I am so thankful for the crew over at Transmission Experts for fixing up my car! I highly recommend everyone check them out. I didn t have to wait long for the repairs, they were reasonably priced, and they didn t try to get me to purchase additional services that I didn t need. They are trustworthy, reputable, and have been around for years!

ATTN POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS:I had posted a review a few days ago, admittedly, I was scathingly mad. I deleted that review and this is what we re going to do. Let me allow for some background first.I had taking my vehicle to transmission experts as the transmission in it seemed to be going out on the highway as I was passing through Columbus. My warranty company worked with transmission experts and it was close to where I pulled off so I went to them.Like I said in my previous review I asked Edd and his team to please inspect the oil leak that was extremely obvious a multitude of times The AWS warranty would ve even covered anything valve or gasket related. Well now the warranty is expired as they never even looked, he admitted to me he thought I said transmission fluid seriously?I was underneath it on a lift at the best shop in town where I live yesterday with the owner and manager. Whoever put the transmission in the truck was very sloppy. Not only is it still slipping going into third gear I have shown video evidence of this too Edd, the manager. It was slipping as I was leaving Columbus to get on the highway if it wasn t a Saturday and they were already closed by the time I got there to pick it up, I would ve driven it straight back to them. I thought maybe there was a break in period or something . When I was finally home seven hours later it was still revving up before going into third gear.Well I m now paying another large amount of money with at least a trustworthy shop up here to get the oil leak fixed for good, no forgetting the wire bracket and cover as was the case with the fully rebuilt transmission T.E. Charged the my warranty company $3177.00 for.ATTN: POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS : I will be driving my Tahoe up to Transmission Experts from Florida in a couple weeks I will talk with Edd in the meantime so we can set up a date, I can drop it off first thing in the morning and if I need to spend more money on a hotel I can. Hopefully they can fix the transmission and put it back in correctly this time since it has a 12,000 warranty. Talk soon Edd.And I understand mistakes happen so I am trusting Edd, the good name of TRANSMISSION EXPERTS, and his team can make this mistake that has cost me so much, right, then I will update this review to 5 stars because they stood up and corrected the situation.I will absolutely update this review in about two weeks and let you all know how they handled re-doing it correctly.Joseph ColemanWhite Tahoe

Do Not take your vehicle to this shop for transmission work. They never got our truck transmission fixed. Total time, the truck was in their shop a year.We had to take the truck to another shop and pay more money

We brought our car to Transmission Experts because we were told we needed a torque converter but wanted them to confirm this. The next call we received said that they had ordered the part in addition to a throttle body but it would take two weeks before we could get the car back. When we picked the car up and it still skipped like it was before. They had driven the car over 100 miles, the car was filthy. Mud on the outside and black grease on the inside. The engine casing was gone and the tire flap was torn up. Also, the car was no longer aligned. We brought it back to the shop and they told us that we needed to go somewhere else and it would only cost $99. They were the ones who caused the car not to be aligned but refused to fix it. We were charged over $2700 and the car was worse than when it was dropped off. We have asked about the engine casing and he will not even return our calls. Please do not use this shop, you will be sorry.

I took my vehicle in and trusted they would be able to identify what was causing the issue and fix it. Once I got it back, it ran well for about a week before the exact same issue came back. I then took it in again and they said it must ve been an oil leak that caused the issue, rather than what they had fixed previously. Again, when I got the vehicle back, it ran well for about a week and the issue came right back. I finally decided to take my vehicle to another shop, where they identified what was actually wrong with it and they were able to fix it for good. Long story short, I spent about $1500 on vehicle repairs that failed to fix the problem. I felt ripped off and that the mechanics just guess on what needs fixed rather than working to identify the underlying problem. On a positive note, the owner/manager is a generally nice guy, but that s the only good thing about this place. I do not recommend.

