Absolutely love this place! The location makes it perfect, you're right in the middle of everything. It makes it so much easier to come in and out of the bustle. My kids can hang out in the room and meet us out where we are. The service is so great too! Love Sabrina, who was at the front desk. She is just so sweet and kind, really felt like we've known each other for years. I rarely do reviews, but I had to because I wanted to give this place the recognition it deserves. The only downside is that the rooms are a bit small and dated. They're not what we're used to, but the location and service make up for that. We will make this an annual trip and definitely be staying here every time.

I can not say enough nice things about the place. Our bathroom the first time we went was a little outdated and not the cleanest but this time when we went back the bathroom was FRESHLY redone i have never in my life been so happy with a hotel bathroom!!! Big shower great water pressure good hot water it was perfect and CLEAN. The room was great (203) Not the view i wanted but still beautiful. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The location is the best location in all of Helen! The only negative thing i have to say at all about the room is the mattress was not bad back friendly but if you like soft mattresses it is perfect!

We stayed here this past weekend. The price was good for the location -- the location is right in the middle of everything. The rooms are nice, the balcony is awesome, and the service was above expectations from check-in to a housekeeping visit (unexpected these days), and help with lost-and-found while checking out before their office hours. The mattresses do need an upgrade.

The staff is wonderful and super friendly. The location is perfect, right in the middle of Octoberfest. The beds are extremely comfortable. The rooms have everything you may need. The only draw back was, no elevator available, or handicap access. Other than that, it was a beautiful experience staying here. You are treated like family, but in the best way possible.Walkability: Don't need your car, everything is within walking distance

The location is great! The ladies that work there are great! We really enjoyed our time there! It was reasonably affordable also. The only reason it gets four stars is because it is a little outdated especially the restrooms.

I d like to give this hotel a better review. The staff was super friendly and the location was perfect. Right smack in the center of town! Once we parked our car (free) we never moved it! Unfortunately the hotel was tired and the rooms are in desperate need of updating. The rooms were clean but need $ rehab. ALSO . Beware of the 3.99% surcharge added to all debit and credit card purchases throughout town. Cash rules!

Our 2nd trip here, we are officially regulars, we've tried many hotels here, The Heidi, Black Forest Bed and Breakfast, Gabby's Cabin's- I recommend ALL of these, but we choose to stay at The Castle after last trip because IT'S SO EXCITING to be right in the heart of Helen- upstairs in your room, on your porch ( we like street view to people watch and wave) in your own privacy..and it's right above The Alpine Dispensary, so it doesn't get much better that THAT! Someone in these comments said the bar across the street is loud crazy, well we had our air on and fan and heard none of it. The bed was AMAZING in room 212 and nice new shower to boot!

Very quaint & quiet hotel. No elevator, so I hope you don t mind a workout during your vacation. All the rooms are on the 2nd floor. River view rooms let you enjoy watching the tubers going by. All shops are in walking distance.Rooms: The rooms are comfortable and clean; didn t notice any odors. Very quiet even though there was no vacancy. A little disappointed that there wasn t someone at the desk later. They close the desk around 5pm. The TV reception kept going out.Safety: Wasn t told that there was a room key on the door with an easily guessable combination. Very concerning. This is not ok. I would feel unsafe, especially if I was a single traveler, after realizing this. I would recommend removing the key when you arrive and replacing when you check out.Walkability: The Castle Inn is in the middle of downtown. Everything is in walking distance.

There is an entrance on the front side that is much easier to use, parking is directly behind the building, next to Cowboys and Angels restaurant. The straits from the back are very narrow and very much inclined so if you got bad knees, take the long way. Check out is at 10am and front desk closes at 5pm. It's close to everything. Beautiful inside, balconies on main St view. Slightly cheaper if you pay in cash

SHOWER WAS EXTRAORDINARY!!! Thank you for that shower and its awesome water flow.Room was clean and homey. We had an awesome balcony right over the river. Hotel right in the middle of town, close to everything. Restaurant downstairs. Wifi worked well and the TV had Netflix and Prime dedicated channels.Only two small issues... Two flights of stairs, oof. The AC unit was blowing over the left side of the bed. I slept there so it didn't bother me.

I have walked by this place so many times thinking how luxurious it must be to stay in a castle. I never bothered to call because of multiple reasons... first being that its a castle so it must be expensive..... the location is absolutely perfect. Just walk right down the stairs on to main street. So needless to say I thought it would be waaaaaaay out of my price range. I called and spoke to Debbie the manager, and she was the sweetest most professional person I have spoke to since trying to book a room for a special weekend. I cannot wait to stay there in June!! Thank you for being so kind and answering all of my questions.

I was recently getting my floors refinished and needed a place to stay last minute and also close to my home here in Helen, GA. The Castle Inn was very accommodating and helpful on such short notice! I was able to get an amazing suite over looking the river on one side and a street view on the other, where I could sit out on the balcony and take in the sights of town! Very spacious, with a separate bedroom area which I loved.. all the comforts of home. Very friendly staff and great location! A 10 out of 10 will recommend to everyone!

