When you arrive at the building there is a sign that states that it s a virtual property. Everything is done via text. There are caretakers on site and if you need something you text. Everything was fine with our stay so we didn t need to test it out. We were given a code to access the room, and texted when we left. We had a double queen and it was fine. The beds were a little too high, so I kept banging my calves when getting on it. The unit could use a little refreshing but it was adequate for the price and served as a good base for our trip. The room comes with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a small breakfast table.Nearby activities: Within 15 minutes to Anna Ruby Falls and close to area parks and trailsWalkability: Located on a somewhat steep hill but easy to get up and down on paved parking.Food & drinks: Walking distance to shops and restaurants

The motel is a bit older, but the location makes up for it! We stayed in the windmill, which was super cute! We loved the dual shower heads in our room, too.We were close enough to walk all over town. The roads to get here are winding and beautiful! Highly recommend a weekend visit! We will be back.Walkability: Perfect spot for walking all over town!

The location is great and within walking distance to most businesses. We stayed two nights in the two queen bed room. The room was mostly clean and free of bed bugs, but the sheets were clean but stained, the TV didn't work the entire 2 night stay (yes, we texted them to fix it and it was not fixed), and the shower mat was disgusting and needs to be replaced because I doubt it has seen a bucket of bleach. Overall, we had a pleasant stay but the sheets, TV, and shower mat were off putting.

They upgraded us to the suite fir our Anniversary, and baby was with us, so allowed so much room. Very nice staff, no stairs, but the hill could have killed Gerald. Due to his handicap. The view made it worth it!Rooms: Clean and tidy.Nearby activities: Food, bars, stores, everything!Safety: Felt very safe.Walkability: Literally 1 minute walk to everything!Food & drinks: Food is great everywhere! P.o Paul Steakhouse was a hit!

We stayed in the windmill room first floor. Massive room with electric fireplace and 4 person hot tub. Full wet bar. Absolutely amazing. Can easily fit 10 -12 people in the space if you are in town with friends or family. Large party deck out front with seating and fire pit as well. Front row parking. Shower has dual shower heads which is another great feature. One of the best rooms we have ever stayed in. Truly exceptional. Coded keyless door knob and contactless check in check as well. If you need towels or linen or maid service you just send a text, hit the town, and when you get back its done. A true gem in the Georgia mountains. God bless.

This was a cute motel in a windmill. (We didn't stay in the actual windmill, even though you can). It's definitely an older places, but the rooms have been updated. Overall, it was a very nice stay. Check in and check out was a bit different, it is all done through text. Very close to town and all the action, that is why we chose this particular motel.Nearby activities: Close to all the activities in town.Walkability: You have to walk up and down a steep hill at the motel, but you can walk to all activities.

The Heidi motel is located within walking distance of downtown. However it did not have a gas fireplace or mini bar and the wifi was touch and go. These amenities were included on their website and included in the email confirming our reservation. We stayed under the windmill in a suite. The fireplace was a computer like monitor with dancing electric flames. We won't be back.Walkability: Close to downtown and great restaurants.

Loved this hotel. The rooms are beautiful, updated, clean and very spacious! It was well equipped with everything we needed. Michelle and Chris were friendly and communicative. Unfortunately, we did not rest well due to the noise; traffic, music, and people gathering outside of room talking late at night. But that is to be expected due to its location. So I would keep that in mind when booking. The location is fabulous as it is in walking distance of everything! If you have mobility issues and plan to park at the hotel and walk to the shops and restaurants, then this is not for you. The motel is on a hill and you will have to walk down a slope to get to the sidewalk. Other than that, I recommend Heidi Motel for your Helen, Ga stay.*My only recommendation to staff is that you ask guests upon check in that they not gather outside of doors visiting due to noise. I would also carpet the upstairs as it sounds like a herd of elephant's walking when people are above you (It's terrible, especially when they are banging around until 2 a.m.), and I would look at the air unit and see how to quiet it a bit (Yes, we could have called ya'll and I am certain you would have come over to look at it, but we chose not to bother you at night). Again, all this said, I do recommend The Heidi Motel. It is truly lovely!

