Don t check in after dark. I didn t arrive in town until 10pm. I had to wait 20 mins outside ringing the doorbell. After riding around the building and finding the employee on shift, I had a quick check in. Only recommendation I have is to have a better check in system for those looking to rent a room later at night. Other than that, 5 stars.

Wound up not staying due to 3rd party not having correct info & after sitting and watching them clean the room at 6:30pm when checking in we decided it was a little sketchy and drove an hour away just to not have that be the place we stayed. I would not stay unless the owners/Corporate actually took a look and actually cared about it's customers and clients and fixed it.

The most filthiest hotel I ve ever been to. The manager failed to provide a continental breakfast which was included in the price. The lobby was very dirty with food left on the floor and the tables weren t wiped down. We discovered blood sugar strips left on the mattresses. There was stains and hair on the sheets. And the manager acted like he could have cared less when it all was brought to his attention. He then made it difficult to receive a refund.

The desk clerk first tried to put us in a room that was smoked filled and had hard floors. He said because we had a dog. I told him the "dog" was my sister's service animal and that he does not need hats floors and we can't take the smoky room. He moved us to another room- non-smoking and carpeted. It was a much nicer room. I thanked him for that and his attitude did seem better. "Breakfast" was dismal; thank goodness for the yogurt. On a bright side, the location of the hotel is good - at the end of town and was quite.

Definitely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Bugs inside room. Cigarette burns on everything and white stains on the paper thin blanket. The breakfast was only cereal, the manager was too lazy to put out waffle mix, the drink cups were gone. The hot tub was not hot and the indoor pool was closed for the season even though it s indoors. Pool also had a dead mouse floating in the water. Hot tub had mud all over the area around it. Doorway to room had huge holes to the outside which explains the mice and bugs. The neighbors can be heard talking, baby crying all through the night and place had a very old cigarette and mold smell. We all woke up snotty and wheezing. The ceiling was filthy covered with cobwebs. The towels and bedding had stains, holes and previous guests hair on them. Really the only good thing I can say about Budgetell Bugatell is the TV size, but even that had connection issues and no movie channels. HARD PASS.

DO NOT STAY HERE NO MATTER WHAT!BLOOD STAIN, BEDBUG/ANT INFESTED!!!It is ants/bedbug-infested!We stayed here at the very last minute. At every hotel, inn, or motel I stay at I always rip the sheet off and there was BLOOD AND PEE STAIN !!!I have stayed at last minute hotel before and never had this kind of issue.Me and my brother got 2 full-size beds and they were both covered in stains!I immediately went downstairs and showed them the pictures and gladly the front office gentlemen gave us another room with no hesitation. All that happened was room 215He then sent us to room 211. I did the same thing with room #2 (room 211)and ripped off the cover... Once again PEE STAINS! They called the housekeeper over and changed the sheets. When they changed the sheets I knew the color of the mattresses was black and I didn't think anything about it at first until the next morning.My poor niece and I were bitten up and down! Since the mattress was black there were bedbugs and ants all over the best!!!I went down to the office again and asked for a refund or even half. I was speaking to one of the employees who were there but the owner was out of town.He said he was unable to do anything since the owner wasn't there.Again, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

Booked specifically for hot tub and location. Got there,outside was dirty and run down. Pool and hot tub broken. No breakfast offered either. Room was gross and dirtyRooms: Dirty,smelly and gross. Bugs, food, dirty panties behind tv stand. Also behind night stand. Room was not clean. Slept on top of covers with jacket as blanket. I asked for refund but nothing. Only two towels in room. No breakfast offered. I was scared staying here.I wanted at least something taken off bill for all the false advertising but all I got was sick by morning and bites on me Like bug bites would not recommend. Manager was not around at 9am when I went to speak to him again about discounting room. Dropped keys in lock box and left..Hoping owner will refund at least part of money but not holding my breathSafety: I did not feel safe. Even manager made me uneasy because he kept flirting even after you could tell it made me uncomfortable. I decided to grab some food before checking room. I found out they had dropped price to $55.00. I wanted an adjustment on my bill but manager refused. Told me to follow him, I was very nervous. He gave ne a room with spa tub but room was dirty and gross. Bugs and food as well as little girl panties left behind tv dresser. More bugs behind night stand...I felt very unsafe

