The hotel has a great, beach front location! The grounds are well kept and well decorated. Our room was clean and so quiet, we didn't hear any noise from surrounding rooms or the hall! The shower pressure isn't great. The smoke detector has the brightest blinking light on it, which is super notable at night. Breakfast was good, had a good selection and was tasty, and the outdoor seating options were great! Overall, our stay was very comfortable and pleasant!

Everything was great. Good location. Sun was bright. Pool was pretty. Food aight. Bikes were fun. There aren't enough water fountains and the sink water tastes like iron. This is typical for the island but somewhat burdensome. Bring your own water and be ready to pay for more unless you find water elsewhere to refill. Also the breakfast items run out towards the end so get to breakfast early.

We had a lovely stay here over New Years. The highs were numerous. 1)Destiny at the front desk who helped us into a lovely room after we messed up our initial reservation. She was was so friendly and helpful. 2) A beautiful, VERY CLEAN room on the side with dune and ocean view. It was comfortable, well laid out and we loved the full kitchen as we know from other Jekyll stays that it pays to bring your own food if staying for multiple days. I don't know how the housekeeping staff keeps the resort so clean with all the sand coming in on shoes but the place was amazing. 3) The lounging area outside and pool are really nice, even when it was cold. 4). The location on the beach is superb, a little away from the other resort hotels so there were less people around. 5). The musician on Saturday night was great! The 3 for service was for some less than stellar bar/restaurant service.

My family was there for 3 days (April 4-7th). Although we had a great time, we were very disappointed that the pool was not heated during our 3 day stay, although it is advertised as being a heated pool. We visited 2 or 3 years ago in April and the pool was nice and warm. This time the pool was freezing, and most of the children wouldn't even go in the pool, thus the hottub was consistently loaded with kids between the ages of 5 and 10. We have stayed at the Westin up the road in the past and they too have a heated pool. We walked to the Westin on Saturday, and I dipped my hand in the pool to feel the temperature and it was nice and warm. Although the staff and service was great, this left us pretty disappointed because the heated pool was a huge factor in us decided to visit this hotel in April. I have reached out to Marriott to hopefully get refunded one of our free night certificates.

The location isn't the best for globe hunting as you have to walk along the side of the road to get to downtown. The menu that we saw for their restaurant was substituted for a Valentine's Day menu that had nothing we wanted and everything was overpriced. There was blood on the floor in the elevator and on the elevator door when we got into it on the second day we were there. The room itself was pretty nice. We had called several weeks in advance to try to get three rooms together. All three of us called and they told all of us that we would get rooms together. One party member was put on the third floor when they gave us our room it was on the fourth floor and we asked to be put on a third floor and they said they had no room. So we went to the fourth floor which they gave us a ocean view which we haven't asked for so that was okay. When the other member of our party arrived they put them on the third floor two doors down from the first party that we wanted to be next to because my grandson was in there. One room supposed to have a king but they give them two queens. The ice makers had mold in them in the black was coming out onto the ice cubes. We told them and they said they would clean the machines immediately which they never did. We ended up making ice cubes in the freezer and ice cube trays. The kitchenettes are pretty handy. The member in our third party ended up having problems with the credit card that was used to reserve the room and had to pay with another credit card. When she received her bill she was charged over $800 for two nights. There is a $20 a day fee on top of your room cost. They do give you $10 credit towards their store which has very little in it and $10 credit towards the restaurant / bar.

Stayed in October. The good: overall, awesome motel, clean, with great beach access and pool area. Would give 5 stars if not for our room AC experience. The bad: hot tub was lukewarm; coffee machine by front desk was empty; and, worst of all, the AC in our room was terrible!Evidently, they have sensors in the rooms, so if not moving, no air! I would activate it, but it would only stay on a couple minutes, and go back off!At midnight I finally went to front desk and asked for a fan, because it was miserably warm in our room! While there, I saw another guest bring a fan in from their vehicle! The AC did finally kick in and stayed on at about 6 a.m., which was really weird.....Staff just offered an apology when I complained the next morning after one of the most miserable nights I've ever had at a motel! Wow, thanks!I'm sure not all the rooms have this issue, but ours sure did, and we were not offered another room or anything.