My wife and I stayed there for a couple of days with our little dog in the Bavarian Lodge and we really enjoyed our visit... it's a beautiful place (the windmill is a perfect background for pictures) with spectacular views of the mountains and the town and is located right at the beginning of main street so you can walk pretty much everywhere. There's a little country store right across the road from the motel and there is a great pizza place just 300 yards away and there's a great little bakery and cafe that has the best french toast. The rooms are comfy (but bring your own pillows)Walkability: All the restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance from the motel

Stayed here last minute and the cleaning staff was very helpful and friendly. Let us check out the rooms and pick the one we wanted. The check in is all virtual and they helped speed up the process by contacting the owner. The rooms were clean and very nice. We stayed in the windmill section and the view was wonderful. Great place to stay and great location.

The location of this hotel is perfect for doing anything down town. We were able to park and walk to everything which was great because traffic was insane. The don't have staff on property and check in was done fully online. The rooms were clean and the air worked great. We sat on the little deck and relaxed after a long travel day and just people watched for quite some time.

made my reservation back on Sept 2, hoping that my wife and I could spend 1 night in Helen GA for October fest, we then were going to make our way to cherokee to spend some time at Harrahs for a few days, well unfortunately my wife had to have an ankle replacement and we had to cancel our whole vacation, well I sent an e mail requesting a refund due to this situation, and what I got was an e mail back from Chad that I didn't meet the 7 day cancelation policy, I understand about policies but this was not planned. I then sent another 2 e mails possibly requesting maybe half the money back, I did not receive any response from the 2 e mails that I sent. Very unprofessional in my eyes.

All the positive things about this hotel are the things any reasonable person would expect from any hotel. Additionally it is very convenient walking distance to everything. Be aware that there are two driveways and both are very steep. The room walls have very little sound proofing. We heard everything going on in our neighbors room, and likely vice versa. The bed in room 51 is messed up! There are very literally peaks and valleys to fall off of and into. The check in/ checkout process is completely automated via text and problem free. Our overall stay was good.

My husband and I booked this hotel for our 12 year anniversary and first trip to Helen. It did not disappoint! The gentleman Chris that checked us in was so helpful and nice and the room was absolutely adorable! It was within walking distance to everything which was so convenient. They even set up a little surprise our last day there to help us celebrate. If your looking for a unique and truly amazing place to stay this place it it!Rooms: Clean and cozyNearby activities: Tons of food and shopping near byWalkability: You can walk to all major attractions

Although I did put five stars there were some problems but they had nothing to do with the motel. The Hispanic people above us were extremely loud all day and night so we didn't get any sleep and ended up leaving at 2 in the morning today because of it. We were actually going to see if we could get the room for another night but not getting any sleep ruined it. Also when we first got there we had trouble getting into the room but what of the men who works there did help us eventually figure out how to get in which was great. But we got into the room it looked exactly like it did in the pictures. It look more like a tiny apartment than a motel room. Super cute. They provided us lots of towels and washcloths and little tiny things of shampoo conditioner and lotion which was awesome. The bed was super comfortable. There is a flatscreen Roku TV but you can't watch anything on unless you sign into your own Hulu or Netflix or YouTube. I'm not sure why they would provide a TV if you can't use it. When we first got in the room it was ice cold and we had trouble for the first night figuring out how to turn it off. There was a small refrigerator, microwave and a drip coffee machine. The room was very nice and clean. Just to forewarn everyone you have to drive up a hill to get to the motel and I'll tell you what the hill is not big girl friendly when you have to walk up and down it all day.Nearby activities: There's a ton of shops to check out. They have mountain coaster you can write on and a couple tubing places. You can go tubing down the river that goes through Helen. They have a old-timey picture place you can get your picture taken.

