I went to these guys yesterday feeling absolutely gutted. The dealership told me that I needed a new transmission in my car that has only 43,000 miles and has been on schedule with every recommended service from the time I bought it when it was brand new. The dealership told me it would be $9000. I truly thought I was going to have a stroke.But my father-in-law said go get the car, take it to AAMCO and let them look at it. Well, I just picked up my car from AAMCO after they told me they didn t see any reason why I would be told this car needs a new transmission. As a matter of fact, they couldn t find anything wrong with it. and because they couldn t find anything wrong with it, they told me that they wouldn t even charge me for the diagnostic. Adam in the service department was so wonderful explaining everything to me and advising me to continue driving the car until whatever the noise was that I heard became more of a consistent thing because they had driven it several times, and could not find something that needed to be fixed. Although I feel like there probably will be some sort of an issue with the car that is going to be addressed at some point, I don t think it s the transmission now and I think I was going to be scammed. But I ll tell you who won t scam you. Aamco in Lawrenceville.Thank you so much for being honest! It s such a rare thing to find these days.

They did a phenomenal work on my vehicle, definitely a shop you can trust. The team there is honest and will be direct with you and help solve any issue with your vehicle. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants work on their vehicles done right!

The service manager is very nice. He gave my husband a ride home as well as picked him up when they were done.He kept us informed and was willing to ask questions. Although they didn't fix our vehicle because we found out it was a recall issue.

I had work performed here and they did a very good job. They diagnosed my problem and repaired it. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the communication could have been better.

Our mothers transmission was going out on her vehicle. We brought it here after looking at all the reviews. I can say the reviews were absolutely correct. From the time we came in until the time we picked up the car the experience was awesome. ADAM IS THE GOAT. I took my car back to Aamco for the second time on Pike Street and they solved the problem the first time. The first time was a transmission problem and the second time was a mechanical problem. These guys are highly trained to resolve any car issues, they're very courteous and knowledgeable, ask for Adam a very nice guy, I highly recommend them.

I have a 2017 f150 that I took to this place because of a problem with the torque converter that caused a little noise when shifting into gear number 3.I take the vehicle to this workshop before the problem becomes greater and to be able to repair it with some time. The guys at the workshop told me that I had to leave the vehicle for a few days because they had to check and contact the insurance.They had the truck for a week. for repair. which I had to pay the rental of another truck for that week because my job requires it. Since they delivered my vehicle it ran like new for the first 3 days. I called the shop and let them know the problem. again another week with the vehicle in the shop and another week paying for a rental car.In total I had to return my truck for repair 3 times in less than 2 months and I spent more than 1500 dollars on rental cars. because I can't miss workThe work they did cost approximately $7,400 plus $1,500 that I paid in car rentals. for a single problem in which they are specialistsNow my car gets hot after 40 minutes of running and I have to stop. I have a lot of knocks in the transmission on the 4.5.6 gears and the torque converter problem continuesdon't go, don't waste your time or moneyThe work still has a guarantee and I prefer to find another mechanic than return to this place

Don't even bother going if you aren't in the market for an overpriced transmission. If your problem won't make them a ton of money they'll just be rude and send you out the door. "total car care" lol yea right. There are tons of mechanics over here who actually care about their customers just keep lookingEDIT: Whenever you hear one of these mechanics talk about inflation just run the other way lmfao, it's justification for dumb prices. Major red flag.

I dropped my SUV off because it was giving me a check engine light and was causing transmission issues again. Adam called me and informed that total repair of the vehicle was gonna be $732, so I told him I would call him back because I was at work and I wanted to inform my wife what was going on. Instead of Manager calling me back and informing that they quoted me the wrong price and apologizing, I had to find out the next day that there was a $200 difference. Then the Manager argued with me about price and said if they don't charge me the extra $200 they wouldn't program the TCM properly and I would have to be back to get my transmission replaced again. Basically agreeing that they would have committed negligence if they only charged me the $732 that they first quoted me. This is not good business practice nor is it good customer service.Also do not believe the response that was given. None of that is true. The manage informed me that the original price was $200 and not $300 as well as only took off $32 from the service cost which he had me write down. The owner, James Chess is blatantly lying and this review and information will be informed to the better Business bureau

I took my car here due to transmission issues and they had to replace it. It took them sometime to do the work so I had to keep calling but this was during covid so yea my review is a little late and I only had 1 car to get me to work.Overall the team was friendly and they offer some type of financing which is also good.My only suggestion to the company would be maybe they should work with a rental company for those who may need a car for a few days even if you only offer it to customers who need a replacement transmission that way your customers can still get around.