They never came in to clean our room. Breakfast was so cheap compared to the price paid. Staff was nice, but there wasn't enough. We had to wait for an hour to get our meal at the hotel restaurant. They have a really weird credit system that makes you pay for snacks whether you want them or not. There weren't enough bicycles. And you have to pay to get on the island on top of the hotel fee.

I love quiet nature resorts with lots of free stuff :) This Marriotte has free shuttle service to Jeckyle Island's 2 museums and historic millionaire homes on the Marsh side. It has free breakfast, free bikes for 2 hrs, and a choice of FREE CREDIT mini snack bar items, Starbucks, or Dine in Restaurant toward your daily resort fee of $20.00. The new hotel suites are beautiful. I loved the beet and peach salad for dinner with a glass of house wine after an enjoyable walk on the beach. Points deals in the shoulder season make this destination a must last minute stop if the weather is right on your road trip to Florida in February.Nearby activities: Visit the historic Marsh side... photograph Driftwood Beach, or Enjoy a game of golf.Walkability: Nice nature walking trails through the marsh and woodlands across the street. A special thank you to Brenda and all who worked together in the restaurant to make my stay an extra hospitable and enjoyable one!

We've been visiting Jekyll Island for years and love it. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I was very much looking forward to my first stay here. We stayed for five nights.Positives: The hotel itself is gorgeous. The lobby is lovely and inviting. They even had live music one night during our stay. The grounds and common areas (fire pits, pool area, lawn with cornhole and volleyball court) are impeccably kept. The restaurant offers decent food and friendly service. The bar is fantastic! My daughter loved having a Starbucks in the lobby. All of the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful (with the exception of one ridiculously rude front desk employee. He made even simple things like getting clean bedding for the pull out bed impossible.)Negatives: Our room was not great. The kitchen faucet was falling off, no water pressure in the shower, The bed was hard as a rock and no housekeeping services at all. I feel like if you're paying close to $300 a night the service should be comparable and it simply was not at this hotel. We paid for an ocean front king studio and received a very small queen studio stuck in the corner of the hotel. Technically we did have an ocean view in part, but the room was not as advertised. When I took these issues to the General Manager Rick, he was very apologetic and even comped our last night (something we appreciated very much). All of this said, the positives of this property far outweigh the negatives. It is a beautiful place.

This was a perfect pet-friendly place to stay for the long Thanksgiving weekend. The beach location and pool area are beautiful. Staff is friendly. The only downside was the restaurant seemed wildly understaffed and the poor servers were obviously overwhelmed. Ran out of the special Thanksgiving dinner...ran out of burgers the next night. The little shop downstairs was almost completely out of merchandise by Saturday and Starbucks was only open in the morning. Hmmmm.... Granted it was a holiday weekend so it may just have gotten away from them. We had a great weekend regardless and loved the room overlooking the beach and pool, so a few snafus downstairs isn't a biggy in the big scheme of things.

I honestly think the bed in our room was the box spring. I did not sleep at all. It was too firm - it felt like I was sleeping on a table.Strange experience. The Starbucks worker quit abruptly mid- order in front of all the customers. The single worker he left to handle the crowd of travelers is a rock star. Give her a raise.

Great atmosphere lovely pool with nice access to the beach. Staffing was not on par with Marriott it is not worth to pay for it here. The restaurant staff were great though the front desk not so much. Breakfast buffet ran out of items and food was everywhere. Ran out of coffee ended up getting Starbucks. Will explore other hotel options there are plenty of other options!

Residence Inn is one of the newer hotels on Jeckyll Island. The location is on the beach and also has a really nice pool area and lounge areas with fire pits. The lobby is also comfortable to hang out if you desire. The restaurant on site is good and service was on point each day. The rooms were spacious, well appointed and had great views. My only complaint was the power outage on the entire island, due to a storm. Considering the location, there should have been generators. I would still return to this hotel as everything met my expectations.

