So Ideal Auto Care is such a wonderful place to take your car. How do I know this? Because I'm from Florida and we had a car issue. I called multiple places, but some didn't answer. One answered and said they were booked out for 6 weeks and this person then recommended Ideal Auto Care, so thats the place I called. I explained what was going on, and they said, "Bring it in, and we will hook it up to the computer and see what's going on." So let me explain I'm from Florida, and in Georgia on vacation, it's 3:30 on a Wednesday, and we planned to leave on Saturday. Now, we have multiple events planned between Wednesday and Friday. So I take it to them, and they find out immediately what is wrong with it they then say they can have it fixed for you in the morning, so I leave the car there. We'll the next day at 9:30am they called me that the car was fixed. Wow, what a relief they could have really raked me over the coals as they knew I was just visiting the area for vacation from Florida, but they didn't , they charged me $258.00. I had number 6 cyclender miss firing that might seem a lot, but you have to pull the manifold from my car to get to number 6 cyclender to change out the coil that was the problem. So my daughter drove me to pick up the car she drove her own car to Georgia also well I get in her car and it's bouncing all around we get to Ideal Auto Care they look at the car put it on there lift check all the tires and balance them for no charge!! we find out that the two front tire rims are bent and one tire the metal in the tire was broken so there was a bubble in it so they said leave it we will order two new tires and have it done for you in the morning and they did have it fixed like they said not one car but two cars!!! were fixed at this place they are truly great people at this place!!!!!!! Highly recommend them!

We came from Florida for a few days when our car started to smoke going uphill. The smoke stopped but my car began to smell like maple syrup every time we parked it. We confirmed that our coolant was in trouble. We called 4 places and Abby was the first one to answer the phone, which was such a relief as the day was almost over. She said come on over . We felt so cared for the moment we stepped in and her mechanic confirmed our hose had broke and if we kept going, we would have an overheated car! Not only did Abby offer to take us to our cabin, she also offered to drive us to pick up food for dinner and pick us up the next day. And if that wasn t enough, she gave us some fresh honey to take home since she s a beekeeper. Abby is one of the nicest people we ve EVER done business with and her generosity and thoughtfulness is so appreciated!!! We needed a new hose and coolant replaced and they checked everything else. We are just so grateful we found them. We highly recommend Ideal Auto Care!

They took care of my problem very quickly. I've been searching for a great mechanic since I moved to Ellijay and I think I've found one. I'll be using them for all my auto repairs.

I have taken my vehicle to Ideal twice this year. Each time I have been so happy with the results.After taking my vehicle to another car shop in town and feeling dissatisfied, I certainly didn't expect to be able to trust another local car shop like this. The other shop over-quoted me, had long wait times, and could have communicated better.Ideal fixed my a/c in a single afternoon during one visit and replaced my wheel bearing in another. I have felt very comfortable with their prices and their expertise.If I need a car shop, I'll be heading over to Ideal!

yesterday i called to see if how much car alignment was and the lady that answered very rudely told me they did not do them and hung up the phone. never in my life have i had such bad customer service!!!!

Had them build an engine and got it back after a long time and installed the engine and turned out to have no oil pressure so took it back and they said it was good now and once again installed it and no oil pressure. These trips were 1hr drives. Ended up taking to a local mechanic. They had to rebuild the whole engine and I had to pay them to do it all over again and they said it was poorly built and was lucky I didn t damage anything. I didn t get a refund for the warranty and I ve wasted enough time and money with them.

This place is great! I drove from out of town to look at a used car from a private seller. I wasn't planning to have a mechanic look at it, so I did not arrange anything ahead of time. Once I saw the car, I decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to let a mechanic take a look. I called this shop 40 minutes before they closed and they were more than happy to fit me in. He explained his concerns about the vehicle, the good, the bad, and also some tips for what to always look for when buying used cars. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff!

This is the first review I ve ever written and these guys definitely deserve it. The owners are the most knowledgeable and down to earth people we have ever encountered. All aspects of our brakes were shot just before entering the smokies and they fixed everything in a very timely matter and even charged us considerably less than what was originally quoted! Great service, even greater people.

This place was life line for me everybody in town was not ready to give appointments and this location had fixed my sprinter 2500 2.7 diesel transmission issue.I Will strongly recommend for the Ellijay GA Auto Repair, Front office lady and the gentleman had done fantastic job.I appreciate. I had russell rebuild a motor. It took him over 10 months , when I finally got it it had no power hardly. He says it needed to be broke in go easy. When time to adjust valves came I took to another mechanic. They found that the motor had not been put back together right , washers that go on eash end of the crank shaft had been left out ruining the motor. Russell did nothing to fix this an made me take him to court. My mechanic passed away before court or we would have won the case. Russell had no recipes for any parts. In the end this cost me 1000s extra .. I'd advise anyone thinking about using this place to find a better mechanic .

Horrible business practice sent my wife to have my starter looked at cuz it was making a sound they put $60 worth of oil in our vehicle without asking us then gave us a bill after starting our truck 5000 times probably to try to burn our starter up so they would charge us for that too while we were there

Called Ideal Auto, unless they've changed name again. Told by Russell repairs on my truck would take 2-3 weeks and it took over 4 months to get truck back and I still couldn't make it back home with it! Had to turn around and take it back as they didn't fix problems that it was there for, after 4 months you'd think it would be in great shape! Not here. When I got it back 2nd time, I went in a trip and got stranded a thousand miles from Ellijay and had to get a rental to get back home. Left message and never heard from Russ's once I left a message with an overview of the problem!!! Be careful and dig into past reviews before you decide to take it to this place. I sure wouldn't recommend them. Talks a good game up front, but once the money changed hands.....

I have a 1966 Ford Thunderbird. It needed .power brake booster. I couldn't find one anywhere. Russell found one in one day. Had my T Bird back the next day with power brakes again and for a decent repair price.Very satisfied!This is the place to go if you have an old Ford.

We had a blown head gasket in a 2003 expedition. they took care of it it a timely manner and at a very reasonable price. I absolutely recommend this shop!

Had a leaking transmission .They hastly looked at it, found the issue.Down side dealer only part .. Couldnt get for a few days.They helped me get back on the road that day , as i was traveling and didnt charge me .Id suggest letting them take care of your automotive needs.Thanks guys

Had them diagnose our car so we let them fix it got it back after all the cost done the same problem but they had a excuse why it didn't fix it wanted more money for another problem I wouldn't take a match box car there.