Rude manager, faulty doors, it's not worth it!My group was double charged and the refund wasn't done in front of us, we didn't get any proof that it happened only were told that we would have the money 2 days later. 5 days went by, we had to comeback to Helen to ask for a proof of some kind of refund since we still didn't have the money in our accounts. The manager was BEYOND RUDE and was now saying it could take up-to 3 weeks to get the money back, and send us off, refusing to give us yet again proof of refund and said "I'll send you and email SOMETIME today". Still waiting.Also 2 out of the 3 rooms we had had door issues. Ours didn't open with the keys they gave us, we relied on the lovely housekeeping staff to open it for us. And the other could only be open from the outside, which is a major security risk.The only good thing I have to say is about the water pressure. That should say something.

I told clerk that reserved the room that we relocated from Red Roof because of better pool and hot tub. Clerk told me reservation was made and we could check in at 3pm. When we went to check in at 3 Hot tub was drained and out of service until next next weekend. We checked in anyway for pool. Pool was closed the next day. The lobby never opened for breakfast ND there was no hot water in the room. The door lock stuck and you had the shoulder but the door to get it open. The place sucked.

BEDBUG INFESTATIONDisliked � BEDBUG INFESTATION!!! DO NOT GO HERE!There are so many things I can say about how horrible our experience was. The first room we were out in didn't have a toilet seat on the toilet. When we asked to be put in another room, the manager acted like it was an inconvenience rather than being apologetic. The entire place REEKED of marijuana & was filthy. We were still willing to make the best of our stay with that, & more.. but then I happened to lift the box spring skirt and saw plain as day BED BUGS. Terrible experience that totally ruined my family getaway

We had a large group and reached out to this hotel for a block of rooms. The owner was VERY kind and professional, offering us a great price and letting us check in an hour early when our plans changed. At first I was worried that Budgetel was too far from the center of town, but the front desk gentlemen led me to a great sidewalk parallel to the river behind the hotel that led us on a quiet, lovely walk to multiple restaurants and shops. The breakfast didn't offer any protein besides stale milk, but there was a huge variety of packaged pastries and cereal. A major plus was the hot tub and indoor pool. The rooms were clean and offered refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers. We would stay here again for sure, and especially appreciate the kindness of the owner for working with us.

Be ware. Do not stay here. Bedbugs, ants, left over undies etc. One of the worst Hotels I have ever stayed. I could write a book about this place. I agree with the previous comment left, you'd be better off sleeping in your car. Trip Advisor should not even have this Hotel on their web site.

I actually have never written a review on a hotel before, but traveling with three children by myself has prompted me to hope this helps someone else.I made the original transaction on Priceline, so you can understand my confusion when I was told they were trying several times to charge my card again (was was declined). The employee at the desk asked for help from some guy in the back several times, whom never came to the front. She eventually just had me sign a receipt with the incorrect amount.The room, at first, seems clean enough. I anticipate a certain amount wear and tearin an old motel that access is all outside. However, it did smell like smoke and the bedding had burn holes. The shower curtain was moldy and there was not any hot water for our 2-day stay. I never saw bed bugs (I honestly was too frightened to investigate) but there were annoying gnats.The kids wanted an indoor pool, but unfortunately the pool was HOT and the hot tub was COLD. We only were able to swim for a few minutes before the kids were sweating in the pool.The biggest disappointment, there wasn t any free wi-fi the entire stay. And unfortunately, the TV also ran on wi-fi, so we were left to our own devices at night. I was told it was because of the weather it slightly rained the evening we got there, but it was beautiful the rest of the time. I hate that I paid almost $200. For an extra $18 I could ve stayed within walking distance of the everything and probably had internet.Rooms: Expected wear and tear and pests from outside access doors.Nearby activities: It s the furthest hotel from the in town activities. Not recommended to walk from.Safety: There s an addition top stopper on the door and one dead bolt for the lock. After the first night my key-card didn t work and forced me to return to the office (which the man had to unlock to let me in). Not exactly the situation I wanted to be in with three children waiting in my vehicle.Walkability: Not recommended to walk. People are speeding down the road entering the town and this note is furthest from the activities.

I don t care if it s the only place to stay in Helen, sleep in your car.DO NOT STAY HERE. Staff was incredibly rude and have to fight tooth and nail for your refund that they messed up on. Our door was able to be unlocked and opened by anyone from the outside. But we could not open the door from the inside. Super dangerous if there was a fire or if someone wanted to steal our things while we re gone. They tried to play it off like it was nothing and took 4 hours to get us a new room.Also BEDBUGS.

