In August my mother started to realize her car wasn t shifting down appropriately.Mr. Transmission advised my mom that the ECM would need to be replaced. She was quoted $1,200 for the parts and labor, which per the invoice stated a brand new ECM would be installed. A few days after the repair she noticed the same issue return. The shop denied that their work was responsible for the issue.We took the car to the dealership to be inspected and they noted the new ECM that had been installed had significant water damage. The pictures the dealership provided us show very obviously that the ECM my mom was charged for was not brand new. We asked that at the very least they return the old computer so that the dealership could work on it. The shop said they would only return it for an additional payment of $500.I m not sure if management has changed at this shop, but the level of service and professionalism has certainly declined since my last visit. They lied on the invoice about what my mom was being charged for and then refused to take any responsibility. They didn t even try to make it right by working with us on returning the old computer. My advice would be to look elsewhere for your transmission needs.Service: Transmission

My car would not accelerate and I had Scott take a look at my transmission. To our surprise once the tow truck dropped off my car, Scott was able to drive it. He was a very honest and caring guy. He couldn t find anything wrong with my car, just must ve been a fluke. I will definitely be back and referring anyone I know with transmission issues!

What a great experience! Brought our food truck to the Lawrenceville location 2 weeks ago for transmission repairs. From start to finish the service was great! Mr John had our truck finish within the time frame that he provided. I would recommend Mr Transmission to anyone for transmission repairs because the process was seamless! Thanks to all for getting the repairs completed in a timely fashion!

Superior experience from start to finish. Scott was amazing from the point of calling for an estimate, to dealing with warranty company, to completing the repair. Time frame was great and pricing very fair. This was a Night and day difference after dealing with the gmc dealership.

My son's car had transmission problems while we were traveling through Atlanta (from Indiana) and several locals referred this company to us. They diagnosed the car for us and while we ultimately decided to take it home to a local shop for repair (for warranty reasons only) they were very friendly and helpful with so much information. They even allowed my son to keep his car there for a few days until we could get back down to haul it home. Thank you guys so much for making our terrible situation seem not so bad and for making us feel at home the entire time. We appreciate you all!

I brought my car into the shop with a transmission fluid leak and was able to drive my car home in less than 4 hours. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at this shop, they are quick and helpful!

Scott and Cameron were both very polite and very helpful. They checked my transmission over and confirmed everything was ok. I had my truck back in only a few hours. I had a problem with what I thought was my transmission and was told by my normal mechanic to bring it to Mr. Transmission in Decatur. They diagnosed the issue immediately and fixed it for a reasonable price without trying to upsell me and throw in other items. What a breath of fresh air to find an honest mechanic. These guys are always great! I've recommended many folks to this place. They also offer the Synchrony Car Care credit, which you can use at some other participating shops, as well as, some auto parts stores, and I think some gas stations, too. If you pay large purchases off within 6 months, then it's interest free, and that's not an introductory thing. That's every time. These guys warranty their work for 12,000 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. They also insist that you bring your vehicle back after driving it for a few hundred miles, basically a tank of gas, just so they can check their work.

These guys are great. I've had my car serviced at a lot of places and this is the ONLY place that has ever told me "we don't want you to be without your car too long". I was quite impressed. Thanks Scott and Cameron. I will be stopping by this week for my 2 wk checkup

Scott is awesome...customer service was great, and they do top notch work! No surprises on the repair price. He looked at my car, gave me a very reasonable quote, and that s exactly what I paid. He also does a 10 day checkup (no charge) to make sure everything is working well and to check for leaks, etc., and encourages you to call if there are any problems at all. He really knows how to take good care of his customers. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family!

My mechanic i had been using for 20 years told me i had to change the transmission and it would take 2 weeks. After 2 weeks he hadn't started on my van so I towed it to Mr Transmission. They told me the issue which was not a change of transmission. I needed to change modulator (whatever that means ) long story short. I paid $350 and van runs like new.I highly recommend Mr Transmission.

The wonderful reviews are what brought me to Mr. Transmission. My car was slipping while in 1st gear. I called and spoke to Scott. He diagnosed the car without charging me. He told me exactly what my car needed. He fixed the car in a timely manner and charged me a very fair price (much lower than what was originally discussed before my diagnosis). The reviews about Mr. Transmission are true. Scott is very kind and honest. I will without a doubt recommend Scott to all of my family and friends. You will not be sorry you took your car to Scott!

My Daughter took her Avalanche truck there for a leaky transmission. Mr Scott replaced her rear-main seal and the leak ceased. He is Very professional, knowledgeable and patient. He quizzes as to the performance of the vehicle and let's one know up front if it can be repaired. I highly recommend this place.

