It was a pleasure discovering Hearthstone Cabins and Camping in Helen, GA. A beautiful 8+ acre property nestled about a mile from the city center. The grounds are well kept in a very natural, rustic setting. Liz takes great delight and goes to great lengths to keep it in its most natural state.I have a 35' TT, it was easy to back into my site with full hookups, which about 1/2 of the sites currently have (I understand sewer will be added to the others very soon).Overall it's a magical place to stay while in the area.

We had the absolute best time camping at Hearthstone! Liz was so kind and helpful and she was always available and she always respected our privacy. My wife and I camped in our VW bus and we were more than accommodated for. This is a hidden treasure for sure, so close to the main drag, but far enough away that you can see the stars and hear the wind at night. We will be going back and going back soon!

We had such an AMAZING time at Hearthstone this week. We stayed from Tuesday until today, Sunday. Helen was fun, but Liz and her camp are the reason we would come back. We were in site 08 with full hook-ups. We were able to tour the Cabins and they are AMAZING. Liz has put such heart into how she's decorated her camp. She's hand made the majority of the wooden furniture. She personally takes you to your site and helps back you in (her directions were very clear). Liz is so busy, she's not been able to take pictures of the sites and cabins. The Art Room/Creation Station was a highlight for my kids who spent HOURS there. Camp is a mile from Helen and you get to take a backroad where you won't spend time in traffic. It was such an easy in and out. Camp was literally the perfect locationRooms: Three cabins are so cute!Nearby activities: Helen, hiking, river tubing, gem mining, and the Cabbage Patch Hospital.Safety: It's very remote and felt very safe.Walkability: You are just a mile from Helen, but there are places on the road without a shoulder. I would not walk it.Noteworthy details: The pond has a slide. It was too cold, but there are hammocks all around the property to relax in.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hearthstone! The whole campground is charming and quaint, a far more personable experience than state campgrounds or large RV parks. Beautiful, well maintained grounds, we had no trouble getting our rig in and out of the drive and campsite (we came in off 75ALT). Liz is an awesome host! Dog friendly! Super close to downtown Helen. We hiked so many different trails around the surrounding areas access to a lot of things! We really enjoyed our stay. We didn t stay in the cabins but they look incredibly enchanting. Highly recommend Hearthstone it exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the cabin . It is really just a house on the property, but it was clean and well-appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed and the full-size Blacktone was a bonus. The beds were a little hard for my taste. The lights in the kitchen and bathrooms are automatic so I had to wave my arms around while dressing and showering as the lights go off frequently. I couldn t figure out a work-around and did not ask. Also the bathrooms have automatic water faucets which makes it very challenging to control the temperature of the water. The host was very kind and hospitable. They do not allow access to the laundry which was a little inconvenient as we were there for 4 nights and 5 days and would have liked to launder our towels. She did bring more when we asked, but I just hated to ask. Had we had a baby with us, that would have been a deal breaker. Overall the property was nice. The RV sites looked a little challenging and we are very glad we decided not to bring our camper.

Hearthstone campground was amazing all around. Service is top notch and the owner is readily available by phone or texts which was very convenient. She was flexible with my family as we were both using RV and a tent, the buddy site was a perfect compromise. Highly recommend. Less than a mile from the Main St of Helen, Ga. Will definitely be back.Noteworthy details: Helen, wineries, and great hiking trails close by. Including views of waterfalls. Great location. Hot SHOWERS on site, usually skip showers during my tent stays but it was so nice to have a hot shower to utilize.

We stayed here last week for almost 3 weeks. We have a 32 class A and had no problems getting in or out. The campground host Liz was/is amazing and takes great pride and care of this beautiful campground. She gave us pointers and suggestions of where to go and things to do. (There is tubing, hiking, zip-lining and tons of restaurants and taverns.). The walk to Helen was beautiful - a couple hills were a nice workout but nothing too difficult. We also made the 5-10 minute electric bike ride into town several times! If you are looking for somewhere to stay in a tent, travel trailer, RV, or one of their cabins, this is THE place to stay!! We loved this campground and will be back! Thanks for the wonderful experience!Nearby activities: Tubing, hiking, zip-lining, winery tours, all nearby and downtown Helen is about a mile from the campground. We got to experience the soft opening of Oktoberfest and the parade.Safety: Left our electric bikes outside and unlocked - never once worried about them. The campers were friendly and we enjoyed talking with them.