Location, service, cleanliness, comfort, atmosphere... I honestly can't decide which of these was the best part of staying at the Heidi Motel. The friendliness of the check-in process, which is done remotely now, was a sign of things to come. And upon arriving the cleaning staff welcomed us warmly, telling us all the points that would make our stay as wonderful as possible. As for the room, it was the perfect blend of spacious and cozy, providing a brilliant place for spending time between adventures in Helen. And being perched on a hill, at the outskirts of town, meant it was both secluded and convenient. Although downtown Helen is a short stroll away, and Betty's grocery store is directly across the street, you don't feel overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of Helen. In fact, once you close the door you can't tell that Helen is only a stone's throw away. The only downside of this trip was having to leave. Heidi Motel is more than a travel destination, it's a home away from home. And I simply can't wait to return. Full marks on all points!!Rooms: The king suite we stayed in was one of the most romantic rooms we've encountered. The hot tub was a real treat, nestled in a wooden room that felt totally decadent. An electric fireplace added an element of coziness, while the flat screen TV gave access to all our streaming favorites, including Pandora for a little ambient music. Our room was clean and fresh, with little touches that made it full of character and charm.Nearby activities: Everything is nearby, from restaurants to mini-golf, from shops to wine tastings. All the shops are a short stroll from the motel, meaning you can return to the room again and again when you fill up with goodies. And the short walk is just enough to work up a healthy appetite for when you hit Helen's German fare.Safety: The keycode access was a really nice touch. Gone are the days of keeping up with keys and cards, meaning everything felt just that bit more secure.Walkability: Betty's grocery store, which has absolutely everything, is directly across the street. Downtown Helen is no more than a ten minute walk, if that. This is the perfect location if you want to be close to everything without feeling overwhelmed.Noteworthy details: The staff were friendly beyond belief. When my wife and I arrived, the housekeeper gave us the warmest of welcomes, telling us every detail that would make our stay perfect. And Michelle, the person in charge of our reservations, was an absolute delight to speak to. My only regret is that with remote check-in I never got to put a face with the warm and friendly person I spoke to. But it's a fair price to pay for never having to go to a reception desk one single time.

We stayed in the King Suite in the Windmill. The room is lovely and so comfortable! The bed is very comfortable and the electric fireplace adds cozy-cabin type warmth and ambiance. The in-room hot tub was in perfect working order and has a lovely stone surround. The proximity to downtown Helen, GA can't be beat for convenience. We had a late check-in and the young woman at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Well priced hotel. Perfect location. Clean rooms. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is the bed. It is very firm. Not just firm but very firm. Borderline uncomfortable. A bad night of sleep is the last thing you want on vacation. I hope it was just the room I got and they aren't all this way because I would like to come again in the future.Other than that, it's walking distance to everything in Helen. It's reasonably priced, it's clean, and it looks super cool! It's awesome to get to come back to the room and see the windmill. Very beautiful building that fits right in with the town. If you are debating about which place to stay, 10000% recommend you stay here unless you need a softer bed.Rooms: Clean, spacious rooms. They are decorated well with all necessary amenities. Coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, TV, table, dresser, iron.Nearby activities: Everything is nearby. This place is walking distance to everything in Helen.Safety: It feels quite safe here. Although I do hope they change the room codes. Our room was 11 and the code was 1011. I wonder if room 12 would have the code 1012?Walkability: So close to everything!!

This place is the cutest! Check in was an absolute breeze, and our room was spotlessly clean. It was a cold and rainy weekend, so I was thrilled to see the electric fireplace already turned on for us when we got in. It s a super convenient location to everything downtown, and we were able to walk everywhere. This was probably the coziest place we ve stayed while traveling!

Great location and room (#10). We enjoyed having all of our destinations within walking distance. It was cool in the evening and having the gas log fireplace was the perfect touch to end the day. Very relaxing and accomodating!