Me and wife really enjoyed our stay at Residence Inn during Labor day weekend. It's practically a brand new and well maintained hotel, ample parking and very nice layout. I used points to book my stay and booked 1 bed with sea view.Room was clean, air conditioning was great. Bathroom was up to date with hot water available anytime. Breakfast was also pretty decent with lots of variety. Hotel also offer shuttle if you want to travel around island. And bike rental free for 2 hours.Only thing I was little confused was $10 credit that was offered towards Starbucks inside hotel. I see two pending charges on my credit card, hopefully they will settle it properly.Overall I definitely recommend this hotel.Rooms: I highly recommend booking room facing ocean view

We booked an island view room using points, our stay was the weekend after Independence Day 2023. The hotel is WONDERFUL! Both Courtyard and Residence Inn are under the same roof sharing a pool and entrances. We didn t hear another guest while in our room the entire 4 night stay, the insulation is unbelievable! Everything is very clean and new. My only picky complaints are shower water pressure is low for conservation and the toilet seat is not slow-closing. The A/C somehow knows when you are present, so if you like to sleep cool, you will need to bump the thermostat down as when you are not present, the room setting automatically moves to 75, but it cools down quickly within 20 minutes of your arrival. Breakfast by key card (to keep Courtyard guests out) was very good and typical for Marriotts we visit through the year and the breakfast employees were never standing still, always working diligently to refill food containers, coffee and juice and removing used dishes from tables. Our reservation was for 5 but we only had 3 towels at check-in and after our second night cleaning but hotel staff had the additional towels delivered both times in under 5 minutes, so I m very pleased with the staff that keep the place running! Ample parking and super easy beach access although I don t think a beach wheelchair would be able to navigate the ramp down to the sand unless it s extremely narrow, if that s something you need. We shall definitely return!Rooms: Quiet and spacious

My family and I stayed at this great relaxing Marriott hotel the first week of May. This was one of my best Marriott experiences. Our flight was delayed and lost a whole day of our vacation and when I contacted the hotel it was no problem - we will have your room for you when you get here . Upgraded our room to ocean view with balcony. You couldn t ask for a better experience- thanks Eddie. Hotel is new and great setup. My adult daughters loved the pool, hot tub and restaurant/bar. They spent days hanging out. The island itself is was not busy and we often had beach to ourselves. Biking on the beach was a hit. Horseback riding we had the whole beach to ourselves. It felt like a private island for us. We used the bikes at the hotel a lot to go to market area and took the very friendly and convenient hotel shuttle (Liz) when heading to restaurants. Front desk staff were great (Mama and Eddie). Would I recommend this location for a low key and relaxing vacation absolutely. Pool is great and rooms are large and have what you need. We did not want for anything. Truly loved this trip. We are planning a return trip.Rooms: Clean, large, we had great view of ocean and pool area.Nearby activities: Lots of history on the island to take side trips and explore when not relaxing or just looking for a change of pace from pool or beach.Walkability: Easy access to beach and great walking beach. Bikes at hotel were also a hit and gave independence to adult kids who could not use rental car. Lots of trips to market to shop, get snacks and drinks.Food & drinks: Loved the drink specials and the food. Starbucks was a hit with the adult kids.