Great campsite! It s clean & a very cozy. The showers were over expectation, clean & the heat feature sold me immediately. Lizz I believe her name is, the owner, is very friendly & is very involved & hella accommodating. She s invested in everyone having a great experience & even gave us an impromptu tour of a couple of the cabins for future visits. We were lucky to have a sister campsite, RV + tent but def want to bring more family. I love the campsite is close to so many hiking & waterfall options & of course Helen a minute down the road. 100% recommend based on my & families shared experience.

It was very difficult from the beginning to even reserve a campsite; we left numerous messages and finally got a response from the owner. We asked to reserve a particular campsite that said it would hold 3 to 4 tents and two cars; we had three couples staying there. The pictures of the site on the website made the actual site look much bigger with a very long driveway. Nowhere on the site did it say it was a three night minimum since we were going during Oktoberfest. We ended up paying for a third night just to be able to reserve the place for two nights. The campsite was very pricey at $100 a night with no water, no picnic table or tent pole, nor a bear proof container. There was a small fire pit but no grate to cook on. When we got to the campsite, it took the owner quite a while to take us around to show us where the site was (nothing is marked so you have to take the owner in your car to find your site). She was not overly friendly. The site we had reserved would never fit our tents since they weren t tiny little one-man tents. She said that she would give us the larger campsite which was right next to it for a $10 a night upgrade since the family had canceled at the last minute. I reminded her that we had already paid an extra hundred dollars just to stay for two nights but she still charged my card the $30 upgrade fee. Our three tents barely fit on the campsite and we had to park one of our cars in a different location since it wouldn t even fit on the campsite area. There was a pond down the road; it was a very scary looking thing that I would never ever let my children or myself play in, there were out houses that were relatively clean, but the shower house was something I also would never ever want to step foot in. We are seasoned campers and don t expect luxury but this campground was too expensive for what was actually there. Overall, we felt that the website for the camping area did not truly represent what was available at the campsite.

Can't review the campground site because we weren't able to make it.. Nice worker when I did get to talk to them but once I had to cancel my reservation, all communication was left unanswered. Voice-mails to return my call & texts to the number were completely ignored even though it's the number you are told to text. No common courtesy.. Will not book here again.

We stayed at a campsite here for the weekend during Oktoberfest in Helen. It was SO FUN! Liz & The Heartstone team were so accommodating, the showers are actually really nice here, and the campsites are super serene. Such a beautiful weekend, we will be back!Nearby activities: So many fun things to do in Helen/surrounding areas!Walkability: Quick walk to downtown Helen, no driving needed (especially during Oktoberfest)

What a great time and atmosphere there. The cabin we rented was super cozy and quaint. If I had any knock it would be the auto on/off faucets and lights. While great in theory, it made putting toothpaste on the brush combersome lol! Or taking a shower longer than 4 minutes. But we are 100% going back next year. Liz and her crew are awesome.

The location is great if you want to explore Helen, GA and surrounding areas. If you like a sense of community while camping, this may be the place for you as the car camping & RV spots are extremely close together. Like immediately adjacent, a few feet apart. We prefer a bit more solitude and quiet. We had the furthest car camping site (TC FC) which was set off apart but was down a steep dirt road of loose gravel and cobbles. The trade off for some privacy was that the shower house and porta-potties were a steep hike up. Many of the tent camping areas were small and were dug out from along the side of the dirt road, so there was room for a tent and little else (and another neighboring tent site a few feet away). We had a 6 person tent and had only about 2 feet of space around it on 3 sides. We like to put up hammocks to relax in, and there was no room to do so unfortunately. It just wasn't our vibe, so we ended up leaving early. Note that I was surprised and happy not to see any poison ivy around our campsite.

