I recently had an experience with Aamco that left me with mixed feelings. To start, they had my car for a whopping 4 days before even initiating contact with my warranty company. While I understand they might have been swamped with work, the lack of communication was frustrating. As I had to call them multiple times a day. Shout out to Zach for helping me out and stepping in when the first guy I talked to abruptly was moved to another location. Again not the company s fault.Even my Warranty Company was a little slow in the process. (Another review for that)Once they finally got the ball rolling, I have to admit, they did put in significant effort to fix my car. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that there wasn't a sense of urgency in their approach. This lack of urgency ended up costing me over $1300 in rental car fees, which was a considerable dent in my wallet.To add to the frustration, I somehow ended up footing the bill for a new battery. While they claimed it died due to water in the bottom of my trunk, a problem that apparently had been lingering for some time, it still felt like an unexpected expense that I wasn't prepared for. Granted Zack helped me out with waiving the installation fee for the new battery. The entire process was just overwhelming.Despite these setbacks, I will give credit where it's due. Aamco did eventually get my car back to me in smooth-driving condition, hence the 4-star rating. However, based on this experience, be prepared to wait some time if you ever have to go there.

My car was running sluggishly, jerking before accelerating and my engine light was on. I took it to Aamco transmissions where the manager Joe Karam did a diagnostic, because he said that the way the car was running wasn't always a result of a transmission problem. I told him I wanted to know exactly what was wrong with the car before I dumped a bunch of money into it, because although the car only had 100,000 miles on it, it was old, I didn't have a lot of money and I rather buy another car than dump money into a money pit. So, at first they said it was not the transmission and made some repairs. As I was driving home the engine light came back on and I took it back. Then he said he was wrong and it was the transmission, rebuilt the transmission and told me that, that was definately the problem and that my engine light would NOT come back on. As I was driving home my engine light came back on. Then he said it was misfires and changed my points and plugs. As I drove the car home the engine light came back on. I drove the car back to Aamco because Joe told me that it was only the car's computer that needed to be reset, but the engine light came back on again. I told Joe that I had no more money, but he promised that this time he definately found the problem and it would cost about another $600.00 to fix it. I was in so deep that I decided to barrow the money and made the recommended repair. But, as I was driving home my engine light came back on. I was upset and felt like a fool for trusting Joe just because he seemed like a nice boy. I called him back upset and confused. That was when I spoke with the "real" Joe. The same person who seemed so nice and caring became cold and matter of fact. He told me that I needed to leave my car for an unspecified period of time. It could be weeks or even months until they could get a FORD computer in, to do a diagnostic because what I really needed was a Ford diagnostic. I asked Joe why he didn't tell me that from the start? To which I received no response. I Know exactly why he didn't tell me that from the start! That was because I would have gone to a FORD dealership's service department, and he would not have been able to get all of my money! I am almost 70 years old and disabled. Not only was I taken advantage of because I'm a woman, but I'm also elderly and disabled! This is not the place where you want to bring your car unless of course you don't care who you're dealing with.

I could give this company 5 stars because for 1 they fixed the problem even thoe it was thru my warranty company I still had to pay a little out of pocket but Zach and his guys had my car a week longer than expected so he made it where I paid $0 out of pocket you have to respect an honest mechanic but they fixed the problem and that s all that matters even thoe I was calling everyday for a week sometimes twice a day only because I started to get worried it wasn t going to get fixed but they installed a brand new transmission and it runs better thanks to Zach and his team

EXCELLENT!!! Professional, knowledgeable, and Trustworthy.. My Car was finish as promised in 2 days I was back.on the road. My Tranmissions runs like new and they do other work as wellI was completely satisfied!! Imy found a new mechanic shop!!

Never had an issue with passing emissions but 3 months of repair time from this location. It can't pass, and the only solution is to just keep driving with no issue, no code, or engine light. Go else where.

Joe is the best!!! From start to finish he was very professional and trustworthy. I felt really good about dealing with him because he thoroughly explained the options as to what I could expect, without making any promises until he could look at my car to see what it needed. He explained the problem and I was so excited to learn that it was NOT the transmission. I spent so much less than I anticipated and the job was well done. His customer service exceeded my expectations! I will, without any doubts, recommend AAMCO on N. Decatur Rd. Just ask for Joe and you will definitely be professionally taken care of.

Joe and Chris are the dream team! They gave me a fair price on a transmission replacement with a good warranty and had the car in and out of the shop within two days after the parts came in. I went on a family vacation directly after and have put around 1000 miles on it so far with no issues. Car troubles can be stressful, but Joe and Chris are very friendly and knowledgeable, which put my mind at ease throughout the whole process. Thanks!