Love it. Great views from the rooms and the rooms were really nice and clean and spacious. Don't miss waking up one morning and watching the sunset from your patio!! It is spectacular! Our party consisted of 2 couples w/ 2 teen boys. We really enjoyed the pool, and when it rained we took cover under the patio and played jumbo Jenga with great bar & lunch service. Breakfast is a nice hearty spread so we were ready for a day of exploring! Eggs were nice and moist, several juice options, the hash browns were awesome! I'm not even normally a potatoes in the am kinda girl but dang!! We wound up eating at the in-house restaurant "The Shore" every night we were there even though that wasn't the plan. We tried to go to The Wharf one night (w/ reservations) and Tortuga Jacks another, but were disappointed with hour+ long waits and just came back "home" to The Shore where we knew we would get great food and service. We ate lunch there a couple days too. I wound up trying things I wasn't even sure I'd like and of course wound up loving it. The fire pits were a nice touch in the eves when we went night swimming and the weather cooled down a bit. Staff was absolutely fabulous every step of the trip. From our shuttle gal Liz, who was so pleasant and wonderful and wound up taking us all over the island during our stay, to Sara at the bar, and Mama at the front, service was spectacular. Our last day there before checking out I even thought I lost my phone and all the staff went scrambling looking for it. I also love the fact that it is pet friendly and I saw several people with their well-behaved dogs there and I wish I would have known that because I would have brought mine sometimes you go to a pet friendly place and smell dog in the rooms but that is not the case here at all you would never know that it was pet friendly other than by seeing the occasional dog vacationing with it's family.Nearby activities: Visit Driftwood Beach early in the am, it is so neat! You can even ride the hotel bikes there! Also visit Cumberland Island if possible! Gotta book the ferry ahead of time tho.Food & drinks: Our favorites (and I think between the 6 of us we tried them all) were the pizza, wings, and Chicken Caesar Wrap. Caesar salad was good too.

This place was beautiful. We had great interactions with the staff. The food from the restaurant was great as well as the staff who waited on us. George was so helpful each day of our stay, always asking if we needed assistance and offering help. Robert gave us so much helpful information during our rides to the wharf and was very accommodating. We stayed here for my birthday and it was amazing. The pool was in great shape and sooooo close to the beach. Loved it here and will be back next month.

This hotel was in a great location, right on the beach, and close to shopping and dining. Every staff member I encountered was friendly and provided excellent customer service. The hotel was very clean and my room was spacious. The room had a couch that could be turned into a bed, a small kitchen, a king bed, and the bathroom had a large ealk in shower. I had a room with a balcony with a partial ocean view. I ate at the hotel restaurant on my first night and had the best shrimp and grits I have ever had.The only only thing I would say was bad really isn't that bad, just something to keep in mind when visiting. All the balconies overlook the pool, and that pool is wide open, with kids having the best time from 9am to 10 pm. If you like to sit on the balcony, relax and listen to the waves better get up early or wait until after 10pm. I will say that if you are inside with the door closed you cannot hear the noise from the pool.

The beach access is wonderful, the pool is beautiful with a good sized hot tub. Outdoor amenities and entertainment are enough to keep you entertained for a overall great experience.Rooms: Everything you expect with a Marriott experience.Nearby activities: Bikes for rent, free shuttles to near by shops and restaurants, this place is in a good location for a more secluded but still accessible experience.

Overall great place to take your family on a beach vacation. I booked this hotel through points and it was perfect for my family of 5 (3 kids under 5). The perks were the location and proximity to the beach, shopping, etc., the free breakfast, the hotel credits, free bike rentals and free on-demand shuttle, added bonus having a kitchen in room to help cut costs of a family vacation. Service was top tier from anyone I encountered that worked here. Room had a few minor bumps and bruises but nothing to alter our stay in any significant way. We will be returning each summer for the foreseeable future here, we loved our stay and wished it was longer.Rooms: A few details like the drains being broken and a few floating shelves that sagged and I didn t trust, other than that no major impact on our stay.Nearby activities: Turtle center, St. Andrew s Beach, driftwood beach. Everything is within a 15 minute drive.Walkability: Easy to get around the property and very effortless load and unload to the car.Food & drinks: Great selection and very accessible.

The Residence by Marriot has a very friendly and helpful staff. The place sits right on a very quiet beach. The Shore restaurant located inside has great food! I had a pepperoni pizza and my wife had salmon-both delicious! Clean rooms, bicycles are available through the hotel for convenience in getting around. There's lots to do at the hotel!Safety: Felt very safe!
