Really cannot provide a true rating but I was confused when I was told I could not wait at the shop for my car to be diagnosed. I was told I could wait at McDonalds so I just asked the question is it because of COVID and was told yes. Either way I was able to diagnose my a/c issue myself and have it repaired. Pretty sure I saved myself some money. My recommendation is do not have a semi lounge area for a customer not to sit and wait.

I live bout 4 hours away, I come to Columbus to check my businesses and to see family, I have my own shop to work on my personal equipment and vehicles back home, but I do not own anything to diagnose or fix ac issues, it s hard to find good mechanics or trust anyone to work on my stuff in my area so whenever I come up to Columbus I ll bring my ac issues to this place of business they have done all my ac work with quick professional turn around time. I m cheap but, I don t mind paying for good work. Reasonable rates quality service hard to beat folksService: Auto A/C replacement

I cannot say that the news about my vehicle repairs was one I loved to hear but I can say the overall interaction with the shop personnel was very pleasant. They were very knowledgeable...they spoke with clarity and in layman's terms so I could understand. I always felt confident that everything was being done to diagnose the problem with my vehicle and that the estimate was fair. I really appreciated that the mechanic did not patronize me bcos I was a female. I have not had the repairs done yet bcos of budget but once I do I definitely will go back to Cool Car.

A lot of reviews written here are about negative experiences with this shop. I decided to take my car here because I heard that they were the best. While there, I noticed how many people came in looking for everyone to stop what they are doing and give a free estimate. I can promise you that if they stopped what they were doing every time someone came in looking for a free estimate they would make any money.In my particular case, my car was not fixed. It was not fixed because they explained in a very detailed manner that my car had an electrical issue and not an air conditioner issue. Because I left my car with them, with plenty of time to diagnose the problem, they spent time evaluating the problem and couldn t fix it, they did not charge me a diagnostic fee.Their parking lot would not be full of cars if they didn t do a good job.

Best experience I've had in any kind of car repairs. They serviced my air condition! Everyone was friendly with a smiles on there faces. You can see the team work between the employees! Just great all around experience for small local business. Thanks Cool Car!!!

I went by the shop to inquire about AC Services for my car. However, I was told by either the owner or manager that I was Nitpicking Prices. During our discussion, I was adding prices on what I would owe your business for services rendered on my car. I do not mind paying a business for doing a good job. But I do mind be spoken to like a jerk. Have a good day.

The absolute best service I have ever received from anywhere bar none! They are fair, honest, and competent. They really know what they're doing. My mom's AC quit working just all at once. One minute it was ice cold, and the next, it stopped working altogether. She took it to the dealer. We all know how high-priced the dealer is, but it's not just about the price--their diagnosis was wrong. The dealer told her she needed a new blower. The quote was almost $600! I went to Cool Car Auto Air, because I had heard they were the best in town for AC work. This is the first time I had ever gone there, and a man named Gus assured me that he could solve the problem. Gus looked it over and told us the blower was fine. It was just the resistor! Now, normally, when the resistor goes, the AC will only work on one speed for a while. It's a gradual decline. But there are always exceptions. And that's why when you need work done, it's crucial that you go somewhere where they know how to diagnose the real issue and not play guessing games. Needless to say, Gus' quote was much lower than the dealership who are not only high but who also got the diagnosis wrong! It's blowing ice cold again. And it turned out that the new part was actually defective (which isn't common, but it can happen), so the next day Gus had to replace it and fix it again. There was no griping or complaining from him--just superlative service after the sale. That is so rare in today's world. Gus is a man of his word, and he doesn't just talk about providing great customer service...he actually goes the extra mile and does it. If you want high quality service at a fair price performed by technicians who know what they are doing and WHO ARE HONEST, then you can't go wrong choosing Cool Car Auto Air. Gus and his crew being competent is one thing, and it is highly prized, but their honesty and integrity is priceless. I am very happy and satisfied, and I highly recommend them. I will never go anywhere else. And they do other work, too, not just AC. Five stars all the way!

I just had my air conditioner worked on at Cool Car in Columbus, GA. I was impressed by the professional but yet friendly service. I felt the cost was low in consideration to what other shops had quoted me it would cost. I highly recommend this business to anyone and everyone who needs auto air conditioning work done. I noticed while there that they also do mechanical work on cars so I plan to go back there if I ever need anything done to my vehicle. It also made me a believer in supporting small local business owners. Cool Car has is a family business that has been operating in Columbus for years. And I think it is obvious that they are still in business because they care about their customers. Now I can 'keep cool' when I am driving... Thank you to Gus and all his staff.