If I could give 10 stars I would. Joe the new manager there is very knowledgeable and experienced. I do most of my own auto repairs so I know when someone knows what there talking about. He did what he promised, when he said he would do it and stood behind his word! The man has integrity and will have my future business! How many business now-a-days can you say that about! Took my car here to get repaired!! My first red flag i waited couple days. Didn t receive no call about my car whatsoever. Me and my husband called multiple times with no answer. We got fed up and called until they finally picked up. The guy at the front desk answered not the Jamaican guy the other mixed looking one. It s just the way he talked to us it wasn t pleasant but rather rude and unprofessional. We are not out here to bother anyone. I normally take my car to accurate car auto repair in Marietta and I swear they are Gods greatest gift to man with the care, accuracy, friendliness, and professionalism they give their customers. That s how you motivate payment for repairs. I wasn t motivated by this place at all. They will diagnose your car right there and then so you can know what you re dealing with. I only took my car here because they take my carsheild insurance but my gosh no communication nothing at all. I got fed up with the lack of communication and with carshield. I went there today to see what s going on why I m not hearing anything. I walked to the back to see where my car is. It s there literally sitting down. They quote me $7,000 for an engine motor + labor. Note: you pay less than that for a engine. So I m guessing $3,000 for the part and 4,000 for labor. Listen that s enough for a use working car more or less that s more than half the market value for my car. Arghhh!!! No thanks. I kindly took my car home. I got a coworker and a friend that s a mechanic. To get their opinions. Then I ll take it to my go to mechanic accurate care for repairs. The only reason I give two stars is because of the Jamaican guy he s actually nice do your research about this place and read the reviews. It s a lot of truth to these other folks story. I ve been very lucky with my car but still wanted peace of mind to make sure all was working well. Initially I took it to a dealership for what I thought was a multi-point inspection, but in actuality was a basic check-up I could have done on my own. I decided to call around and find a shop closer to me. Having had a great experience at an AAMCO many years ago I called this one. From my first chat with Zach, I was confident this was going to go well. Due to my hectic schedule, I was not able to take my car in for a couple of weeks. Zach was upfront with not being able to make an appointment and that when I did bring my car in, it may have to be there all day. When I called again, Zach remembered me and said I could drop my car off the next morning. I dropped off my car around 10am and about three hours later it was ready. Fortunately, there was nothing wrong with it. Zach and his co-worker were friendly, professional, and cared, for when I picked up my car, I took up a bit of their time asking a number of questions regarding car noises . Hopefully I won t be having any car issues, but if I do, this is where I will bring it.

We were traveling north on I 75 when our Dodge Caravan started bucking,misfiring. That was Thursday afternoon before Memorial Day weekend. We call Joe at Aamco, he was polite and knowledgeable. Joe told us to come in first thing Friday morning, he d take us right away.Friday morning Joe put the computer on the van and confirmed that # 4 cylinder was malfunctioning. He ordered the part, had his mechanic prep the van while waiting and had it all fixed and running great again in just 2hrs. He saved our weekend!!!! Thank you Joe!!

Had my car towed there. Was told that it needed a new transmission and would cost around $4k. I said that is the worth of the car and I didn t want to spend that much on this old car. They offered $100 for the car. I said I d rather donate it to charity than take that low offer. Before donating, I decided to get one more opinion bc I really can t afford another car payment rn. Towed it to another shop and the shop reported that it started right up. They couldn t find anything wrong with it!!! Got my car back and it s running fine idk

Joe Karan, the manager at Aamco was fantastic! Coming in from out of town with car trouble is one thing, but on a holiday weekend- nerve wracking!! Joe put us at ease right from the beginning- big smile and assurance he d take care of things. He diagnosed , ordered the part and repaired in just a few hours. We were back on the road in no time vehicle runs better than ever! Thanks Joe and Aamco!!

Out of all repair shops I've been to, Aamco was the best by far. They were very helpful in working with Car Shield, installing my new transmission. They called until my transmission claim was approved and installed. They are very trustworthy and professional. Thanks so much, Aamco.

