I've stayed here several times over at least 10 years. It has been going downhill recently. The room is clean and the Direct TV works. Door stop safety device missing. The mattress needs replacing. No shampoo in the room or the entire hotel (the receptionist was great). Next morning, the staff decided not to prepare eggs and sausage, which I have had here before. I was told 'it is not a requirement'.If you are looking for an inexpensive place to sleep, this place is okay. I understand the property is up for sale and I doubt things will get better with the current owner. Just take a look at the pool....

I wish I would have stayed somewhere else! Location wise, it's in a great spot... but the other hotels are also in great spots. We were first issued room 102 -- it smelled like dogs were in there just moments before. Carpet was black from use and non-cleaning. White "moldy" substance all over the curtains and "stuff" inside of the A/C/Heater unit. There was no way in heck I was going to breathe that in, let alone let my little kid do so, who was with us. Next, we got room 106. Compared to the first room, this was a dream with less black carpet and the heater appeared to be debris-free. The attendant in the office was very accommodating, and switched our room without arguing, but it was a pretty gross experience overall. We wanted cheap and cheap it is. Did not try the breakfast... our rationale was if the condition of the room had a lot lacking, then I couldn't trust that the food was prepared with a high standard of food safety. Overall, kinda gross and won't be staying again.

This place is nasty. Its location is great but that s the only positive. This is in a little touristy town but this place feels like it rents rooms by the hour. It was filthy and had mold in the bathroom. The bed felt like it had broken springs. One of the beds actually sloped to the side. The free breakfast was left over from days before. Avoid this place at all costs. I ve trusted the Quality Inn name in the past but no longer.Noteworthy details: Don t stay there!!!

DO NOT BOOK HERE! One of the worst hotels and experiences I've ever walked in to in my life. There is no room like the pics you see online, they are old and worn out. The curtains were falling down. The 4 pillows for the 2 queen beds were just laying in the middle of the bed, not where they should be when made up, and they were yellow from way too many years of use with no pillow cases on them. The comforters looked stained like they had been peed on. The office chair back and arms are all torn and falling apart. No towels in the bathroom. My wife went to the office to check on things and was told they were out of pillowcases and towels. She showed him pics of the pillows and he said they were all they had and even added "I bet it doesn't look like the pics online." Then she realized he was intoxicated and still drinking something from a styrofoam cup. Now we have to call for a refund, you know, because they can't possibly do it right there. Quality needs to shut this hotel down until they can figure out what all needs to be done to bring it up to standards.I see plenty of responses to recent reviews so they know this hotel is a problem and have still not attempted to fix things here. Clearly management has no idea how to run a hotel.Rooms: You'll feel icky just walking in. We were afraid to put our luggage down anywhere

Absolutely one of the nastiest places ever!!!!!Within 15 min of checking we watched a roach crawl across the table. My husband filmed more live roaches and various bugs. We couldn t get a refund for both nights that were booked but they did refund one night. I ve never had a problem with any Quality Inn so I was distraught by this experience. Horrible is putting it nicely!

The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The parking is a little awkward, but it can be over looked. What can t is the room. It was a bit outdated, but that isn t necessarily make or break. The cleanliness, or lack of, is what s causing me to leave the review. Being a Choice employee and former housekeeper, I know how every room should be cleaned and the effort it takes. There was none put into ours. Every mirror in the room was dirty, under the bed was filthy, the surfaces hadn t been wiped off. The grime on the tub is indescribable. Even with my discount I don t feel I got my money s worth. I loved the location and how close it is to everything, but due to the state of the room I don t know that we would stay again.

I think the only good thing about this is the location. We got charged the same as a Hilton we stayed in North Carolina the night before and with all the amenities . The room smelled really bad and weird, same with small fridge. The carpet was a bit disgusting and also the doors were super dirty. I didn t even use comforter since I was skeptical about it . One of the pillow cases had a small stain maybe makeup who knows.

