I ve had several friends over the years sing Randy s praises. Boy, am I glad I finally listened. I went in preparing for a huge oil system repair and new brakes, as another mechanic told me I needed. Randy said I needed neither and he alerted me to two very slick tires. He never pressured me to buy the tires from him, although, at his good price, I certainly did. He was honest and gave me an awesome price on everything he did. He also did everything in record time. I ll most definitely be back! Do yourself a favor and come to Hawthorne Automotive FIRST, you will get nothing but honest, fast and excellent service.Services: Tires, Brakes, Oil change

Great, trustworthy shop. Came in thinking I had a stripped stud on one of my wheels due to some bad info from another shop, but this shop told me that wasn t the case and rotated my tires no problem.

If I could give Randy 7 stars I would. Having this place in the pocket has made my life so much easier. I trust these people. They tell you what you really need done on your car and don't push you to do more. Super honest. Super chill. Reasonable prices to pay for car maintenance. So much love for this crew.

Randy and his team are the top dawgs when it comes to service, professionalism, quality, and even price. These guys ROCK! Fixed brakes, rotors, and oil change along with diagnosis under 2 hours?? Always had great experience there. Randy Butler, who owns the shop, always took good care of our old car. They performed "complimentary" check-ups when I took the car in for an oil change; and if repairs had to be done, they always called to give a (very reasonable) estimate and explained well what had to be done, then performed the repair, most often the same day. Great Service!

Randy has always had our best interest in mind. He even advised us to take our car to the dealership one time because it was still under warranty and it would save us money. We trust Randy and he s never steered us wrong.

I definitely recommend this place!!! Mr. Butler and his staff are always an absolute pleasure to work with. I have been taking my vehicles there for the last 6 years and have never had anything but a great experience. They are fair and very upfront about any work that has to be done and everything they do is always top quality! When you go to Hawthorne Automotive you know you have people you can trust working on your vehicle. I can't say enough good things about their work.

I have been using Hawthorne Automotive for over a year. They are always fast, friendly, and honest! Randy (the owner) never tries to up-sell you and will fix your car with integrity and precision. I cannot speak highly enough of this place!!

Randy and his team are such great honest guys. I love that when I take my car there (once for something that another place said would be $100+ more) I feel like I am always getting the best price and the most honest answers. They are fast and friendly too!

We took my car to another shop that incorrectly diagnosed the issue. Luckily, my husband used to be a mechanic and knew they were incorrect. We took it to Hawthorne, and they had it diagnosed within an hour. They had it fixed with an oil change in about a day's time. We will be returning to Hawthorne for ANY future car issues and highly recommend them to everyone. My car is running perfectly now, and they were extremely affordable!

I have had A/C work done here several times and have always been satisfied with the price and quality. However, recently I has a problem with a 2000 Maxima not cranking. It was towed to the garage and the next day cranked right up. It was recommended that I replace the starter as that was the most likely problem. When I got the car home, the car wouldn't start the next day. I found a loose connection on the battery to be the problem. When I did a bench test on the starter taken off the car, I found it to be functional. I asked the mechanic if he did a bench test on the starter before he replaced it. He didn't. Feel that $384 is a little too much to pay for a non-diagnosis and a loose connection on a battery.

I am a bit dissapointed with this place. I was hoping this would be my go to mechanic shop, especially someone I can trust. The owner wasn't as willing to listen to my complaints instead he was a bit condescending as I may not be using the correct terms to describe what was going on with my car (sorry, this may be the majority of your clientele). Also, he was unable to diagnose what was going on until the next day which was fine. I am pretty flexible and understanding, but he just acted like he didnt need my business. I asked if he could take my car tomorrow and have a look at it and it was more like an inconvenience for him. It was then I decided not to come back. Well, the good news is he is around other mechanic so I am sure I can find one easily.

Best place in Athens. Today I could tell something was wrong. Brought it in and found out my Tahoe alternator was going out (right at 150k miles on the original). He was able to get it fixed same day! So thankful to have him as my mechanic.

I know whenever I take my van to him, it s going to be done right and at a fair price! I trust him ! We now live an hr away and I still take my vehicle to him, it s worth it whenever you find a good honest mechanic!

For years I have taken my autos to Hawthorne Automotive. The service is outstanding. The mechanics are very honest about what needs fixed now and what can wait, and the prices are fair.

Very helpful and trustworthy when my car broke down. They verified my transmission was toast and referred me to James transmission. We plan to take our cars here in the future.

The manager Randy is rude. While having a conversation with him, he over talked me and wouldn t even allow me finish a sentence before cutting me off. Don t recommend.