Came to Mr. Transmission to see if I needed my solenoid replaced on my 2004 Toyota Camry. Scott was incredibly thorough in both his explanation to us and his work-up of our car. Ended up being able to fix the car with no need of any other maintenance. Done within a day and back on the road driving smoothly. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a hassle-free, straight forward, and fine work done on your transmission. Great guy, great transmission shop.

Scott has helped me out with two separate cars now and my bad transmission luck, rebuilding the transmission in my Ford Five Hundred and installing a new used transmission in my Ford Freestyle. He gives good advice, knows his stuff, is friendly, and goes above and beyond the call of duty. He spent extra time with my car before my trip out of town just to make sure it was safe to drive. I highly recommend his shop for anyone with transmission repair or replacement needs!

I am so incredibly thankful to Scott. He diagnosed an ongoing issue that wasn t even transmission based. Ended being a wheel bearing.Shall I ever need their services in the future, I most definitely will take my car here.I m glad to see such honesty and genuine concern in a mechanic. Scott is a wonderful, honest professional. My transmission fix came in well under my mechanic's estimate. Scott only replaced the parts that absolutely needed it (even though my engine was throwing multiple codes). Highly recommend.

I wish I could give them 6 stars. Scott was so helpful. I went in not knowing what was going on and helped diagnose my issue. I wasn't sure if my warranty was still active, so he gave me talking points on how to negotiate with the dealer on my car's known issue. He also replaced my transmission fluid free of charge to make sure my car was driveable until I could get it fixed. He also priced the repair for me in the event I didn't want to go to the dealer.Definitely check his shop out; he is a good guy.

I originally took my car here on March 2017 for a transmission rebuild. Years later with my car still under warranty, I brought it back from a mechanic misdiagnosed a problem with it. The problem with my car was that the passenger side axel needed to be replaced and not the transmission. The mechanic here Scott was very professional and fixed the problem in a timely manner. The service here is high in quality and the price is very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who has problems with their vehicles.

I was having a transmission issue last week and took my car to Mr. Transmission to have it serviced after reading the reviews. I was not disappointed! Scott was very knowledgeable and friendly and the service was lightning-quick despite the fact that it required a specialty part. 10/5 would recommend Mr. Transmission (at least this location) for fast, friendly, reasonably-priced repairs.

Scott at Mr. Transmission was tremendous.His service was exemplified by integrity.He fixed my transmission and subsequent problemsThat were unforseen.It cost him time and money.Yet, he stuck with me,and made many efforts and allowed me ways to determine if all was correct.He saved my truck.I really should have bought another one.I'll truly use Scott again,and I hope it's an easy job.He deserves it.I'm an actual customer (A black guy).Scott treated me as if I was his brother.Could I ask for anything more?

I was having some clutch issues with my 2012 Suzuki Kizashi. Its a very rare car and no mechanic has ever heard of them. I brought my car to Scott at Mr. Transmission and he was able to quickly diagnose that I didn't have any break fluid. Didn't charge me a dime! I'm a poor nursing school student and this was a huge relief. Great service and very nice people. I highly recommend!

I have to say that they fix my car. The reason why I gave them a low score is because personal stuff was taken out of my car. When I call to let the manager know he told me no one would have taken stuff out of my. I know what I put in there are for him to tell me that without checking to make sure had me sitting on easy it was a family heirloom that was passed down from my father to my family. I don't have a problem with the service nor do I have a problem with my vehicle my problem is with the thief in the shop

I ran into an issue with my 13 dart auto around the new year. It wouldn't go into drive or reverse. Obvious issue so did a lil bit of research into the issue it could be the tcm( transmission control module) call them up explain the issue get quoted 1000 for install and tune. That's reasonable. Here comes the rub. Finally got the car towed over had my wife call and set that up. 1000 turned into 7000. I call to find out what changed. Not sure the guys name wasn't Cameron or Scott but get the whole the cost or repairs have gone up . Car isn't worth 4k mind you. I ask what's the codes . They hadn't even pulled the codes before quoting me 7k. Ask for the codes finally got them the answer was still 7k even if it was the hydraulic shifter (2200 new)because you have to rebuild the trans to be safe. Cool. I'm told specifically it's not electronic issue in nature. I again do a lil research with the codes provided. It's a 86 dollar smart drive relay was the issue . 10 min repair. I've been driving the car roughly 2 weeks now and the issue is non-existent. My car was fixed for 86 bucks. Do your research folks. Before jumping in to a rebuild. Wanted to insure the issue was resolved before leaving this review.Service: Transmission