BEWARE!!! BEDBUGS!!! We rented a room here the first weekend of February 2024, and could not stay. Had to leave because of BEDBUGS. They were all over one bed in the room. Several on a pillow that I brought to the office. The attendant was apologetic, and offered to move us to another room on the OTHER SIDE OF THE HOTEL. We went to that room, and there was no heating and air unit. It had been completely removed, but the room was still in service. We were then moved to another room and found BEDBUGS in that one as well. All three rooms were musty and somewhat dilapidated. I did get a refund with no problem, but I would not recommend this hotel to an enemy.

Great location. The ice machine was broken, and the shower reminded me of the one at Ben's family home from the movie "How to lose a guy in 10 days." The hot was cold, the cold was hot and on Sunday morning too many people were using the hot water so there was none. The outside looked like it had been abandoned for months, but the rooms look like they've been upgraded.

***Bed Bugs*** My family and I travel a lot and it s the first time this has happened so I m thankful for that, but I hope it never happens again because it was horrible. The itching and burning was miserable and got me from the waist up. We had to throw away almost everything, not bring anything into our house, strip down at our front door and what we didn t throw away we had to make sure it was all completely disinfected.

Originally stayed in room 108. I thought it was nice when we first looked at it after we checked in, so we left to go do some shopping. Once we were back we decided to lay down, fiance knocked out so he didn't realize it at the time. It wasn't until I was laying down that I seen a BEDBUG crawl in front of my face. I immediately jumped up, woke my fiance and I ran to the front desk. Mind you it was around 11:30pm. I went in there, explained the situation, he understood about it. He acknowledged that there are bed bugs in some rooms but said the GENERAL MANAGER DOESNT believe that they are there. He changed my room for me. I had to leave behind 2 pillows in fear to bringing them with me. The man at the desk that night told me to come in between 7am-4pm the next day as that will be the time the GM will be there. I went in at 9am and the lady said he wouldn't be there until 4pm. So I called at 4pm and she said he wouldn't be there until 7pm! So I asked if he will be there the next day and she said he would be there the entire day. Great. I called then and spoke to him and asked for a refund. He confirmed my phone number, what room I was in, when I checked in. Said he would call me back on that following Monday. What a joke this place is. I'm just going to take the loss of $86.87 and two pillows. DONT GO HERE!!!!Not to mention the non working TV, water damage on ceiling, dirty sheets in new room.Rooms: AWFUL

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The Quality Inn in Helen, GA was the worst hotel ever!!!! My mother has been so excited about coming here for the Christmas parade and spending time with her daughter and granddaughters, but this hotel has almost ruined it. We checked in and got to our room the room was extremely outdated, which we can deal with, but it was also nasty and infested with roaches. My mom spoke to the manager about the room and he informed us that he just got the job a week ago and knows there are roaches but can t do anything about it. He said he could give us a different room so we did that, we were in that room maybe 30 mins and found more roaches, so we went back down there to see if we could get a refund but he couldn t do it his boss would have to and he won t be available until Monday. We paid $120 a night for this place and can t even get our money back to find a different place.Rooms: Nasty and roach infested

Use to like this spot. Mainly for its location. Until this last time I was satisfied with the rooms. But I was literally eaten alive by fleas, possibly bedbugs in room 129. My ankles, legs, wrists, arms, were riddled with bites, lots of bites. Took my clothes and bags to have drycleaned before I got home to avoid an infestation at my house. No longer a recommendation I would give someone for stay in Helen.

This hotel, location is five star. Hot water in shower 5 star but everything else? The gal at front desk was nice but I give 2 for service but the Property is not kept well at all. I understand it s old and I have stayed at older hotel but i never have stayed at place I thought it was filthy and don t want to walk around bare feet. As soon as you enter the room, it smells something chemical to cover the odor of the room, roach is crawling, door doesn t close properly, we don t want to put anything on floor because you feel like roaches will crawl into your shoes or bag. Your socks are BROWN after a while in a room the pictures on this Google Review is very deceiving, they need to be taken off. It is nothing like that picture at all! It really is ran down Quality inn. I can t believe we pay close to 150.00 for this place for one night. I am well travelled, and I am in hospitality industry. I have never stayed at a place like this before and never again. AND we can hear next door s snoring! Speechless. And the roach came to the okra chips I was eating a second after I put it down on night stand!!! Oh my gosh.