Stayed here on 2/11/23. We booked over the phone where they took my card information but upon check in was notified I would be charged additionally for using card instead of cash but there was no ATM inside the hotel. They did allow early check in though so a star for that. The hotel is in a great location with a beautiful view but the actual hotel itself was a disappointment. It s smells old and musty inside and our room had a strong odor as well. Our bathroom was definitely not clean so we chose not to use the shower at all while we were there. After hours the hotel was only accessible via a back door in the parking lot behind the building. We couldn t reach any hotel staff for assistance the evening of our stay and check out was confusing since there was no staff present to help. Apparently you just lock your key in your room and hope for the best as you drive away.2/5 stars for the location and early check in.

I don't understand the positive reviews, it's almost like we stayed in a different hotel. The staff was nice, but that's almost all the good I can say about this place, and that the location and views are great. Other than that, the hotel was old in the worst way possible, as in it looked unkept, forgotten and decayed, it was musty, was and felt dirty, the mattress felt like it was 40 years old and a troll had been sleeping on there for that same amount of time. As soon as we got to our room we immediately wanted to leave, it was so uncomfortable.Helen in general was depressing, and I'd advice anyone who asked to stay away from this tourist trap, it was mostly a waste of time and money and hardly enjoyable.

Staff was very gracious. The room was clean. They are working on updating and a new shower was part of this. It was by the river but no view from the room. The downside to this hotel, two flights of stairs to get to the room. There is a stairwell to the parking area out the back and another stairwell to the front main road. The balcony off the room is nice with a view of the river and the mountains but sadly the noise of traffic and throngs of people take away from the beauty and peace. This reminded us of Gatlinburg, TN, tourist trap with more incentive to buy items than a getaway to enjoy the area.

Great place to stay while in Helen,Ga the location is perfect, rooms are always fresh & clean, free parking in rear of hotel & prices are great The Troll Tavern is directly below the Castle Inn so very, very convenient when you re hungry or want an adult beverage The Castle Inn is located just passed the bridge on the main drag in Helen. Hang a right after going over the bridge & then another right onto the alley-like pathway leading to their parking lot. Cowboys & Angels Restaurant is a very short, diagonal walk from there aswell as other establishments. For lodging, You must call for reservations as the Castle Inn doesnt have a site link for scheduling online, only a website detailing its history & some of the amenities but the receptionist is always super friendly when scheduling. There is no elevator so keep that in mind if you have trouble with stairs. We ve stayed here during the busy October season & the off season in Feb/March & always stay in the rooms overlooking the strip..the noise has never bothered us so the rooms must be pretty well insulated for an older building..they also have rooms overlooking the river. This is our go-to spot anytime we plan a trip to Helen doesnt get anymore convenient, for our likes & needs anyway!

Stayed here because it s centrally located and easy walk to most things in Helen. Staff was friendly and check in process was easy. Room 203 was clean and a decent a size with large TV and small refrigerator. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. We had planned on staying three nights but left after two. My back could not take the bed anymore. I would only consider staying here again if the mattress was replaced with a much better one than was there. My rating would ve been 4 stars if not for the uncomfortable bed.

Very dark and musty. Hotel needs serious updates. It was very dirty. There was mold in the bathroom. Beds were filthy and looked as if the sheets had not been washed, there was hair all over them. Stains on the walls including a white splatter stain and a nuclear green stain . The beds creaked so bad and it was so uncomfortable leading me to believe they have had the same beds for ages. Holes in walls. Coffee pot was gross. No microwave. No plugs. The ones available did not work. The furniture had a layer of dust so they clearly hadn't been wiped down in a while. The sink was stopped up. Kept hearing a knocking all night long. There was no manager or staff in the building my entire stay. Had to walk 2 flights of steep stairs to get to room. The sure stay is a much better place to stay.

They couldnt pay me and my husband to stay here again. The room had food on the ground when we arrived. The rooms are dirty and need updating. The couch had a hole that was fixed with glue. The bathroom had mold around the shower. I felt gross in this place. The sheets were NOT cleaned, we had to call the manager before bed to change them. There was food crumbs in the sheets from the previous guest. The only good thing was the convenience of being in the middle of town.

The place is great, quite comfortable and quiet for a hotel facing the main avenue. Plenty of space in the room and the balcony had a great view to both the town and the river. A lovely place. The staff was also very friendly. I don't give it 5 stars only because there were few spots that require more maintenance, like a hole in the bathroom's ceiling. But I would definitely stay here again.

This is a GREAT place to stay while visiting Helen! The staff are VERY accommodating and super nice! The rooms are very clean and the decor was homey. You have a choice of a room with a view of the Chattahoochee river or the main strip. We chose the view of the main strip and it was in the center of all the shops. We really enjoyed sitting on our private balcony and watching all the activity down below. We would HIGHLY recommend anyone to stay at the Castle Inn when visiting Helen!