Being the Warehouse Manager/Fleet Manager, having reliable transportation is a must for the company. Recently 2 trucks went down and we needed transmissions for both. I got word about AAMCO, and these guys really know what they are doing & did it in a timely manner. Not to mention the price was well under what we were quoted. If anything else goes wrong hopefully not. These are the guys to go see..Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

Aamco replaced a seal on my transmission that didn t last 50 miles. I had it towed back to him to fix it, he(adam) let it sit for six weeks without communicating with me about what was going on. Excuse after excuse from this guy and false promises was all he could offer, much less being defensive and argumentive about the whole thing. I m out almost $500 for the failed repair and tow truck to and from my house. Car is still broken. Some communication skills would greatly benefit this business.Service: Transmission

Adam is knowledgeable and more importantly genuine and honest. Went in for a diagnostic, uncertain if there was a transmission issue. Diagnostic was inconclusive. Most guys probably would have just tried to sell a transmission in that situation. He, on the other hand, gave honest feedback and didn't even charge for the service. My son Pontiac Grand Prix had major transmission problems and we knew it needed work badly, so I called AAMCO up at Adam had us bring it in and took a look at it, as we already figured it was in pretty bad shape. But he got us a good deal on the trans with an awesome warranty less than what the other competitors were offering with a better warranty. He replaced the trans and my son car has been running fine every since!!

I felt that my car just wasn't right so I called in and spoke with Adam as my friends in the area that run dealerships always had fond things to say about this location. Well, Adam was super fabulous and inviting on the phone. Dropped the car off and felt that I was in good hands. Adam drove it personally and advised that he felt nothing wrong. Nothing at all. He is honest and fair when other shops would have created a problem just to fix it. Thank you for your care, concern and more importantly honesty. I will recommend this shop to ANYONE and if the need ever arises again, I will be back. Thank you again Adam and Happy Holidays!!!

I took my car to Amoco for transmission work after taking to two other places, Matt and Adam were very professional and courteous, checked my car out and told me what was wrong and actually fixed it alot cheaper than what it would have cost me at the other places. 3rd company warrantys are respected and that's hard to come by. They worked with me and my schedule even harder to come by. I have air-conditioning and that is essential in this heat with my mom and grandma

New Management! Amazing customer service! I have always taken my 1998 Honda to this location for repairs and had transmission work done in 2012 with great success. On my visit this week, I was worried about the severity of what my repair might be. The gear shift wasn't slipping into gear properly, and I was thinking the worst. I reluctantly brought the car in - figuring I'd get the run around and a list of items that needed to be fixed. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was greeted by new owners Matt & Matt and helped by Sam. I only waited an hour for the problem to be diagnosed, the part couriered to the shop and the repair work to be completed. I had two kids in tow, so for me this was incredible customer service. They are honest, hard working and genuinely care about making sure you understand the repair process, cost and future maintenance. It was nice to have a good car repair experience without the usual stress that comes from a visit to "the shop." I absolutely recommend this Aamco location for transmission work and more. We are headed on vacation at the end of June and I will be back to make sure the car gets a tune up before we hit the road.

Adam and Madeline are true professionals. I love Madeline's phone etiquette and the way she communicates respectfully (not with attitude) with everyone. She strives to provide the best service she can and she represents the business well. And Adam is truly a genuine and honest business owner. Not only did he provide me an honest assessment of my transmission repair needs, but he also performed the work at a reasonable price and in a timely manner. Recently, when he realized that he couldn't perform an engine repair request, he recommended me to another service that could, and he didn't charge me for his diagnostic time, even though I insisted to pay something. I'm thankful for having worked with Adam and Madeline in addressing my transmission and auto repairs services.Service: Transmission