DO NOT STAY HERE! If I could give no stars I would. I booked two rooms for two nights at this hotel for my son s birthday because it had a pool. We arrived just before midnight, Friday. The hotel in the photos was not the hotel we arrived at. Double checked and sure enough, we were at the right place. We checked in at the office that is separate from the hotel. Walked across the parking lot and as soon as you hit the stairs you get an idea of what kind of place it is. A liquor store is directly next door so intoxicated people are loitering all hours of the day and night. Got to our rooms and were even more horrified. My parent s room was filthy, had no ac, and smelled of mothballs. The clerk was kind enough to switch their room. It too was dirty, no toilet paper, sink was broken, and toilet had to be plunged after each use. My room had what looked like lube caked on it from someone s hand. Toilet hadn t been cleaned nor the sink or shower. Mold was everywhere. Floors were FILTHY and I m almost positive there were bloodstains on the comforters. We had to stay because there was no where else at the time. I had to try to clean it all before I would let my children lie down. Woke up to toilet water in the floor and roaches crawling. Asked for assistance and was shown two additional rooms that were just as bad. It s out of the clerks hands so it was pointless to make her feel bad about it, but she did mention speaking with the owner on our behalf. Again, nowhere else to go and hours from home. Asked for housekeeping to clean the rooms and it never happened. The icing on the cake, the pool was closed and I had to spend hundreds to keep our party entertained because swimming and slot car racing were the two things my son asked to do on his birthday vacation. I paid $879 to stay two nights here and I ve never been more disgusted in my life. The owner never called to rectify the situation. This location ruined the Quality Inn brand as a whole for me.

I prepaid for 3 nights, 8 months In advance for Oktoberfest to stay at a Roach Motel. When your partner has to say don t look several times a night to kill roaches, and when they scury around when you turn the lights on there s a problem. Beyond the roach issue, there was garbage under the beds and next to the microwave that could ve been picked up from the previous guest easily. As well as not the greatest idea to have a moldy cloth shower curtain in a tub. Be warned if you do stay, do not go barefoot. Our floor was sticky and grimy and you have to get used to the smell of the room.Rooms: Beyond unpleasant.Nearby activities: OktoberfestSafety: Definitely the air was not safe to breathe and the room was unhygienicWalkability: Great Location if you re going to Oktoberfest.Noteworthy details: Moldy shower curtain, roaches, garage in room.

I did one night reservation with big amounts, for 2 queen beds and check in time was 4 pm, I get there by 5 front desk lady said my room is not yet ready and have to wait for at least 2 hours. I spent 1 hour 30 minutes outside and I called the front desk lady said my room is ready. She gave me a room 2nd floor just above the office, later found that was a staff emergency stay room with one king bed. I went back to front desk to explain I booked for 2 queen beds, but she said there is no any room left, if I want to stay then that s the only room. If I leave the hotel they will charge my 60% money of total reservation. The website shows they have outdoor pool but the condition of pool Was horrible, dirty green water about 20% of pool and can hear frogs singing. Bad place, bad service and wrong advertising on website. Try different hotel.

