We were in town for a night. The staff was nice. The room smelled of old cigarettes, the sink and bathroom were not cleaned throughly as hair was left on the toilet tank, in the sink, and on shower wall. The sleeping area was clean, though the beds are not that comfortable. Overall if you're in a last minute situation and need a room for 1 night it's decent, however I would want better accommodations for any longer stay.

The rooms are filthy. Smells like stale cigarettes and there were visible handprints on the headboard. The lampshade was torn and stained, and for some reason the lighting inside reminded me of an abandoned gas station. To make matters worse, we woke to a BEDBUG actively feasting on myself. I thought I took proper precaution, but unfortunately they will be hiding even if you check under the mattress and sheets. Notified the man at the front desk, but was met with apathy instead. This is the most disgusting place I have ever stayed at. Warning to all

Our room was filthy. The floor was sticky, there was mold and mildew in the bathroom, and there was a cigarette hole burned in both bedspreads. There was no blanket on the bed so you could only sleep under the sheet and bedspread, which is unlikely to have been washed between guests. There was also no security latch on the door and clear damage to the door frame from the door having been forced open at some point.We were extremely disappointed. We do not need a fancy hotel and were not expecting one. However we do expect a clean and safeplace to sleep. We will not return and do not recommend this hotel.

The room was disgusting!! Hair on the wall of the bathroom, toilet wouldn t flush properly so they had a nasty plunger in there, the tub itself had mold and was filthy. The air never worked, one of the very few lights didn t work. Only plus was the lady up front when we checked in was sweet. No offer was made to make this right.Rooms: Horrible

We had a group & enjoyed our stay; this is a very basic, bed & bathroom hotel, but the location within walking distance to town makes it a great choice. Breakfast was waffles or microwave sausage biscuits; but if you love a good breakfast, Dottie's is straight across the road and awesome! For the price it's a good choice and the manager was very nice.

Manager is a valuable asset to this hotel. Very friendly and helped a lot. Great price for the location. Had alittle problems but the manager helped the best he could. The cleaning crew did give us dirty towels and they could clean better. The ac had no filter and the coils were dirty, but the manager was fast to give me clean towels and tried to fix everything. Couldn't lock the door with the extra locks but i was the first to report it. Needs new furniture. Some updating and it would be better. Great for the price and location. Coffee was excellent.Rooms: Could use some updating but overall great size. Bed worked but could be more comfortable.Walkability: Not far from downtown or everything around.Food & drinks: Everything near by is great

We have never stayed in such a terrible hotel. The room was not clean at all, there were stains all over the furniture, it smelled like cigarette smoke, the shower walls had hair on them, toilet ran and while showering the water went to scalding hot, the bathroom vanity was pulling away from the wall, the breakfast was a joke. This hotel was so bad that I was afraid I would walk away with something. Whoever owns this hotel needs to reinvest money into remodeling this place. There are shady characters hanging in the parking lot smoking pot. Run away from this hotel and don't look back. I wish I could give this place zero stars!

My husband and I reserved the king jacuzzi room because it was our anniversary and my birthday. Usually we go to the beach just tried Helen this year instead. Our stay more than wonderful it was everything I hoped it would be. Chris is an absolutely down to earth genuinely great guy. The hot tub was huge and worked terrific the pool was clean and open. The staff was on point. My room was very large and very clean everything was provided that should ve been as far as toiletries. My bed was very comfortable with crisp clean sheets , cozy comforter. Plenty of pillows all soft and fluffy. Parking was easy access and plentiful. Couldn t have been more please thanks you guys for making my anniversary everything I wanted it to be. The guy at the front desk is incredible!!!He is super friendly and made sure I was taken care of during my stay here. My room was spotless and I really appreciated there always being a front desk employee in case I needed anything. Room was very clean and I look foward to staying here on my next trip to Helen.

There are no real cons with this place. It's not fancy but it's nice. The beds are comfy and the employees can't be beat. The location is positively perfect! There is even a Dollar General open to 11pm just around the corner should you forget an essential item or two.Even as I type this, the motel is remodeling, so your experience will no doubt be even better than mine but I am not complaining. I definitely recommend a stay here.

We arrived around 530 pm. The gentleman at the desk was very pleasant. The hotel itself is not modern but the room was clean and it was quiet the three nights we stayed. Originally we booked for 4 days but for personal reasons had to head home a day early. He refunded one night's stay and informed me that he had refunded a discount of $72 that I was suppose to have gotten thru my American Express reservation. I was very kind of him. The breakfast lacking but we didn't mind, no problem.Overall it was a good stay.