I took my vehicle in to get my transmission swapped with one that I brought to them. The work took less than a week. When I got my vehicle back it had a ticking sounds as if the exhaust was leaking they did notate it on the paperwork said small exhaust leak no problem but there was no leak before I brought it in. I asked the front office staff if they had to loosen any of the exhaust system to take out transmission or transfer case being its for wheel drive. Manger flat out said no they didn't have to touch any exhaust system. A few days later exhaust week was too loud I went back talk to a different front office staff they told me to bring the vehicle back they will look at it took the vehicle back it's set there for a week no one touched it and they left the doors open someone went in and moved all my stuff around. Willing to give them another chance two weeks later I took the vehicle back for a second time. Same thing set for a week no one even looked at it. Finally I decided just to take the vehicle home. When I got there I asked one of the technicians if they had to move the exhaust and he said definitely had to move the exhaust in order to change out transfer case and transmission I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable I just wanted them to look over to work that they had already did but for 2 weeks my vehicle set in a parking lot and was never touched. The only thing manager had to say was he can try to shop down the street and see what they can do.

I found my mechanic s! As a middle age single woman I m always apprehensive whenever I have issues with my car. I ve been taken advantage of simply from my lack of knowledge about car care. So when my transmission light came on I panicked! I called a shade tree mechanic and he suggested I take it to the dealership. But Ford didn t have any appointments till October. I knew Transmission was serious. My cousins recommended this Aamco. I trusted them because they are family and both are Ministers. Well they didn t lie! Chris and Zack were honest, professional and thorough. I didn t have to drain my little ssi funds. I can honestly say these guys were a godsend. Im extremely happy that i went to this Aamco. joe was extremely professional, kind, and we actually talked for about 30 minutes of random topics before we talked business. I hope i never have transmission issues again, but if I do, I ll go there again.

These guys are exceptional. We brought in the truck thinking it needed a new transmission. Eddie and Gary checked it out and told us that is was not the transmission, but a much less expensive repair that they took care of. Rarely do you encounter honest mechanics but these guys are the real deal. I'd trust them with any and all repairs.Again, I'd highly recommend these guys.Service: Transmission

So I m not one to write reviews but today I feel it s important that I do. I checked my car into the shop on a Sunday(June 20th) granted that they re not open on the weekend so I understand that they didn t start working on it. So I made a call on Monday because I know they didn t have my number since I towed the car there and I asked him if they could please take a look at it and I had to call back on my own accord two days later to see if they even have started to work on it. I was told by Zack that I needed to give them the OK so I went ahead and gave them OK I asked him what the price was a quoted me $856. Which was OK with me no issue however, I do feel that it s unprofessional to asked me that I need to call and give them OK when I told them to look at the car and the moment that they figured out what was wrong with it they should ve called me and let me know so that I could ve went ahead and gave them your OK. But it s all good I let that pass I waited about a whole week to get my car fixed pretty much a whole week to get my car fixed. Then after that I go to pick up the car and my radio is not working. This is very uncool because when I came and brought my car into the shop my radio was working so there should be no reason why some thing that I had before is off now I asked the person to look at it he told me that he would need another day youwould have to research and Google it. No, I do not have the time or energy to wait another day after I ve had the car in the shop for almost a week and paid almost $1000 so I said I will just take it to another shop. My issue is if i brought the car in one shape it should come the same type of way and there was an issue with it they should ve fixed it before I even got to the car but clearly they don t understand it. I only gave them two stars because apparently they got the job done I m praying to God that there won t be any more issues with the car and that they actually do what they re supposed to do. But besides that the rest of the three star it because they re unprofessional, they take super long, and leave your car in a parking lot unlocked granted I didn t have any valuables in it and at the end of the day my radio is now messed up so God knows how much that s gonna cost thank you so much AAMCO for wasting my time.Ps: the least they could ve done was offer me a discount in exchange for them messing up something else but no their greed has overpower their professionalism.Service: Electrical

I m leaving this review because i see a bunch of reviews talking bad on their customer service.. shout out to Zach. He was very professional, very nice, and he had the best customer service. As a woman, he didn t give off anything to make me feel like i was being taken advantage of. They rebuilt my transmission in July of 2021. My torque converter went out while on vacation June 2023 and they can't warranty the work because they only give you a 12 month warrant on rebuilt transmissions. My gut told me I should have chosen another company and I didn't listen.

I ve been here a couple of times and let them work on my 2008 Volkswagon Rabbit. It is super hard to find professionals to fix the German cars. I had them replace my transmission a year ago and replace some motor mounts a couple of months ago. I am very grateful that they fixed my VW up everytime with reasonable prices! Now I have a Car Credit Card and it s all thanks to Zach and the team here! Thank you guys for helping me keep my baby while I finished college.Service: Transmission

Transmission light kept coming on and went to this AAmco. Problem never fixed after spending nearly $5,000. Took it to a mechanic who was able diagnose it as a computer problem with a faulty unit. Transmission that was sold as factory rebuilt was covered with dirt and clearly not a factory rebuilt. Definitely a used transmission out of another car. Beware!Service: Transmission
