Our recent stay at the Westin Jekyll Island had its highs and lows. From the outset, Judi at the front desk stood out with her exceptional friendliness and helpfulness, setting a positive tone for our visit. However, there were notable shortcomings that detracted from what we expected from a Westin establishment.Upon arrival, we encountered Tesla chargers that were overgrown and one was broken, although staff promptly addressed this issue by removing obstructive bushes. Nonetheless, this initial impression left something to be desired. While the first night was comfortable, we were disappointed to find questionable stains on the bed skirt. The situation escalated when the A/C and refrigerator in our room malfunctioned the following night. Though we were relocated the next morning, the new room had cleanliness issues, with a dirty shower door and mold on the ceilings. As a loyal Bonvoy member, I usually receive post-stay communication from management, but this time, I heard nothing. Despite my efforts to reach out with concerns, I received no response, which was disappointing.Overall, our stay was satisfactory, but these shortcomings were unexpected from The Westin and not reflective of the usual standard associated with Marriott brands.Rooms: Rooms are nicely decorated but there were some cleanliness concerns.Nearby activities: Lots to do nearby. The beach is just steps away. There are bike rentals on location as well as shopping and restaurants right outside the steps of the hotel.

We enjoyed our trip to this property. We came over a busy winter weekend. The hotel was sold out but it didn t seem or feel overcrowded. This is a SUPER dog friendly hotel. It s directly on the ocean. The hotel could use a refresh as it s rather worn, particularly the rooms. For the area though it s a good option. The staff here is very friendly. The third and fourth floors we stayed on did have a rather foul order though.Rooms: Need updating, rather worn but still very functional and comfortable.Nearby activities: Plenty of outdoor activities around wet weather can be a drag.Walkability: Plenty of walking paths & a located in the middle of a village areaFood & drinks: There s a few restaurants around just outside the property, literally outside

Beautiful spot. Impression is the hotel is terribly understaffed. Restaurant service was a joke. People complaining of long wait times for service and food. Not the fault of the staff but the management for understaffing and lack of oversight. Grounds, rooms, lobby, restaurants are what you would expect, nothing more, nothing less in a four star hotel. Those looking for five star treatment. Look elsewhere

Stayed 4 nights during the off season.Great central location and right off the bike path and beach.Throughout our stay, we requested a few things, made reservation adjustments, or sought recommendations, so we had several interactions with front desk staff. Two of the front desk staff were super pleasant, down-to-earth, and helpful - they were attentive and thoughtful (i.e. didn t give the sense we were inconveniencing them or wasting their time). A third front desk staff was lazy, hungover, or did not like her job - in response to asking where we can do laundry, she suggested the campground 2 miles away or using other hotels (which may genuinely be the only options, so I let it go); later that day, we requested to borrow 2 plates to bring to our room to eat takeout food and she responded No, I don t think so (despite the hotel offering room service and on site restaurants) and didn t look into it or ask around, a response that surprised me I just said oh, ok and left puzzled.Although we enjoyed the island not being super crowded, we wonder if issues encountered would have been avoided during the on-season. The hot tub was out of order our entire stay (we checked daily), which was an absolute bummer because it was chilly and overcast with intermittent rain, so activities were limited (in this situation, it would be nice if they offered us to use the hot tub at their sister Marriott up the street. Despite being independently owned, they are overseen by Marriott Bonvoy, so they should work together to support promoting the brand). There was also construction and some shops/restaurants closed for renovations, or would close earlier than posted (I presume due to the season/weather).I understand it the off-season, but so long as there are guests, you re making an impression on them which impacts their decision if to return in the future or recommend to friends.P.S. On-site restaurant is overly expensive for what you get - eat local or at a different hotel s restaurant.

Outstanding place. I had issues ordering room service for food as I could never get connected to the restaurant or front desk for 3 of the 4 days i stayed. A bit disappointed with that but overall, great check in, great house keeping, and the hostess that checked me in was so professional and helpful.Rooms: Clean, soft pillows, and great accommodations.Nearby activities: Great things in walking distance.Walkability: The beach, the convention center, food, market

I travel for a living, and this hotel knows how to treat a traveler. The lobby is open and inviting, in the office season there were two desks open. I was greeted like a long time friend. I first about food and drinks, she told me I would be taking care of in Harry's lounge. Harry's did not disappoint, the cocktails were on point. The dinner recommendations were spot on, thank you to the staff at Harry's! I asked about the island and was given great advice, on where and how to tour the island. The stay at the Westin on Jekyll Island made me feel like a traveler should. Thank you to everyone who works at this establishment, you folks are the best!Rooms: The fourth floor king suite was spacious and provided an amazing view of the ocean. I had coffee on the massive balcony as the sun rose and the waves sang.Safety: You cannot find a safer place to stay and enjoy a vacation with your friends and family.Walkability: This island is a super walkable quaint "village". I did not partake but there were at least a dozen bikes available for visitors. There is a shuttle to take you where you want to go around the island.Food & drinks: I was welcomed at the bar even though I did not have a reservation. The bartender knew all of the right questions to ask and made perfect cocktails. He had great recommendations for dinner at night, and I never had to leave the hotel. This hotel is the total package if you desire comfort and an amazing vacation.