**Consumer beware**First let me start by establishing some type of credibility. I am retired military veteran of 30 years of service with 3 combat tours. I have nothing to gain by falsely bad mouthing a business. My only hopes is that I help prevent someone else from being taken advantage of from a business who cares less about customer satisfaction. After expressing my dissatisfaction and telling the folks at transmission expert that I was going to leave this review it was arrogantly stated to me make sure I tell the truth . Well Sir here is the truth. I took my 2007 Mini Cooper S to have my clutch replaced. After keeping my car for a week and approximately $1500 dollars later I drove my car away. One thing I noticed right away is that it was a struggle switching gears. Unfortunately for me doings this time I was diagnosed with cancer, so my cancer treatment and multiple hospitalization took priority and my Mini was parked. At first opportunity that my health allowed I took my Mini back up to Transmission expert and complained about the difficulty to change the gears. They kept the car for another few days only to call to tell me they we re having problems starting my car and that I had a blown head gasket so I had the car towed away to have the engine repaired. The engine repair was a lengthy process due to my mechanic ran into some delays on getting parts. Eventually we would get the engine repaired. Once repaired, I took my car back up to Transmission expert. This time they would tell me that the warranty had expired. No concerns about mileage which I am sure they had recorded. One of the workers got in my car held his foot on the clutch without driving it and tried to tell me there was nothing wrong as if I started driving manual cars yesterday when I am licensed to drive a Tractor Trailer with a Class A CDL. A week or two later my Mini would not be able to change gears at all. Here is the kicker. I took my car to another mechanic and low and behold he found that the clutch was improperly installed and they used old parts to complete the job. My new clutch came with a lifetime warranty something that Transmission Expert did not mention to offer. My takeaway is this is a business that can t be trusted.

This shop tried to take advantage of my elderly father. When he told me the pricing, I called around and asked pricing and everyone in town was $1000s cheaper, even for the used transmission. I went there today to pick up his truck and I expected to pay the diagnostic charge as well as the tow charge. At first they told us the it was $389 for both and when he found out that I was approved for the financing for to get the transmission fixed and decided not to use them he charged an additional $75 and it was for the tow and did not allow us to use the credit we were approved for with Koalafi to pay the fees. He stated Koalafi told him I had to use it for repairs and Koalafi told me as long as I spend $200 with them that I would be able to use the financing. Needless, I know this repair shop was being vengeful because we decided not to use their services. Based on what others have said I m not the only one who has been treated this way. Please people of color and women, stay away from this place!!!Service: Transmission

I wish my husband would have paid close attention to the reviews. I have a 2007 mini copper and took it in for a clutch. Paid for a new replacement and not even a year later it's not properly working. I haven't been able to drive because I can not get it in gear. Smh. My husband took it back and explain why he hadn't been able to bring it in earlier ( battling cancer). He was told there was nothing they could do. ( found that hard to believe) he said it felt like the "good ole boy club" and he rather just take it elsewhere. I just feel that the management team should look into the customer's complaints and offer some kind of business ethics. I hope this helps you cause they didn't help us!

They took forever to replace my transmission over 2 months. I barely drive the car and transmission gave out in less than 5,000 miles. Also stated they could not find my receipt for proof service. Definitely do not recommended.

10/10 do not recommend. Left my truck there with them for 2 weeks ..and was told a number of times yeah it would be done! When I finally got my truck back literally last weekend Friday June 18th 2021 today is Tuesday 22 June 2021 and my transmission is still leaking. Told them bluntly what I wanted and I don t think it got done. The day I went to pick up I just saw what I believed was a mechanic smoking in the garage on his phone with my truck in the air still not finished. And really 1,000 dollars for labor come onThe only good thing about this place is Ed the manager. Ed bud you need to get yourself a new crew or somethingService: Transmission