Just Don't!!!! It is nasty and stinks! Blood stain & bleach stain on the blanket(at least I hope it was bleach). Rust and rust stains on the lamp. Tub was dirty, water turned black as it hit the mat. Shower curtain had several stains. Oh and the bed was so hard and uncomfortable you might as well sleep on the floor.Sounded like the people above us were going to fall through the ceiling. Oh and if a surrounding room took a shower you could hear it very loudly! Horrible!!!!

Not the worst, but pretty close to being a total dump. Room smelled funny, cigarette burns on blankets, bed is pretty worn out, and they clearly use it for weekly rentals/ people live there. This was especially upsetting since they charge $300 a night on weekends. It's a $50 a night hotel. It's walkable to everything, but I'd rather Uber a ridiculous distance to stay in even a mediocre hotel. I am hearing that this is pretty common for all hotels in Helen and the home sharing rentals too. I will be bringing a DD or spend that extra $100 to go to the next town.

I got two smoking rooms from Thursday to Saturday. The rooms were great, staff were really nice, pool was great, everything wasin walking distance, i never once started my car until we left. This is our one time vacation a year and once a year i get to see my mom and yall made everything go smoothly. Thanks you so much but the best thing was the Jot Water WE LOVED IT!

The staff was great, friendly and kind.However, the beds were too small for full size adults, the AC/heating unit was outdated, things were falling off the walls in the bathroom, the bathtub wouldn't drain, the hot water in the shower was inconsistent. Overall, not a very well maintained hotel. Would have been nice to have had a designated smoking area away from the rooms.

I usually read reviews before booking but my husband booked instead. I definitely won't stay again. The bed was uncomfortable with a dip in the middle. The floor was uneven. Looks like they paint to cover up instead of fixing. Roaches in the plug ins. Smelled like old smoke. Knobs we're off the heater. The staff was semi friendly. Both times checking in and out the lady was on her cell phone.

Unfortunately, our stay here was not pleasant. We paid $160 to stay for a night and saw about 7-10 small cockroaches on both beds. Additionally, one of the knobs on the air conditioner in the room was missing, which made it so that we could not adjust the temperature of the room at all. And finally, the smell of stale cigarette smoke in the room was overwhelming.When I checked out, I shared the information about the cockroaches with the employee at the front desk, and she did not seem surprised or concerned at all, so it seems like they are aware of these issues and just don t care. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Otherwise, I would definitely avoid staying here.

In one word"Disgusting"Rooms with bad smell of wet and smoke.Sheets with blood and hair of last guest.Wet armchairs.Damaged air conditioner.Receptionist with casual and dirty clothes with tattoos.Bad yard and parking with dust and sand everywhere.No maintenance or facilitiesNo room service.No reception after 7 o'clock.

I gave 1 star which they didn't deserve but they don't have a 0 star available. We had to wait for the desk clerk to return from shopping to check us in. The room had roaches and we were bitten up by bedbugs which left me covered in welts. We complained about the bugs and they moved us to another room that was just as bad. The beds were very uncomfortable. The breakfast was horrible. Spend the extra money and stay elsewhere you'll be glad you did.

Awesome prices. Smells like smoke, bugs, trash outside, swamp pool...unusable, bed was comfortable. Sprayed room with bug spray before sleeping. Wasn't brave enough to try breakfast. Air worked and shower got hot hot hot when someone flushed their toilet. Within walking distance of everything. Read your receipt. You only have 15 minutes to raise concern.

The front desk staff was very polite and welcoming. However the room was horrible. The water didnt get warm enough to resolve formula for a bottle, let alone take a shower. The coffee pot didnt work. The bed was hard as a rock, but pillows were comfy. But the worst part is we had cockroaches in our room. If it hadnt of been non refundable we would of gotten a refund and went elsewhere, I'll never stay here again.

We recently stayed there the first room had a pot smell to it the second room wasn t as bad but bathroom had a smell to it ! I would say that the hotel needs to have no smoking rooms ! The coffee pot was missing ! The staff at night was not dressed professionally wore a tank top and no shoes My boyfriend decided not to stay another night !When I checked out they did refund my second night which was very cool !I would say the hotel needs a remodel and make the hotel a non smoking hotel and designate a spot for smokers ! I am not one to complain but I feel the hotel should address these issues On a positive note the hotel was in a good location!!