I had to replace the compressor on my AC and less than a year later the ac agent cooling. I took my car in. They inspected and discovered a freon leak requiring replacing the freon and a small valve that was leaking. While it was t dies fly related to the original repair they repaired and didn't charge me. That's not a common service. I've found them to be pleasant friendly and helpful. I recommend them to my friends.

We are traveling from out of town in a RV. Called about our air-conditioner. They said bring it in. We drive to their place of business. First thing they wanted $70.00 just to look at air-conditioner and wanted us out of unit. We told them it was our home we had no where to go and they said then we can t work on it. Not only are we on the road traveling but we are also senior citizens. No I don t recommend their service to anyone.

THE BEST! I came here after going to automotive skills, and firestone both of which could not fix my aircon. its may in Georgia and i was starting to straight SUFFER! The team at Cool Car Auto were incredible. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable they explained to me in detail what the issue was and what theyll be able to do for me, even taking me to the bay and showing me a car going through a similar process. they have amazing customer service and i was very comfortable leaving my jeep in their hands. with no other car, i was hoofing it to work for the next few days and even more incredibly, the folks here got my jeep done an entire day EARLY!!!! Ive since taken the 8hr drive to Augusta and back nothing but cold, soothing air. I couldnt be more grateful and I couldn't recommend this place more. every so often you find a local shop that just stands above the rest, and for columbus its definitely cool car. THANK YOU!!!!!

Front desk clerk wasn't knowledgeable of actual services and provided very limited details as to services provided. When car was retrieved, car worked fine. The following day, car starts having problems with original issue. As I call the shop, this is when the clerk made it her mission to give me every excuse instead of telling me to bring it in to get looked at. She then placed me on the phone with a gentleman named Gus. This guy was explained verbatim what the previous associate said. Gus was starting to get rude with me which I felt wasn't right considering I'm a paying customer calling about a concern that they were suppos to address. I didn't feel respected or valued as a customer. The very second that I respectfully expressed this, he then tells not to bring my far into them as if they aren't potentially held accountable for what they might've been negligent on. This type of unprofessional behavior should be put on display for anyone that is considering them. This is a real account of events that occurred so I strongly urge all to consider this matter when wasting your money like I did.

Just read the unprofessional responses from the owner like "she didn't have money anyway", and "price shoppers are never happy". Customer's just want honesty and a fair price. Not to be treated as if the amount they're spending ranks their importance to the business

I have always had extremely great service. The employees there are very nice , and the owner Gus , went the extra mile for me and gave me a ride back to work while repairs were being done. I will take all my vehicles to them, they really know what they are doing.

WowSuch a narcissistic owner!Why be so cantankerous?As a business owner myself, all reviews matter AND count! When you call people that's anything less than their name,It only "mirrors" yourself.I recommend the book 48 Laws of Power or maybe not...It may infact teach you how to become even more rude in your affairs, more cunning. If you are need of ac repair go some place else. This business quoted my lady $1200 to replace an ac compressor. I found another business who charged $640 and the ac blows cold. Do your homework. You can see the ower has a negative attitude and only wants your money

Horrible Horrible Horrible. If you want your air conditioner fixed, DO NOT take your car here. I took my 95 Honda Accord here to get my AC serviced. They had my car for two days. I get into my car and it only blew out COOL air on the highest temp. I complained about it and they said since my car was so old, the air wont be freezing cold. However my dad has a 69 chevorlet that blows out freezing cold air on the lowest temp. They also told me once I get on the highway and drive for a long extended time, my air will get cooler. BEWARE!

In today's business world of so much competition TRANSPARENCY is very important to the consumer; it gives them the assurance that they won't be a victim of a "bait and switch" tactic that is so common at many automotive shops. If you can't tell me the cost of a "Evac and recharge" on a specific vehicle over the phone, either you've got something to hide or it's a sad case of incompetence from those answering the phones. Food for thought...

It's kinda rude to have your customers waiting outside in the hot heat when they should make arrangements for them to cool off while being served, i understand the social distance policies, but they can do something to accommodate their customers. Give them water, ice, something.

After being given the run around by the dealership, this shop was highly recommended. But after reading the insulting responses from the owner I think I'll try my luck somewhere else!
