I had the best experience with Gowen's. Kristie was honest, courteous, knowledgeable, and truly cared about me needing repairs after Precision Tune Auto Care's negligence. Kristie rapidly issued me an upfront estimate of repairs and was able to have the repairs done in a timely manner. Kristie kept me in the loop with an open line of communication at all times. I am forever grateful for the staff at Gowen's and will strongly recommend them to all my family and friends.

This place is horrible! Bad communication and they are extremely high! It took them 2 weeks to do break and rotators for which they charged me 1200 plus not to mention I had just paid the $1314.17 for an oil leak that was not repaired correctly so my car is still leaking ! They did my back break and messed up the parking breaks so I had to take it back! Do not go here run! I m now in the process of taking them to court see you soon !

Shop is honest and good. Will tell you the price and that will be the price. Work is done well with no issues or problems. I ve been using since 2000. Gowen has made it possible for me to drive safe and long for years. They have worked on all my cars, including my 1991 Mazda truck, Volvo and my BMW. This place is were i will continue to get my major repairs done on my 1992 ford Bronco. I did my research and spoke with a lot of mechanics and most of the mechanics I spoke with said they couldn't work on my vehicle because the age and that they can't put it on a computer to tell them what's wrong. Now I'm not a rocket scientist but a mechanic that needs a computer to tell them what's wrong with this age vehicle I do not want you working on my vehicle. Look I do all of the work on my vehicle I haven't had to take my truck to a shop as far as I could remember. I only take my truck to the shop when it exceeds my knowledge. Having said this Gowen's did a great job on my truck and I do recommend. If you should aquire there business tell'em Leon Glass sent you!

Took my car for back breaks. Job should have cost $220 or less according to even the dealership this crook charged me $336!! Never trust this place again and will let everyone know it!!

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO GOWENS! We had our GMC Acadia towed there on February 20th after my partner spoke with I would assume Barbara the following week. My partner was told that they were swomped and to have it brough there the 20th for them to get it in to take a look as that would give them time to get some of the vehicles that had there at the time worked on and out of the way. I get a call Monday morning asking if I was sure Gowens was the destination in which I wanted the Acadia towed to. I ensured her yes and reminded her of the conversation she had with my partner. I was then told that they were very busy and would get to our truck when they could. At that time, I was frusted but understood and proceeded to be empathetic. We received calls stating that our truck was being looked at when it wasn't, calls stating that the electrical specialist was there looking at our truck and wasn't, calls insisting that our truck was dropped off over night, which it hadn't been, they lost the key to our truck. Once the specialist was actually there to look at the issues with our Acadia, we never once received a follow up to go over said issues. We live over an hour away, but once my partner received a call that it was ready for pickup she wanted to be sure to pick it up asap. She drove to Atlanta to a friend's and had her friend drop her off at Gowens to pick up the Acadia. After her friend left, she then discovered that the wipers werent working. It's pouring out, so there is no way she can start her journey home. She is currently stranded over an hour from home and was told all the mechanics had left for the day. I am inclined to be more patient and understanding when it comes to one or two mistakes, but overall, the headache and stress that came along with using Gowens services is more than it should have been!Service: Electrical

I'm a retired Automotive technician, I've traded with Gowen's for the past 20 years, anything that I run into that I can't take care of I take it to them, fast friendly service, I think they give a higher level of service than any dealer! And it doesn't matter what year model it is, to my knowledge!

My experience was Excellent. I was waited on promptly upon arrival. Chad handle the service B work needed on my S550 and it was properly done. I drove the car out of town over the weekend and had no problems. My car was ready when promised and I was kept in the loop about what work was needed and cost. Love, love this business and would recommend to others.

I went to this auto shop because they had good reviews. I left my car on Monday 7:00 in the morning and didn't get it back until 3:30 Wednesday evening. Once I call to get my car back they hadn't done any work to it at all so they basically had my car for 3 days and convincing me. The day I called to get my car back I told them if they hadn't fixed the transmission don't worry about it I'll just pay for the oil change and be on my way to which the guy that answered the phone responded they hadn't even done the oil change. I get my vehicle back my vent was busted, I have a scuff mark above my driver tire, the lid was left open on my windshield wiper fluid and I have oil placed in my coolant reservoir and my fan was unscrewed from my radiator which shouldn't have been touched because they weren't doing the work on it. I now have to come out of pocket $500 plus to get the oil out of my coolant and to go ahead and have my transmission flush like they were supposed to have done. I also have to replace the tubings around my engine because the oil has caused them to swell and I see all sitting on top of them. I will not be going back to these people and I do not recommend that anybody especially a female go over there to get work done. The people are nice but the work quality is s*****.Services: Transmission repair, Oil change

I called to price a catalytic converter and Chad answered the phone, after informing him that I was calling different locations for prices he took his time not only giving me the information I requested he also told me about the part and the actual labor needed to fulfill the service. He stayed on the phone with me for nearly 10 minutes explaining everything, it was the most information anyone had given me about my car so, I decided to take my car to them for the service. I dropped my car off Wednesday morning and was called Thursday afternoon to tell me my car was ready for pickup. My car drives great and I'm super happy with the service I received. Definitely made a loyal customer out of me.