We will never stay at this hotel again!! To give you a clear picture of my husband's and my experience.. picture a place, the only place you could stay that would accept dogs. You put your hard earned money on, really needing to have a comfortable, stress free vacation far away from the city. You were SO excited to get away. You check in, go past a closed pool that your room overlooks (No one even told you the pool was closed when you paid your NON refundable room fee's). The "pool" is almost half full of green, nasty algae water & other scum. There was a man smoking pot right in front and riff raff wandering through the parking lot occasionally. Oh and bullfrog's in the nasty pool every night that croak LOUDLY. All you wanted to do in this incredibly HOT & HUMID HEAT WAVE was cool off every day in the pool. You can't even go tubing because the water is way too low so yeah. REALLY DISAPPOINTED. You check into your room & realize it's filthy. You cannot go barefoot or in socks because your feet & sock's will turn black. You had to throw out one pair already because you realized this too late. You have to get them to change your whole bed to new everything because there are dried blood stains & some unidentifiable brown stuff on them. They advertise a breakfast each morning with egg's, sausage, waffles, cereal & milk breakfast & coffee. You had to wait three hours after you woke up just to have coffee because you didn't have a cup in your room. Then as soon as you get one squirt from the carafe into your cup in the dining area, it is empty & all you have in your cup are watery coffee ground's. You have to ask someone to make some. While waiting, you turn towards the breakfast area hungry & wanting to eat. There is NO sausage, nasty powdered eggs in a warmer where the lid is sitting sideways & half off. The waffles, oh you have to make them yourself BEFORE you've even had any coffee. This place is a complete joke & should honestly be shut down! It is literally falling apart everywhere & filthy. We are simple people. We do however expect a clean, comfy room wherever we stay with stocked room supplies & NO false advertising. It should be EXACTLY as you advertised it. Thanks for ruining our hopes of a nice three day get away Quality Inn of Helen Georgia !!

This was the worst place to stay! They over charged us and still has not made the correction. Floor was dirty, I ended up cleaning it myself. Toilet seat needs to be changed out. No batteries in the TV remote. Had to ask for clean towels. Pool not open. Breakfast selection is a joke, we ate out. No one stays in the office, you have to walk around the property looking for someone to help you. This place needs to be closed

Wow just wow- told at checkin it would be several hours before room was ready. Couldn't cancel reservation. Once we got into the room- hole in the wall, shower in disrepair, shower curtain moldy, no towels, trash hadn't been emptied, room was just overall dirty. Plus side it's within walking distance to the town. Should've read the most recent reviews before booking.

Very short staffed... we were there 4 days, had to get towels from the office.Trash containers out side were over flowing with trash. By the last day we were piling up the trash outside. No where to put anyone trash.I felt bad for the housekeeper, I think she was trying to do everything by herself.Hire more peopleRooms: Rooms were nice, very short staffed.Nearby activities: Many things to do close by

Let s start with the positives:1. Great location! Close to town, shops and restaurants.2. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Now the negatives:1. Outside: The hotel is dingy, dirty and had trash bags next to the main stairs.2. Room: Overall the room was clean with the exception of the toilet. Had to clean it myself. Lighting is awful. We found 5 roaches walking around the room. Bedsheets and comforters smelled clean and had no stains.Hotel definitely needs cleaning, paint and tons of maintenance!

When we first checked in, the first room they gave us was not even cleaned as beds were not made and trash was everywhere, we had to go back to reception desk to get another room, she gave us a different room, turned out the toilet was broken in that room with flusher completely missing and toilet tank's top set upside down on top of it. We had to go back to the reception to get a different room. The receptionist apologized for the inconvenience and this time decided to go check the condition of the room ahead of us. After she came back she assured us that the room was clean and we can go in.At first glance it looked fine, but as I walked into the bathroom, I noticed that the bethroom floor had hair all over it as well as there was a used dirty towel hanging on the back of the restroom door. Also, the tissue box was empty with some trash sticking out of it. I should also mention the mirror had dirty spots on it.When I undone one of the beds, I saw yellow stains on the covers. This hotel is not upto Quality Inn standards, infact, I would rename it "lack of Quality" Inn.

We stayed here about 6 months ago and it was amazing. This time we found out new owners had taken over. It was horrible. We had to switch rooms as the first had dead flies in window sill, toilet not cleaned, floors not vacuumed. As we were switching rooms another couple were leaving as both rooms they tried didn't have working stuff and dirty. We got a freshly cleaned room, only to find the vents full of nasty dust, pink mold around bathroom tub. Thank God for cleaning wipes. Still had flies in window sill. No working ice machines, front desk gave us some from a bag they had the first night, second night they were out. Film in the coffee we brewed in room. Terrible old, thin pool towels were the bath towels. No mattress pad and mattress stained. Only thing nice was the person at the front desk. I hope they change things as the location is stellar for easy access to the town.