Last minute choice due to availability on Saturday, June 17, 2023...pics on website are very deceiving... place looked sketchy upon arrival but it was approaching midnight and it was stay or go home... room 223 was a bit cringy, toilet wouldn't flush, ac unit did not work..at all and worst of all They Have Bed Bugs !? Told front desk and it was discovered while complaining about the ac.. he played surprised over the phone but in person his face says he knew. Didn't see these other bed bug and cleanliness complaints until afterwards. Decided to drive home 3.5 hours away instead of bothering with anywhere else after that experience . Never experienced anything like that... EVERRR.. not to that extent. Still waiting on a refund!!! NEED that back ASAP! This place needs to be reported and is desperately in need of a deep cleaning/sanitation! Sorry for the quick pics, both beds had them but we did not want to spend another second in that room risking them transferring onto us.

I booked a room here the night before. Got there, tried to check in, but the manager wouldn t let me check in since I wasn t 21, because it was a law in Helen. I looked everywhere in the Helen ordinances and it says nothing about having to be 21 to book a hotel. I can t get my money back since the hotel has a 2 day cancellation policy even though I booked it 12 hours before I got there.

Stayed Saturday night in room 210 it was horrible woke up to bed bugs biting us. Took showers then slept in car. The pool was to warm for summertime. Been here several times with no problems but after this stay will never go back to this hotel

The guy at the front desk was fantastic! My husband accidentally booked a smoking room luckily the front desk was able to get us a non-smoking room. Our new room was great.Nearby activities: It is about a mile from Helen, wouldn t recommend walking, there is no sidewalk for most of the walk. Helen has plenty of parking, restaurants, shops, mountain coaster etc.

This facility is in dire need of a good cleaning and maintenance check. Mold in bathroom, holes in walls, stained bed covers, hair on sheets, pitiful breakfast even for "continental" standards. We departed before the end of our pre-paid stay and of course, no refund for remaining night. So many better choices available and for little more money or the same.

Immediately after arriving we noticed how nasty our bed spreads were, so i went to the front office where the staff was very nice and asked for new ones. House keeping had only put 1 towel and 1 wash cloth in our room, so i had to get more upon arrival. The breakfast area was horribly nasty. Was not cleaned the 2 days we were there. The ice machine did not work, so there was no ice available at this hotel. The hot tub was not hot. The pool was nice. The beds are not comfortable in the least. I feel management and housekeeping should have a serious discussion about cleaning at this hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying.

I give this hotel a 1 star mostly because it's next to a water treatment plant. The smell was disgusting once we stepped out of our room or got out of our car. Terrible place to put a hotel. The blankets were so thin and dinky and weren't comfortable at all. The beds were so stiff it felt like I was sleeping on a box spring. The cleanliness was okay except for there being crumbs and goldfish crackers under the AC unit. The pool and hot tub didn't have a closing time listed on the lamanated paper in our room so when we went it was closed. And the continental breakfast was a joke. Almost cleaned out, a whole family was cutting in line and hogging the waffle maker, the coffee cups we're dumb with no tops so lots of spillage. Would not recommend EVER.

There were 3 flying beetles and two spiders seen within the first hour of staying here. The pool and hot tub are stationed directly in front of the lobby with a huge glass window so if you plan on using the amenities I hope you like being stared at by staff and any strangers that are being checked in. There are so many spiderwebs on the upstairs floor the place could be used as a Disney Halloween movie set.

We had the best time super clean room and the manager was super helpful and nice...but we noticed tiny rust spots on sheets but chalked it up to old stains that wouldnt come out! We came home Sunday and Monday morning had bug bug bites all over us! Called and reported and was told sorry we didnt know which we didnt either obviously. It would have been nice to recieve a refund or partial refund due to this issue and it made right!

After reading reviews I was sceptical but this hotel was great for us! The indoor heated pool was amazing. Loved the hot tub. I actually got sick and we missed our first day of check in but the manager Chris went out of his way to make sure we had accommodations that worked for us. The waffles for breakfast were a great start to the day. I saw people complaining of bugs but we had three rooms and did not have any issues with bugs at all. Also I would like to add the Moniqa and Enrique were absolutely delightful and helpful getting our rooms ready in a speedy fashion!