Wonderful customer service. Went in for transmission tune up on my 2000 Honda Accord I recently bought. I know these vehicles are notorious for transmission problems so I wanted to have it checked out because sadly I know the dealership probably didn't even glance at it before selling it. I am horrible with names, and I believe it was either Jon or Eddy on the card they gave me that helped me. He first wanted to look at it first to see if it was even serviceable (aka, if the transmission is too far gone then a fluid flush might not be the best thing for it due to the direction of the fluid flush). After checking it out with me he came to the lounge and sat down in front of me and talked to me one on one. In my business, that is the most respectful thing you can do with a customer. Unfortunately, the transmission had a few problems that needed to be sorted out before it got flushed but he was nice enough to tell me what I needed done and how to go about it, as well as an initial price. This should never upset an educated customer due to the fact if they were bad people they would have just flushed it for the sale and I probably wouldn't have been able to drive it off the lot. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to support the procedures I need done to it at this moment but I will definitely come back to this place once I do. Furthermore, on my way back to my vehicle he furthered my confidence in the vehicle by pointing out the things that were running well with it. All this and this company did not even get a sale off of me, simply OUTSTANDING. I look forward to doing more business with Transmission Experts.

I drove 40+ minutes to get here for absolutely nothing. Everything that I was quoted and told over the phone was false. The price difference was over $1000 more than what he told me initially. It was a struggle to get my car up there and back and a complete let down. We went over my payment options..We discussed an upfront payment and when I got there, it would have been $700 more just for them to order the part. No apology if there was a misunderstanding of anything but I won t be going back or recommending them to anyone.

The other day my U-Joint snapped on my way out to work at 3am. I called them when they opened up and Rick was very cheerful and told me know problem get it towed there and they would have it looked at and fixed. They were very professional and had my jeep up and running within a day with no notice. I have had my transmission replaced along with my clutch and they are most professional and competent mechanics I have ever seen! I can t say this happens to everyone they encountered but both times I broken equipment it was very unexpected as with most people, and Rick worked with me and let me partially pay then make payments till I was paid off, and truthfully I called them to make my payments Rick never ever pressured me for a payment. I have found this to be the best quality about them! They have a trust and honesty about them which is very rare these days! I will continue to go to them for all work that needs to be done on my jeep. Even if I could find a place cheaper for the same work I will never go anywhere else just amazing people! Last but not least they are a Veteran owned business, they never talked about it but maintain a very quiet professional stance as I walked into their bay and saw the Vietnam pictures and memorabilia, I will appreciate his service and how he helped out me a fellow service member when my bills got tight due to the unforeseen incident! I can't stress enough they are the only people to turn to for your work to be done on your vehicle

Took my BMW X3 to an imports shop in Columbus because it was having acceleration/shifting problems. After having it for a day, they called me and said that it needed a new transfer case and that cost with labor would be around $2700.Decided to take it to Transmission Experts for a second opinion. After having it for about 2 days for diagnostic, they let me know that the transmission and the transfer case were fine, and absolutely did not need to be replaced. They then informed me that they needed to start digging deeper to find the root problem, and that it would start out at $500 to pull the front end off, due to the amount of labor. Well, $500 is a lot less than $2700, so I readily agreed. After a couple days (slight delay due to Christmas holidays) they then called me and informed me that once they started digging, the problem ended up being something simpler than they initially thought, and that they only needed to charge me $250.So the first place quoted me $2700. Transmission Experts ended up fixing the problem for $250, even after I was ready to pay $500 minimum. And my car runs great now.Would highly recommend this shop.

I just recently moved to Columbus and had no idea where to take my car when it started having problems. I looked up a few places and saw transmission experts & I m so glad I decided to trust Transmission Experts because I am very satisfied with their service. They have great customer service and really care about their customers. They really do everything they can to make their customers happy & not many places are like that anymore. I will definitely be referring people here & coming back here myself.

This place had my car for a week and a half. When I got my car back I was missing a transmission mount, my battery tray cover, my air box was and is still loose, I just replace the mount on the left, front, and right and the guy denied not putting it back. He said it wasn't there when it was. When I drove it on the highway and I hit a dip, the car would swayed left and right. When I drove it to them the first day my car did not sway. My car was sitting in the yard because I've been over the road, so how can it go missing. Then had the nerve to rip me off for 1100. When it don't cost that much to change a transmission. This aint my first time changing transmissions. The guy got upset real quick when I told them that the mount was missing.Service: Transmission