My fiancee and I decided to take a quick trip to Helen. Liz sent us great directions that led us straight there. She hopped in the 4runner with us and gave us a tour of the property and amenities. We picked a campsite overlooking the spring-fed pond after she showed us a few and different plots and we slept great. Cannot suggest this place enough. Will definitely be using again.

just an FYI the single tent camps are super cozy and they mean it we ended up upgrading due to plans changing and the host was very accommodating. the campground was beautiful! well maintained and they have a beautiful light show at the top of the hill and the crafting area was super cute. I love that they have hammocks everywhere! you really get that back-in-nature feeling that some campsites lose. it's super close to Helen just a 4 min drive which was wonderful to walk around at. there are only portapotties for toilets which my crew didn't mind but they do have hot showers and the shower house keeps the whimsical cottage core feel. they don't have picnic tables at the tent, so if you need a table, bring a fold-out! we loved our stay so much that we hope to be back soon! I love their little beach at the pond they have set up and they also have a tire swing that our little really enjoyed.

Website does not clearly describe the park. Only one way in and out and no turn around space.. Portapotty and some showers down some steep hills. Had to back out 450 feet to get back on the road down there narrow one lane road to the main road to drive a mile down to a turn around spot so that we could back in 250 feet into our spot. All this for $60 a night. Water and electric but no sewer or dumping available. On a good note the camp host very helpful.

The host met us as soon as we drove onto the property and she even jumped on the back of our jeep and road down to show us exactly where we were staying. She was very helpful with recs. They even have a little arts and crafts station for kiddos to leave their mark before they leave. It s super close to downtown Helen where all of the shopping, eating, tubing, and other activities are but also has the feel of being out on the middle of no where. So you can be as primitive or as close to town as you want.

Great Place to Visit Helen GeorgiaAlthough the Park is only a few minutes away from downtown Helen, it s in a beautiful nature setting right up in the mountain. The host Elizabeth is an amazing Lady who takes very well care of her guests and the park itself. We stayed in a motor home but looked at the very nicely decorated cabinswhich we would highly recommend to anybody without an RV.

We love this campground in Helen! This was our 2nd time staying here and the host (Liz) is always so kind and hospitable. Upon arrival, she drives you around in the golf cart and shows you the whole place. We had a nice and level spot that easily fit our 36 ft Class A Motorhome. We had our own fire pit and hammock plus Liz graciously gave us some firewood as we did not bring any. The kids love the art shed and created several projects while we were there. It s close enough to town that we walked. Great memories with the family at this campground. Highly recommend!

Just wrapped up a short 3 night visit. Loved this little camp ground. We were greeted by a great host and a happy hound dog. The host was so nice and excited about the camp ground, showed us around when we got there. Gave us some recommendations and things to do while here. We loved the outdoor space and the arts and crafts spot. Our site had a cute little fairy garden that my little one was so excited to contribute to. This will definitely be a spot we come back to!

I read through many of the reviews here and there isn't much I can add that hasn't already been said. Amazing campground about a mile from town, but you will feel like you're further away. On top of the beautiful location is the beautiful owner/manager, Liz! We felt welcomed from the moment we met her. A more lovely person you would be hard pressed to find.Even our neighbor was super sweet! Thanks Hearthstone for hosting us, we enjoyed staying with you.Hope you find a home for the pup!Jean, Andy & Mazy

This charming little campground was wonderful and had so much to offer. We have a big rig and Liz was amazing helping us get in and out with ease. The kids loved all neat things the campground has to offer. Creative station, natural springs and so many trails to hike and explore. The location can not be more convenient to town. We wish we could have extended our stay but we will be back for sure..

Liz was very accommodating and friendly, she wants everyone to have a great time and be comfortable. I drive a small car and it sits low to the ground and I had no trouble getting in and out.
