automotive knowledge, and being at the mercy of a shop that never tells you exactly "why" your vehicle is doing what its doing!!The level of honest Customer Service, Technical Knowledge, and Product Improvement capabilities are just a few of the reasons that I would highly recommend this location for your automobile service needs.

Took my truck to these guys thinking I had a transmission problem. Turned out it was my rear end. Frank found me a good priced used rear end that saved me a lot of money as opposed to rebuilding mine and had it installed in just a few days. Im very happy with their service

Knowing very little of the local transmission shops I selected AAMCO to overhaul my tranny on in F150. From the time I dropped off the truck till the final inspection I was very impressed with the AAMCO Team. They responded immediately to all my questions and concerns with professionalism. One comment I was told when I asked a question was, "Not a problem, we want your complete satisfaction." That they did. I find this Car Care Center top quality in customer service and experts in vehicle mechanics and maintenance. I will and have already referred them to others. Thanks to all of you at the AAMCO Car Care Center! Top quality work!