This hotel charged me $800 upon checking in for "incidentals," for which I was told would be only a $100 reversible charge. When I noticed the 8x charge I immediately went to the front desk to fix it. They told me that there was no manager on staff, that the only manager they had for the entire property had already left for the night - at 6:30pm - and could not be reached by phone or text, so the charge can't be reversed. They said that they will fix it but could not say when, and their attitude is apathetic at best; completely unacceptable for what is supposed to be a luxury hotel. I will avoid staying here again when visiting Jekyll Island, there are too many other good choices.

The air conditioning in the room did not work. Reported issue to front desk, and someone was supposed to fix it, but it never started working. Everything in the hotel closes extremely early leaving you no food or drink options after 10pm. No vending machines anywhere on site either. Parking is not ideal here either. If you leave you may not have anywhere to park when you return. The location of the hotel is good and the few amenities they do have are nice. Just be mindful to bring food and beverages if you get here late or need a late snack.

Called THREE times to ask if they offered a government rate for a business trip. The first time, I was hung up on by the male who answered. After calling back and dealing with the automated process again, Steve transferred me back to the automated line while I was mid sentence. The automated line asked me for a confirmation number, which I clearly didn t have yet. I called back a 3rd time & Steve transferred me again. Absolutely unprofessional. Moving on to a resort with better customer service.

BEST hotel/resort we've ever stayed at. Views are impossible to beat. The whole beach village it's part of is simply amazing. The hands-down best place I have ever stayed during a vacation. Just mere minutes from shops, food, and the Atlantic ocean! Just be cautious of Island prices!Rooms: Clean and well cared forNearby activities: So much to do on Jekyll Island! Drive, bike ride, or walk.Leave the island and go around to Brunswick or St. Simons!Walkability: 20+ miles of paths to walk or bike ride

Wow, what a fantastic hotel. My husband and I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and stayed until Sunday morning. September is the perfect month to visit- you don't get the summer crowds with families and all. The pool was clean and they had a bar outside. The entire hotel was very clean and tidy. We at breakfast at the hotel restaurant as well as had a wine in the evening there. The breakfast was fantastic! The one and only hiccup to the hotel is the Starbucks which I understand is not managed by the Westin. Starbucks does not open on time and they had one person in training working behind the counter by herself. Not a good look, Starbucks. The service there was extremely slow as you can imagine and it is a watered down Starbucks. They do not offer all the drinks. The person in front of me ordered a hot chocolate and wanted whipped cream and the trainee behind the counter said they did not carry whipped cream.

Overall, not worth the price. I could stay at a holiday inn for what I got here!!! The room furniture seemed cheap, old, and run down. We asked housekeeping to come twice until they finally came to clean our room one day. There was no umbrella service on beach even though advertised Sunday before Labor Day. We waited standing on beach for 30 minutes and no one came. The pool is tiny. We went to breakfast one morning on site & it took an hour for them to make our food and the waitress didn t want to make the juice I wanted. Do NOT let them fool you with the fake Starbucks!!! Absolutely horrendous coffee. Also, the drinks by the pool were legit so watered down!!!!This was not a 4 star stay. The location was great. The dinner at the restaurant was fabulous. I loved having my dogs here too. However, for the price & service .. the price tag it just wasn t what I was expecting!!!!

This is a very nice property. Very helpful staff. Room wasn't ready when requested, valet/concierges were very helpful. One of the men even tried to help me assemble my wife's handicap scooter. We requested and received a handicap friendly room however it was located an xtremely long walk from the elevator. Who puts a handicap room location at the farthest distance from the elevator? The room was very nice, balcony with a view.Walkability: Room located too far from elevator to be handicap friendly.

Good room, no room service, the beach is muddy, there are 3 places to eat including at the pool area. They have what I experienced to be among the best elevators ever. The shuttle service will take you anywhere and pick you up and runs until 11:00 PM. That shuttle service is outstanding. Valet parking and bell service. I could stay there again.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here. The food was not impressive before as well as this time. The key lime was recommended. Nothing spectacular. Drinks were overpriced. This time, they messed up my order. We can stay there but won't eat there.Walkability: You are on the beach