DO NOT GO HERE. DONT! There is nothing expert about the service I saw. I could do it on my own but I wanted it done quick without any trouble or hiccups on my part, so I went to them in trust. Boy was I wrong I could have done it quicker, less stress, cheaper, and above all my truck wouldn t have gotten messed up. Worst part I found at least one part I paid for that was not replaced. No idea how that happened he said. I joint caps not screwed in, t case mounts not bolted in, hanging wires, torn shifter boot, oily interior, went to pick up and clutch sinks to floor, they fix it in 5 minutes. Next I see the t case shift lever isn t hooked up at all. I regret this so much and wish I had had the balls to get my money back and/or go to JAG and have them put on the off limits list for soldiers:

Totally awesome folks to deal with an not out for your money. They truly cared an took the time to figure out what was wrong with my 06 Titan . I wont name no names but a large corporate auto shop told me they did not have time to put a tech in my car to hear the noise or issue I had if it did not make the noise while they drove it the first time around the block. These folks at Transmission Experts took the time an focus to hear an find the problem. They were quick an very good prices.

Car emergencies are not so bad when you have really good people to help... I was referred to transmission experts about 2 years ago and have been using them ever since. They are the only place I go for any auto work because they always go the extra mile as far as service. Eddy was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and super helpful when he had my car towed for free :) and most importantly got me in and out in no time!! The technicians are great and they fix the problem the first time. They have done everything from oil changes to major repairs for me and I have never had to bring my car back after they worked on it. Their facility is also the cleanest, most well-maintained shop I have ever seen. Highly Recommended !

This is one of the best companies that I have used to have my car reparied. I was recommended by a friend and I'm glad I took his advice. I had my transmission built about three months ago and i have not had any issues at all. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have their car repaired.

I would not advise that you take your car here. The service was horrible! Well it was mostly the manager. I gave them my car to fix because of an oil leak, in the process of them fixing it, they broke the handle on my door. They said they would fix it and not charge me for it since it was their fault. I had to wait 3 weeks before I could get my car back! Every day I would call and ask if the part for the door came in for them to fix the door and I would always get the same rude response from the manager..."The part is still on the truck in Atlanta". Really???? What company do you know that will let merchandise sit on a truck for weeks??!! I then took matters into my own hands and called some auto shops here in Columbus that are contracted with Transmission Experts (Legacy, Auto Zone and Advance Auto Parts) to see if they had the part for my door in stock and all of them did and said that it would only take about a day to come in. When I called Transmission Experts to share this information, I quickly noticed a turn around and the part "finally" appeared after 3 weeks of waiting. Then when I finally got the call that my car was ready, they tried to bill me for fixing the door. I quickly corrected him and told him that was not the price I was quoted and that I was not suppose to pay for the door because I did not break it, they did! I'm not making excuses or going to call them sexist, but let's just say more cooperation was given when either my father or (male) cousin spoke with them directly. Overall, it was the customer service that blew me! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!

To all military and first responders such as myself steer clear of this shop. Take your business elsewhere. These guys put another transmission in my car then told me to bring it back in two weeks for inspection which is the norm. Upon leaving I discovered that my speedometer was not working so I immediately called to ask about it. The manager advised "no worries sir, we forgot to tell you about that but we'll take care it when you drop it off for your 2 week inspection"I bring my car back and they literally have it for a month before telling me "well the transmission is ok but we don't feel like we should have to fix your speedometer because it could've just happen to have stopped working while we had it and we can't say for sure if it's something we did". Even though the manager said they would fix it and knew it was working properly before they touched my car. They offered to take it to another business to have it checked out at my own expense. I got my car back another month later with another bill from another business and still didn't fix my speedometer. Oh and the topper is I got my car back mysteriously empty on gas, car completely filthy, and I've never smoked a day in my life but someone decided to leave my car full of ashes. Again I say to all of you reading this take your business elsewhere. Customers Beware!!!

Came in needing a clutch replacement on my Tacoma. After speaking to the after hours receptionist Andrea, we were able to not only find the parts but install everything within 3 hours. Hands down the most professional and courteous staff I ve ever had dealings with. If I m ever back down in Columbus, there is no other place I would go.Service: Transmission