Barbara aka MOM was THE 1st sign that I came to a great establishment. Well the atmosphere was warm and EVERYONE was welcoming. Fast forward major issues with my vehicle yet CHAD was super detailed and worked on items that actually resolved some other issues. Super impressed. Costs well just say I was so pleased with services I offered CHAD lunch. Few more things to work on and GOWANS will be my GO TO service repair destination. They explain and provide itemized invoices. Honest and transparent people work here. I appreciate their kindness and patience. This place has amazing customer service that's rare to find here in South Fulton. I went to Gowen's to have my car's side mirror repaired and the results look great! Great family owned and operated business. Have been getting my cars repaired here for a few years now and am always satisfied with the work as well as the service. The heater in my wife's car stopped working on the coldest day of the year. Dropped it off Friday morning was done by 4 when it should have taken 2 days....but they always get me in and out quickly and for an honest price.This is the ONLY garage I have ever used that sticks to the estimate even if other small issues pop up. Final charge was less than estimate. Good parts good price ...Great service and great staff.Thank you Gowens

Every person is absolutely professional. The mechanic, Chad, who worked on my car, was clear, concise, knowledgeable and completed repairs within 24 hours. The price was more than fair, so much better than the dealership. Best of all, my 1999 Mercedes E320 now runs like brand new! Thank you Gowen's!

Took my van in for a leak and over heating when running a/c. It ran hot when not moving. They replace the water pump and said everything else was fine. The next day it started to run hot again. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! THEY ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL I DROPPED MY CAR OFF ON MONDAY GAVE THEM CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE POINT WHERE A KID WOULD BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND TO THEM I WANTED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE FIRST TO SEE WHY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND THEY STARTED ORDERING PARTS THAT I WANTED TO INQUIRY ABOUT AFTER THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS DONE I HAD TO KEEP CALLING THE MECHANICS THERE ARE VERY LAZY AND THE RECEP THERE IS RUDE! ANSWERING THE PHONE WHO OS THIS. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME MONEY AND HEADACHE!!!

I had an AWESOME first experience with Gowen's Automotive Repair Shop. I was in route back to Albany, GA from Atlanta when my idler pulley and serpentine belt gave way on my 2000 Mercedes Benz SUV. I called several repair shops, and none of them could assist because they were simply booked up for several weeks. Gowen's was actually booked, but they made a special exception for me since I was traveling. They ordered the needed parts right away and took on my repair job as soon as I had my vehicle towed to them. This customer service speaks in volume with me. They were genuinely wanting to assist me. They were up front about the details of the repair, and their pricing was very reasonable. Brandon is a great Mercedes mechanic, and EVERYONE I came in contact with at that shop had a very pleasing personality. I would definitely use this repair facility again.

The staff at Gowen s Automotive Repair are very professional, courteous and friendly. They explained to me exactly what the issue was with my car and the cost.. Once I gave permission to repair my vehicle, I had it back the very same day which is impressive. Rick was very nice and Ms. Barbara is just a Gem!!

I have used Gowen's for multiple repairs and gave a great past review. But my recent experience left me dissatisfied. I took my 2006 Nissan Maxima there around June 2022 when it broke down on the interstate. I asked for a diagnostic test and replacement of power steering lines along with a serpentine belt due to the screeching noise emitting from under the hood. I was informed that the diagnosis was a defective alternator; I purchased one from Advanced Auto; however, they installed their own with a year warranty.I received my vehicle and noticed that it still made the screeching noise and a week later it broke down at Popeye's drive through while ordering food. I brought it back to Gowen's and they kept the vehicle for a couple of days, but later called me to pick it up.They stated the car didn't shutdown while testing it, and they were not able to recreate the issue while under their inspection. They told me to continue to drive it and if I experienced further issues with shutting down to just bring it back. Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago I broke down on the interstate once again while leaving Lowes hardware.The vehicle experienced similar issues to the first break down in June 2022. I was able to clear some codes that appeared and waited for about 40 minutes and was then able to drive the vehicle back to Gowen's the next day. Gowen's kept the vehicle over two weeks and informed me that the issue was different from the last diagnosis. That I actually needed a cam and crankshaft senor along with a valve cover gasket since it was leaking oil on the senor.I was also told that I would be charged a second time for diagnostic testing since the issue was separate from the previous one. The estimated cost for the sensors alone would be around $760 in addition to a charge of $141 for the diagnostic test. I inquired about the valve cover replacement cost, and was informed by Barbara that the quote from June 2022 of $560 had gone up due to the passing of time along with inflation and she would need time to research the final cost.I expressed to her that it hadn't been a year since the first diagnostic test and I felt that the issue should have been discovered the first time and that I should not have to pay for a second diagnostic test, but my concerns went unheard. Ms. Barbara called me back with a final cost of $2046 for replacing the two sensors and valve cover. I considered that to be price gouging especially on the valve cover gasket since it hadn't been a year.I am pretty familiar with parts and labor costs since I served in the Army for ten years as a light wheel mechanic and was trained in power generation, and gasoline and diesel engine repair while assigned to the Motorpool as a member of heavy equipment maintenance (HEM) company.I paid for the diagnostic testing and declined the repairs from Gowen's automotive. That's because I had already gotten a much more inexpensive quote from Precision Tune for all 3 sensors, valve cover gasket and oil change for $1200. Gowen's attempted to charge me $1000 basically for a valve cover gasket replacement. Actually, it would have been more than a 1000 when you added everything up for total cost.And by the way, my car is still making the screeching sound since the last time they replaced my serpentine belt in June 2022.I find their service costs highly questionable at this juncture, and in good conscious cannot grant them a favorable recommendation.Service: Auto maintenance

This is one of the best mechanic shops that I have ever been to. They are very friendly, informative, professional and super good. I needed a transmission and they were very on point with everything. I love this family business and I will recommend them for anyone to try them. They are GREAT !! I will definitely use their services again.

I have been to Gowen's on four different occasions. They are very thorough. They don't rush through the repairs. Some things should not be rushed. You'd never want a surgeon to rush through surgery and I don't want machanics to rush through any of my car repairs! They do a great job and I feel safe when I take my car home.

I was stuck in Temple, GA and though they were booked up for the day, these guys managed to for me in and get me back on the road. My clutch feels brand new thanks to them. Wonderful people and their price was extremely reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone

Very knowledgeable. Helps me find problems before they occur. Chads is the best! Everyone is very friendly. It s a GOOD thing that they are always busy, so make some time for them having your car longer than expected. Not always the case but things happen. It is awesome when everyone wants you to service their car! I ll always use them, hell one time Chad came to pick me up to retrieve my vehicle. It s like a loving family! 10stars!

For 30 years Gowen Automotive has repaired many of our personal vehicles, vans, and SUV s. We have always had first rate service and auto repairs were never questionable. The timeframe of repairs have always been expeditious. The costs were comparable with a company of this high caliber of work. Barbara and Mr. Gowen (RIP) are highly respected in this region. I first want to start off by saying that I am grateful for my experience with Gowens Automotive. Ms. Barbara was the sweetest when I first called to make my appointment. She was incredibly professional and has the greatest personality and even sweeter in person My mechanic was Ryan. Very informative about my car and took me along every step of the way. The entire staff was friendly and what I love is that they treat you like family. I met them for the first time and I instantly felt like family. I m happy to know that I have somewhere to take my cars whenever I have any issues! If you are in need of a mechanic especially in the Fairburn area please take your car there. It s nice to know that honest people still exist in the world! If I could give them 10 stars I definitely would. I told Ms. Barbara that I have no family here and her response to me was now you do with a Big hug! Sorry for the long message, but they are worth every word!! Thanks again Ms. Barbara and Ryan!!!

Quite honestly l was very disappointed. My car was there for 3 or 4 months and was never diagnosed properly. There was absolutely no communication from your service dept. Days, weeks, and months just passed. Whenever l checked with service l received meaningless excuses. It became clear to me that you guys could not properly diagnose the problem. I wish this would have been communicated much earlier in the process. Utimately l had to have my vehicle towed to another shop. I do however appreciate not being charged for this experience.

This place gave me the worst auto repair experience ever. I wouldn't advise my worst enemy to come here.. I brought 2 vehicles here spent right at $3000 needless to say neither vehicle is right . In fact worse than when I brought them in. And I brought my car back twice and still didn't get it right and they didn't offer to give me none of my money back. Now I'm looking for someone to get both vehicles right after going to this place. I suffered a great loss of time and money here. Worst repair place I ever been too.. They charge top quality prices with shade tree service.
